My wife and I got our first tattoos 3 weeks ago with artist AK. Couldn't be more pleased with the results. I got some dates on my arm, my wife got a design she wanted on her shoulder/back. AK was friendly and professional. He had some good recommendations (without being pushy), and the whole experience was great. Three weeks later, the tattoos look amazing. The lines are clean and sharp, zero blow out. AK is not a machine, but you wouldn't know it by how my tattoo looks -- the numbers on my arm look like they were printed on. Healing was easy -- AK routinely uses Saniderm (if you don't know what it is, you should look it up). When we finally removed the second one after 7 days, the skin was completely healed, and the tattoos looked beautiful. No mess, no fuss. No idea why any artists would not use it. Can't recommend AK (and Chronic Ink) highly enough.

I had a full sleeve done by Joe in the trash polka style a couple years ago, and believe me all of my other tattoos pale in comparison to the work Joe did on my arm. I get compliments on it almost daily. This shop is so professional, clean, and above all each artist is incredibly talented. Whenever anyone asks for a shop recommendation, Chronic Ink is the first place I suggest.

Zeke is an excellent Artist who is extremely patient, pleasant and attentive. Her immediate understanding of the design elements was very comforting and her hand is extremely steady and soothing. I was able to sit through my first ever tattoo appointment with extreme ease due to her impeccable attitude and got not just 1 but 2 tattoos at the same time. My first original visit I gave the team 5 stars. On this most recent encounter it was a very different experience. 1. No responses to multiple emails, left a phone number. No courtesy calls to say they have received anything. 2. Re-direct to choose a different artist from the first artist that did my first piece (nameless here). It was not like I am putting a name on my forehead. I even gave the artist/ shop the option to fill in 75% of the area on their own. 3. People can choose to refuse and select clients, based on whatever reason. This entire idea sharing and lack of consultation is very disappointing, the shop owner should watch what they say back to prospective customers. We are not building rocket ships here folks, I can understand artist refusing clients based on copying someone else’s work.. this was far from it. Two weeks wasted, back to square one!

Got my first tattoo with Chronic Ink back in September. The experience and end product was superb! Had a custom design by Zeke who was friendly and accomodating start to finish. The design arrived a bit late (~1 day), but very happy with it and the edits made based on my suggestions. The shop is open and inviting, everything was done very professionally. Pain-free, enjoyable experience. Thanks, Zeke, for the tattoo. I absolutely love it!

Went in to do a quote on my forearm and roman numeral dates on my chest. I wasn't sure on how it would go since it was my first tattoo, but I've heard good things about Chronic Ink in general. My artist was Steve Chen. I had my quotes/dates and font types ready and Steve assisted me in finding the best layout for placement. He gave me good feedback and I ended up implementing his advice into my placements. Steve was very patient and was thorough with the inking and despite being quick - 30 minutes - The quote I had done was very true to what I had expected it to be. He touched up different sections and the end result was very commendable. The chest piece was the same experience. The artist did not rush and it was pleasing to know that he was doing the piece to the best of his ability. I would highly recommend Chronic Ink and the artist, Steve Chen to others.

I just finished my first tattoo at Chronic Ink - Markham location. Chris Liu was my artist in realism style. I went from no tattoos to a full sleeve. Honestly, I had an absolutely incredible experience at the shop! Chris was extraordinary in his customer service, design abilities, and tattooing skills. The counter staff were extremely friendly and welcoming; the manager was especially professional and kind. He took the time to learn clients' names. The entire shop feels like a very sophisticated and classy business. The other artists are friendly and inquisitive. The sleeve healed perfectly, and my aftercare instructions were spot-on. I would highly recommend that anyone considering a tattoo investigate Chronic Ink, and sit with an artist for a consult. If you are looking for a realism styled tattoo, Chris is definitely your man. She gave me some feedback on my placement to compensate for aging and was very nice to talk to while I was getting inked. My only thing is that my tattoo faded more than usual as it healed, but I have no problems going back and getting a touch up with her! I would love to have another piece done by her.

Great people and service, however getting a nose piercing here is next to a scam... shouldn't cost 90$ for a nose piercing and stud. Also they charge you backings which honestly is just a cash grab tbh..... I wouldn't go here again just because it is overpriced.... 3 stars for service would be 5 if it weren't such a RIP off imo.

Zeke was the artist that did my tattoo! It was phenomenal. Zeke did an amazing job and I would highly recommend getting a tattoo from them as I am considering getting another from Zeke. The staff and other artists were very nice and cordial. The atmosphere was awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better first tattoo experience. The only thing I recommend is to make sure the price is hammered out before going in. It was my fault for not letting them know a budget, so they had increased the price of the tattoo slightly when I went in to get it done due to the sheer amount of work needed. But again, they were super accommodating to my concerns even though it was fault for not voicing my concerns when I had the consultation. I would definitely come here again, and I wish them all the success Markham can offer.

Three of my friends and I walked in to get some piercings. There was no wait so we were able to get one piercing each and we were out within about 20 minutes. The price is a little bit steep compared to other places I’ve gone to but that’s probably because they pierce with titanium jewelry. I got a third lobe and paid ~ $62 (plus tip). The piercer, Vince, was nice enough and professional so I’d say overall it was a good experience.

Just finished a back to back session at Chronic Ink for my first tattoo (Forearm half sleeve) and I couldn’t be more pleased. After spending a long time researching artists/shops, I am very glad I went with Chronic Ink. From the consultation to the end of my second session, these guys were super friendly and professional. I was set up to get work done by the talented Damon Han. Initially it was a 9 month wait to get my appointment but I got VERY lucky that a spot opened up for me within a month and a half. The 9 month wait for Damon is very understandable as he is in high demand as well as their roster of artists. These are award winning artists who I would consider some of the best in the country. My experience with Damon was excellent. From discussing my idea to the actual process of getting the work done. He nailed my concept and the outcome was better than expected. Chronic ink practices the best health and safety procedures. Their shop was really bright, clean and the tools they use are state of the art. For each session they open a brand new sterilized kit. One of the coolest things I experienced was seeing senior artists like Damon take time and mentor apprentices to become better at their craft. You can tell these guys are very “team” oriented and look after their own. Shout out to the front desk staff Ron, Raymond and Chen for being accommodating to the clients. Anyone who is looking to get top notch tattoo work, I highly recommend the Chronic Ink team. I can’t wait to get my tattoo finished and eventually get another piece from them.

Had my tattoo done year 5 yrs ago. I was excited to get my second tattoo here apprently they have really good artist and at that time prices are decent. I had karen as an artist she did an amazing job and was very understanding as I was running late, but there was a lack of communication in regards to was I want to get done. I asked to tweak the tattoo design I want, as I want an original piece, but she did copy the exact same tattoo that dr woo did. I asked her to tweak it a little during our session as we dont have enough time to do another draft as I was late and she had a dinner to attend to. She agreed to tweak it while doing the tattoo but to my surprise she copied the exact tattoo of dr woo, which is only my reference or idea of want I want to get. Obviously it's already done, theres nothing else I can do about it. Although, she agreed to tweak the design to her own idea while doing my tattoo. Which obviously she did not.

