Clean and professional.
My gf and I went in for 3 piercings for 300+ dollars... I MAY have payed this amount, if the Piercing technician wasn't so condescending towards my lack of knowledge about how to begin spacing my ear lobes or my momentary stutter. This lead to her making me feel very stupid on my birthday. Anyone looking for a person who makes you feel so blissfully comfortable whilst penetrating your skin, go see "Iron Legend" on princess st. You will be speaking with Mike:)
TLDR: Inkwell is amazing and so is the staff. Sabrina is the best piercer I’ve been to. I got my daith, conch, and nostril done by Sabrina back in August and it was such a lovely experience. She’s a wonderful person and is very knowledgeable on piercing procedures and jewelry. She helped me feel completely at ease as she worked and has helped me when I lost my nose piercing and had stuck an earring through it so the hole didn’t close (definitely thought I was going to get a bit of a chewing out for sticking an earring in there but she was completely understanding and made me feel so much better about the whole thing). The receptionist (I think his name is Dom?) is also the nicest human I’ve ever met. He’s been so helpful with every appointment I book and he’s always there to make me laugh and feel calm while I wait for an appointment. I’ve talked to him both over the phone and in person and he really is a wonderful guy. I’m getting tattooed by Chelsea in two weeks and knowing how lovely everyone else has been I can’t wait to meet her and have her art on me. Inkwell is my favourite studio that I’ve been to and is now my go-to recommendation for anyone looking for quality piercings or tattoos. A note about the shop itself: it’s so clean, comfortable, and interesting to look at. That couch is honestly so comfy and I now want one just like it in my house. I love looking around at all the decor and picking out things I didn’t notice the last time I was in. Sabrina’s piercing area is also so cool and very clean. The shop is HUGE. You wouldn’t expect it because of how it looks outside but there’s a whole other area through this set of saloon doors and it’s honestly surprising how big it is. Parking is close by (there’s a parking garage three doors down from the shop) and Shopper’s is right across the street in case you need to get anything additional that the shop doesn’t offer for aftercare (eg. moisturizer for itchy tattoos, something to spray the saline onto to clean your piercings). All in all Inkwell is a very warm and welcoming place that follows safety measures and is incredibly clean. I love everyone I’ve met there and I can’t wait to get more work done by Sabrina in the future, and to get tattooed by Chelsea in a few weeks.
Really clean inside the staff is really nice besides but the girl that did my piercing. She was very rude.
Amazing service!! By far the nicest and most professional parlor in kingston. All the staff are polite and knowledgable. I have gotten many piercings at different locations in kingston and I will never be going anywhere but here!
Absolutely love all of my tattoos done by Chelsea Vachon. I would recommend going to her! Her line/colour work is amazing. She also has a very light hand, which is a bonus (meaning pain is limited). Go check her out on Instagram!
This place was wonderful! The people are nice and inviting, they have solid security precautions, and they're altogether very professional!
Very professional establishment. Knowledgeable friendly staff
The piercer was very rude. She came across as judgmental and as if I was wasting her time. Left because of her.
On vacation in kingston and Sabrina accomadated me for 3 piercings. Very professional and kind. Highly recommended. Thanks again.
Great services and products
I was greeted by the staff very friendly. I went for a monroe, tragus and helix piercings. This was done quickly and minimal pain if any at all. Sabrina did my piercings. She is friendly and dons beautiful piercings on herself!!! Ty so much to all!!!
best shop in town.
Very sterile and friendly service! Highly recommend, this is a very professional and reputable place and I felt very safe.
Got my first tattoo done by Niq and it was an absolute dream. Exactly what I wanted and Niq did wonders calming my nerves and talking out my ideas. He also patiently walked me through the entire process and explained everything before he started. Extremely stoked and will definitely come back for more soon!
Today I went in to get my septum pierced by Sabrina. It was very easy, she was very kind and made small talk which helped with nerves and was very informative on aftercare, timeline for healing and changing the jewellery, as well as answering any questions I had and giving me some tips. She really made it a good experience, was very clear with the process and it ended up being exactly what I wanted. The man at the front desk was also very polite and welcoming, so that was nice too. The price for the service and quality of the jewellery is great, overall (from booking online ahead of time, the jewellery, as well as the aftercare solution) it was around $90 [booking online 45$ for the service, and then following the piercing I paid $46.50 for the jewellery and aftercare], which I was more than happy with because I know I want this piercing to last and heal well. It might be out of some peoples ideal price points but you definitely are paying for better quality, a good experience and having it done by a professional piercer, and in the end that'll be better for your piercing to have good jewellery in it! The place is also very clean and there's a lot of informative signs which are helpful, and the waiting area is very cute and interesting! Would definitely recommend :)
I went in from a two hour drive and got told that my twelve year old cant get pierced in the cartilage
I would not recommend Ink Well to anyone for anything piercing related. When I initially had my helix piercing done I was pleased with my experience. However, I was never told to return for a follow up or to have the jewelry downsized. A few months later I noticed my piercing was on a slight angle, and had developed a bump underneath the jewelry. I went back to Ink well to get advice on how to remedy the state of my piercing. I spoke to the same woman who had pierced my ear and found her incredibly condescending, rude and dismissive. She basically told me it was my fault for not coming in to have the jewelry downsized (despite never being told by her this was necessary). Luckily, I called another spot in town, and the piercer was very understanding and offered potential options to fix the issues with my piercing.
