I loved getting my nose pierced here. Caleb, the piercing specialist, was an absolute hoot and was also very professional. I was nervous about getting my face pierced but after a few questions he made me feel very comfortable. Also, my extremely sensitive skin NEVER likes surgical steel but it is loving the high grade surgical steel the shop supplies.

Such amazing service! The place I got my conch pierced did it with a hoop (big no no) and I called around so many places that wouldn't help me change my jewelry as it was so painful and infected. They took my appointment, changed it for me and gave me some disinfectant that cleared it up within 5 days! Thank you so much guys, this will defiantly be my new spot for future piercing's!

I got my nose pierced about 1 month ago. Actually the place is really lovely. It’s bright and they have beautiful paintings on the wall. In addition, staff are so friendly and nice as well. I was feeling ok after piercing and till now I haven’t had any problem with it. The only thing was that I had an appointment for 2 o’clock but when I arrived they told their piercer is not in the place and I had to wait for 1 hour which was annoying. However, they got coffee for me. Also, they gave me a $20 gift card. At all I’m happy with my piercing. It was something that I’ve always wanted to do.

There are lots of nice tattoo studios out there but this isn't one of them. Please save your money and your skin and don't go to those people. Tattoo stays on your body forever. The artist rushed his work. He priced me for 3 hours of work for $180/hr. But he rushed it and finished in 1.5 hours but still got his 3 hours. End since he didn't put his time on it, the tattoo didint look like what I wanted it to look like. A lady from the studio called me and instead of fixing the issue she kept talking and telling me she did not appreciate me leaving a comment. I tried to tell her that this was a free country and that everybody can tell their opinion. She also told me that they made a mistake while taking my money but since it's been a month since I got the tattoo, she wont fix the problem. Also some tatoo artists do hurt their customers purposely. And my artist was one of them. Note; giving me $100 store credit doesn't help at all as I am not planning on having another tattoo from your studio..

So, years ago my elder brother decided to get into tattooing. He was great at it and did some stellar work, his talent was noteable. So as you would imagine I gleefully asked my brother to talent-fully decorate my body with some tribal.. To my horror, I find that he literally slapped random tribal in random spots out of pure laziness and destroyed my image of myself for years.. So as a birthday present my ex decided to pay for my first tattoo session, Lorena, my artist did an amazing job with the cover up of the horrendously disastrous nightmare that was my tribal. You can barely notice any of the remainder of the previous tattoo. If you need a full scale cover up tattoo done, go to Black Line Studio, and ask for "Lorena" she will take good care of you. The only problems were that the customers entering the shop have no respect or concept of the fact that you are paying for the time spent on the tattoo and often try to make inquiries while the artist is busy... This should be remedied as soon as possible! Otherwise an excellent establishment..

I had two piercings and found it expensive. It was $40 only for the piercing plus jewelry ($35) so $75 total. My two piercings with the discount were $152 with taxes... and they were pretty simple. Just on my ear... If you go double ask prices up front. I was under the impression the piercing will include jewelry or at least a discount.

Had a small tattoo done on my forearm. Healed and looks great now. I did find Lorena rushed the design and placement. She didn't ask if I was happy with her design compared to the original. Then she just slapped the temporary stamp on..could have been half an inch to the right if she stopped to listen

Not sure why but I had the worst experience with this shop. First, I called before going to the shop and I asked them if they were taking walk ins - they said yes which was perfect. I go to their shop and it was tight and packed. The first person who greeted me was really nice but the other lady who was there was rude and dismissive. I think her name was Elly? After asking them the prices (which was ridiculously high but I was willing to pay for quality), I told them I’ll step out since 1) I wanted to think about the prices 2) it was busy and packed. After 5 minutes, I go back inside and the rude lady greeted me again and asked me to go back downstairs to close the door, which was already wide open when I went inside. I was confused - why would you ask a customer to close the door when it was open when I entered the shop? After signing the agreements and the COVID intake form, I was asked that if I wanted to, I can walk around the area and they’ll call me once they’re available, she told me that she’ll call me in 20 minutes. I stepped out since it was busy and waited around the area. More than 20 minutes passed and they never called me. Honestly this was disappointing especially since the reviews I’ve read about this place were pretty good.