Today I had an appointment with Joanna for two tattoos. Both of the tattoos that I wanted to get meant a lot to me, one was my father’s handwriting as he passed away in November, and the other my grandmothers cursive. Back tracking, my friend has gone to Joanna and I have admired her tattoos for a long time, so when I decided I wanted to get mine I knew immediately that I wanted to book with Joanna. The whole process of me contacting Chronic Ink to me getting the actual tattoo was seamless. They were very prompt to answering emails, and calling me before hand to make sure I came to the appointment prepared (eating a meal). The studio itself is amazing, open concept so while you’re waiting you can see others working, extremely clean and all staff are welcoming. Joanna is very professional and VERY good at her job, I could not have asked for better tattoos. I can’t stop looking at them and getting so happy with how they look. I will definitely be going back to Chronic Ink for any other tattoos that I may get. Thank you again ❤️

It's beautiful. The man at the consulting table was kind and friendly although a few at the front desk were not as kind. Cold even. When I asked about the size and the pricing the man at the front desk asked how much it would be to his co worker and for a 2 1/2" tattoo circle she said it would be $185. Shocking. I booked for the tattoo for the following week and the artist was very precise and polite. It was done well but I wouldn't say it's worth $185. Overall beautifully done.

I got my first ever piercings (standard lobe) from Kaitlin. She was super friendly and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I was really nervous and because of this I asked her to move the markings many times. I've heard stories of piercers getting annoyed when the client isn't 100 percent happy with the placement, but this was not the case with Kaitlin. She wanted me to have the best experience and she always asked me if I was okay with everything. No doubts about it, Chronic Ink is amazing!

First timer here. Pitched an idea to the team via email through their website, and I was matched with Zeke. However I got cold feet and decided to change the idea last minute to something else, but Zeke remained just as enthusiastic and professional with my new idea which I appreciated! While tattooing, they were impressively quick yet still very meticulous (they moved quickly but it felt efficient, not rushed) and they checked in with me every so often to make sure I was comfortable. I like to stick the pain out in silence, so I also very much appreciated being looked after as well. I was nervous at how it would turn out but the end piece is absolutely beautiful and I feel really proud to wear it. The pricing is definitely more than fair given the quality. While crowded, the building was very clean and all the artists practiced stringent sanitation procedures. The front staff was super patient with me as well - something personal came up and I inquired about changing my appointment time somewhat last minute; initially March was the next booking which I thought was understandable and opted to keep the initial appointment date, but a few days later they took the time to call me and let me know of a last minute cancellation to try and accommodate my circumstances. I was really impressed with how they went above and beyond with their service! Thank you to them as well!

I recently got a sleeve from Myke and my experience was nothing less than amazing. I was originally supposed to go and get a smaller tattoo from another shop but after seeing 2 of my friends get sleeves from Myke, I immediately changed my mind and booked with Myke at the Chronic Ink Markham location. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable by greeting you as you enter, asking if you'd like some water, etc. Since I got a sleeve, I spent plenty of time in the shop and saw a lot of amazing things. I got to not only witness how my own artist works, but I also observed the workflow of other artists and it really seemed like they were enjoying themselves and were excited about the art they were creating. As a fellow artist, the best work comes from what excites you and that excitement pushes an artist to go above and beyond.That is exactly what I saw with Myke and what I saw with the other artists there. I just got my first tattoo done at Chronic! Chiao was my artist, and holy hell it was the most relaxing and amazing experience ever! I'm not a fan of needles at all so I was a bit nervous to have my tattoo done. Chiao was very delicate with her work and extremely detailed! I got a dog bone tattoo with my dog's name on it in the middle on my upper forearm. A smaller tattoo with shading. It turned out better than I had imagined! The staff in general were very helpful in the entire process. Needless to say, come here to get great work done! Whenever my next idea comes to mind I will be back! I am not satisfied nor happy about the service I have received multiple times over the phone when it comes to communication and services from this business. I got a piercing here over a year ago and have been waiting to get my stud changed to a hoop. The first time I called they said that they were able to do the change and I wouldn’t have to wait long but when I got there I waited for almost 2 hours for them to tell me last minute they can’t do it and got sent home which they could have told me before. A few months later the same situation occurred but they booked me in for an appointment this time which made me have a sense of hope to come in to get this procedure finally done but I decided to call again asking for more information and then they tell me last minute once again that they can’t change my jewellery which should have been stated before but apparently “they forgot”. I have felt very disappointed and upset from this shop and so if they keep this up giving false information I will not be returning again or referring any friends of mine to them nor giving them any type of service due to the fact this has happened multiple times and it is now a waste of time both on the phone as well as if I took the time to drive all the way to their shop. Not happy or impressed!

Even though I live 2 hours away, I chose Chronic Ink because their artists work is superior to what I've seen else where. I went to consultations, day of: received my design and got stencilled up and went from there. During the tattoo she ensured it was about my comfort and offered snacks or breaks any time I needed, which made the pain more manageable. I was very pleased with the professionalism of the staff. I went to the main location, got a quote that was close to double the price of the 6 other reputable shops I went to, but was told I could get custom decorated lettering for that price... I sent my sketch to give the artist an idea of what I wanted and when I got there for the appointment 2 days later - the artist didn't even do a sketch of his own! I drove a LONG way to get to this location and he ended up tattooing the exact sketch I sent in - I am NOT an artist so my lettering is not great and it was essentially done the exact way I sent it to them... Don't get me wrong, the artist was nice, the atmosphere was nice, the shop was clean - but when I am told I can get custom lettering with decoration, paying the high price quoted and only getting basic work... that is not cool. I am not heavily tattooed, but I'm not a tattoo newbie either... I wont' be back.

I sent in a rough idea to Chronic Ink and immediately received a reply, suggested me to go in for a consultation with Helen. The day of the consultation, I explained to Helen of what I was looking for, and she recommended some ideas which never came to my mind! 2 weeks later I went in for my session, and the rest was history. First of all, what a clean studio. You could likely eat off their floors (although I wouldn't suggest it). Every inch of their workstation is covered in plastic, including their machines, and everything is so quiet! No loud buzzing here, and sanitation is topnotch. I want to thank Karen for my lovely tattoo, and the front desk staff are all amazing and happy to answer questions or address concerns. I hate calling and would much rather email and their responses are timely and on point. As for the calibre of the work? Outstanding. Truly the best artists in Toronto and their visiting artists are just as good if not better. The wait list is LONG, but I would be worried if I walked into a shop and their waitlist wasn't... It seems they really specialize in large pieces, I got to watch people sit for entire leg sleeves, arm sleeves, entire back pieces, and their staff are art machines who power through like champions. Highly recommended, especially if you want something detailed or realistic, but I have seen tiny tattoos come out this shop too and they are just as lovely.

