I was booked for a tattoo and then the second lockdown happened. Good point posted on their Instagram that they would be contacting people once they were sure of a reopening date. When they reopened Katrina reached out to book my appointment and was super accommodating. I was tattoo by Hailey who is so sweet and super talented. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and have had no problems. The staff here are extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable going for piercings alone. Although my piercer, Steph, is no longer there, I look forward to dropping by for my next two piercings in the near future to be done by Tyler. Making appointments have never been a problem, and they responded to my e-mail inquiry in under 20 minutes. They are a business which runs on cash only which may be a negative for some people, but the slight hassle of getting cash out is worth knowing I am being pierced by someone who knows that they are doing, and are always just an e-mail or phone call away if I have any questions. As for the price, it is comparable to other shops in Ontario, just spend the money and get it done properly (like here).

Horrible Customer Service will never ever go back and I would never recommend this place!! I've been here once before (last year 2015, Caroline was my artist) she made it an awesome experience, which is why I had returned this year June 2016. I made an appointment and paid my $100 deposit, the receptionist told me to come back in 2 hours. I'm from out of town so had to kill time near by. I came back 2 hours later for them to tell me that I had to wait another 2 hours as they mistakenly booked me when my assigned tattoo artist (Mike) somehow already had someone else booked. After 5 hours of waiting I then got to meet my artist who was (Mike) he was just plain out rude, spoke down to me and told me it simply cannot be done. I kept altering my tattoo until he then said he can do it. When he drew the tattoo, it looked awful and wasn't even drawn out the way I wanted it. I then asked if it can be tweaked a little bit to how I really wanted it. He got upset, was mumbling to his co-works and swearing saying I wasted his time. I then said okay fine can I have my deposit back and walked out of there with my entire day wasted and been spoken too soo rudely. It completely ruined my tattoo experience!!

First time in 5 years getting a tattoo done somewhere else. I was recommended thru a mommy group where to go and good Pointe has many artists that suit your budget and style. I choose Shannon. She is a kid at heart herself and does unique designs for different kinds of people. I asked for an unicorn horn with a bow and the date to my anniversary. She had many sizes and colors to choose from. I am going back to her again Mar 27. So excited. All artists have Instagram as well and the management will reach out to you within an hr or 24 hrs. Deposit is required upon booking but yes save Save save for that tattoo

I'd never been to Oakville before I came to this shop. I booked a thigh tattoo with Aaron Hill who is there on every second Saturday (I believe but I could be wrong) - I was honestly very nervous as I knew Aaron would have to tattoo over scars from 10 years ago. A friendly gentleman greeted me at the front desk. Aaron was a great guy who was easygoing and laid-back. Getting a tattoo was a relaxing experience, and Aaron did everything he could to make sure I didn't feel uncomfortable. Having Aaron tattoo my thigh is something I am really proud of, and it has given me a reason to visit Oakville again!

I wish I had done all my tattoos here... I can only vouch for Sam (I haven’t been to anyone else); but, she’s incredibly talented. She did a coverup for me, and I’m so happy with it- especially considering that the original artist, who had twice as much experience as her, said it would be impossible to change ????. Everyone I’ve met, who works here, is super nice and friendly! At the shop I used to go to, I always felt kind of judged when I came in - like I didn’t pass their test, for who their clients should be... I was greeted warmly, and everyone treated me as an equal. Also, all the artist’s books are displayed- you don’t need to ask for them; and, the entire place smelled like antiseptic. Can’t wait for my next appointment.

You could tell all the artist were happy to be back doing their art and it was an extremely positive environment! This a long over due review. I loved getting my tattoo here. I always say finding a good tattoo artist is like finding a good hairstylist. Luke was amazing. The people are all very friendly and professional and they made me and my friend feel very comfortable. heck we were watching movies and joking with all the other artists as if we'd known them for years. The place is super clean and bright- not a dark dingy dungeon like some places I have seen. If it is your first time getting a tattoo or your eightieth, I feel like good points is the place to go. Great people and outstanding work. I will go back for tattoos (and going to put them to the test for some piercings too! :P)!

Had an amazing experience @goodpointtattoos yesterday with @domtattoos. Dom is amazing. She gave me two tattoos. One was an original and the other was a refresh of an 11 year old tattoo. Both are gorgeous but the one I love the most is the refresh because I cant get over what an amazing job Dom did to bring it back to life. I was told by two other tattoo artist that it couldn't be done but Dom did it and now it looks better than the original one that was done 11 years ago. I had piercings done here years ago and the staff were always friendly, so I had no problem recommending my mom to get her tattoo here. She went in on her own for a consultation and was treated extremely poorly by Mike. He told her she was wasting his time and to "figure out what you want, lady." If it weren't for the $150 deposit ($150?? For a tiny tattoo?) I would have had her go elsewhere. She came home nearly in tears from the consultation. An extremely frustrating process, and heartbreaking to see my mom go through that. I will not be recommending anyone else to Good point, ESPECIALLY not with Mike.