Such a great experience there. I just got a rib tattoo which was so painful but so worth it. I worked with Tito who was great from the consultation, the prep, the actual tattooing itself and the post care. He was great. I am really happy with the way my tattoo came out. I couldn't be happier with my latest tattoo. I have always wanted a tiny script tattoo but a lot of artists don't do them. Jasmine at Black Line was recommended to me. I came in knowing which font I wanted but Jasmine worked with me to customize it with a few personal touches. She listened to everything I had to say and created this perfect little tattoo just for me. I am so pleased. It says "moja Dusa" in Macedonian which means "my Soul" (which is what I call my son). I had the best experience at Black Line Studio last month! My cousins and I went there to honour our grandmother who passed away in September. The weekend she passed, I went through all my old cards and found a birthday card from her from 14 years ago. Now, we take the closing message from that card with us every day. We all had our tattoos done by Aruna - she was so sweet with us, and loved hearing our stories. She spent a lot of time and consideration going over all of the after care procedures as well (and answering all of our questions). I even met with her a month before for a consult, and immediately felt so comfortable with the studio and her. I can't wait to go back.

Went in to get a second nose piercing above my already healed hoop (after not being able to find a studio to do it as none of them had good jewelry options) and the piercing is perfect. The piercer calmed my nerves and ensured I was as comfortable as possible. I booked my appointment for the same day and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The pricing for the jewelry is expensive, but worth it as it is high quality. 10/10 reccomended this shop.

Got my nose pierced about 6 weeks ago and all was healing and going well until I popped my nose ring out by accident and couldn’t get it back in (que the panic)!!!! Anyways I called into Black Line and they told me what to do in the mean time since I couldn’t get to the studio right away and when I went later that night the ring was put back in and all was well again. All of this to say THANK YOU Black Line & staff for being so amazing the first and second time (and for not making me feel like a total idiot for not being able to put the ring back in)!

Yesterday I had the tattoo experience of a lifetime: sitting for a large tattoo designed and inked by the amazing India Makinucci, visiting artist. It's easy to see why she chooses Black Line Studio Don Mills for her Canadian residencies: the shop is gorgeous. Designed as beautifully as a high-end salon or jewelry boutique (and of course, they actually do sell jewelry) it's a gem. The support staff are friendly and very professional. The space is utterly clean and comfortable. From beginning to end, my entire experience from consultation to aftercare was exceptionally smooth. And now I can say that the most exquisite tattoo I've ever seen in my life is on my own body! Ample free parking. Easy to reach by transit. Shop is wheelchair accessible: didn't notice auto door-openers, but everything including large washroom is on level.

They are quick with their responses by email (as I have sent emails to several other tattoo shops and got very slow responses). Doug's water colour work is so amazing! I went to Black Line Studio for my first tattoo and it was a wonderful experience. The downtown location isn’t the greatest and the premises look old, but once upstairs in the tattoo parlor it’s like entering a spa. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Vika, the artist who was assigned to me, designed my tattoo exactly as I wanted it. The staff thoroughly explained the aftercare and supplied me with everything I needed. As I said, very satisfied with the whole experience.

My tattoo artist Dakota was very kind, professional and she made me feel comfortable (she also has a great sense of humour which made me feel more at ease). My tattoo took little time and I appreciated the aftercare products and instructions that are offered at the end of the appointment. My tattoo is healing nicely and I’ll be returning in a few months to get some more ink done.

Very disappointed with this place. I was rescheduled 3 times and on the last appointment I was doubled booked. The person at the front desk spoke with the tattoo artist only to come back and offer yet another reschedule. Luckily they were able to give me a refund on my $100 deposit from a gift card. Overall, not a good experience for a first time tattoo virgin.

Really cute shop!! I traveled to Toronto for the weekend from NJ, and wanted to bring back a permanent souvenir for myself. More particularly, I got a tattoo of the Nirvana smiley face on the bottom of my big toe (a weird and controversial spot). My artist, Vika, gave me the tattoo with no issues and it came out amazing. Super quick and painless, and for a reasonable price. Would recommend this cute little shop!!!

