So I went to get a tattoo with my friend, at first shop seemed attractive and fascinating. As usual I deposited money and emailed the design. Came after 2 days for getting tattoo done. I was assigned an artist named LASEY he is the worst guy I ever met. I was a first timer so obviously was nervous a bit and got panicked when I saw this rude guy. I was getting a coloured tattoo so I thought he will ask me wat colour I want but was shocked as upon my asking him he said I know what I am going to do... LIKE SERIOUSLY??? I was still ok with that but then when he printed the design on my hand I was shocked that it was totally changed and when I brought this to his attention he said that’s what he is going to do!!! REALLY DUDE!!! Its a permanent thing and that too on my body... if my mind and heart is not allowing me why would I do that... my thing was just go with what I have given you but he was so rude and got mad and me and said “ if you don’t want to have this one- Leave “ Excuse Me!!! I went to reception for resolving this but the staff was so helpless and upon my asking for refund they gave it But I wanted someone to atleast talk with him or resolve my matter... that was enough of rudeness of that guy and the other staff... surely wouldn’t recommend anyone for this artist or shop... I really felt that it was his rascist behaviour with me .

Had a wrist tattoo done today, first tattoo ever. Walked in expecting a consultation and turns out Dominique had a cancellation, luckiest thing to ever happen to me. She was amazing and super gentle. She wasn't pushy at all and so friendly. I would recommend her to anyone. She's very detail oriented and made sure I was happy the whole time through. The rest of the staff was very nice and helpful. Thanks for the amazing experience.

I came to Gypsy Rose after going to another shop that I didn’t vibe with. After doing my research and feeling Dominique was the artist that most fit my style I made an appointment in August of 2017. Since that day Dominique has done two very large tattoos for me. The second being today. Words cannot even describe my appreciation for her as a person. Not to mention how insanely talented she is!! Dominique is the most incredible tattoo artist I’ve ever had the pleasure of being tattooed by! She is so passionate about what she does and cares so very much about the art & person she’s tattooing. Was in last July 2018 to get my young daughters ears pierced, I was under the impression that an ear piercing by a professional piercer with a needle was less painful, more humane thing to do. I forget the piercers name but it was a young woman. My daughter asked her if it would hurt & she said no, which I believe she didn't want to freak my daughter out by saying it may hurt a little. Anyhoo, my daughter screamed like the dickens & it was a challenge to convince her to get the second one done but we did. Later that same day the ball that they use as a closure for the earring fell off because the piercer did not squeeze it shut tight enough & the earring spun around in my daughters ear & the back hole grew shut a little. I called & told them this & they were very accommodating & said we could come back in & the piercer would fix it. Again my daughter asked if it would hurt & again the piercer told her it wouldn't (it did of course). My daughter wouldn't let her put the ball in this time so she taped over the gap & sent us home with balls to try & put in ourselves when my daughter was calmed down. Well my daughter was too untrusting now & wouldn't let us put the ball in. Eventually the tape would no longer stay on & the earring spun around & grew over again, then about 2 months later I noticed the ball had fallen off the other earring & it had spun around & that the back hole had closed too so I took both out & now her ears are unpierced & I don't imagine she'll ever want her ears pierced again. I had phoned them prior to check they would pierce the ears of a child the age of my daughter & they said they would. I do not think they should offer this for children, the piercer did not seem comfortable piercing my daughters ears & although I understand why she lied to my daughter, I don't think it was especially helpful. I won't go to another tattoo parlour if my daughter wants her ears pierced again in the future.

Better chance to get your piercings at other places as the person who does piercing will spontaneously "get sick" LoL ok if he preferres certain colors or certain ethnicities than others, idk if he is in the right business. Drove over an hour to be totally dissatisfied adn disappointed. Go elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this plaxe if ya want to get a piercing.

