His linework was spot on, he showed me all the expiration dates on his new equipment and made me watch him sterilize everything, and his taste in music is awesome! He's my go-to guy from now on! I will ONLY go to the Matrix for my artwork. Bull, Justin and Leisa are so talented, friendly, and never fail to amaze me with their absolutely beautiful work. The environment is clean, they run on time and every staff member is warm and welcoming, making it seem more like you’re visiting friends than walking into a tattoo parlour! My name is Paul and I recently went to this studio to have a couple of tattoos done - the owner and artist Bull was amazing at his work and my family are absolutely thrilled with what he did! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by friendly staff, the studio as a whole and it's rooms are clean and very inviting... each with it's own personality which is very cool. Bull was very personable and his suggestions to my design were welcoming and he didn't force anything on me that I didn't approve prior to anything being done. Extremely disappointed with a landscape tattoo around my forearm by Amanda. Started off looking great after my first session but felt like she rushed through the rest. I don’t think she had a plan and just winged it even after ensuring me she is really good at these kind of tattoos. I have floating trees and rocks that are just circles and bushes that are just unrecognizable. Really disappointing result and I’m really hoping I can find someone who can fix it because I do not want my arm looking like that for the rest of my life. Maybe stick to flowers.

Tattoo artist Johny destroyed my girlfriend's leg it got infected, we went to a few other artists after and every one said that he overworked it and obviously doesn't know what he is doing. Would not recommend that artist at all. On the other hand the owner is very nice and hopefully she can get some better staff

Have been here numerous times before for other pieces and piercings, still my "go - to" place. Was here earlier today and we are more than happy with our pieces done by Bull. Atmosphere is very nice, well decorated and the receptionist was extremely friendly. Was very clean, and our tattoo artist was fantastic. Will return for more work in the future !

Was looking to get a tattoo here, but I'm skeptical of getting work done somewhere that is also a salon, barber, and soon to be liquor licensed (tattoos and booze????)? All that aside the inside is in pretty rough shape and it does not feel welcoming.

Most poorly run and dirty shop I have ever had the displeasure of walking into. When a customer is left sitting in the hallway while the staff says nothing to them and my wife has to clean a toilet seat to sit down ,there is NO WAY anyone there is putting a needle into my skin!!!

Ken has done 15 of my 16 piercings. He really takes pride in his work and it shows. Ken also has formal education and first hand experience in this field which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. If you are thinking of getting a new piercing I would highly recommend Ken at Matrix.

I thought I'd check this place out. I found it in the mall across from a mini food court. Wasn't sure if it was a tattoo shop or a discount clothing store. Kid at the counter was really eager to tattoo me, but couldn't produce a real portfolio, just "flash" drawings and such. The piercer seemed really elietest, and arrogant but really didnt have much to show for himself. Not sure how to feel about this place. The artists that seemed like they knew something were all busy (and rightfully so), and the only people that would talk to me were the apprentices and scratchers.

Thinking about getting a tattoo? Every time someone gets a tattoo there’s always a lot of questions that come up: Can they do the art I’m looking for ? Will it be the tattoo I am hoping for ? Along with many other questions and sometimes scares. If you’ve ever had A bad experience at a tattoo shop these questions can double possibly even triple, insecurities should Never keep you from your hearts desire. If you come to matrix & talk to them about your design or the design you’re looking for, they will help you!! feel more secure while putting your tattoo together and as always checking the picture before it goes on the skin. I can personally say this is my favourite tattoo place in Barrie Ontario ????????

I had my tragus pierced somewhere else but the jewel had fallen out multiple times within a month. I went to matrix to have it fixed and it was done without a problem. Excellent staff and awesome customer service-highly recommend!

I wouldn’t recommend going to a tattoo shop owned by someone (Ann Buttineau) who doesn’t care about tattooing and just taking your money and ripping off her artists. As a former artist and having her steal hundreds of dollars from me you’d think she would have some decency to at least remove MY artwork from their website. After attempting to contact her about removing my hard work and being ignored once again, I’d like as many people to know she’s a scam artist, the artwork you see on the website isn’t anything near what you’ll walk out with. Save yourself the money and trouble and go to a legitimate shop that actually posts their own artists work. Do not support such a disgusting “business” and business owner.

I went to Lucky Devil to get a piercing done (it was an ear piercing). The first time I went the piercing did not turn out no matter what I did. I took excellent care of it but I ended up taking it out. The second piercing I got from there was having too much trouble healing but when I went to Matrix Ken told me that Lucky Devil had pierced my ear wrong and it was at an angle and in a very bad place. He took it out without any pain and kept me at ease. I also went to Matrix for my tattoo and Joe was great. Overall great service, great work, great prices, atmosphere, and workers.

Looking for a tattoo? I waited years before biting the bullett on this one. Finally decided on this establishment and obviously did not do my homework. The place was dark, dirty, dingy and the staff reflected same. What was supposed to be a cute little wine glass on my foot....looked like a mini wrench from a tool box. After hearing so many comments and questions such as "what is that?" Or "what is that thing supposed to be?" I discussed the situation with the owner who offered no comment or resolution to have corrected. I then decided to have it looked at by a highly referred salon and am very pleased that they were able to cover the tattoo. Expensive lesson to say the least. Never again! Do your due diligence and homework!!

Artist Deanna took deposit on tattoo, sent one design completely off from what i wanted when asked to adjust she said no problem then never sent anything and never responded to future messages. find a more professional place if your looking for any tattoo more complicated than a pin-up. Wish could give a zero star rating.

Got nose piercing wrong location did offer to redo but to painfu and used Vaseline that prevents healing. 2 stars cause my daughter's in right location but let daughter Mark her own. After calling telehealth said Vaseline should not be used.

I went and got a collarbone/ shoulder tattoo a few days ago for my birthday, most painful experience with a tattoo I've ever had and I have many tattoos already and havnt had any problems before. I had an appointment for 6, then it was changed to 7 when I got there , then at 7 I had to wait till 8 which was closing time. The artist did good work but rushed the tattoo and pushed in way to hard the whole time. When I got home the bandage was completely filled with blood which I've never had with any other tattoo. The next day my whole chest and shoulder was purple and super painful. It's been 6 days and every day its gotten worse even though I've been following proper aftercare . It's now infected and still bruised not to mention the tattoo looks completely different. I have to now take antibiotics for it.....not happy at all. Will not be going back to this shop .

All of the girls have gotten both tattoos and piercings done at Matrix and have no complaints. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Never a problem getting a touch up on new tats or advice on a just new piercing. Would and do recommend matrix

Justin is fantastic and made me feel so comfortable. I have mad anxiety and they made the experience absolutely amazing ❣️ I was also on a time limit and they got me in the next day! These guys are real and incredible at their jobs! The shop is incredible, definitely recommend checking them out!

I decided to try daith piercing for chronic migraines. Matrix was professional, reasonably priced and did a great job. Minimal discomfort during the piercing and I’ve had zero pain afterwards. No issues with healing at all. I would highly recommend Matrix in Barrie!
