Really cool shop. Everyone if very friendly. The front of the shop is set up like an art gallery with really awesome art all over the walls. When you go into the back to get tattood, its bright and a very open concept. My artist was Timea. I sent her a picture of the idea I wanted and when I got there she had turned it into a really awesome design. She did a great job making it original and unique. Something no one else would have. I was very impressed with the whole experience and would definitely go there again!

I absolutely love the talent and the overall vibe of this tattoo studio. The location, nestled in the breathtaking Bow Valley, makes for a serene drive to get there and beautiful mountain views during sittings. While the views are great the artists are what makes this studio exceptional. There is a calming feeling as soon as you enter the studio, that could easily be mistaken for an art gallery, and everyone there is welcoming and happy to discuss your next piece of body art. This is a successful business but don't be surprised to see the significant others and children of artists pop in for a quick visit as clearly those that work out of this studio are a big family. If you are looking for a beautiful custom tattoo from an artist that cares about what they are putting on your body, go and meet with the Samurais, or one of the special guest tattooers that frequent the studio and start your journey in beautiful custom body art!

The staff are very friendly and my experience there was great. My friend and I walked in and got tattoos and they were quick and did very good work. In the middle of my session I got very lightheaded and felt as though I needed to take a break. My artist, Dan, and the other artists around me were very accommodating and helped me feel better before finishing up. They tried to make me feel comfortable and calm. Overall I would highly recommend this place and when I come visit Canmore again I will most likely come back.

All the artist work here is amazing but I didn’t have a good experience. I had booked with micheal may and unfortunately had to get surgery so my financial situation wasn’t good already putting $200 down I had messaged him asking if I could just get something small done and had messaged him a month in advance didn’t hear anything back from him and 2 days before my appointment I was notified that he doesn’t do small tattoos which is okay but he had also notified me that he had already booked my spot with someone else. So I lost out on $200 and gave more than enough notice without hearing anything back. But all the artists are amazing and so is his work I would just be more careful next time.

Awesome experience. New hubby and I wanted some tattoos at the end of our Banff honeymoon and couldn't be happier with our NWS and Jesse James experience. Super talented artist, clean shop, nice guys to hang with for a couple hours, really awesome. Might be hard to get in but totally worth it! Someday we'll be back!

My friend and I called on a sunday morning asking for two walk ins. We met with the owner Don who spent hours with us talking about what we wanted, drawing up designs, and tattooing us. He kept the shop open just for us and the tattoos are fantastic. The shop itself Is large and very clean. Great environment to get a tattoo.

Unfortunately, my experience with New World Samurai has been anything but wonderful. I had wanted to get a tattoo with Michael Brito for years. I was finally able to book a consultation in February of this year. We decided to book my appointment for a weekend in August. However, I was accepted into my Master program and the orientation conflicted with the weekend in August that my tattoo was booked for. I immediately e-mailed him May and tried to reschedule. He initially responded and said we could reschedule but went silent after that. I emailed again in July and August and received no response from him till after the weekend of my would-have-been tattoo appointment. To me, it seems extremely unprofessional to leave a client hanging for ~2 months. It also seems extremely unprofessional to keep the entirety of my deposit when no work has actually gone into creating my tattoo or working with me on rescheduling (I think a 50/50 split would have been more than fair). Basic human decency was completely lost in my dealings with this shop (Michael specifically) and I will be absolutely sure to not recommend any of the people I know to go here.