The artists are friendly and do amazing work be it your own or their design, I can't wait to get my next tattoos!!
Got my rook pericing done..healed nicley...very professional place
Great service. Very knowledgeable about piercings, and ensured I felt very comfortable and assured during the process of getting my septum pierced. Would recommend this practice to anybody, as Sabrina is a great artist as well.
Allison did an amazing job on my tattoo! Really appreciate how kind and thoughtful all the staff at Ink Well were. Definitely recommend coming here.
Not enough words to describe how awesome this place is and the people
everyone was super friendly, workplace was clean and very pleased with how my tattoo turned out !:)
Great staff. Excellent piercer, clean and makes you feel so comfortable. Have yet to get a tattoo here hence the 4 stars
Jason takes time and care both with developing your tattoo concept and meticulous delivery of the design onto your skin. All the members of his shop are friendly and knowledgeable, everyone makes your experience a great one, whether it's your very first tattoo or your 100th one. Very clean and organized shop, you feel your health is a priority and great care is taken to insure your safety. Convenient parking lot right beside shop and a larger one is just around the corner.
Love this place! Super clean, friendly and great staff and atmosphere!!!
I went here for a small piercing and the total was $100. They didn't make their prices aparent online beforehand and so I thought the $45 deposit was the bulk of what I had to pay for. What's more, is I didn't realize that I was paying a deposit. I'm 17, and they didn't make it clear what I was paying for was non-refundable. A tiny steel stud was $40 extra. What's more is after 6 weeks the swelling goes down, and they want you to come in and pay another $20 for an adjustment. The only price that seemed reasonable was $6 for the aftercare, which is a bottle of cleaner for the hole. TLDR; I like the piercing and the people were professional but the prices are way too high. Wouldn't recommend for anyone on a budget like I am. Honestly feel a little scammed.
Always a positive experience, I have been a client of Jason and Brock who are outstanding artist. Inkwell is place to go for your next tattoo if you are looking for great work at fair pricing, and artist are not happy till you are.
Although they were unable to perform the piercings I wanted; they were very polite on the phone. She even recommended places I could go to to get them done. That gives them a 5 star just for customer service. If I ever want a piercing done that's on their list; I'll be sure to stop by!
I had my nose pierced by Sabrina this morning and she was amazing.I was a little nervous but she made me comfortable. She was very kind and gentle. She knows her stuff that's for sure. Would highly recommend this place.
I went to get a piercing and a jewelry change from Sabrina and she was so great! Very friendly, super informative, got the piercing done super quickly, and didn’t have me stressing about the pain. I’m not sure the name of the man who was answering calls, but when he took my call he was so kind and worked with my schedule to help find a time for me to come in. They followed up via text messages to ensure I was still able to make the appointment and have follow up appointments after 6 weeks to change the jewelry for me. Will definitely be back for more piercing and jewelry! :)
Had an amazing experience getting pierced here. The staff was friendly , knowledgeable, and my piercing healed beautifully!!! Would highly recommend for any of your piercing or tattoo needs !!!
I went to Inkwell on Tuesday the 13th and had two piercings done by Sabrina. She was super kind, knowledgeable and informative. Inkwell and Sabrina did/and continue to do a great job following covid protocols/keeping the studio clean. I felt more than comfortable for my entire appointment. Thank you Sabrina for listening to me rant about my life and being so awesome! I love my new piercings and jewelry. ❤️
I saw Sabrina for 3 piercings on September 15. The guy doing reception is super welcoming and chill which got the appointment started on a great vibe. Sabrina was patient and helped me choose my jewelry, showing me what choices I had based on what I was getting. They have a lot of really beautiful and unique pieces that you wouldn't see just anywhere which I appreciated. She was a calming presence as she poked holes in my body and we had a nice banter. She gave lots of instruction for aftercare and will also be doing a downsizing appointment with me - another good sign that she's a quality piercer. Some other reviews have described her as rude/cold but I did not find that at all. I think she is just a reserved person. Side Note: this is not where to go if you want the cheapest thing possible. I get the impression that Sabrina cares very deeply about her job and therefore chooses the best quality products. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a piercing in Kingston and IMO she is the top choice here.