I was able to snag one of Marina's (@bloom_tattooer) flash designs at the Chronic Ink pop up shop in the Upper Canada mall a couple weeks ago. Marina welcomed me into her chair and showed me the stencil she had ready for me. She was prepared with two different sizes and it was a good thing she did, because I ended up falling in love with the larger size that she had prepared for the piece. We got it placed and then she went to work. There is so much talent in the young Marina and I am so proud of my peony. Thank you so much! The shop experience was very different from any other tattoo shop I had visited before since it was in a mall. The shop was very clean and had a great look to it. They also had Chronic Ink apparel for sale and this bright yellow Porsche in the store; this brought in a lot of foot traffic which I really enjoyed. I wanted someone who was really good at brushstroke, since I wanted my piece to look similar to Chinese brush painting. Had my tattoo done by Karen, who was my top pick. She did a phenominal job at putting my thoughts into art. She was also very light-handed, which was perfect. Payam was a pleasure to speak with and all the staff were generally polite and friendly. I love, love, love my Phoenix tattoo inspired by Harry Potter. This is an open-concept joint. It's very clean and an easy location to find. It was bit pricey and ended up paying more than what I was quoted, but in terms of art work, you get what you pay. For me, it was all about the quality of work. It was an added bonus that she was quick considering how large my Phoenix was. If you are looking for high quality tattoo artwork, I would highly recommend this place.

Had an amazing experience at Chronic, from the time I walked in for my first sit down right through my 4th session. Kevin (the Artist) was absolutely amazing, he took my reference image and educated me on the limitations it posed and how (if I was okay with artistic liberty) he would be able to make what I had presented a whole lot better. And man was he right, he nailed the image completely without loosing the core essence of what I was going for in the reference image. The end result is nothing less than spectacular, the level of detail that Kevin put in is mind boggling, even I find new details every time I look at the piece which is pretty damn awesome. The after care team was equally diligent and informative, from my first session right up to my last they provided me with the same level of information in taking care of my tattoo which was a good touch from my perspective. Overall I can't wait to go back for another piece and would highly recommend Kevin as their artist.

I feel the need to bring my experience forward with Chronic Ink (specifically the location on Yonge Street, Downtown Toronto). I have heard rave reviews and have been looking forward to my trip to Toronto in hopes of being able to get a tattoo from the shop. I walked in Friday evening inquiring if they accept walk ins and the possibility of being able to get some ink done on the weekend sometime during my visit. I explained to the receptionist my ideas and she immediately turned it down. I wanted a floral piece around my wrist that extended to the side of my hand. I didn’t have anything specific in mind, didn’t show a picture, I was pretty flexible, but she from the get go said that the artists would not be comfortable doing such. I found that odd given she had no idea of what I wanted, I was expecting to speak to an artist regarding my ideas and would have easily been flexible according to what they’re comfortable with. She then said something simple would be preferable and that I can call the next day to ask if they have openings depending on artist availability. I called the next day and emailed a photo of a quote I have been wanting done since it’s straight forward. On the phone a lady working reception (not sure if it’s the same women from the night before) told me she would quote a very wide range because she couldn’t speak to an artist at the time. Quoted me $250- $400 but that she can’t see it being anywhere near $400, probably $300 max but she just wanted to play it safe. Went in, got my tattoo done by Matt. This review is not concerning the artist or his work he was very nice and professional. He went to ask the receptionist for a price for the piece and in total in came up to $400, which is crazy. The tattoo took half of an hour. To add, the tattoo I got done is significantly smaller than the reference picture I sent in, another reason why I don’t understand how it justifies charging $400 when the tattoo was MUCH smaller than what I sent in as a reference. I have 13 tattoos, I understand the expenses and I’ve never argued the cost but I just don’t see how it is reasonable to charge that amount for a piece that took 30 minutes. Additionally, the one receptionist in question from the start was not welcoming and quite rude. I was looking forward to this and honestly I’m disappointed with the poor attitude and my experience.

I was a little nervous but she made sure that I was comfortable in the chair and had a really calming presence which made the experience very positive. The photos on the website are stunning. The photos of the work by the guy who was supposed to email me back for a consult were breathtaking. The lack of said consult, even after me emailing a couple of times over a period of several weeks, has turned me off of this chain. If I'm back in Toronto anytime soon, I'll not consider this place at all.

Great service but a busy environment. You don't really meet with an aritst him/herself. You meet with an "advisor" to consult your tattoo and discuss a preliminary design. Pricey, but clean, friendly and nice set up inside.

Myke did an amazing job on the idea I put together and exceeded my expectations! He is talented, focused, respectful, patient and understanding towards my needs. The staff are good, but I would've gave a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the way my service dog was welcomed and the price misunderstanding at the end where they wanted me to pay extra for something that wasn't discussed prior to the service. In the end they acknowledged my concern for the pricing and accomodated me accordingly. Thank you Chronic Ink for being understanding and making my vision to reality!

I got a tattoo at Chronic ink and an average experience. I had sent a couple of images of how I wanted the tattoo to look but when I came to the session the artist only had one of the images, missing was the one image that illustrated the tonal quality of the tattoo. He tried to duplicate the tonal reference on the spot with Photoshop but it wasn't like the version I had sent so he ended up inking areas that were supposed to be blank. Now I'm looking into trying to laser remove the sections that were supposed to be blank and touch up which is going to be a very expensive procedure. Because of my review I got a call from the store manger to see what they could do to help. I thought this was a fantastic gesture and am now going back in to see if there's something we can do to make me satisfied. I just have to say how much I appreciate that, it shows that Chronic Ink take care in insuring their customers are happy. The gesture alone has made made me change my review from a 3 start to a 5. They're a class act!

I had a tattoo done yesterday with Zeke and it was the best tattoo experience I've had. The atmosphere of the shop its self is so cool. I love the vibe where so many people are getting tattooed at the same time. Zeke made me feel so comfortable before my tattoo. She was actually the only tattoo artist I've had to ask me about myself prior to doing my tattoo. My tattoo also turned out perfect. My skin is a little darker so i was nervous as to how it would turn out but it's better than I imagined. Very worth the trip. There is a reason why this shop has such good reviews

By far the most welcoming and unique tattoo shop ive been into. I had joanna as my artist and she was so awesome and patient with me changing my mind about the design or how i wanted it. Way overpriced. My tattoo was not done properly, color was uneven. When I complained they acted like they were doing a big huge favour to fix it and they wouldn’t do it at a location closer to me to save me 4 hours driving time. During the tattoo the artist didn’t even talk to me. Hardly said anything after either. They acted as if I should expect the tattoo colour to be uneven and faded after only 3 weeks. Super disappointing experience. They also charged 180.00 for a ten minute tattoo

ARTSIT 5/5: I booked with Alexandra and she is the sweetest most talented human being ever. I originally found her work on instagram, and immediately fell in love. Her line work, designs, & shading are impeccable. I went through with booking with her because of her values & use of her platform. Great human, great work. Attached photos of new arm piece. Done by Alexandra. ADMIN 3/5: I found the booking process extremely disorganized and confusing! They mixed up my appointment, didn’t really apologize... did not ask much about my tattoo that they were supposedly going to communicate to the artist with. If you’re booking, make sure to ask all the questions & bring up everything because they probably just won’t tell you lol. & write out/say the full date and time or they’ll mix it up. Overall very disorganized, but super friendly in person!

