The Outsider Collective is a great place to get your first (or millionth) tattoo. The place itself is clean and had processes in place for privacy when tattooing in more delicate areas. Alise was wonderful as a tattooist who had a keen eye for detail and making clients feel comfortable!

I had an incredibly pleasant experience getting tattooed by Cade. He was super patiet as he placed the tattoo probably five or so times before I finally agreed that his initial idea was best. He took time with the piece and it turned out beautiful. He made sure to let me know that I should come back if I wanted anything added to it and during the six hours I was there I felt nothing but incredibly safe and the experience was absolutely lovely.

I just visited Outsider Tattoo Collective and was very impressed by the cleanliness and COVID 19 safety protocols in place. They asked for screening questions in the contactless waiver form process, I washed my hands and they sanitize your phone ( I loved this extra step, a lot of folx in the shop were using their phones while being tattooed. A great extra precaution for clients and their staff). All staff and clients were wearing masks and the entire shop was very well cleaned/organized and sanitized. I was tattooed by Chris Blanco and he was very professional and friendly. He took the time to check in with me and ensure I was comfortable. He provided water and snacks during my long 5 hour session. His work is beautiful and I am so happy with my new tattoo! I hope to be back for my tattoos by him and or the other great artists there. Thanks again for a wonderful experience :)

I had the best experience here at the shop. The entire team is so friendly and dedicated to creating their clients visions. My friend worked with Chris B on a very detailed back piece. The design took a week or so to perfect and it come out gorgeous! Chris emailed her back and forth and really wanted her to be happy with her design. During the tattoo proccess (which was over 5 hours) Chris made sure to check if she was doing okay, he made conversation, the entire time it felt very comfortable and relaxed. The piece is absolutely stunning and even made me want to book a tattoo (which is a super simple proccess). All these negative reviews are NOT a reflection of the outsider tattoo collection of their respective artist. Go here and expirence meeting the friendly staff that does goes above and beyond for their clients, see their talents and dedication frist hand and then make a decision. The team is amazing, the shop is stunning and they all do impeccable work, I would not hesitate to recommend Chris B or any artist here at the shop to anyone wanting a tattoo!

Even before they were the outsider collective this team has been beyond professional and dedicated to putting out their best work. I had my first tattoo done at Outsider Collective with Alise and was so thrilled with everything! I was extremely nervous and wasn’t too sure about placement, and Alise was very patient, offered lots of advice, took time to play around with sizing and placement and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. When I arrived to the studio Chris was there to greet me warmly and made me feel right at home. The space was clean and professional, bright and inviting. I love the simplicity of the work they’ve done to make an older spot new and fresh. I am so in love with my tattoo and so impressed with Alise’s light handed beautiful artwork. I could not recommend Outsider Tattoo Collective more. I’ve been tattooed at multiple other shops in Vancouver but Outsider is by far the most friendly, professional and client-focused shops I’ve been to. Chris has done an incredible job building a team of amazing artists who make you feel beyond welcomed and genuinely engage with you during your time there. The shop is always immaculate, the tattoos are of the highest quality and you’ll leave wanting to come back as soon as possible. Definitely make them the top of your list if you’re looking to get tattooed in Vancouver.

It's a great space and they also support local artists by displaying their artwork. All the artists are super keen to work with you to great something unique and they are passionate about their work. Can't reccomend this place enough.... 100% my new local tattoo studio. Also for vegans out there Chris uses vegan friendly ink ????

I recently recieved a tattoo by Alise, at it was nothing short of amazing! she took her time to place the tattoo exactly where I wanted and I also wasnt too sure exactly what I wanted with shading and all that, so i let her have some creative freedom, and i couldnt be happier with how my tattoo turned out! (sometimes you just need to trust) and she had the most gentle touch when it came to the actual tattooing. And the shop is also super clean and I was very comfortable the whole experince. I would 100% reccomend outsider collective, and Alise for any tattoos you might be planning :)

I had a near-perfect experience here. It’s easy to see that they have a great team. The energy in the shop is so contagious; it really makes those painful spots tolerable. Covid protocols are great (personal storage bins, personal items sterilized) I was tattooed by Shaelee - her attention to detail is like no other artist I’ve worked with. I did not feel comfortable while getting my tattoo. It was in a very private area and I felt very exposed. It’s very awkward feeling this way for several hours. I wish they had more privacy when getting tattooed in vulnerable areas.

Very slow replies on trying to book through email. Or they ignore and don’t want to do the tattoo. It’s okay, I am booked with another artist at another shop who replied within a day. It’s a 6 month wait for her and she can still seem to find time. I think if it takes more than a week to get a response, it would be a good idea to have an auto response to give people some information... otherwise, It’s just bad customer service

I'd love to give this shop a 5/5 rating, as I've been there 6+ times to get tattooed but the last time I went I met one of the owners and really had a poor experience with him. He scolded me for leaving my phone and wallet near the garbage when there was absolutely no room anywhere else for them as I was being contorted for a tattoo and couldn't have them on my person. He suggested I was going to get sick and that now I was genuinely at risk. He was upset. My artist, who is absolutely great, reassured me later that I'll be fine and that he was just having a bad day but Jesus. All night I was feeling anxiety about what harm I may have out myself in and how stupid I was to put them near the garbage can.