I love my tattoo - thanks Allison Bell for bringing my vision to life
This place is great. My sister's and I all had piercings done with Sabrina and she was amazing! The shop is super cool and clean and all three of us felt comfortable with Sabrina the entire process!
My friend and I made an appointment to get piercings here with Sabrina. The website said $80 + jewellery for 2 cartilage piercings and I thought that was reasonable. I have 4 other cartilage piercings from various different places so I assumed they would have some budget friendly options ($15-$30), especially since they did not list any prices on the website. When I got there the piercer was very condescending toward me about choosing earrings. I asked her what the price range is like because they looked expensive and she told me to point to one specifically. She told me that it was $135 PER earring and I was shocked and asked if they had cheaper options and she said "we don't do cheap jewellery". I was taken aback and she seemed to be beating around the bush while I was being very clear that I just wanted the cheapest option which is completely reasonable but she was being rude about it. After I said that it was not in my price range she told me that they had a $50/per earring option and I told her I still can't afford a $200 pair of piercings. She asked if I wanted to do one instead of two and I said no and apologized because I felt bad for wasting her time. Again she was annoyed and I couldn't get the door open because it was locked for COVID and had a deadbolt and she treated me like I was dumb for not being able to figure it out and kept repeating TURN THE DEADBOLT. I turned it quite a few times thank you but I appreciate the hostility nonetheless. Would absolutely not recommend getting a piercing here, I cried after I left and I am a grown woman. While I understand Sabrina's frustration and it is likely not even her fault that the prices are not disclosed on the site. But if you are charging that much it should be made CLEAR and you should not beat around the bush when asked about it. I have read several other reviews that sound exactly like my experience from the last couple years so it seems to me like they know it is a scam and have already accounted for the cost-benefit of walkouts. I felt bad about wasting Sabrina's time because I know what it's like in the service industry but after reading other reviews it seems like this is both a common and deliberate occurrence. The shop had a cute couch!
I just got my nostril piercing done on the 26th of October. I was pierced by Sabrina and I picked out a star stud that I thought was a regular hooked stud but it was actually two pieces, that have to be inserted from inside the nose and screwed on from the outside, but at the time I was fine with that. The piercing process went great, we made good distracting small talk, she struggled to get the star screwed onto my piercing a bit but that was understandable since it was so small. When it came to paying she didn’t explain that the aftercare wasn’t include in the $50 for the piercing (the aftercare was $12) so I was slightly confused as to why a $50 piercing and $40 jewelry came out to $107. The next night after i got pierced, I noticed the star on my piercing looked like it shifted, I went to touch it and it completely fell off and it took me an hour to find it, and by the time I did the hole in my nose was already starting to close because who knows how long the piercing had been unattached + the hour it took me to find the star, so I had to have a friend come rush a hooked stud over to me. Not to mention because the jewelry had to be inserted from the inside I could not get it in at all. I at first thought my glasses unscrewed the star and was upset that I spent $40 on a piece of jewelry I wouldn’t be able to wear because of my glasses, so I went back to inkwell the next day to ask if I could “exchange” (only said in quotations because I’m aware they wouldn’t be able to sell the piercing I already had in my nose) the star piercing to a different one I thought I would be able to wear (this is also how I found out why my price was so expensive). When I came in the door sabrina greeted me and throughout the entire conversation she didnt look very “happy to help”, she more so just seemed like she wanted to give me some kind of answer to my problem whether it helped or not so I could leave. I came into the store to ask if I could get a piercing I would be able to wear and I didn’t even get to asking that because she continuously cut me off mid sentence, and assumed I came back in for her to put the piercing back on. I explained because I thought my glasses unscrewed the star I didn’t want the piercing back on and she said it would be impossible for my glasses to have done that, and had to have been the way that I was cleaning it. I’m not saying that the way I was cleaning it had no affect on the star falling off, and maybe it was part of the reason. But personally I think if it could be an issue Sabrina should have addressed this. I understand we are human and we all make mistakes and she probably just didn’t screw it on right (as stated before, it was a very tiny star). But the fact that I couldn’t even ask my question even if she was going to say no, and gave me an answer that makes my problem my fault instead of just owning up to how it is hard to screw a small star onto a small stick just to get me out of the store left a large impact on me. So now I’ve paid $107 for an infection in my nose. One last thing I would like to add is that Sabrina failing to mention the additional price of something or information about a product seems like a pattern I’ve seen on multiple reviews. I would have LOVED to know that the jewelry wasn’t a hooked stud, and when I asked about why the price was so expensive during my second visit she spoke to me as if I was stupid or as if she had already said it before, but she never mentioned that the aftercare was $12 and if I had have known that I would not have bought it. I understand it’s probably necessary to recommend the aftercare solution, but the issue is that it wasn’t recommended, I was just given it without being told it cost extra.
