Such a great shop, the staff are always super friendly and inviting. The walls of the shop are filled with art and inspiration, and have full portfolios for each artist. It's very helpful when someone wants to find an artist with a certain style of tattooing. Also Crystal, the piercing artist is so talented and great at her work! Always impressed with the caliber of artists and how professional they all are.

She was so understanding when my schedule changed, getting me in an alternate and timely manner and was just overall so accommodating! The gal at the desk kept saying that the artist was booked for a “minute”.....Not speaking in hipster I enquired about a future appointment to which I was told, they were booked for a “hard minute”. Visibly confused I asked when I could get a consult and was told over a week later. I mentioned the website said “Walk-ins welcome”, to which I was told “That’s only for small tattoos” but not consults or future bookings.... LoL Wat?

This place was heavily recommended. Very clean. Bright. Lots to look at to distract from discomfort if needed. I collaborated with Shantelle. She was amazing and so easy to talk to. So talented. The linework on my tattoo is so precise. She checked in on me through out the process regarding design, comfort level and any design decisions. Outlined aftercare and provided hard copy and moisturizer sample. Once healed I'd definitely go here for future work!

I accompanied my cousin as she got several small tattoos done and the the staff were AMAZING. When she was feeling faint at the end, they have her an ice pack and a juice box and even fanned her with paper to help her. They went above and beyond. Her tattoos were also very well done and all the risks, after-care, etc...were well explained to her. I wish we had tipped more, will definitely do so next time! Also, they take CASH ONLY, just as a FYI.

I got a small tattoo and a cartilage piercing from this shop about a year ago. A penny sized tattoo cost 100$ and I was not told the cost beforehand, they also did not have a sign anywhere stating the minimum cost. (There is also nothing on their website) The tattoo artist that I got seemed annoyed that I wanted a tattoo, numerous times he told me to wait for my original tattoo to fade into nothing and not get it touched up. I was pretty confused but I still wanted to get my tattoo done. He drew up a little heart, I'll admit that it was perfectly symmetrical. But, when he began the tattoo I thought he was just going to do an outline but he ended up filling it in with black, I didn't really mind either way but because he just assumed and didn't ask it made me very annoyed. So whatever, at that point it was just a lot of miscommunication, I should have spoken up more and I am happy with how the tattoo turned out. But I still have my cartilage piercing to talk about. I called in about a week ahead of time to book an appointment for a triple helix. A week later the day of the appointment I arrived 15 minutes early and the lady who was supposed to pierce me had booked a walk in client during my appointment time. I waited an additional 20 minutes for her client to finish, and the piercer told me she forgot that I had booked an appointment for that day. It seems that they wrote in a book their appointments and didn't check it daily. Because she forgot about my appointment she did not have enough needles to give me a triple helix and I ended up only getting one piercing. Additionally they have a dog just walking around the shop? It seems unsanitary and unprofessional. I would not recommend this shop even to my worst enemy, you'll end up with a better looking tattoo and friendlier service going down the road to sideshow in my opinion.

I was able to work with two artists there for two pieces which have turned out to be stunning, and saying that is an understatement. Super professional but completely relaxed. They make for sure you're positive thats what you want and if they feel like it might not work out due to placement they'll voice their opinion and help you out with design work or location. The only place I plan on getting the rest of my tattoos done.

I've gotten a few tattoos here from Rob, and got hooked up with awesome tattoos each time. Also a friendly feel to the environment there, and you are made to feel good for going there. Good advice after too on how to take care of my tattoo. I've noticed all the artists there care a lot about their work, and every piece I've seen so far is tight. They get a lot of piercing walk ins too if ya'll wondering. These guys and girls here are all good peoples, I would highly recommend.

Poor place, if you like Tattoo places that dont have there actually hours posted online and people who don’t pick up the phone go here! They asked me once “ who pierced you!? It’s infected.” And I responded you did! You want a 80$ infection on your ear go here! HUGE RIP OFF! Won’t be spending my money here again!

