Specifically asked for almost no shading on my tattoo, and the stencil was perfect, but the tattoo came out extremely dark with shading. He was also about 15 minutes late and the appointment was 30 minutes but I was charged for the hour. My two cartilage piercings were also both put about 2cm away from where I asked for them, and they are in very weird looking spots. My friend received a crooked belly button piercing that has to be grown over and re-done, and they told her she signed a waiver so they dont have to do anything and that they never place them crookedly.

The best place for piercings! This is a super friendly spot, with clean, sterile practices. Lots of jewelry options too! I love my new multi-colour Daith jewel. I haven't been there for a tattoo, but the artwork that the artist's do here is outstanding! If you are looking for a tattoo or piercing, this is THE place to go.

I connected with Billie a month in advance of a trip driving to NS from Ontario and he was really positive and said he could definitely work on my friend and I during a 5-day window I'd be in Nova Scotia. Later on, my friend went in in person to do a consult and was told that he was booked and he couldn't do it. He said he forgot about the email correspondance with me. Later I emailed asking what happened and he said he'd talk to the manager to see what could be done. No one responded to either of us after four days. Really disappointing because if we'd known Adept Studios treated potential clients like this, we'd have planned to go elsewhere but now it's too late to book with most other studios.

My daughter has had piercings at the Bedford location, today my son had his first tattoo at the Halifax location. They were AMAZING! It was a short notice booking, my son is 18 so I couldn't be in with him but the shop manager gladly took a couple pics while he was getting his tattoo done to send me. Went in to get a memorial tattoo and was called the day prior to move my appointment by 30 minutes, no big deal, it actually worked out better and I agreed. I was called again 30 minutes before my appointment and asked if I would be willing to move it ahead another 30 minutes and I said no. I already moved it once and I was pretty much already there and didn't want to wait around any further. I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment time, called and let them know I was here and then I stood outside for 40 minutes without hearing back so finally I called and requested my deposit back and left. Very disappointing experience and I'm unlikely to return.

This is one of the cleanest tattoo shops I have ever been in. When you go into the shop every single person is friendly, it’s a great atmosphere. It’s one of the only shops I have been to that brings you in for a consult before booking your appointment, so it allows you and your artist to make sure your getting exactly what you want. I went to Amber, not only is is beyond talented but she also keeps you laughing through the whole session. Greg who does the piercings is hands down the coolest most professional one out there. Don’t second guess booking with adept, you will absolutely love it.

I'm not the most experienced with piercings due to a number of previous infections/scarring, but this place has me converted! I got my nose pierced at the Halifax location, quite a while ago, and the piercer seemed very uninterested in what he was doing. Jump ahead a few month and I visit the Bedford location, where I am meet by a woman who was helpful and lead me to her colleague. One who was more knowledgeable in her in the area I was inquiring about. The colleague however was very condesending. I would recommend doing research on the piercing ( location/ring/gage/business) or tattoos (style/placement/artist) you want to get. Ask friends and read reviews! I however would not recommend this business.

My first contact was via email with the manager. Very quick response and friendly emails back and forth. When I arrived at the shop a few days after talking to manager I was the first customer of the day! Greeted by a friendly, cutie at cash and helped right away. Was my first visit to the shop and the atmosphere was very comfortable with friendly faces to put me at ease. The piercer was amazing! Made me feel very comfortable under his care and answered all questions I had, even the crazy ones! Amazingly, friendly guy that has the most perfect attitude for doing what he does. I would go back in a heartbeat and I am sure I will! Thank you all, for making my first experience an awesome one :)

I got an extremely bad piercing done in Sydney and called Adept to fix it! They got me in that same day and the piercer was super professional, explained what went wrong when the first person in Sydney did it, and even explained how it should have been done and will be done better. He educated me on the anatomy a bit and mentioned that he does annual courses so he always has the most current information available and also had his certifications on the walls too. Super clean as well! Once I'm all healed from the first piercings we had to remove, I'm absolutely going back to him to get them done properly from someone I feel I can trust.