Didn’t even get a tattoo because while in process for setting upthe women I was speaking to was very rude, went to another tattoo shop much better compared to this place. To bad because art work looked good
I got a piercing done by Sabrina, she was amazing and definitely happy with the result. The shop is super clean and everyone was very friendly.
I don’t know how Sabrina did it but I feel absolutely no pain after getting my piercing. I had booked an appointment to get two piercings, one in each ear. Immediately upon arrival Sabrina told me it wouldn’t be a great idea to go with two in separate ears, I really appreciated her input, it think it took integrity because just going with one instead of two would mean missing out on a sale (if she got commission, I’m not sure). I could tell she put education and professionalism first, I learned a lot from her. As someone whose had many experiences (good and bad) with piercings I appreciated the care and time she put into informing me of best practices. I chose a 14k gold stud for my piercing, I loved that I could pick something cute and personal to my style as opposed to the basic titanium bar and ball. It is at extra cost and more expensive than a lot of spots but it was entirely worth the investment. I know that going forward I’ll have beautiful jewellery that I’m happy to commit to long term. The aftercare explanation was in-depth and I like that the aftercare solution was added to the cost of the service (it is an extra cost), they take hygiene seriously. I’d also like to add that I asked if I could lay down for the piercing, I have a chronic illness that can result in passing out, she very honestly told me that it would be best for me to sit up. I was anxious but immediately after she stuck the needle through she told me I could lay down. That meant so much to me, she was receptive to my need for accommodation and that just made the experience so much more comfortable. Overall, an incredible experience. I’ve seen Niq for a tattoo at inkwell and was already really impressed by the shop. (Btw, shout out to Niq for being an amazing tattoo artist). Thank you so much, Sabrina, Niq, Inkwell!! I will be a returning regular :)
got my septum pierced here today, the staff was fabulous. I booked my appointment the day before and the man at the counter was so nice! the lady who did my piercing was nice and talked to me through the whole thing, she also was really helpful with aftercare information!
Sabrina is amazing! Got my belly button pierced and love it!!
I got my ear pierced, didn't hurt, good stuff
Very Clean and Professional place. Cad did a fantastic job on my first Tattoo. Made it look exactly like what I had sent them. I'm in love with it and they preformed top teir at a fair price point.
Love it all .. Great place to go.. Awesome Prices.... Beautiful atmosphere fantastic artwork overall gorgeous
Wonderful artists, great space, and got some wicked ink to boot
When you want the best you go to the best
When you want the best you go to the best
I got tattooed by Alli Brown on the 3rd and she was absolutely fantastic. Her work is very professional and is healing up like a dream. I've been to artists who have been working for decades who didn't have half the skill or professionalism Alli had, and I'm totally impressed. I'm definitely going to be returning to Ink Well, and I advise anyone else to go to Ink Well too. 10 out of 10!
All i can say is awesome, love it
While I never actually paid for or received any services or products from this establishment, the bit of time I spent in there I felt belittled by the person “helping me”. I was looking to purchase a new bar for my industrial piercing. First, she’s the professional (I assume), so please, it’s ok to let that expertise shine through and educate me. That isn’t what happened here though. First she asked how long I’ve had my industrial out. I couldn’t actually remember, and she didn’t bother to explain what I assume were multiple reasons for asking the question. She just moved straight on to saying she would need to measure, and although I thought I had moved my toque out of the way for her to measure she rudely said “your hat is in my way”, instead of asking me to move it more or remove it. Then she started showing me all the “fancy” options, and even though I said I wasn’t interested in coloured jewellery continued to show me coloured pieces. I explained I’ve had bad luck with coloured jewellery and she said “this isn’t cheap stuff like mall jewellery, I make these coloured pieces”. Umm, what I bought before wasn’t “mall jewellery”, it was from a studio, but it was like 15 years ago, and I guess I got painted poor quality. No need to treat me like I just go to the mall for my body jewellery. Since I hadn’t been shown or told about any basic, plain, uncoloured, straight surgical stainless steel bar and beads I thought I’d ask how much a bar would be with opal beads (they weren’t what I wanted, but maybe it would grow on me). She said “$55”. Ok, that’s a fair price I thought. Having noted the sign when I entered that said “cash only, ATM available”, and knowing I only had $60 in my pocket and no debit or credit cards on me I asked “is that price tax included”, and her reply was the icing on the cake “just like any business you go into, you still have to pay tax here”. Lady, I don’t know why you had to be so snotty, but there are businesses out there, and it’s especially common with businesses that are cash only, to state their prices with taxes included, for ease of shopping! No need to be sooooo rude!!! My asking that question wasn’t an unreasonable action on my end, and could have been answered simply with “no sorry, taxes are on top of all prices”. Absolutely no customer service skills here! She couldn’t even be bothered to smile once during any point of our interaction. Pfft. I’m definitely not going to be going back to buy anything, and will definitely not recommend this shop to anyone for any reason at all. No one should pay to be treated poorly.
