Went to Steel n Ink today in Barrie, and got my first tattoo! I was a walk in & hadn't booked an appointment, but was met right away and asked what I wanted tattooed. The atmosphere was super relaxed and clean, and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Once the tattoo process began, Tito made me feel very comfortable and showed me all the products he would be using. I would recommend Steel n Ink to anyone, especially if you're getting your first tattoo & nervous like I was! My experience was 10/10. Can't wait to come back for my next tattoo ☺️

Kinda expensive, but worth it, its a very clean, welcoming environment and the staff are really nice. Unlike some other piercing places I've been to that are just scary, and have sketchy vibes. Definitely recommend steal and ink.

I literally just got home from getting my tattoo done (3pm lol) but I couldn't wait to write a review so HERE YA GO. My artist was Tara and oh my goodness she was so kind, very knowledgable, and honestly very light handed! Her work is gorgeous and her personality is lovely :) As well, the entire group of artists working there gave off such good vibes. I had a tattoo done over a year ago by Tito and honestly I could say the same for that time as well. 100% COVID-19 protocol approved so you'll definitely be visiting a safe and clean business. Went and got an industrial piercing. VERY nice people! Quick service,they answered all of my questions honestly, set me up with after care and everything. I am definitely going back to get Another piercing and a new tattoo! The steel they used was amazing, i usually take a reaction to the steel used at other shops. The piercer was a nice guy and walked me through the whole process (which is better then silence and awkwardness). Very clean inside and love the way its set up with art work around and a display case to look at as you wait! I was very pleased with this place! 6/5 stars forsure!

I got 3 piercings done here, the actual piercing was ok, however they didn’t ask me before doing the piercing if I liked the placement, so it is way too close to my other piercing then I wanted. I also got WAY overcharged for the jewelry I picked. I felt a little off about the price so I checked online and it was almost $100 less then what I was charged for it

I've had a peircing and a tattoo at this shop and had an amazing experience both times I was there! I don't remember the peircers name but he was very professional and made me feel very comfortable! Tito did my tattoo and he did a phenomenal job, I came in for the consultation with only a rough idea and my very terrible hand drawn picture of what I wanted and he took that and did an amazing job with it! I had a weird experience at the location in Newmarket but I don't see it on Google maps yet. I got a conch piercing here and the piercer used a ring that was way too small. I wasn't educated about it at the time but after a couple google searches I learned that most reputable piercers do not pierce this with a ring because it's harder to heal and ESPECIALLY not with a ring as tight as the one I got. It hurt so badly I had to remove it. I have had many ear piercings before, and a nostril piercing at other places and I have never experienced such pain. It was very frustrating as I thought this was a good place to get pierced. The piercer also didn't communicate well at all. I thought he was marking my ear and next thing I knew he was already pushing the needle through. Every other piercing I have had, the piercer communicated to me what was happening and gave me a warning. I will not be returning :/ Yikes. Edit: I still gave 2 stars because there is a large selection of jewelry and the pricing was reasonable.

My friend phoned ahead as we live out of town and she was told that they would have space available after 5pm. Once we got there shortly after 5pm she was turned away. The tattoo she wanted was 4 small shadow bats and would not have taken alot of time. The man whom spoke to her once we arrived was very short with her. This is the second time we have ran into a problem with customer service at a Steel n ink shop. They may do okay tattoos but they lack in service skills and plain manners. I do not want a discount.

I went in for my first tattoo and i went to see mark. guys friendly enough but was very shy. I ended up asking all the questions and im not a very outgoing person at all. mark was very cleanly but i think thats the only positive thing i can say. the guy that cashed me out was rude, had theyre product on the counter and he looked at me and said "really?". they didnt explain very well how to treat it. i payed $150 for an incredibly small/simple tattoo, that took 15 minutes to pen. dont recommend for first timers.

I loved the work, and service I got tattooed from Tara Lloyd at Steel and Ink. Not only was she very friendly, clean, and professional, her work is beautiful and crisp. She did a half sleeve of peonies on me, and I love them. Shading is SPOT ON, I’ve gotten so many compliments on the shading, and the lines are so crisp, and I got EXACTLY what I wanted for my half sleeve, not was professional but also punctual, we got the tattoo done in good time, and for a fantastic price. Couldn’t be more happier and I will always recommend Tara to people I know and will rep her work to those who ask. Everyone I spoke to at Steel and Ink were also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will keep coming back.

I had belly piercing on October23,2018 after that it was infected till middle of december and the main thing is i had piercing on wednesday after that he took 129.11$ for velly pircing and then just about 2 days ago had talk with my friend who suggested me for this place and after that i really felt just because i am an international he charged me extra money. If you are an international I didn't prefer you this place. Even more their response are really rude.

