Absolutely fantastic tattoo studio and artists. I called ahead by only an hour and the owner Jason was able to accommodate me for a walk in because his afternoon schedule had changed. I emailed ahead with my templates and he had them ready to go when I arrived, willing and able to change the proportions for me if I needed. He’s a super charismatic guy, along with the other artists at the shop, and anyone would be lucky to be tattooed by this shop.

We went in to book an apt for my gf’s first tattoo. 3 days later we called back asking to change Artist and the lady said “its rude to change artists, just stay w the same person.” Is this industries’s standard? I was shocked and decided will go somewhere else. Since we are putting permanent ink on someone’s body, i want it to be w someone we feel comfortable with. Very bad experience for us.

I had a fabulous experience here, Sean did my tattoo of a little bee turned out great! they took me last minute on a sunday, Not gonna lie i was going to go to a different tattoo shop that my normal guy works at but they closed early even tho i called and booked the appointment. anyways a friend recommended here and Am I ever happy It turned out this way, Everyone was super nice. they had a little shop dog named Mali ! she was the cutest little thing ever! and i love my tattoo of course!!!! If you are reading this review considering coming here for a tattoo, DO IT !!! Ive seen the same artist for 3 years but next time ill come here first and see sean !

Got my first watercolored ink of a maple leaf on my forearm here done by Joyce. I personally find it pricey due to the price difference compared to my home country but that’s not the way to gauge it since it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Other than that, i have no regrets getting my ink done here due to how beautiful it turned out. Joyce was extremely friendly and we had a good chat about Taiwan, Canada and Singapore during the 2hour session. I’d definitely come back for future inks when i’m in Canada again. Thanks a bunch!

Big Jay has done both of my tattoos and I love them both. I get tonnes of compliments on them whenever I'm out so I'm guessing other people do too. Both times I gave him the ideas that I had for them and he came up with designs that far exceeded what I had in mind. He also did my gf's sparrows on her stomach and they look great. Both of us have referred our friends to go see Jay over the years and every single person that we've sent his way has had a great experience and been more that happy with what they received. if you're looking for a tattoo shop in New Westminster BC (or anywhere in the lower mainland for that matter), go hit up Jay and the other staff at Royal Anchor.

Ok First lets just say that I was 100% satisfied with my experience with Royal Anchor Tattoo. I started with emailing the artist I enjoyed the most art from (Sean Cox) and he kept me very well informed through out the drawing phase. He emailed me almost daily (not normal practice as far as I know of) just to make sure that he was on the right page, and he was. Everything was straight up honest no acts of bull shittery Everything was clean , the space was amazing and for a small place it does not feel like a cookie cutter place nor crowded. A lot of love and time went into their venue. Sean Cox was amazing artist. He took his time and made sure that every detail was perfect. He was very easy to get along with and the music was enjoyable. The owner was present at the time and he offered me jolly ranchers to pass the tattoo time and of course I accepted. Nothing here made me think that it was going to go wrong and the environment and the artists were very polite and very professional. I would 100% go back for my next tattoo. Sean Cox I would highly recommend. He made sure that the tattoo I wanted was everything I envisioned it to be and he added is own artistic flare that I honestly respected, if you are a sea lover Seas_ink is you man. he was doing some art while I was in the room and man can he capture the life of the sea on ink If you are booking a tattoo this is your place and being so close to Colombia SkyTrain station its so easy to get to. Joyce is a fantastic artist that will put more effort into her work than anyone could possibly ask of her (And her dad jokes as well). Also all very professional and they always have great advice. Super convenient too because it's walking distance from New Westminster sky train station. They also have lots of parking which is great, because I prefer to drive anyway... Very reasonable prices and quality work. You won't find a better tattoo shop anywhere!