I was a little concerned when my tattoo artist showed up 15 minutes late for a two hour appointment . We did not start the tattoo until 40 minutes in, resulting in the appointment running a half hour late. However, the artists work was amazing and she was extremely nice and responsive to small changes I suggested. She also paid a lot of attention to detail and didn’t let me leave until she was satisfied with her work. Overall happy with my experience!

From start to finish my experience was excellent. I'm from Ottawa so I did my consultation via email. I knew design style, what I wanted and I sent detailed emails and pictures to let the shop know what I was looking for. They then gave me a recommendation as to which artist fit best with the style and design I wanted. Emailing me back as promptly as they could, as I know they are a busy shop! I was matched with Chiao and I could not be more pleased that I was and I can tell you right now I plan to get many more from her. She went beyond what I could have possibly even imagined myself for the tattoo I wanted to get. It was a special tattoo for my daughter, and she blew it out of the water, tears were shed from the beauty of the tattoo. She is incredibly talented and an amazing artist. Every time I look at my arm I am completely shocked by the amount of detail in the tattoo. They were so pleasant to work with and I couldn’t be happier with the results!!

My first experience with Chronic Ink, I would say was fantastic! The staff are expertly knowledgeable and the customer service is first rate. Points to note however, they are not the cheapest shop in town and things such as aftercare products had to be purchased in addition to the cost of the tattoo. It would have been a nice gesture to receive this 10 dollar product gratis after spending 1200. Having said that, you get what you pay for and in this case with Chronic Ink you get premium artistry and first rate customer service. I will be returning in the future for all of my future pieces.

Absolutely would recommend this location to a friend. Helen was my artist and she was very patient with helping me make sure my design was perfect! She was so nice and the staff at the front desk were friendly as well. Also to mine and my friends surprise, their needles are unbelievably quiet which, for me getting my first tattoo, made me a lot less nervous than hearing intense needle sounds when you walk in. The location is a very well kept, nice facility. Helen took the time to make sure my stencil was exactly where I wanted it and gave her honest, professional opinion when I asked her what she thought was best and what was easiest for her to keep the tattoo intact (avoid ink bleeding etc.) She made sure I was okay and ready when she started tattooing. The receptionist made sure I knew my aftercare procedures and ensured me that if I had any questions I can call them and ask. It looks absolutely amazing and I'm extremely happy with the experience.

I was thrilled! They match me with Zeke according to the style of my design and she was absolutely amazing!!!!! As a tattoo virgin, I was actually super nervous. However, the experience was great since she was super inviting, comforting and funny. I could not see how she did it, but I was 100% satisfied with the end product. I had been wanting my 2nd lobe and helix piercing done but didn't know where to go. I was in Markham and came across Chronic Ink on Google and decided to call ahead to ask questions. The lady on the phone was nice and told me the pricing and said that it was walk-in. One of the guys made sure I had eaten something prior because it is important to have the right blood pressure before getting pierced/tatted. When I came back after eating, I was ready to go. Vince was my piercer and he was really easy to talk to! I felt really comfortable with him as I was with my friends and it went by like a breeze. I'm not that great at math but although I didn't expect the price to be that much, it was worth it! I would definitely go back and advise/remind people to tip your piercer/tattoo artist :)

Staff kind, my experience- not so much. I went in to buy a piece of jewlery for my dermal piercing. I took the piercer up on her offer to put it in; they told me they knew how. After a 40 minute drive home, I lifted my shirt to see the (more than 100 buck) piece of jewelry not there. I was not impressed. After several phone calls to inquire why it hadn't been installed properly and no response, you can imagine my frustration. I'm sure the tattoo artists know what they are doing-- I wouldn't recommend getting a piercing done here.

However, the upstairs studio was very dirty, the tattoo artist was late to both my appointments and didn’t have a shop key for one of them, and three different appointments had to be rescheduled (the store was open, not closed due to Covid). The tattoo quality is superb, however cleanliness, organization and timeliness need a lot of work.

Chronic Ink was my first choice in getting my first tattoo however I was quickly disappointed from the customer service I received from my tattoo artist. I had sent an email to the customer support and they informed me that my artist had sent it, 2 mins later I received her email in my inbox without an apology. This is my very first tattoo and was hoping I would be able to talk to my artist about my vision. Of course because of COVID a lot of the process was changed so I dismissed it. The second time was rescheduling my touch up after me waiting a month for my appointment. Again, COVID so I understood. The third time, I showed up to my touch up but my artist had already left for the day. I did call a few hours to confirm since I never got a text back and responded to their safety questions the day before. Chronic Ink is not close to me and I was frustrated with my overall experience so far. However, I commend the front desk for doing the best they could and apologizing me which is why I gave them 3 stars. The artist was also very apologetic again which is why I didn’t dock a star. I’m disappointed this is how my first tattoo experience went, and would’ve wished to have gone with someone who would be excited to do my tattoo.

Not only a gentleman, he showed me the utmost care and consideration, and his main concern was that I was happy with his concept/size/placement/etc before we even began. I have had some pretty big work done in the past (full chest and biceps) but my new forearm tattoo, holds special to me. My experience with jassy was simply amazing. She was so kind and patient. She will map your brows out for you until you are satisfied. She will not rush you into micro shading until you are happy. She will answer any questions you have and explain each step before starting. I love the results! She is excellent at what she does! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for fleek af brows!

Do not go here for a septum piercing. The piercer did NOT pierce my sweet spot when I specifically told him not to pierce it so low. My piercing is now too low. I should've known when it hurt that much that he was piercing the lower cartilage in my nose. It currently also looks crooked, despite it possibly being from swelling and crooked septums being "common", the one side is closer to the tip of my nose. It could have been pierced to accommodate the slight lack of symmetry in my septum so that it could appear visually straight. But I don't think the piercer was experienced enough to do that. He was being fake nice to me too (i.e looked annoyed and tried not to roll his eyes when I was mentioning my concerns to him). Not worth the price. We paid $80+ with tax and for a after piercing solution spray that for some reason burns. (Salt water solution does not burn me and I'm hoping this spray doesn't slow down the healing process). Did not like the vibe in there. I don't even want to go back because I feel like they're totally going to disregard my concern, and asking for a refund or a re-pierce would offend them oh-so-much. They are, however, hygienic and sterile and I'm sure their tattoos are great otherwise. I do not recommend going for a piercing here.