Got my first tattoo at Black Line over a year ago. I provided my design and Glen the artist offered great advice and made a few tweaks accordingly. I was quite indecisive at the time regarding the size of my tattoo, but Glen was very patient and drew out three designs with slight variances in size so I could have a better idea as to how it would look on me. The actual tattoo job was done superbly. Great staff, equipment was sterile, shop was clean, and overall great professionalism from Glen. He was also very friendly and my friend and I talked to him during the entire inking process (approx 1 hour total). Recommended!

Came in for a spur of the moment piercing and they were able to fit me in no problem. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional and I am very happy with the results. I did have a bit of an issue with a ball of the piercing coming out in under a week but they saw me right away and replaced to ball at no charge. Looks good and healing beautifully!

This is my favourite tattoo and piercing studio in Toronto. Really amazing staff and very casual. They will help you design your tattoo and be honest about if it might be too big/ too cliche etc. A little on the pricier side but well worth it! They pay attention to detail and make sure you are completely satisfied before you leave! Sometimes they will give you a $20 coupon for your next visit. Great pizza bar below as well and a great fish and chip shop.

I had my septum pierced here and it went great. I'm prone to fainting so I let the artist know and he was very patient and professional. It was the first piercing in 30 years for me so I was really scared, but the staff really helped me feel at ease. They even let me take my time and brought me a glass a water when it was done so I wouldn't pass out (which I didn't!). Definitely recommend!

WORST TATTOO MY BOYFRIEND AND I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! Although the studio is neat don't let the looks deceive you! They have a very friendly staff but both of our tattoos came out very poor. Mine was placed on the side of my hand and right after looked fine but after a couple days there was barely any ink! Some lines are thicker and others don't exists. My boyfriends on the other hand was even worse! He got 3 words wrapped around his wrist and none of the letters are the same size or even the same thickness. We are very disappointed and will never come here again and we advise you don't either!

I got my first tattoo here, it was very small (smaller than a quarter and a penny side by side) and was told it would be the hourly price (about $115). Tattoo looked great initially and I followed the care rules of using unscented soap and not washing the area directly with water, i did not over-moisturize the spot either to avoid ink fallout. Unfortunately approx. 1-2 months after I got it, the tattoo was showing fallout. As I am not often downtown I knew it would be tricky to get a touch-up. I received an email a few months after inquiring about how my tattoo was doing and I responded that very day to no avail and no response back. I had called the studio asking about a touch-up and they stated that the artist who had done the tattoo left the studio and we might have to have a meeting about if they could touch it up for me. I told them I would pass as it is not very convenient to get downtown for me and if the end result was that they would not be able to touch it up I would have wasted my time. I reached out to the artist who had at this point gone solo, I explained the situation and how great his portfolio looks as well as the fact that the tattoo I got from him does not live up to his beautiful work. I stated that I would be willing to pay for a touch-up, I just wanted to have something that is so permanent to be looking good. No response. I called Black Line Studios again, and I suppose at this point it had been slightly over a year since I got this tattoo and they said I would have to pay studio rate ($115 or so) for the touch-up. Slightly disappointed in how flakey and irresponsive the studio/artist had been throughout the process.

About a month ago I went in and Kaan did another piercing on my right lobe as well as my nipples. Going into getting my nipples done I was anxious about the pain but he made the environment extremely comfortable and talked me through what would happen. He allowed me to ask plenty of questions and gave me proper advice for caring for me piercings and healing time as well. His hand was extremely steady and I was not in much pain at all. My piercings are still healing but they look great and feel great as well! 100% would recommend this place. :)

There were some communication issues initially but ultimately we were able to work out what I wanted and get it done, (and Mark did some beautiful work). They went out of their way to accommodate and correct the communication/schedule situation so that was 5 star customer service for sure! It's a little tricky to locate the studio due to signage and location (inbetween two businesses and there's only a little A-frame sign in front of the door to the stairs leading up to the business). And there's a pretty small front desk space so if there's more than a few people it gets awkward... but the staff and artists are nice and a talented bunch.