I had a bad piercing experience at another shop. They ended up piercing my helix with a stainless steel lip ring after telling me it was medical grade and charged me a beyond ridiculous price. I was having issues and they shooed me away. I went to Gypsy Rose, exhausted, frustrated, and in pain, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. They were able to get me in that day, even though they were fully booked. We discussed options and I felt confident in my choices and knowledge leaving there. I can not recommend them enough! Very knowledgeable and good at explaining what’s going on and what to expect. I will definitely be getting the rest of my set up done here and tell all my friends. If you’re looking for a shop, this is the place to go

Lucas did an amazing job piercing my children’s ears in Dec 2021. He was professional (sanitizing, sterilizing, advising on the process to myself and my kids, jewellery selection etc.), plus he was kind and patient. This helped my kids stay calm and they couldn’t believe how quick the piercing itself was. Their first ear-piercings were a positive and exciting experience thanks to Lucas! The piercings look beautiful!! So, so, so happy we didn’t do the old-school piercing gun.

I've personally had a brilliant custom back piece by Nina and lovely smaller pieces by Kervin, and could not be happier with the process and result. Many folks I know have had work by other artists in the shop, all with stunning outcomes as well. Nina and her entire team pride themselves on creating a friendly, welcoming and highly professional atmosphere. The calibre of their work is extremely high across the board, and with the style diversity of their artists you'd be hard pressed to not find what you're looking for! Cleanliness is second to none and their shop vibe is rad. Who doesn't want to watch B Zombie movies and chat with a room full of interesting people while you're sat in a chair for +four hours?!? Got my tragus pierced by Sarah and it was an awesome experience, I haven’t had a piercing in maybe like 7 years so I was a little nervous/didn’t know what to expect. But she was so smooth with it and the whole process took minutes. This shop is clean, the staff are professional and friendly. Can’t say enough good things, I’ll definitely be back and I’m glad I chose this shop! One thing I’ll say is I would have liked more jewellery options. I only wear gold and wanted one with a gem and they only had one option for me which ended up being sold out, so I got stuck with silver which I don’t really like. Otherwise, great experience, thank you!!

They were all rude and a little racist because she's an immigrant and speaks English poorly. My girlfriend recommended Gypsy Rose and they were extremely friendly to her and caring. She was nervous but the staff was so lovely and walked her through the experience. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.

I came here to get an industrial piercing done with my sister and friend September of 2020. The experience was fun but my piercing was not done properly and everything that could go wrong with it did. I went back about 2 times after and got the jewelry swapped out thinking that would help. The swelling did go down. Due to the second part of the piercing being too close to my head I cannot wear my face mask or sunglasses without it hurting over a year later. I also have some scare tissue on the inner side of my ear. I finally managed to take the jewelry out this morning as it got infected once again and the pain immediately stopped. It is still very swollen. I don't think I'll be putting any jewelry back in. The people who work here are lovely, I think that they need a more educated piercer though. When I went I got mine done by a girl then the 2 times after was a man. I don't know who works there now or if the same people still but I don't know if I'd recommend getting pierced here.

I got my nose and lip done. My nose REALLY hurt. I almost hit the guy in the junk. Lol thankfully I got his arm. Very clean and tidy place, a little expensive--but I've been out of the piercing world for a while so. (Probably all depends where you want infection or not) You pay for the respect of them making the process very clean. I can't remember when I got them done, but probably a month or so and healed. Recommend this place to others though.