My sister and I booked our tattoo appointments in July 2020 with Joanna and were given a date in October 2020. One day before our appointment we got a call asking us to change our appointment time. We live on the other side of the GTA and both work so we couldn't accommodate the time change. We specifically booked after work hours. Then we received a call from Chronic Ink less than 4 hours before our appointments saying that both were cancelled. They did not give us a reason or refund our money, and were not flexible in accommodating us again. They only offered us one date in November (which we would need to take time off work for). We both took an unpaid day off for this. Today is 6 days before our rescheduled appointment and we just got another call from Chronic Ink cancelling our appointments.. this is now the SECOND time Joanna is cancelling. The next available date we were offered was JULY 2021. They were reluctant to give us a refund when we asked for it and were trying to push that we consider going with another artist at Chronic Ink or the July 2021 date. When my sister asked for the refund the person on the phone insisted that we had only booked one appointment and paid the deposit for one appointment, even though we have a receipt for 2 deposits. We just wanted dime sized tattoos. Nothing major. We were understanding that it is a pandemic but based on Joanna's Instagram she is doing many other tattoos. This was a super unprofessional experience. This was my first tattoo and this has become an unnecessarily frustrating ordeal. We booked in July 2020... only to be given a date for a YEAR later. For a TINY tattoo. And who knows if the appointment would be rescheduled AGAIN when July 2021 were to come around. Take your money to a more professional artist and tattoo shop.

I got my eyebrows microshaded by Jassy and I am very happy with my results! I went into my appointment not knowing much about microshading and Jassy was very informative. The appointment went by very smoothly and she was very fun and easy to talk to! She shaped my eyebrows the way I liked them, chose the perfect shade for me and the results after healing were incredible. My super light eyebrows now look fuller but still very natural. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them and it’s all thanks to Jassy and her amazing work. I get to sleep a little more now cause I don’t have to worry about spending time filling in my brows in the morning. I highly recommend her if you are looking to get your eyebrows done!

A few months ago the artist I was getting work done by moved far away and I was left feeling unsure about whether or not I'd ever be able to finish the idea I had for my arm. It was hard for me to imagine it working out since I'd need to approach a new artist to help me which seemed a little daunting. I bit the bullet and set up a consult with Mor. To my surprise he was very open to working around/with my current art and brought some impressive ideas to life that I didn't even think about myself. I was floored by the final outcome that was brought to life yesterday. We added in a portrait, a silhouette style and even some touches of white ink to break up the heavy black. To say I'm please with the end result would be the biggest understatement. Mor is talented, creative, and not opposed to a challenge- what more could you ask for? 10/10 recommend- AMAZING EXPERIENCE.

Everytime I get a new tattoo I think about how awful my experience is with chronic ink. My artist was Sarb and it was painfully obvious he wasnt interested in my tattoo... I got a black out piece on my arm, it was done over multiple sessions and the black did not heal right, even 3 years later you can see lines from where I can only assume he used a different ink. Sarb assured me it would heal as a solid black, when it didnt I called him to follow up, but he ghosted me. When I called chronic ink to complain they basically said "any problem you have your tattoo is between you and the artist" The shop is happy to collect 30% of the charge of the tattoo. Make sure you have a good artist though because the shop doesnt care about your satisfaction.

I got my first tattoo at Chronic Ink after hearing so much about it. I didn't want to make a bad review at first, but even two years later it still bothers me so I decided to write this. My experience with Christine wasn't great. I'm sure it differs by artist. The facility itself is very nice, but I really was not happy with my tattoo artist. I designed my own tattoo entirely, and it came to about $180, which is a little pricey but if it was done better I wouldn't have any qualms. Christine was nice, but she didn't seem to be that interested in me. She talked with her coworkers often and after my tattoo, she just said bye and immediately left. Most importantly, she did not seem to pay much attention to my tattoo. It's healed up now since its been so long, however you can still tell it was not done right.. The line at 9 o clock is wonky and the short line under it looks weird. If you look closely at the other lines they're all varied too. I even went for the touch up and she still couldn't make it right. Maybe I'm asking for too much - maybe tattoos just can't be perfect.. But this is just my honest experience. I won't be coming back.

If you’re looking to get script/lettering, you should definitely go to AK! I recently got lettering on my bicep done by him and the whole experience was just incredible. It was a really special tattoo to me and it was everything I asked for (AK went above and beyond to make sure that the tattoo would look good rather than just following the stencils). He was very detail oriented, patient and caring. It was probably the least painful tattoo ever. I had a lot of fun chatting with him during our session too, he’s very funny and easy to talk to. 10/10 would recommend!

I went to their pop-up shop in Upper Canada Mall, Newmarket, and had a custom tattoo done by Marina. From the very first meeting, everyone was very kind and had my best interests in mind. My idea was carefully considered and the receptionist suggested an artist. I had a complex idea in mind, and Marina made it work. She warned that we had to take out some of the finer details, but she kept the original design and shaded the piece to make it even better than the original. The process was very professional. We spent lots of time placing the stencil, and Marina listened to my concerns and even brought up a few of her own, all of which she fixed until I was completely satisfied. She answered all of my questions with patience and knowledge, and made me feel comfortable. She and everyone at Chronic Ink showed me how a professional tattoo shop does things. The prices were excellent for what I received, and Marina mentioned a free touch-up if needed. I will definitely be returning to Chronic Ink for future tattoos.

Overall my experience at Chronic Ink Markham was great. The shop itself is spacious, clean, and well lit. The staff are all friendly, accommodating, and easily approachable. I was actually late on an appointment since I accidentally went to the Yonge location, and received plenty of help in finding the Markham location. My artist Danny was very understanding when I came in a bit late. Very quick and efficient worker, but excellent artist. Easy to communicate with, will definitely ask for your input and opinion when drawing up your outline. I ended up getting a Buddha half-sleeve, but Danny has some amazing sketches of dragons and Hannyas from previous clients hanging at his station. If you're in the market for an Asian piece definitely check out his work!

I had my conch piercing (1 month ago) and nose piercing (1 week ago) both done by Vince. He was extremely professional and made the entire experience enjoyable. Because I have sensitive skin, I always get an infection. I was almost expecting an infection especially this time around because the piercings I got were more complex than my previous ones (lobe and cartilage) - but to my surprise I had no signs of an infection! After being pierced for some time now, I can confidently say that the entire process, before, during, and after was amazing. I got my nose pierced in the Markham location an year back. The head of the nose pin was too small and it went in through the pierced area of the nose. I went back to that location and it was a different piercer this time. He changed my jewelry and it was a very painful experience which was expected. However, following that i had a very bad infection and chills and my nose and the left side of my face started swelling up. I went to a walk in clinic got antibiotics, also the physician asked me to go into the emergency. Those antibiotics saved my life! I still want to pierce my nose again, but the experience was soo traumatic that i am really scared!