I’ve had many piercings in the past before coming here. The studio itself is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Brock has pierced my tragus and helix and you can tell he knows his stuff. Great placement, great personality/customer service. Couldn’t recommend him enough. Side note: do yourself a favour and splurge on jewellery so you don’t have to spend more getting it re-pierced later. They have a great selection of solid gold pieces!

unfortunately went to this location to get my third lobe piercings. not only was it extremely over priced ($200 later for basic lobe piercings), but my piercings are COMPLETELY crooked; they are not lined up with my first and second holes and look very noticeably misplaced (as pointed out by everyone i have shown). very very unhappy with the outcome. not only this, but i was also not greeted until 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. i stood waiting at the front door for 25 minutes until a staff member finally came and decided to greet me. not a good experience overall and will not be returning.

I would NEVER book anything with this place after the experience i just had , i had and appointment booked for about a week and a half to get my fathers finger print done , the day before my appointment i received a call from Justin to confirm my appointment and i confirmed , so the next day i drove over 3 hours to Barrie only to be told that they had taken a walk in and that i would have to wait an additional 2 hours , bottom line NO CLASS , and appointments dont matter , this drive cost me as much as the tat would have , NEVER NEVER book here , walk ins mean more than you booking a certain time ( only a 1 star becacuse i have to give it a star )

I got my helix (cartilage) pierced here back in October of 2020. Nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness, friendliness. They were also very professional, so no complaints there. Only downside was it was much more expensive than the other piercing place I went to. On top of that, when the piercing got ripped out by my mask and I lost the backing, Steel and Ink charged me an extra $20 for a backing and said they weren't charging me for the 'jewelry change'. (I'm assuming they normally do). The other place I went to for my other piercings, offers free jewelry changes. Between October 2020 and now, I've gotten 2 (3) new piercings at another piercing place: my seconds lobes and conch/orbital (another cartilage piercing) and I probably paid the same amount for both lobes and orbital than I did for that one cartilage piercing. My friend however had a worse experience. They got their industrial pierced here and had a horrible recovery with a terrible healing process due to the piercing being put an incorrect angle; and again, they paid a fraction of what they paid at Steel n Ink for the one industrial, than what they paid for for 2 piercings at the other piercing place.

I have been to steel n ink twice, once for a tattoo, that turned out beautiful one of my favourite pieces. Was quoted $160, told it would take 1.5hours. It took two hours (with the artist taking two 15 minute breaks). And I was charged $260, told afterwards they messed up on the quote. That wasn’t fair I was told one price it should of been honoured. Then I got told that it took longer than expected. (But it didn’t, so I was paying for the artist who had to take two 15 minute smoke breaks.). I was young and didn’t know better. (Art is beautiful though) Second I went to get a piercing, figured maybe that would be different. Got told originally I didn’t have the right ear shape, then got told “oh we’ll make it work” (industrial bar). That should of been my first red flag. Then I showed the piercer where I wanted it he marked it, he made the dots I told him I wanted it higher he said okay I’ll fix that when I do it. (Second flag cause now he was going to free hand). But he didn’t fix it still put it through the origami spot but folded the flap of my ear over in the process. It did not heal well and I ended up just removing because of the pain it was causing me trying to heal it.

Shop was empty and it was early afternoon. I work in a shop and I know walk-ins can be done. They said they would book me another time. I went somewhere else and even though she was slammed, she kept me comfortable, entertained and had me look through her work. Then she quickly did up a stencil when she was finished with her clients and stayed a half an hour after close to finish what I wanted. I recently got a tattoo done by Alexandra. My complaints are that the original drawing was done quickly and that when I pointed out revisions that I wanted made, (positioning, alignment of the corners on the geometric design) "Lexi" assured me they would be fixed but then didn’t. I felt that she pressured and rushed me, and didn’t listen to my concerns and wasn't at all willing to put in the effort to give my a good tattoo. When I later went back and expressed my dissatisfaction in person, Lexi refused to refund my money. I then called to complain to her co-worker, hopefully to get back my money. Had a great experience at Steele n Ink in Barrie. I've never had ear piercings before, so I was nervous but Brock put me at ease, explained the differences between the piercings and took his time. It made my decisions easier and when it came time to the actual piercings there was very little pain at all. Not only would I go there again but I would recommend it to family and friends. This was our 2nd visit at Steel n Ink and we are very pleased with the services received so far. Dropped in with my daughter to seek assistance with switching out her nose piercing for the first time and Brock did it for her right on the spot, at no charge! The team is always very welcoming and their customer service is excellent! I've also noticed during our visits that they create some pretty wicked tattoos. Before going in I had reviewed this place and decided to go in as it had great reviews. I was greeted and helped right away. The person helping me out was great, unfortunately I can't say the same about the tattoo artist, Aaron. He did not make me feel welcome at all and he just seemed miserable that he was stuck with my tattoo and that showed in his work. The tattoo I wanted was just writing.... to me it looks like some letters are a bit blurry. I decided to give it a chance to heal before I made a comment. After almost 2 months it still looks blurry.... disappointing.

I brought my fiancé in to get a belly piercing The piercer was very honest with us saying because of the shape of her belly and navel wouldn’t work right now! And was best to wait!