I got 6 different tattoos done in 8 different session by Sam Tyson. She is an amazing artist and was extremely sad when I had my last appointment as I was moving shortly. I really hope she visits near Colorado so I can get more amazing work done by her! She has helped me through so much and started crying with how well she covered up my self harm scars. She's so sweet and highly recommend her. Maddy who was always working the front desk when I visited was also EXTREAMLY nice and she even does SFX makeup which is pretty awesome. Tyler, who used to be a piercer there, has done so many piercings for me and has even helped heal and fix some other peircings I got done by other people. He was so extremely helpful and did things he really didn't have to. Steph, who was also a piercer there, also stuck needles in me many times and was extremely sad to see her leave the shop. Everyone at Good Point that I have had the pleasure of being their canvas has been extremely friendly and welcoming. Two years well spent.

I got 5 piercings done by Stef in the past month. She is amazing and has made piercing such an enjoyable experience that I can't stop going back for more! She is great at giving information and making your piercing as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend Good Point for any piercings that you need! Piercings I got were nipple, chest dermals and septum.

My experience at Good Point Tattoo was absolutely AMAZING!!! I had been tattooed by Katrina (the manager). She is very friendly, kind and understand what she brings to the table as a tattooer. She made me feel very welcomed and comfortable during my tattoo. She kept asking during the tattoo if everything was ok and if I needed to be moved to be more comfortable. Being able to just talk to her made me feel very relaxed. I have now 7 tattoos and this is probably my best experience EVER at a shop. Thank up Katrina for being the most amazing tattoo artist I have been to. If you are looking for a shop that will make you feel safe, comfortable and overall happy. I highly recommend coming here.

I have had tattoos done in lots of shops in Ontario and I have never had such a horror show of an experience. They won't show the customer pictures of the tattoo before the day of, which I have never encountered before, and this turned out to be a recipe for disaster. They claimed that I would be able to ask for small changes on the day of. I sent 3 reference pictures and a sketch of what I wanted so they had no excuse for creating a design that had some important details wrong. When I arrived, I asked for changes (that seemed small to me but ended up taking an inexplicable amount of time) and the artist tried but every revision she showed me was not what I was asking for. It ended up taking more than an hour to make the revisions, and it got super awkward to keep asking them to change it. It took so long that I was really flustered. It got to the point that they told me they wouldn't have time to finish the tattoo on that day (they said they would just do the outline) so there was a lot of pressure to agree on the design. In addition, they said that if I rebooked it would cost extra. I had booked this a while ago, budgeted a certain amount for it, and travelled more than an hour to get to the shop so I was not happy with the idea of coming back on another day. This was not the only problem. First, they booked me in for a certain time and when I was already on my way there they called to push back the appointment time. Second, they quoted me one price and then charged me more. Third, I specifically asked for a certain size and I ended up getting one that was much bigger. I was so flustered by the back and forth over the design that I didn't register how much bigger it was until it was too late. I can't understand how these details that were agreed upon before the fact could be all thrown out the window. It was incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time and budget. Finally, this place has lots of good reviews, but look closely at the bad ones before you decide to go with them. You will notice other comments about their rudeness and lack of professionalism, but the thing that stands out to me is that the shop owner doesn't take any responsibility for any problems. She is defensive and blames the person making these comments. This is what happened in my case as well - I emailed the shop to give my feedback and I was told that it was my responsibility, I should have rebooked, and they can't "read my mind." The shop owner said she doesn't understand why I felt so awkward and pressured to agree to a design after going back and forth on the design for such a long period of time - but I was feeling awkward and pressured BECAUSE the process had taken so ridiculously long. They claimed that they can't show designs before the day of because of covid. I can't understand this - have they never heard of email to send a design? I have gotten another tattoo during covid and this is how the other shop did it. It's easy to pick a tattoo artist based on their work but it's harder to know how the shop they work out of is run, and this one is just horrible.

Both times, I started by communicating with Katrina via email and she was super quick to respond and able to give me feedback from the beginning. The shop has such a friendly atmosphere - everyone has a great attitude and seems to just enjoy creating art with their clients. I'll say again that Hailey is a great artist to work with, genuinely interested in my ideas and able to take a concept and really turn it into a great tattoo. The shop itself is very clean and not intimidating at all. I’ve gotten four tattoos done here and I love it! I’ve been to other tattoo shops but GoodPoint is always so clean and professional. The atmosphere here is so comforting and I usually find myself talking to other people getting tattooed while I’m getting tattooed! I had Dom do all three tattoos and she has the best attention to detail! I always get so many compliments on the tattoos she does. I had her do a super personal tattoo and she made me feel so safe. She’s also started my sleeve and she was so calming and still had so much energy after tattooing for 8 hours! I absolutely love this place and it’ll always be my number one choice! 11/10 recommend!