Had my septum pierced four years ago when I was seventeen by Lucas, joked with him beforehand about having heard all the horror stories about people getting pierced through their cartilage and whatnot and was reassured he knew what he was doing and would not do so. But.. he ended up piercing me through that really thick bit above my upper lip and it never really healed properly and I just didn't know what to say and paid for my piercing and left. Ended up taking it out about a year later because of a lot of issues but. Just wanted to post my experience here for everyone to keep in mind. I've since had my septum redone by someone else and it's healing very well and is perfect :)

My two friends and I all booked piercing appointments back to back yesterday with Lucas at Gypsy Rose. I'll say right off the bat that we had a perfect experience, and I will definitely be going back. Kelsey (Lucas's apprentice) did all of our piercings (with permission from us of course, we could have said no with no problem) and she was awesome. It was SO sanitary! Between each of us, everything was sprayed and wiped down, hands were washed, and new gloves and needles were used. We filled out forms, showed our ID's, and afterward got thorough aftercare instructions. They were patient and understanding, and were kind enough to give my friend some chocolate and help her sit down when she became light headed. Prices were amazing for the quality of our experience and we all left very happy (although we were a little sore!) Overall, I would highly recommend that anyone who is interested in getting a piercing in Calgary, that they go here. Five stars for sure!

This is by far one of the worst shop i have delt with Calgary went in there sat down with an artist got my tattoo design had to put $100 down. 3 days before my appointment I got called to Toronto so I made a point to phone and change properly so I would not lose my deposit only to find out a week later when calling that nobody took that appointment aparently.. No sir we would not of done that and I just asked everyone in the shop so you loose your deposit. Smart group of people over there rip me off for $100 when The tattoo would have cost well over 1000 intelligent group of people! Do yourself a favor and go to professional company that uses a computer to do their appointments Lol

Place was ok. I’ve been to a few different piercing places and sadly I’d have to say this was the worst one. I came here because it was a place I could get into, the man at the desk was nice, but the lady who did the piercing came off a little rude, almost like she didn’t want to be there, or I was wasting their time? Anyways, I got my rook pierced, and going in with the mindset that it might hurt considering I’ve got most that are supposed to be the worst on the pain scale but weren’t, I wasn’t expecting it to be super painful. Usually piercers are a lot more cautious when it comes to cleaning the area before hand, and walking through the process. While explaining things as she went to make me more comfortable. Maybe she just assumed that I’ve gotten it done quite a bit before, that I didn’t need to hear it all again? I’ve got to say, I was quite nervous because she did not line up the needle to prepare before hand. She also only put one dot on where it would enter. I asked why there’s only the top dot and not the bottom dot because I’d like to see where it will exit. She said she only needs the one to pierce it, but I didn’t know exactly where the piercing would be placed. It was extremely painful, and she caused a bit of an exit wound on my ear with the most bleeding I’ve ever had on a piercing so I sort of knew it wasn’t completely right. I got it done this past Tuesday, and it is Monday night and still very very tender and sore compared to how my others have been a week prior. I am disappointed with the professionalism and performance of this place, and am sad to say that I will not be going back.

I highly recommend gypsy rose to all my friends or anyone who asks about my tattoos. I've got 40+ hours of work done with absolutely no complaints, and i plan to get alot more done! Sal is awesome up front, friendly and very helpful booking or rescheduling appointments. Devon is some sort of tattoo wizard, I've come in with ideas and somehow he makes them ten times better. I got my daith pierced on each side to deal with chronic migraines. I went from about 10 migraines per month with the severity of pain ranging from an 8-10 to now 2-3 migraines per month (if that!) with the severity of the pain ranging from an 4-6 now. The woman who pierced me was so great and I told her that if I saw an improvement I would make sure to write a review! I didn’t catch her name but she was lovely and very professional. Any other chronic migraine sufferers should check this place out and get both their daith pierced. Thank you Gypsy Rose!