I called to ask when they close & the rep told me they close at 8. I specifically asked questions about nose piercings. I then went in at 7:20 & the rep told me that the employee who does piercing takes her last customer before 7:30. He told me that he said this over the phone (which he didn't - if he did, why would I waste my time going in at this time?). So a) why would you not mention this over the phone so I don't waste my time coming in? B) if your employee does take her last patient at 7:30, I came in at 7:20 (i know that's frustrating for the employee but in my mind, you closed at 8 which is all you told me so I came plenty of mins in advance). Very disappointed with this place due to the lack of communication. I then went to another piercing shop to get it pierced the same day. They gave me the correct information & it went smoothly.

This is not so much review for the tattoo parlour but the overall experience and hopefully everyone who considers getting a tattoo will learn from my mistakes and parlour will implement changes to their procedures to avoid their customers feel disappointed and perhaps artists will become more responsible. I have reached chronic ink about two months ago because I wanted to do a cover up by Karen whose work I really liked on instagram ( now I realize that tattoo artists post only work that turned out well, I haven’t seen mine tattoo on instagram for instance there and don’t really expect to see…) . Correspondence was tedious and inefficient: emails were not answered on time ( which I understand ) but some questions were ignored for quite some time . I asked if I could meet Karen or at least have some sort of way of talking to her directly to make sure there was complete understanding, but according to parlour due to whole Covid situation, I had to communicate with the person at the desk….I could’ve have her email, or she could’ve called me from private number, or we could do skype/zoom but no. I didn’t have a design but I sent pictures of what I liked, what colours I would like to have, and photo of the area I want tattoo to be placed. Through mysterious email person I was told that its all good and we can proceed with booking for a date as long as I pay the deposit which I did. Closer to date I asked if I could see a design to which I received a text “You will see design in person since Karen has been tattooing very long in that style, she only shows them the day of” . I figured, okay, I can trust her and parlour…On the day I arrived, turns out she could only do 3 colours while I wanted mine to have at least 5. She showed me design which frankly I wasn’t really impressed by and looked more like a template adjusted to fit my cover up. Again I didn’t want to argue and kinda thought that she knows what’s she is doing. In emails, I have requested my design to cover part of a bicep and part of a forearm but her design spread mostly on forearm. When I said that I didn’t particularly liked it she said if I would remove part of the tattoo it wouldn’t “flow” . Because I was afraid to loose my deposit and because I was kinda thinking that she knows what she is doing and to be fair because I’m agreeable person I agreed to all of this…Now, I have a tattoo which frankly looks like a mess and its not a matter of opinion, everyone who saw it, just give me really sad look. ( …To be a little bit positive and fair its a good cover up but design and the size is not something I would agree on if I would have time to sleep on it) That was 2 weeks ago when I got my tattoo, I have barely slept and lost about 8 pounds due to this.Now I’m looking for my tattoo removal options which turns out will cost probably in few thousand dollars and will realistically take years of removing it with questionable results. Guys this is not exaggeration, this is reality, tattoo removal is still very inefficient! So yeah...this is real. The pain of tattoo regret is incredible (please watch videos on YouTube) and don’t repeat my mistakes.

If I could no stars, I would. I got my tragus pierced by the piercer with the half moon stud in her forehead a couple months ago. Not only was she super rude, a know it all (maybe due to her young age) she tried to get me to choose an earring which was really expensive without telling me the price. The earrings were really pretty and didn't look standard so I asked if it was standard and she said no. The earrings were ranging from $80-over $100. I opted for the standard bar. She was pretty rude and dry the entire time but I like how my piercing looks. I tipped her $20 on top of the $80 piercing. My piercing has healed it's been 4 months and I called to ask if I can get the bar removed since the ball is really tight and I can't unscrew it. I was told there would be a service charge of $20!!!!!!!!! I've never had a piercer charge to remove a piercing they did, ever! On top of that, $20 for a service charge? I will never return to Chronik Ink...the days of when Phillip owned this place has really changed, for the worse. I will not return and will not recommend this place to anyone.

She even let me call a relative to help decide on a certain style (as I was getting our family name in calligraphy and they're experience in the style). Had a great experience overall and her work is 150% worth the price. Word of caution: this is an open concept work space which is great because you can see the walls of other great artists but if you're more shy about exposing your body it could be a deterrent. For myself it was no problem as everyone there acted very professionally.

I live 7 hours North of Markham and couldn't meet prior to the appointment so correspondence was done by email. The piece is very sentimental for me and she took my ideas and created exactly what I was hoping for, the design was perfect. I was extremely nervous to have my first tattoo done, but upon arrival at the shop they were very welcoming and the atmosphere is not what I expected at all, it was so quiet and not the least bit intimidating. Zeke is amazing!!! So nice, calming throughout the whole thing, and kept "checking in" to be sure I was ok, allowed me to break when I needed to and eat a million candies throughout the whole tattoo to calm my nerves. Not only was it the most comfortable tattooing experience I’ve ever had, Christine went out of her way to meet with me outside the normal operating hours so we would be done before I had to get to work. I can’t recommend a more caring and dedicated artist, and her work is absolutely phenomenal! I will definitely be returning to get more work done in the future!

I have a tattoo from Joanna, she is a great artist and delivers very good quality work. She made a sly comment in front of me to one of her coworkers which was really unprofessional but nonetheless I love my tattoo. My complaints are mostly with the customer service of the studio and the ghastly way I was treated multiple times. First my touch up appointment (which they only allow to be done within 90days of your tattoo) was cancelled and rescheduled a few hours before my appointment; which I scheduled to fit my schedule. After that I still decided to get some more work done at this studio with another artist. My appointment was originally scheduled for a Wednesday, it was cancelled two hours before my appointment (I took time off of work) and rescheduled to the following Saturday. My appointment was then confirmed at 11:06am on Friday, and by 11:49am I received notice that the studio was shutting down due to covid, but at the time the region was still open. I don't see why they confirmed At this point I understood that they probably were dealing with internal issues, and requested a refund considering I've had appointments cancelled three times now with such short notice. They agreed to refund me and would "get back to me in a few minutes". I let a week go by and reached out again. They told me I had to wait until they reopened for my refund. After I replied they decided they were able to refund me when someone was in the office. I let two weeks go by and still didn't hear anything. I reached out no response. I reached out for a third time, was told that they had a lot to deal with and that I would have to wait until after Christmas. I waited almost 4 weeks before reaching out for a fourth time. I received a call after that to process my refund, the way that I was spoken to was shocking, the woman on the other end of the phone was short, annoyed and spoke to me in an impolite tone; asked for my info, processed it "ok we refunded you" and before I could even say thank you I was hung up on. It was as if they were doing me a favour refunding me my deposit-- after their "few minutes" was 8 weeks. Considering that Chronic Ink is apparently one of the best studios in the country I'm just really shocked to have been dealt with in such a unprofessional way. At least my tattoo is nice tho

Right off the bet i was impressed by the customer service, they were extremely busy but someone still took the time to sit down with me and iron out all the details and answer all my questions. Once I was on the table and Ted started my chest piece i was admittedly a little nervous with this being my first tattoo, but every time we took a break and i was able to see the progress my expectations were blown out of the water. Conclusion: Wither this is your first or 10th tattoo, these guys know what they are doing!