I got my very first tattoo here with Alli and they made sure my experience was the best it could be. They did a wonderful job on my tattoo, and their hands were so steady—the line work is amazing I still can’t believe it. It’s been a month and my tattoo is healing great (Alli provided me with plenty of aftercare instructions) and I’m so happy with the results.
My sister and I had a tattoo done in memory of our mom who passed this year. Mark was the artist that did our tattoo. Very friendly and funny guy. We recommend Ink Well to anyone who wants professional art work done.
I got a daith piercing done by Sabrina Mack! She did a wonderful job to make it as painless as possible and was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Everything was done in a sanitary and safe manner! About 2 weeks later and my piercing is healing well! I only had pain that day and none at all since then.
I've had two tattoo's done by Chelsea and they're both amazing. They both healed so well that neither needed touch ups. I'm always asked who did my tattoo's and I love sending people here because it's such a great environment and I've loved my experiences
Amazing talent with some great artists. They help you discuss and think about the tattoo you want. Make sure it fits on the location of your body best and pre-draw to make sure you and the artist are both on the same page. Very clean and nicely decorated venue.
I've been going here for years. Very friendly staff and a very comfortable vibe.
I have had many piercings done here and will continue to do so for future piercings. I have never had a problem with healing, all my questions are answered even during the healing with regards to aftercare and when I can upgrade my jewelry. The prices are amazing for the lower end and high end pieces. Sabrina is very knowledgeable and continues to grow her knowledge by going to every class and workshop available. I recommend this place to everyone I know of every age. All of the staff are amazing and welcoming.
Staff goes extra mile to ensure you get what you want. Extremely proficienct artists!
Sabrina was very nice, and thoughtful throughout the whole experience! She ensured that I felt comfortable during the process, and I'm very happy with how everything turned out!
piercer was very rude and condescending. i have gotten 3/7 of my ear piercings here and they are the only ones that have ever gotten infected. i was told that i could not get my piercing with a hoop and now that it has been about 8 months it is almost impossible to replace the bar i got with a hoop. one of my piercings was also not secured tight enough so it fell out twice during daily activities within the first 2 weeks of having it.
I got an industrial piercing from Sabrina, and a tattoo from Allison. (First piercing and first tattoo) Both were very professional and friendly, and I am very happy with the results. I would definitely return in the future!
I went to Ink Well on October 18th to get a tattoo by Chelsea. This being my first tattoo in 12 years, I was pretty nervous but Chelsea was super friendly and made me feel comfortable immediately with her professionalism and kindness. I honestly could not be happier with my experience , atmosphere and with the work she produced on my arm. I will be back again and again! Thank you to the whole team!
Great reception, amazing artists. Highly recommend!
Great experience. Love the no nonsense approach. Our piercer took her job seriously and when you show respect to her craft she responds warmly. Love my piercing.
Did not have a good time. Now, admittedly, I did not end up getting a piercing or tattoo from here, but I definitely do not want to. I first emailed (with no response) then called and booked an appointment, showed up about 20 minutes early due to the bus schedule (expecting to wait until my designated appointment time, as opposed to thinking they would fit me in early- although they could have because the place was empty) and was met with rude and unwelcoming staff because of it.Then I was told I was unable to get my ears pierced because I was a month shy of 18. While I find this frustrating, as most places back home would say the age for an ear piercing- not a tattoo or a more private piercing- is 16, I understand that the shop and its staff are not at fault for this. The reason I do not want to go back is simply the bad customer service and rude staff. *UPDATE After having read more reviews on this place, I'm frankly glad I didn't get to have my ears pierced here. It seems that many other people have experience the same standoffish and condescending attitude from the staff as I did, and that those who actually went through with piercings had problems with them. I'm very surprised that after the number of negative reviews they've had based purely on the bad attitude from staff, that they haven't made any changes. I'm from Ottawa and have had piercings done at a place called Sacred Ink Tattoo Collective (which I would HIGHLY recommend, it is the complete opposite of this place) and honestly will be making the trip home just to go to a place I know has friendly staff, reasonable prices, and knows what they're doing. I wish I could reply to the "response from owners"... As I said in my review, I did not expect to be seen early when I arrived before my appointment and certainly did not say anything alluding to this idea. Also, I did say that I understand that the shop itself couldn't do anything about the 18+ and that's totally fine. As I mentioned before, my problem with the store is with the staff being so condescending and unfriendly. Not an atmosphere in which I would feel particularly comfortable getting piercings or tattoos done.