Please dont get pierced here, unfortunately much like every calgary piercer they arent APP certified and have given me to short of a bar on my labret piercing which has hindered healing as the front bead recedes into the flesh of my lip , and botched my significant others piercings in a delicate area. To the piercers, please PLEASE go get certified, brush up on your Health and safety, anatomy, aftercare, and overall knowledge on piercing, the lady who pierced us was really nice, she just didn't weild the full skill to safely do what needs to be done here. Seriously, get. Certified. You dont fully understand what you're doing. It appeared we were more likely to get excuses than a refund so we didnt bother. I hope to see this shop improve. Edit: Lady at the front was very nice Guy over the phone was incredibly unpleasant to speak with, felt as though I was being talked down to. Was also really taken aback by how things were just happening, there was no explanation about what was going on at the time of my piercing and it all happened so fast I had no time to react, which might sound ideal but it drove my nerves through the roof for the piercing instead of being able to just breathe through it, that said this is my first piercing after my ears so I was also a bit taken aback by the sheer pain of something going through my lip. After contacting the shop directly to inquire about doing an immediate walk-in for a piercing, the employee I conversed with made an appointment for me and demanded that I be punctual. I arrived at the shop at the requested time, selected my jewellery, then completed the appropriate paperwork. Following the aforementioned, I remained in the reception area for thirty minutes without any further updates or, for that matter, any contact from the staff, whatsoever. The first point of contact I encountered over the phone insisted in a demeaning manner that I arrive on time - essentially making me feel like I was burdening them with my business. And, after arriving at the shop, the male employee was unfriendly and rushed me to pick jewellery and complete the paperwork - only to have me sit and wait for thirty minutes after my appointment (which was ensured via phone and a confirmation text). So, after the treatment I received and their inconsideration of my time, I left. As such, I strongly suggest that those seeking either tattoos or piercings go to a different shop where your business is, not only welcomed, but encouraged with enthusiasm. Based on the service I ‘received’, Gypsy Rose made me feel like I was an inconvenience. So, if any seekers of either tattoos or piercings would rather not feel like a social pariah, I suggest taking your business elsewhere.

got my nipples pierced here by Sarah and on day 3 of having them i felt as though they were placed wrong so i went back. sarah assured me with confidence that they were pierced right. still not being happy with the placement i went to a certified piercer in airdrie and she confirmed that i was indeed pierced wrong. i was pierced too deep (through the actual areola and not the nipple!!) and the bars were too short. i had to take them out after only 2 weeks of having them. i was assured by not one but 2 people in the shop in airdrie that i was pierced incorrectly. i was also told by sarah to wash my nipples with CLEAR SOAP, which i've never heard of someone recommending cleaning fresh nipple piercings with soap. please use a sterile saline solution!!!!!!! i also confirmed with the certified piercers in airdrie that i shouldn't wash them with soap. complete waste of money and time. i paid $180 to have to just take them out anyway ): very disappointed and sadly will not be coming back again

This was my second time at Gypsy Rose and once again, I was so impressed! I got my helix pierced by Lucas and recently had my rook done with Sarah. Both were awesome! The bottom ball of my rook piercing fell out the day after I got it, and even though Sarah wasn't doing piercings she still booked me in to get it put back together. Had my septum pierced four years ago when I was seventeen by Lucas, joked with him beforehand about having heard all the horror stories about people getting pierced through their cartilage and whatnot and was reassured he knew what he was doing and would not do so. But.. he ended up piercing me through that really thick bit above my upper lip and it never really healed properly and I just didn't know what to say and paid for my piercing and left. Ended up taking it out about a year later because of a lot of issues but. Just wanted to post my experience here for everyone to keep in mind. I've since had my septum redone by someone else and it's healing very well and is perfect :)

What's a great way of spending Valentine's day? Getting tattooed here of course. It was a great experience Kervin did 3 simple finger tattoos and was very professional, and really easy to talk to. My finger tattoos have such amazingly straight, clean lines which I'm impressed with considering how bony my fingers are. Which is great as finger tattoos need plenty of maintenance (compared to other areas of the body) so I'll be back for touch ups and probably more tattoos. The shop is very clean, very bright and a good size.

Neat and clean shop, friendly staff. I got my lower lip labret pierced by one of the staff members here, and haven't had any issues with the piercing while it was healing or afterwards. They have good jewelry, and you do get the option of selecting your jewelry, but they are a bit more expensive depending on the jewelry. I'll probably go back if I decide to get more piercings.