I booked an appointment with @ak_chronicink at the Markham location late July and was given a slot for today September 6 at 3:30. First, they never sent me an email for the deposit I made or any type of confirmation until I emailed them again and only got a response a few days later. I was sent a text to confirm my appointment along with questions about Covid precautions that are being taken a week ago. I was also sent the same info yesterday and was called by the shop. Well today, as I am on my way to Markham on the bus from Mississauga, I get a call at 1:45 from the shop telling me that my appointment has to be rescheduled b/c the artist is taking longer than anticipated on a piece that he is working on. All I was offered was to change it to tomorrow, with another artist who I had no clue about. When I asked when is the earliest date for the artist I wanted, they said he was fully booked until November. I am disappointed at how @chronicink handled the situation. Imagine if I was coming from somewhere further away than Mississauga? I was given notice 2 hours before and was already on my way there when called. They clearly don’t value their new customers experience and time, and lack the skills to even make a schedule. Why bother sending me the same information a week and a day before when you’re going to cancel it a few hours before. Please don’t waste your time and think about it twice. Not saying that everyone’s experience will be the same but this is just mine and thought I’d let anyone know before getting anything done!

I got my first earlobe piercing here approximately 5+ months ago and my piercing still has not healed. I came with a friend who got hers done as well and hers became infected. I was not briefed enough about the cost of the piercing either and ended up paying close to $300 for it in the end. Pretty bummed out after seeing all the good reviews..

My "burning phoenix" looks AMAZING!!:) Lydia did an awesome job, and finished 1 1/2 hrs earlier than expected. Incredible detail, finished with bright, bold colours. Very patient with me, when I needed to have a cigarette during the 4 1/2 hr sitting. Overall, I am please with the excellent work!! Very enjoyable experience from start to finish. My artist, Lydia, was extremely receptive to a number of my ideas (even when they changed), and offered great feedback during the design process when it came to areas I wasn't familiar with. Sometimes, you have an idea in your mind, but you can't perfectly describe the image you are envisioning. There was always a feeling of a collaborative environment between myself and Lydia, and it felt like she was really working with me to create my piece. It was a no-pressure, friendly, inviting atmosphere. Getting the tattoo (or a portion of it, in my case) was also stress free, with breaks and check-ins from other staff to see how everything was going. Can't wait to come back.

STEER CLEAR They will over charge you WAY too much for a tattoo and/or piercing. I’ve spoken to many different friends who own shops downtown and was told no one in the downtown scene even likes chronic ink because of how much they overcharge their clients. It’s sad because some of the artists are really good but the prices are just mind blowing. You’ll probably hear the “we’ve done workshops or we stand by our tattoos and artists” but your wallet will thank you if you somewhere else.

I booked an appointment put down a deposit for $150 plus tax because of the lockdown my appointment was rescheduled I called them to confirm my appointment it was going to be a long wait time I told them refund me the deposit but then I changed my mind I called them back and said that I don’t want my deposit back just give me a new date for my tattoo so they give me a new date thank goodness I called them because I had a question but they didn’t do anything and they are saying that they gave me my fund back to me which I called my bank they didn’t see any refund coming to my account from them so if you want your money stolen from them book an appointment they don’t care about you ????

Zeke made me feel very comfortable and pulled the curtain around us, as to not make other clients uncomfortable seeing a bare breast. Had my friend get a piercing at the Chronic Ink - Markham location. While the piercing was completed professionally, the overall experience with the piercer, Courtney, was not great. She had an unpleasant attitude throughout the experience that left us leaving the store pretty uncomfortable. Would recommend trying the North York location instead for piercings - the staff there were much more welcoming.

If you’re looking for a positive tattooing experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere (particularly if the artist is Zeke). My friend and I booked a joint session. Quality wise, the tattoos are decent. Unfortunately, the service experience was awful. Zeke was unpleasant, sarcastic, and made a bunch of snide comments throughout the process, including “this should be your first & last tattoo.” My friend and I were completely caught off guard. In August, I called in for a touch-up, and asked to be placed with any artist except Zeke. When the customer service representative, Tara, asked why I didn’t want to work with Zeke, I told her about our experience. In response, Tara stated that she’s been friends with Zeke for 5+ years and doesn’t believe she would speak that way to clients. To be precise, she used the phrase ”if that’s your truth...”. All in all, an awful customer service experience - the kind that sticks with you every time you look at your permanent ink work. I would highly recommend checking out other spots.

I got my first tattoo ever at Chronic Ink's Markham location toady. I am very pleased. The tattoo could not have been better. The design was a black ink salmon where the head and tail were realistic and the centre body was Celtic knotwork. From the initial consultation to the complete tattoo, the everyone was the ultimate in professional and yet were also friendly. Steve did an excellent job and I cannot speak highly enough of his ability to put onto my body the deign on paper that I gave him. I am very pleased with the aftercare consultation too. It is true that you cannot stop at one tattoo. I do not need to consider anywhere else for my next. They are versatile in all styles. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who asks me. I've had two tattoos done at this location, both done by Karen. Karen is a huge pleasure to work with and her designs are phenomenal! During our consultation she was very honest with my idea's which I'm thankful for because my idea seemed cool in my head but wouldn't look great once it came to fruition. We were able to smooth out the details and by the end I had a pretty good idea of what my tattoo would look like. In general, (I'd like to put out there for readers) I like to trust the artist with the piece while all I ask for are the core elements. I definitely think the artist shines most when you give them lots of freedom. (This is why it's important to do your research prior!!) During the tattoo, the piece was a considerable size and she was able to complete it within the designated time and still have all the details included. She also noticed that I was struggling with the pain during the last couple hours and used a numbing agent to help me get through the last bit of the tattoo. Karen is a fantastic artist and I'd recommend her to anyone! Thanks again Karen, and the team at Chronic Ink! I love my tiger and dragon pieces! I'll be sure to be showing them off as the years pass, and will certainly be back for more!

I didn't know what to expect in terms of pain as I was getting it done on my inner bicep and so many people told me it would hurt a lot. It turns out they were all wrong, it wasn't bad at all. I got a cannon done (Arsenal fan). Steve was easy to work with and created something that was better than what I was expecting. The vibe of the shop was so chill and inviting. Customer service is top notch. The price is up there but you get what you pay for! I would recommend the shop to anyone..already have.