I had work done by Travis. A simple ankh. It was done very poorly, the shading went outside of the line work, and the black was not well saturated at all. It was spotty and the line work was not even close to perfectly straight I had it touched up by Travis after it healed giving him the benefit of the doubt. To fix the shading going outside of the line work he just made the loop of the ankh fatter, which distorted the ankh completely. Even after the touch up the black was poorly saturated and the line work was a mess. I was very dissappinted as an ankh is such a simple design, it was hard to see how it could be so poorly executed. I contacted the shop and to their credit they did offer for me to come in again to have it touched up, but why would I ever allow him to touch it up again after the initial touch up made things worse.. I appreciate their willingness to fix the issue but I ended up going to a better shop and having it covered up, and had the ankh redone on my other wrist. I am sure the other artists at adept may be more skilled but if my experience represents their standard, stay away. It is not worth it. It ended up costing me time and significant money to have it covered up by a more skilled artist at a different shop. Honestly, I would never go back there based on the quality of the work I received.

I recently got my forward helix pierced here, I didn't plan on getting it pierced that night, and we showed up about 15 minutes before they closed but the lady at the desk and the piercer were both very pleasant! He asked me if I wanted a stud or a hoop, which was a nice choice! When I was filling out the form, I needed to provide the ID on my drivers license, I had never done this before but he told me exactly what to do and even though I accidentally wrote it on the line for a social media username, he wasn't bothered at all:) In the picture the forward helix is the small stud at the top of my ear.

My tattoo was very poorly done. I asked for bright colours, it turned out very dark and the colour leaked. I got my tattoo less than a month ago and it already looks faded. What was supposed to be a beautiful easy tattoo now has to try and get fixed by a real tattoo artist that knows what he's doing. The man I had at adept is not a professional and wold not recommend this place to anyone. Not happy with the result at all.

I recently went to adept tattoo, had a whole arm peace planned with my 11 month old puppy Brooklyn portrait starting at sholder, I went first time paid 150 dollar deposit, had to stand outside for almost 45 mins ok. Then got an outline of tattoo which took close 2 hours. Will be posting pics of outline as well I was really worried when I saw outline but friends said give him a chance. I went back for my next appointment and again waited outside for almost an hour. Finally I get in so 2.5 hours im charged this time. So up too 700 dollars and my time plus Deposit 150 thats almost 900 I email artist he emailed back and blamed the tattoo being horrible on me saying I was in the sun ???? And changed pictire at last minute. Regardless they called me changed apointment last week to difderent time. Call me yeaterday to cancel :( I asked for deposit back they refused the manager that is i also emailed owner With no response..... Now i have to pay someone else to try and fix the massacre on my chest and arm. So um professional Sorry guys I feel bad for people that get ripped off like this its really not right in this day and age. Show some karma at least a bit Adept tattoos = terrible work and you will be scared for life wirh something like what I got.......

Andrew / Bo did my ear piercings today 3 on each side. Not only was he extremely professional but took extra precautions to ensure everything was clean and that I left happy with my new piercings. I got my helix pierced a couple months ago and had a hoop placed. The second day I had it, I went to spray the cleaning solution and gently moved my hair outta way, I BARELY nudged the hoop and the ball between the hoop just fell out. I emailed the piercer what to do and waited for a reply for days and didn't get a response, so eventually the hoop fell out after 5 days and I had to find another earring to leave in my ear for 2 months.

Received a very amateur tattoo, extremely poor quality and they would not correct as the placement was on my foot. Understanding that I received the tattoo in November and had to wear closed footwear over the winter, they would not guarantee nor would they take a look to clean it up. I reached out and provided the opportunity to have them correct as the quality of the tattoo was so bad for a place that has such a good name. I have other tattoos on my feet from other less popular tattoo locations and they still look brand new. I am extremely upset with the quality and less than impressed with their customer service. Sadly, when people ask me where I received it, I let them know - word of mouth is the best and worst advertising ! Would NOT recommend.