Had a piece done by Dijon a few days ago. I gave him a basic concept and a few ideas I liked to go off of and the design he came up with was like nothing I could have imagined. It was absolutely stunning and showed that Dijon was a true artist. The rest of the staff was fantastic, the shop was clean and the whole place had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The only negative I could possibly think of would be Dijons musical choices. From Death Metal to ear bleeding pop. Geez buddy, pick a genre ???? overall it was a fantastic experience and I’m definitely going to have another piece done by Dijon

Phenomenal tattoo shop. I've had custom work done by Cory Ferguson who owns the shop. They have a good group of artists and the shop is run and organized really well. They recently started offering flash tattoos as well as custom work from certain artists. Highly recommend this shop. Piercing services are also available. Cash only business (TD Bank is literally a stone throw away), and they're in a plaza so parking etc is easy.

Got my nose pierced here back in August. Piercer was really nice, friendly and knowledgeable about piercing care. 1.5- 2 weeks in, the piercing healed nicely until my boyfriend kissed me. Not joking, the entire piercing was pulled out from a 2 second kiss. I went to a piercing shop in London (where I go to school) to ask them to put it back in and they refused. They said the quality of the jewelry did not pass standards and they would not be liable for it. Exact words “this is a one size fits all piece of junk made in China”. He then said that not only was he not surprised that it fell out so easily (because it was a twist in, did not have a backing), but that they pierced it in an awful spot that made my nose look longer and wider. Pretty pissed off that I paid $100 for the piercing, only giving it 2 stars because the guy who did it was nice.

I got my tattoo here done about 7 months ago and it bothers me that I haven't left a review so here it is. My review reflects: - Not being provided any sort of design prior to my appointment - Me as well as another older man were standing outside for maybe half an hour as the front door was locked even when the store was to be open. When the staff member present was confronted about this they simply snapped "it wasn't locked..?" which it was. - I asked the individual running the front desk where my artist was as I had been waiting there since before and now after my appointment time and he seemed to not know what was going on. By that, he said she was "running late" but definitely reluctant to provide any assistance. - When my artist finally came out (an hour and half after my appointment time), she did not greet me, acknowledge me, or anything. She came out with - what I interpreted as, due to the tardiness - a rushed, last minute design (Keep in mind this was not just a walk-in or anything) and said "come here" to size it to my arm. - I believe the tattooing process may have begun 2 hours after my actual appointment time. I don't see why I couldn't have simply been told that my artist needed more time, and I could have come in later instead of sitting idle for 2 hours, confused due to the lack of communication. - Finally, I feel like I was a little pressured with the design. At the end of the day, sure, it was my call and I could have halted the process at any moment. Maybe it was because I was impatient from sitting there for so long, or because It was my first time getting a large tattoo, that I was compliant in what the artist was pushing. But the final piece was definitely not what I had envisioned. To conclude, I do not recommend getting work done at this parlor if you expect timeliness, communication, or general accommodation in terms of both logistics or design. Note that I have not included names, and am not writing this with bad intentions. I only think that it is fair I share my experience so others may factor it into their own decisions. It should be made clear: the artwork I received was not bad. I have received many compliments. Its simply not what I envisioned, whoever part of that fault lies in myself, so no stars were deducted for this part of my critique.

I noticed a review on here about horrible customer service. Here is another one about the dispute of a deposit left with them... As a customer this is the last thing you want to here from a company... "Do you have any paperwork saying you left a deposit with us? We don’t have you on file. Anyone can come in here and tell us that they left money with us over two years ago and we can’t just believe it. We are not a bank, we do not hold money for you. You waited over two years, you failed to do so. You lose your deposit." They are asking me to come up with proof of actually having paid a deposit, meanwhile it's their policy and on top of it all they have no record of me ever getting a tattoo. Nice way to keep your administration organised guys and what an amazing way to take ownership. NEVER GO TO THESE GUYS EVER... There are tons of tattoo shops out there that DO GET IT RIGHT!

i've gotten all three of my tattoos done here (both shoulders and my inner forearm) by Sam and i have nothing but great things to say! everyone at the shop is so amazing and is really friendly, which makes it a nice atmosphere to get tattooed in, which helps those who are a bit nervous, like myself. not only are they nice to each other, but they're all very helpful to the customers and answer any questions you may have and help with whatever you need. one thing i especially like is if you need a break and you say so, they don't get mad about it and they let you have one, which is so good. as for Sam, she is an amazing artist and i trust her 100% with my ideas and we work together on what the end result is gonna look like; which always pleases me. if you're thinking about getting a tattoo, get it from here, you won't regret it. i know i'm gonna come back to get more :).