Ive been getting pierced by Crystal since I was 15, and I wont go see anyone else anymore! Ive never had issues with the piercings that I've gotten done here and I always have issues everywhere else. She is really clean and sanitary when she pierces and makes sure you're completely comfortable. Definitely recommend to everyone I know!

I have visited Bold Statements twice now and have gotten three pieces done by the highly anticipated Timothy Strange. I have followed his work on instagram for some time now and was extremely pleased with the turn out! From the moment I walked into the shop I loved the environment. Both visits only Tim and Crystal were in and it was a great time. They have a great work ethic with each other which influenced my confidence in the shop. One of the things I like most about Bold Statements is theres no funny business going on. Very straight to the point! Both times I went Tim stayed later to finish my pieces and it is very clear he takes pride in his work. I also want to take note on the cleanliness. As mentioned, I went in with other people both times, each time they also had gotten something done. Tim ensured he maintained a very clean and sterile environment which made me feel 10x more comfortable. My overall experience was filled with a lot of laughs and good times. I can't wait to go back and get some more stuff done. 10/10 would recommend.

Shantelle is such a pleasure to work with. Her artistic mind and work are great. I described to her what I wanted and she hit it right on the head with her sketch. The pricing was what I expected. She brings over 13 years of experience and was fully confident in what to do during the whole session which put me at ease about how it would turn out. She's a great conversationalist and is more than willing to share with you aspects of her life while she tattoos. Its also the least painful tattoo I've had. But unsure if that was because of her or the placement. She also has a friendly Chihuahua. If you want something more on the illustrative side with neo-traidtional, traditional, or Japanese, I believe she would do an amazing job for you. I will be coming back.

I got my nose pierced from here and a couple of my other friends got their ears pierced. The place was very clean and everybody that worked there was extremely friendly! After, everything was done, Ashley the piercer was very informative on how to take care of the piercings. Thank you so much Ashley, you did a great job! We will definitely be coming back here again. I had such a great experience at bold statement. My friend and I went in the previous week to get a tattoo, she loved hers so we decided to go back and both get tattoos done by Tim. He was very friendly and drew up all of the tattoos that we wanted. Tim and Crystal were both in the shop with us as we all just made jokes and had a great time and experience. The environment was very comfortable as my friend and myself were able to relax and not be so nervous about our tattoos. Tim did an amazing job with both of our tattoos as we got two each. He captured what we envisioned perfectly. He even stayed a bit later and made sure to take his time in order for us to get exactly what we wanted. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, great environment and great work that was done. Very friendly and made the experience that much better.

They never disappoint, and are amazing with coming up with designs that accommodate everything you want. Super professional and great sense of humours! This was my very first tattoo, and I got it just under my bicept which is a painful spot to get a tattoo regardless of how many you have. But the guy who did it - Tim Strange - did an AMAZING job and I can't wait to go back to get more work done in the same spot to add more work to my very first tattoo. I'll be honest, if I had to rate the service and experience I would give it 5 stars. The shop was clean, staff was professional and pretty chill. I was super comfortable and that's huge bonus when getting inked. BUT.. 100% I was ripped off on pricing for what I got. I read reviews that this place was reasonably priced.. absolutely not. I got a phrase from a song , it literally took 30 minutes and a penny sized heart on my wrist and it was over $250. I can understand a tattoo that is detailed and takes time to be high priced and of course I believe the artist needs to be compensated for their time but for what I got and what I paid I won't ever go back and I don't recommend you to go there unless you have bottomless pockets. With that being said, I'm super happy with what I got but wish I didn't feel like I was ripped off .. lesson learned

I went to see Shantelle because I knew her as an apprentice back in the days and that now she had been tattooing for a while and she was good but the main reason I switched is because of the lack of punctuality from a previous artist, customer appointment was second priority, so many hours wasted for waiting, artist not showing up often, sometimes no phone calls. Shantelle is way more professional in her approach and seem to care about the customers. I will be going for my third tattoo now and it's been great. She definitely has talent and the place is clean.