3 days ago I went into Black Line Studio with my Cousin to get a piercing done. Was super nervous as it has been ages since I had one done. We were met by Guido at the front desk and he specified he would also be my piercer. After filling out our consent on their iPad, we went into the studio and to the room. The entire place is beautiful and looks very high end. I can't say enough positive things about my piercing appointment with Guido. He was soft spoken and knowledgeable and explained all the steps involved in what he was doing. I felt at ease and he explained post-care instructions very clearly. Black line studio is a great choice for getting a tattoo in the city. My experience with Vika and the staff was amazing. They were all very patient and answered all of my questions. I wasn’t sure about placement but Vika had no issues doing the stencil for me multiple times and offered suggestions based on my tattoo design and lifestyle. The tattoo was beautifully done and I’m very happy with it! I’m only taking off one star because the studio is rather small and I was in a room where smoother tattoo appointment was taking place so it was really cramped and a little uncomfortable.

I was very impressed with how spotless the studio was, which is always reassuring when you're about to get a tattoo. The staff was very nice and friendly. I got a very thin band tattooed around my forearm and I was shocked by how talented the artist was. He did not use a stencil and instead, hand drew the line on my forearm with a pen and went over it with his tattoo gun. It turned out very well and straight from every angle even when I move my arm. as the other girl said not too long ago, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, especially if you're going in for a septum piercing!! i got mine done here about 3 weeks ago, however when i was told by friends the pain would be at 3-4 at most, i felt an 8, meaning that the piercer went through the cartilage. he went on to say the if i didn't like the piercing in terms of appearance, i could come back and he would order me "special jewelry" to make it less crooked. i didn't notice anything was wrong at first, because i've never had a septum piercing so i thought it looked fine. it wasn't until a week ago when i realized it was pierced wrong, way too low on the nose, when it began hurting and forming bumps around it. he also gave me incorrect after care instructions, telling me to use alcohol q tips and move the piercing around a bunch to let it heal, which lead to my piercing getting infected, being that the hole is also visible from the outside, therefore it's easier for bacteria to infect it. i don't know what i'm going to do yet as i don't want the infection to spread, AND THIS PLACE CHARGED ME 124 FOR A SEPTUM. believe me when i say there are better and cheaper places to go to in toronto that won't botch your piercing. they won't even give me a refund!!!! DO NOT go here.

They’re not honest.the guy who pierced me had to re-pierce my navel twice because somehow he couldn’t get the needle to go through.. And now i have a scar sitting right next to my piercing. The ring I purchased was too tight but they didn’t even tell me that. I literally spent around $400. All they cared about was the money. And now I can’t even get my money back. I am absolutely disappointed. I had to remove my piercing because it was too tight and my body was rejecting it. I literally took good care of it. Cleaned it 4 times a day. Stayed home for a while. Didn’t touch it. I thought that my experience with this place would be great but it was pretty much disappointing! Don’t ever go there unless you like taking risks! However the girls who work at the front desk are nice!!

I first visited Black Line in 2016 and I never regretted my decision. I had been looking for a professional, clean studio with talented artists and after doing my research, I found that Black Line had been recognized on multiple occasions with awards. I easily set up a (free) consultation with Lorena via email and didn't have to wait long. Once I met Lorena, we discussed what I wanted and she estimated the amount of time she would need to complete my tattoo which enabled her to give me a cost estimate beforehand. Prior to my tattoo appointment, I was sent a (beautiful) stencil of my tattoo which was excellent. On the day of, I walked right in and Lorena began working right away. She was extremely gentle and quick - my estimated 3 hour tattoo took 1.5 hrs and it turned out better than I could have hoped for. Since then, I have returned to see Lorena and even brought my best friend along - who is also convinced that Black Line is amazing! Highly recommended.