Pretty crappy costumer service, I waited 5+ hours to get a tattoo when I had an appointment. Came back a few weeks later for a touch up by the same artist and had to wait 2+ hours AGAIN... walk in clients are seen before booked appointments apparently.
"Ink Well" has very knowledgeable and helpful staff that made getting my tattoos an enjoyable experience. I have 9 tattoos so far from Ink Well and plan on getting more. I wholeheartedly recommend them.
Very professional and comfortable setting. Sabrina was phenomenal! Definitely recommend
Took my daughter for a piercing with Sabrina yesterday. Sabrina was fantastic, she was extremely professional, and provided very detailed aftercare instructions. The salon was very clean and welcoming and offered a good selection of jewelry at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend
I have been wanting to have my nose (nostril) pierced for a while, so last Monday I popped in to have it done. Sabrina was very knowledgable in her industry and takes the initiative to continue her education. I am following her after care plan and am having no problems :) It is healing great and have had no discomfort. I will not be living in Kingston when she recommended a jewellery change, and she even knew a piercer from my hometown to recommend (There is a network of piercers who keep up to industry standards, which she is apart of, and is the other artist she recommended). Great experience!! And very clean studio.
Very professional.
Artists are talented and very personable. Got an excellent first tattoo here.
A professional, clean, inviting atmosphere and awesome staff. They take safety and hygiene very seriously with COVID-19, and are always so knowledgeable and friendly. Sabrina was very professional, made for a pleasant 1st time. Thank you!
Went in to Get a gift card for a family member with the Artist Austin who was working on a sleeve with her and was told by the lady at the desk (brown hair she was extremely rude) that they didn’t know where he was and that he skipped town. I walked into another shop one street up, to find him there a week ago because the same family member wanted to get a piercing. Extremely sad and disappointed that they said he skipped town. Will be letting everyone know what happened. Super unprofessional. Will not be back.
My friend was stressed and the lady doing her piercing wouldn't let me talk her through it. Other that that the place was clean and very professional. They give you crocs at the entrance
Sabrina is extremely negative and made both myself and my partner very uncomfortable and upset because of her attitude that made us feel like we were being such a burden on her and wasting her time almost. Would not recommend her services to anyone solely due to her attitude and negativity
I am extremely, extremely disappointed in this business. I would not recommend to a friend, to any person reading this review, nor will I ever, ever go here again. I got my helix pierced four days ago at this salon, and my piercing became extremely infected. After getting medical advice to take the piercing out, and not being able to take the piercing out by myself, my friend and I called the salon for advice. The phone call we had with an employee of the salon was the most disgusting, and outrageous phone call I have ever had in my life. He was extremely rude, short, and had no compassion or empathy for me at all. He undermined my concerns about the infection, told me to ignore medical advice, and offered no help or advice to take out the piercing. He mocked me, and told me that it was my fault for the infection (although I had followed the sanitary advice, and had been cleaning my piercing 4 times daily). I ended up going to another salon, Iron Legends, and the employee told me that Ink Well used an inappropriate piercing size that probably led to the infection. The bar was way too short, and did not accommodate the normal amount of swelling that happens after a piercing. I am extremely disappointed in the service of Ink Well, and will never ever go here again.
I made an appointment for getting my ears pierced last weekend. I phoned to confirm my appointment ahead of time. When I got there and was filling out the consent form I was told they were doing cash only. This could have been mentioned to me hours prior when I confirmed my appointment. The girl working there was quite rude throughout the entire interaction. I asked how much for my piercings and jewelry (I picked the cheapest jewelry which I was told cost $90). The cost of the piercing would have been $80. I was then told the total would be $300. In shock, I asked again and was rudely told the same reply. Promptly left and got my piercing done elsewhere. Will never return or recommend.
Horrible customer service .The girl piercer working there is extremely rude. I would not recommend going to Ink Well . Super uncomfortable experience .
Niq gives the best dry shave in town!!! Professional and kind, super talented and detail oriented ♥️
A professional, clean, inviting atmosphere and awesome staff. They take safety and hygiene very seriously, and are always so knowledgeable and friendly. I have gotten several great tattoos here from various artists, and wouldn't go anywhere else for piercings.
They do such amazing work here which I would love to give 5 stars, however their customer service needs a touch up. I understand people have bad days, but every time I’ve came into this shop to get a pericing from Sabrina she always has an attitude. Plus, they basically copied a tattoo they drew up for me and gave another client the same thing when growing up in the tattoo industry I grown up knowing it is unprofessional to copy another work onto another client.
Bad experiences with Sabrina the piercer. She is very rude and condescending. Every time I went in she had an incredibly bad attitude, she would not give me straight answers to my questions, and refused to even ballpark how much a helix and conch piercing would cost (even though she should know considering there is a pricelist on their website) I have had good experiences with other employees there, but they no longer work there. Now I get my tattoos and piercings from other shops in Kingston and have good experiences.
