I love this place! In a city filled with so many run of the mill tattoo shops, this one has a certain authenticity about it, real purveyors of authentic tradition in here, you can tell these guys LOVE tattooing, and the culture and community that comes along with it. Clean, Friendly service. lots of cool art to see! Good tunes on the hi-fi, and its in a cool neighbourhood! Highly recommend it!

The shop is my favorite in Vancouver. Great friendly staff, super clean and welcoming. The kind of place where you go into and leave not only with a tattoo but a new friend. All the staff is super talented and ego free. Can't wait for my next visit. Chad is always professional and accommodating. COVID Protocols are heavily monitored, which left me feeling very safe.

Work is done quickly and at a very high quality. You pay for what you get kids and you get quality work here. Chad tattooed me yeeeeeeaaarrrrs ago but the half sleeves and tops of my feet look like they were done this year. I still get compliments on the greens of the flower stems that cover my arms. He runs a tight and very clean ship, plus, you can tell everyone is stoked to be there. I'm glad to see you guys keep killing it.

Getting tattoos from all over the world for 20 + years, this shop continues to hit #1 each and every time! Artists are extremely talented, mixed with great music and humor makes the vibe here so welcoming. Chad is the guy to see in Vancouver for tradition Japanese, I had the pleasure of completing a full back piece recently, there is no doubt in my mind it would win awards for the level of detail and accuracy of its traditional origin! If you "got a buddy that comes to the place" who's cheap, and "really good at shading", then you're all set, bud. No need for further research of any sort. But if you're interested in large scale Japanese, adding to your American traditional collection, or simply want a solid, proper tattoo in any style, look no further than Fraser Street Tattoo Shop. I have a smaller piece from Chris, and am currently in the process of finishing up my back piece with Chad. No need to feel intimidated, these guys are friendly and ego-free as they come.

i was looking for a cover-up a couple of months ago and knew nothing about the local tattoo artist scene. a couple of friends recommended chris styles. i gave him pics of my tattoo concept and crossed my fingers and went down to check it out and VOILA! instant awesomeness! i'd originally told him i wanted the tattoo to be oriented in a linear way but after taking measurements he NAILED the proportions in a more effective manner, something only someone with a good sense of space & taste could do. this first tattoo exceeded all expectations and i'm glad he was able to make it fit my body so perfectly. i was instantly addicted. the second tattoo... same thing: this one was a little bigger than i'd originally expected but based on my hips, belly button, etc, it ended up being way radder than i'd gone in hoping to get. chris has a way with making something his own. he listens to you but will also suggest better tweaks especially if you're a little unsure of some of the details. i put full trust in him. i actually cried a little after seeing the first tattoo. i was so overwhelmed by its awesomeness. anyways fast forward to today. i went in for a consult on number three (!) and had some main ideas but wasn't exactly sure how to put them together. let me tell you, i hemmed and hawed and put the poor boy through the mill. he spent so much time with me sketching out an assortment of ideas. i really appreciate his patience and talent and ability to see the bigger picture. long story short: i'm now an addict and will have had three done in less than two months. plus on top of his talent is him as a person. you're spending hours getting inked and want to feel comfortable, right? he's funny & cool. but not only him, everyone at s.e.t. makes your experience welcoming and super fun. the shop has a chill, positive vibe with killer music! oh i know i'll be back for number four!

Geez. I feel bad writing their first 3 star review. This shop has a good vibe. It's sanitary as the name suggests. My experience wasn't as pleasant as others. I worked on a tattoo with Chris. I found that it was hard to get a hold of Chris. It would take days to get replies to emails. I had to chase him a couple of times to get a confirmation of my design requests. When I showed up to have the tattoo done, I noticed that the tattoo stencil was larger than the size I had requested. I confronted Chris about it. He said that the details of the tattoo would not show up in the size I requested, and that I "didn't understand how line work is done" (which is true, I don't). I wish he had communicated with me upfront about the size of the tattoo. Nobody likes showing up to a surprise on tattoo day. What's most disturbing is that Chris was going to do the tattoo in the larger size without even mentioning it to me. I wouldn't have realized the discrepancy until it was too late. I consider that very unprofessional. I ended up doing the ink with Ani @ Dark Day Tattoo. She replied to my inquiry within 24 hours and got me in within 2 days with the exact art I asked for. That's just my experience. You be the judge.

The owner of this shop, Chad, is very skilled in Japanese methology art. I got a Kansabori chest plate (cover up) done with a 3/4 sleeve and i am very impressed. I can't thank him enough for this amazing piece i got. Before I met Chad, I was about to make plans to get out of town to get Japanese art done. By coincedent, I drove by their location, and thought i would see if there was a Japanese artist. I'm so gald I dropped by that day. Saved me a few airplane tickets and hotel stays, which would've went towards my tattoos. I can't wait till I get my other chest plate done with another 3/4 sleeve. The staff here is very friendly. They are about quality not quantity. They are also very professional and sanitary. I get complements everyday from strangers. They are blown away by the quality of the tats. The lines, shading, placement on certain muscles, movement on skin. My money was well spent here. No regrets, just grateful I found a local artist who specialized in what I wanted. I spent 5 years trying to look for a skilled Japanese artist. Chad is the man, seriously!

He knows everything there is to know about japanese work. Him and the rest of his staff are extremely friendly and treat me like a friend rather than just a client. Chris Stiles did an amazing job on my fiances first tattoo. Her and I were both very pleased with his care, comfort, knowledge and great humour.