I never leave bad reviews but I honestly feel like I have to warn people about this place. I got my septum pierced here this week. The process seemed quite rushed. The piercer did not mark where the piercing should go and didn’t really take a good look at my nose structure. He put the forceps in and said “it will go here”. I asked if it can placed father back as it seemed too far forward. He said yes, that did NOT happen. It came out very very crooked and lopsided. The piercing was almost not in my nose on one side (the piercing was angled downward and forward and due to this it came out on one side at the tip and very bottom of my septum) I was actually concerned that it was tear out due to this. The ring would not sit properly but instead sat up and back to one side. The placement was very off and they knew it because the piercer said that he can order me special jewelry to make it look less crooked. After showing pictures and videos to a friend of a friend who is well known piercer out of town, I was told to remove the piercing as there was no “fixing” it except to redo it. I removed the piercing and called the shop the next day. I told them the situation and asked for a refund since the cost was $98 (expensive, I know). After several back and forth phone calls the final answer I got was “final sale”. They did offer to redo it, which I am not comfortable with at all considering how poorly it turned out, which is what I explained. Still the answer I got was “final sale”. I even offered to return the jewelry, still “final sale”. I understand that I received a service therefore it’s a difficult thing to return, but when the service is this poorly done they should be looking out for their costumers. I even explained to them that I don’t think the piercer is bad at his job, but he did mess up my specific piercing, and therefore I wasn’t comfortable to have him redo it. I was told that the owner would call me back, this was 2 days ago. Still nothing. It’s obvious that I’ve lost my money. Do NOT go here. You will pay more here for a much worst service than you would receive at most other tattoo/ piercing places.

For my first tattoo, I was extremely nervous. I called the day of my tattoo and was greeted on the phone by a very helpful, outgoing and knowledgeable worker who made room for an appointment for me that day. I got to the studio, which I absolutely loved. It was clean and bright and made me feel comfortable. Sarah was my tattoo artist for my tattoo, she came off a little rude and kind of bothered by me when I first met her. She didn't talk to me at all during the tattoo session. She rushed me out of her room to someone else to tell me the aftercare. Although she came off bitchy, she did a good job. The people at the front desk are so helpful and kind they went through the aftercare with me and off I went. The tattoo was a bit overpriced from what I have heard but it was worth it. Will be going back to Black Line Studio but will try a different artist.

I had a wonderful experience here for the first time (for my fifth tattoo). The front desk staff and manager were very professional and friendly. The artist, Kelly, was amazing - she is very easy going and always ensures that the design is exactly what you want. Her work (a large mandala) turned out incredibly - the lines were crisp and clean, and she worked in an extremely timely manner. The prices are very reasonable, and I am very impressed with the work done. I would absolutely recommend this studio, and will definitely be back in the future!

I had first sent in my tattoo idea to Black Line, which was swiftly responded to by Lex who was fantastic!!! After a short discussion, she knew exactly what I wanted and chose Mark as the best suited artist. After reviewing his portfolio, I knew he was the right artist for me. On the day of my tattoo, I arrived at Black Line and was greeted by Alecsis, whom was extremely professional and polite and advised me Mark would be with me shortly. When the time came to get started, I gave Mark a few last minute changes and inputs which he confirmed was not a problem. Three hours later, I was left with the most amazing piece which will take just one more hour session to complete. Mark is extremely professional and his colour realism is out of this world. I would greatly recommend anyone to go to Black Line Tattoo Shop if you want the best in Toronto

Disappointed at the poor customer service afforded to my wife and I at this studio/location. We were looking to get our first tattoos and chose Black Line studios as they advertise themselves as the "best tattoo studio in Toronto" - this cannot be further from the truth and we realized it through our dealings with them. Thank God we did not get our tattoos here - and they can keep the $200 deposit we had paid. After all, that's just a small amount versus losing us as customers and the potential to lose any of our family, friends and colleagues - we will never recommend Black Line Studios to any of our family, friends and/or colleagues. Good news is we have now found the tattoo studio that we can say is the legit best studio (with the most professional and creative artists in the industry) and we will be getting our first tattoos (and possibly more in future) at this studio. Also happy to say that 3 of our friends have just booked tattoo appointments at the same studio.

I had a second lobe piercing and had a great experience. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and especially friendly. They put any nerves at ease with they calm and approachable demeanor. There is a large selection of earrings available at varying prices. Definitely happy and eager for another! The aftercare information is detailed and easily accessible. Products were provided to help with the healing, however it would have been appreciated if the price associated with them was noted upfront. Also, so that if the client would prefer to not have the products to know if there was an alternative available for aftercare.