Sabrina is so good at what she does. Very knowledgeable. I am very pleased with my new conch piercing. Originally thought what I wanted was called the orbital (thanks google) and it's like she knew I had no idea haha. She asked me to describe what I thought that was and she informed me it was actually a conch. Will definitely be returning for all future piercings I have planned.
Excellent customer service and a very professional attitude. The piercer Sabrina knows her stuff inside out, so definitely check her out. Best place in Kingston by far.
" Awesome atmosphere, amazing staff, and a very clean professional environment". Very talented staff. Happy with what Niq did with a concept I gave him. I would definitely recommend checking them out.
My opinion may be biased.
Love the studio. Pleasant atmosphere. Had a bit of an issue with the piercing artist.
Last week I visited Ink Well to get both my ears pierced by Sabrina. I’m very happy with the result: Sabrina has done a great job as she is an experienced piercer (as is also shown by the many certificates she has obtained that are hanging on the wall). However, before my ears got pierced I choose my jewelry and I asked her what my earrings would cost. She replied it would be $95, on top of the $80 price for the piercing itself. However, when I had to pay it turned out that it was $95 per earring, while I assumed it was $95 for the 2 earrings as a pair. Sabrina knew on forehand she would pierce both my ears, and therefore knew I needed 2 pieces of jewelry. I think it is a bit unfair to not tell me the exact price, even though I specifically asked for it. It’s unfortunate, because Sabrina is a great piercer and seems like a nice person.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff,
Do not come to this place if you’re getting a piercing, it’s bad and they’ll steal your money if they can. Sabrina is very unprofessional.
This place is awesome can't wait to get my next tat
Jason is a master of his craft. He has the creativity to expand on your ideas and the vision to bring your intent for your piece into reality. Inkwell also offers a discount for Military personnel so if you’re a service member and you’re looking to get some ink, look no further!
Amazing people, amazing job!!!
Went to get a Marilyn Monroe peircing and it all went smoothly... I would definitely go their again.. Ty ink well
Great shop! Everyone's so polite and professional. You get great tattoos for a great price. Best tattoo shop in Kingston.
Terrible customer service and misrepresentation of prices.
Was not impressed gave my deposit then was told I missed the appointment I'm pretty sure I know what days I work I have worked the same hours and days for 12 years, so they booked it wrong. Then was told I'd have to put another deposit in to re-schedule. No thanks you made a mistake and I have to pay for it.
Sabrina has corrected old piercings, and have done several new ones on me and she kills it every single time! I'm always leaving smiling and feeling like I've been taken care of! She calms your fears, and distracts you from the pain! And not to mention amazing jewelry to choose from! The quality of jewlery feels super safe and has always been non irritating! I'll always reccomend inkwell and sabrina for piercings!
At this point I've spent about 20 hours getting tattooed here over the years, it is simply the best place. I've never felt so safe and happy with the work done here. From checking in to knowledge of tattoo and piercings, it is truely the most professional shop in town, cannot recommend enough.
Quick, clean and friendly. I would bring my kids here if they wanted more piercings. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Rating it one star because I felt a bit bamboozled by the cost of everything. The piercing itself costs 50$, the cheapest jewellery you can buy is 35$, and you are expected to purchase a 12$ after care kit. Paying 35$ for a SINGLE surgical steel barbell stud is ridiculous, every other place I have been to has included this basic and cheap earring with the cost of piercing. Expect to spend at least 85$ per piercing here.
Great work
Went there for a memorial tattoo of my dog that recently passed away. The store is beautifully decorated .They keep it extremely clean and sanitized , with many covid precautions in place. Such kind and professional staff. My tattoo was done by Niq who went above and beyond designing the art piece .He was suggesting things to add or change that I didn't know or think about. By far my favorite tattoo place and artist. Thank you Niq and Ink Well. I highly recommend both.
I came into the shop today to resolve a piercing gone wrong from another shop in Toronto. Jazmine, with her great knowledge and expertise, squeezed me in last minute and helped me out of a very, very uncomfortable situation. Great first impression of Ink Well Tattoos & Piercings and I will 100% be coming back to this shop for future piercings.
got my nose peirced and it was quick and very clean and the peircer is awesome .. ill be back ❤️
I got my first tattoo here and it was a wonderful experience! Niq was so helpful and was able to bring my vision to life. He made the entire experience very easy, I would recommend to anyone! I look forward to parading my new tattoo around and will certainly be back in the future. 11/10!
I had an amazing experience at this clean and sanitary place. I’m 13 and got my bellybutton pierced two months ago, it’s still healing great and I’ve had no problems.