So happy I had a chance to get work done by Zeke! Some things were meant-to-be….recently booked to have a tattoo done by an artist at Chronic Ink((Toronto) upon my return from vacation. Landed in Cuba for my vacation and my husband noticed a beautiful half sleeve piece. It had amazing detail, was so realistic and had such fine lines. I saw her again on the beach and decided to ask her where she had her work done as I was very impressed with the work. She (Daniela) told me it was done at Chronic Ink (Markham) by Zeke. In my head I wished I had seen this work prior to booking my appointment as I would have definitely requested Zeke. Upon my return from vacation, I received a call from Chronic Ink advising me that the artist I had originally booked with did could not do the tattoo I wanted and recommended booking with another artist. Jassy is amazing at what she does! I wanted microblading, microshading, powder brows for a long time, but wasn’t 100% on what I wanted. Jassy was able to chat about l what I wanted before I booked my first appointment, even sent me info for someone who does a different technique so I could see which one I preferred. She didn’t want to do the brows if I was more interested in another technique. So happy I went with microshading! First appointment Jassy took her time mapping my brows and adjusting until I loved them. I was a little late on the touch up (my fault), but Jassy was flexible and helped me to book an appointment, and didn’t charge me for it I’m loving my brows and will definitely be returning to Jassy when they fade! Highly recommend this talented woman!

Considering he truthfully admitted to the persons work he stole that he was "sorry" and "gets his images from google." A true artist creates their own masterpieces they don't steal from other people off of Google they take inspiration and put their own spin on things they don't take a full portrait and then draw lotus flowers all over it and call it their own.

What an incredible company who really puts their clients first. I have a severe allergic reaction to hair dye and wasn’t sure how tattoo ink would react with my skin. I came in to the Markham shop, looking to have some ink splashed on my arm and see if I got a reaction. Helen went above and beyond any of my expectations and offered to tattoo a small black dot on my arm, to be 100% certain how my skin would react before I got my first tattoo. Not only did she offer to do this free of charge, she understood and took my concern of an allergic reaction seriously while taking the time to explain the process to me. She was very professional, caring and sincere (she even grilled me with proper aftercare for a 1mm dot!). Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience at Chronic Ink (Markham location) despite the reviews I saw on here. I went already prepared with my design (which I emailed to the artist, Alexandra) so all she really had to do was reposition the words....If I was any better at photoshop, I would have done that myself! My original appointment was booked in mid-December for an early January date and one week before my appointment, I received a call that I had to reschedule because the artist was going out of town during that time (?? that confused me since my appointment was booked in advance) so I agreed to push my appointment date out by another month. Fast forward to my approaching appointment date - I was supposed to get my design (via email) 2 days before the appointment and I had those 2 days to review/make adjustments etc. I didn't hear from the artist at all - no email, no call - nothing. I called twice during those 2 days and each time, all I was told was "she'll send it in an hour or so". Nothing. Less than 24 hours before my appointment, I still hadn't heard from Alexandra so I called to cancel the appointment because I did not want to get something tattooed on my body by a person who obviously didn't care about this appointment. During that call, I was told "if she sends it to you now, can you still come in?" which, to be fair, is ridiculous because how does that give me any time to make those adjustments? furthermore, if it's taking THAT long for a design where all she had to do was open photoshop and reposition the words, I was not confident at all that I would get my design in a timely manner (or that it would be done right). I have gotten many tattoos and this, by far, was the most unprofessional experience ever. This is a permanent thing going on your body, not some print that can be discarded if not done properly so I would have thought that this studio would take their clients more seriously and treat each tattoo with care to establish the trust that is required between tat artist and customer for a return visit. The only good outcome from this whole thing was that the person I spoke to was understanding and managed to swing my refund (deposits are non-refundable). I went to another local place who was very responsive, caring and friendly; they didn't make me feel like just a number and I got my tattoo done within a week by an artist who is incredible. I do not recommend Chronic Ink at all; go some place where you/your design will be treated with respect and care.

Went to Markham to get my tattoo. Was not disappointed. Awesome skill from my artist Lydia. First tattoo I've ever gotten. The orientation and communication felt like there could be some improvement but most likely attributed to the fact that most clientele are more local than I am. Only thing I'd rather have done was just have my appointment over the phone as I drove three hours to get there and was there for 15min. Other than that, great staff, and amazing artists. Will definitely be back!

Kevin did my first big piece, half sleeve biomech tattoo and between the outcome and reviewing the artwork they have done today and in the past makes me confident there is an artist there that can cover any idea I want. There are good names all over the Toronto landscape for tattoos, but only Chronic Ink has the #s to help you get a quality tattoo done whatever your style might be. Already booked for my next piece.

My mom and I booked back to back appointments, we each got 2 piercings on the same ear. They allocate 30 mins per person to fill out a form, pick out jewelry (we wanted 14k gold pieces so it was around $150 apiece) and get it pierced, which didn’t seem like it was enough. The jewelry must be sanitized before the piercing which takes 10 mins so I felt really rushed to pick out my pieces, especially considering how expensive they were. I had come in earlier asking if I could see the jewelry ahead of time (so I could take my time picking them out), however they said no as only 1 person was allowed in the piercing studio at a time. The person who did the piercing did a good job with the placement as well as the piercing, and wiped everything down which shows how cautious they were in sanitization. However I just really wish I didn’t feel so rushed, considering my mom and I were dropping over $750 in jewelry and piercing fees that day. I think having a display case in a different spot so clients can take their time picking it out prior to the appointment would be a great idea for this store. That said, I would come back again.

He was careful and meticulous during the whole session from drawing the concept to placing the stencil on just right and then tattooing the artwork. The work was worth every dollar I spent, and I'm already excitedly thinking about my next tattoo. My overall #experience at Chronic Ink in Markham exceeded my expectations. AK was always checking in to make sure I was happy with the design, and that i was ok when he was using the needles. He was also great to chat with to distract me. When it was finished, I was so thrilled...it's absolutely perfect. The tiny details are so crisp - it's really incredible. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for a tattoo. I got my nose pierced here by Courtney. I was expecting a good experience with her because she has a few good reviews on here, but she had a bit of an attitude which wasn’t fun. I saw another review about a piercer having a know-it-all attitude and I’m assuming that’s about her as well (I could be wrong) But everything else was great! Front staff were super nice, shop is clean, organized and located in a cool area, the drive there was so peaceful. If this piercers attitude was better I would have definitely given 5 stars. It’s pretty pricey, the piercing was $40 and jewelry (the cheapest one) was another $40. They DO use good quality jewelry though, so I was actually considering getting a nicer gold one that was $80 instead, considering it’s going to be in my nose for months until I could change it. But she made it seem like she would be going out of her way/it would inconvenience her if I changed my mind, so I stuck with the $40 one. It’s like she would have an attitude, try to be nice a second later to make up for the attitude she JUST had, then have the attitude all over again lmao. And this was ongoing for my whole visit. All in all, the piercing was done well, but considering how much customers pay I just wish she had an attitude check. P.S get the spray they sell for piercings. Highly recommended.

Went to cronic ink became I have had bad ink in the past and was not willing to go anywhere without knowing for a fact that it was a top tier shop. Wasn’t the cheapest but that is actually a good thing when it comes to a tattoo. I was still skeptical because as anyone who looks can see, there are horrible tattoos everywhere. I knew what I wanted, but also wanted the size and lines and contrast to be perfect. Got my tat done by Steve and it turned out perfect. And met all my requirements and even exceeded them.