I don't like leaving a bad review, but I wasn't happy with my experience. I went here for my first tattoo recently and the process was just complicated. In fairness I'm not sure how many of my issues stem from covid restrictions/protocol. The booking process and discussion of the design was all done via email. It was a lot of back an forth, and it's not always easy to communicate effectively through email. After many emails over weeks of communication the manager suggested talking to my artist on the phone which I wanted to do. However, I was told the artist wouldn't be available to talk on the phone until after the date my tattoo was booked for. The tattoo was simple and I just had a couple small requests and questions as it was my first tattoo. This could have been resolved with a 5 minute phone conversation, but again I was told by the manager that the artist was not available and I could cancel my appointment to talk to her if I liked. I decided to work it out through email because I wanted the tattoo, and didn't want to push it back. When I arrived for my appointment to see my design the artist had read the emails and had included things that the manager said would not be possible which I was happy for. Again would have been much easier if I could have had a phonecall, or if the artist had just replied to the emails rather than the manager... The tattoo went well. However because the artist was running late for me, I suppose she was late for her next tattoo and I felt rushed out. I wish I had gotten more aftercare advise beyond the aftercare sheet , as I had no clue what to do. Another issue is that before I booked my appointment I asked if 6 days would be enough time for an ankle tattoo to heal as I wear high top work boots which may cause friction. I was told it would be fine. It has not been fine... the friction is causing the tattoo to be red and sore. If I had known it would have been this bad I would have booked an appointment allowing for it to have more healing time. Response to the owner: I did change the design, however I don't think changing a color and adding a small flower is a massive change, especially when I asked 2 weeks in advance. It would have been more effective to communicate over the phone rather than email. As for sizing I got the same size tattoo that I requested all along. When I was told the flower could not be done because of the size I agreed. I was pleasantly surprised when the artist was able to fit it in. Again it would have been more effective if I had been communicating with the artist as she knows her capabilites. As for the placement I was told to move my tattoo from the side of my foot because it doesn't hold ink well, which I agreed to. There was never a mention of my ankle being a bad spot due to difficulty healing. If that had been mentioned I may have been persuaded to move the tattoo elsewhere, but as I have not had one I didn't realize how the healing process went.

Great expirence. My friend and I did a walk int the other day and saw Aaron He made our simple little tattoo ideas even better in a matter of minutes and then took quite a bit of time setting up which was good because you could tell everything was clean, neat and ready to go. Everyone was so friendly. I could see why (after reading reviews) people would think the front desk staff is "rude" but really they are straight to the point because they just want to help you as best and fast as they can so you can get exactly what you ask for. I find it efficient and not rude. Honestly couldn't of asked for a better first tattoo expirence expecially when I know a bad expirence could make first timers change their mind about their tattoo. Found a tad on the pricier side but after the expirence we had there, I'm not complaining one bit. Well worth it. Oh, almost forgot, tattoo itself is amazing. Looks great. We will see how it heals. This place is great depending on who your artist is. Sam has done a few of mine and some friends tattoos, and she's amazing. So gentle, easy going and really sweet. I'd highly recommend her. However, Mike on the other hand is a whole other story. He is so rude to customers, very loud and outspoken. And from what i've read and also witnessed, a lot of things people want from him he "can't" do. i don't know if it's laziness or if he just sucks, but i wasn't impressed. He is rough with the needles and spending two hours with him is just too much. I don't know how he still has a job there, because he isn't professional what so ever and i was very disappointed. Other than that, the shop is very clean, and the rest of the artists are incredibly nice and funny.

Had a tattoo done 4 years ago with them with no issues from a man. This time I went in and had a small arm tattoo the black ink was perfect healed nice and no issues but the blue ink inside a penny size heart is horribly infected! I went to the Dr.'s on the 5th day when the pain felt wrong and puss started coming out of it along with inflammation to the point it hurt in my sleep. I'm on pill antibiotics and ointment and its been a week and its still not perfect and the heart tattoo looks terrible. So I went in to get advice and I got three very typical young uncaring girls saying the puss, pain, swelling and inflammation are normal healing and I may need a retouch and the best is as I'm leaving they say "thanks for stopping by". Seriously, I was speechless! I was on too much Benadryl and Advil to respond the way I should have but what's done is done. At very least they could have said "hope you feel better" that's not admitting fault or maybe we can retouch for free since you've spent on antibiotics and pain pills and had a week of sleepless nights. But no "thanks for stopping by"! Its now been almost two weeks and I'm still in pain and it definitely needs a retouch but I would never get a retouch from them. I have to add I'm not new to tattooing. I have several and I've never had issues before.