I had a great experience getting my first tattoos at Ink Well. As a whole, the facility is operating under proper COVID-19 procedures and was very clean. There is no sketchy business going on at Ink Well and I felt good and comfortable the whole time. My tattooist Niq did a phenomenal job. He was very nice and personable. As this was my first time getting tattooed, Niq took the time to make me feel comfortable, made sure the pieces were how I wanted and kept checking in with how I was doing throughout the process. Overall, Niq was very professional, made me feel good and did a great job!! Thanks again Niq, I will definitely be coming back :)
Have been to Inkwell many times and always recomend it to friends and clients of my own. Always professional, clean, and work in a timely manner. Best place to go if you want some new ink or some new piercings!
I went to get my conch pierced and the earrings were extremely overpriced - I paid $200 for my earring. They used an earring that should not have been used for the initial piercing. Then, after 2 weeks they told me to come back to get a shorter stem, and this infected my ear. Almost 2 years later it still gets infected every few months. They do not know what they're doing and are in it for the money.
This tattoo/piercing place was unlike any I have been to before! The staff were very friendly and informative. They also took the time to answer any questions and concerns I had. They were also very professional, took the time to thoroughly clean and sanitize everything, and even before my appointment were very good with communication. I really liked how this place sent me a text message prior to my appointment as a reminder. I very much recommend this place!
I had a very pleasant experience at Inkwell yesterday getting a helix piercing! Booking an appointment over the phone was simple, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole process was far more comfortable then I could have imagined! Would highly recommend Inkwell to others and will definitely be returning for any further piercings! Thanks again!
We took our daughter there to get her ears pierced for the first time (seventh birthday). Sabrina was so calming and reassuring, both to us and our little one. The space was immaculate, Sabrina was incredibly thorough, and soooo clean. Honestly a parent's dream. The price was right, the service was bar none. Will continue to highly recommend to anyone of any age, and regardless of what you're getting done!
Some of the best tattoo artists Kingston has to offer. Great atmosphere
Sabrina pierced my rook and helix, both of which got infected despite a rigorous cleaning schedule (doing salt baths every day, saline spray). I went to another place and was told that my rook was pierced at an incorrect angle and I now have a permanent bump. Sabrina was cold and standoffish to me also, I don't recommend this place! Go to True North Tattoo instead, don’t know her name but the piercer is lovely! EDIT- The salt baths mentioned above were using boiled water in a sterilized bowl with non iodized salt, something that has worked for every other piercing I have gotten since! Sabrina’s attitude and poor piercing angle is the major problem here.
Terrible service from staff. I tried to buy a gift certificate and they made it very difficult. They were also extremely rude. I went somewhere else.

Bad service, and the piercer was rude. Cash only??? who has $100 + (not to mention overpriced) cash on them in 2020. Also was charged for a cleansing product I didn't ask for, agree to buy, or even touch. Will probably go again since there aren't many other places in Kingston, stayed tuned for review #2.
I went there 3 separate times re. 1 ear piercing. Pros: Sterile and professional looking environment. Cool guy working the desk. Why I won't be back: Sabrina. Stiff personality and condescending. Caught her rolling her eyes at me when I said I didn't have time to do a jewelry change at that time. I only popped in for her to look at the bump on my ear. Suggestion: Go elsewhere for a piercing or see if the guy that works the desk does them. He's very friendly.
It was decorated nicely.
I had purchased some peircings a few days ago, one of which the ball thread was loose on and came off. I hoped to replace it and when I approached a female worker about it she had a bad attitude and condescending remarks, I wanted to show her the jewelry so to get the right ball for it and make sure the threading was good but was told to not handle my jewelry in the lobby then was constantly being told about cleanliness, I did purchase the ball but not the one that matched but at least it's something, once my purchase was complete I then wanted to make sure the ball screwed on properly which she told me again to not touch it followed by more condescending remarks. I spent 100$ on two peircings and an additional $7 on the replacement ball, was going to book to get a new peircing done too but after service I experienced I wont be, It was very shockingly uncomforting.
Amazing work from talented people.
Decided to get a daith piercing at the beginning of September and I could not be happier with the results. Sabrina was super friendly and talked me through the piercing to make me less nervous. The piercing was done so quickly with precision, the next day I genuinely didn't even have any redness or swelling. Piercing more on the pricey side but for good reason, the jewelry is medical grade steel.
Got worked on by Austin and had an excellent experience. Will be back soon.
Disclaimer: I WASNT TOUCHING THE JEWELRY Every time I go in I am aggressively handed a hand sanitizer bottle and told off for touching my own piercing (to indicate what jewelry I’m looking for), the girl is not very welcoming and continues to be condescending and unhelpful. I recently went in to look at jewelry and would have bought a piece of it weren’t for her menacingly standing over me telling me not to touch the jewellery (when I wasn’t). Not a very welcoming, no judgement space ????????♀️