Update ; I love my tattoo, however I was and still kind of disappointed how it healed. The aftercare is actually called dry healing, I know that because I researched it. Letting your newly fresh tattoo dry out for the first 3 days or so. No moisturizers is NOT a good idea what so ever. By day 2 my tattoo was a huge mess, a thick? Cracking dry tattoo. I was embarrassed to even have people looking at it. I had two previous tattoos done elsewhere, and I tell you that I never ever had a problem with the healing process. So people, from my experience don't dry heal a tattoo my tattoo was a mess. When I went back for my tattoo touch up my artist was cold, I tried to make conversation Nope that wasn't happening, he tried make me feel bad for coming back for a touch up. I didn't felt welcomed. And I thought that this was a great place

Everyone here is super friendly and kind! My friend got her first tattoo done here. The artists put so much effort into their art and are always wanting you to be comfortable. They DO offer free touch ups for most, if I'm not mistaken, most tattoos because fading is bound to happen during the healing process. They're quick to offer water and suckers if your feeling unwell or nervous. Just all around felt welcomed! They also accommodated both me and another friend of ours so we could support her through the experience. I'm really considering the same place for my first tattoo as well!

I went to my normal piecer to see if she could change it, and she tells me that the piercing isn't even done properly... Not only did I have to re-purchase jewelry but I had to get me ear re-pierced! I ALWAYS recomend this shop when people ask me where I get my work done. The artists are incredibly taleneted people and always a blast to hang out with while getting a tattoo. Ive had piercings done here also that have healed incredibly well. The male piercer has a bit of an attitude problem and isnt the friendliest but if you can get past that, the work he does is properly done by the book. Will continue to speak highly of this place, and plan on having more work done.

I spent roughly 32 hours sitting/laying next to Kate, we didn't say much to each other but I trusted her with my sleeve and she absolutely exceeded my expectations! Kate was nothing short of amazing. Her gallery pictures on the website caught my eye right away, and I didn't hesitate to book a consultation. The consultation was pre-covid and I showed up, chatted for a few minutes, gave her some photos and the first session was made. Shortly after, Covid hit. People (including myself) lost their jobs. Some sessions got pushed back due to lockdowns and overall it made the process a lot more difficult. I will however say Kate had my back. If there were any last minute openings, she would let me know and I would try my best to be there. FINALLY it was done and I'm happy to have her artwork on my body till I get eaten by worms. The shop itself was always clean and everyone inside was always nice! If you get tattooed by Kate, beware there's almost always a box of donuts on the desk 5 feet away so eat beforehand (as you should anyways)!

Been there for all my tattoos over the years and have taken the wife also..... We have always had a great experience with staff and artists, actually both me and the wife have appointments in July to get more ink.....this is the only place that we'll go for all our tattoos!!

Got infection and told the staff I had gone to docter after waiting 9 days and suffering from fever and aches and had to take antibiotics as the tattoo was not healing properly. Inflamed and oozing of pus still 9 days after getting the tattoo. The staff were rude and confrontational and in denial of the whole ordeal. Docter assessed the infection and got me on strong antibiotics right away. The staff seem to think they are more educated then doctors who have done 8 years post secondary education and have medical licences. Im getting blood work done to make sure I haven’t contracted and disease from their equipment. Their extremely rude and arrogant and did not take this matter seriously.

My girlfriend and I got our tattoos done here. We decided to go here after some recommendations from friends. We placed a deposit and set a date. We got our tattoos done by Demara whom was so nice to us and very friendly as were the rest of the staff. They had forensic files on and were taking about crimial cases that my girlfriend was researching so the vibe was over the top amazing for us. Our tattoos came out amazing. I will 100% be going back.

She was extremely professional and enthusiastic about my tattoo and took all my feedback and did a super awesome sketch. She made me feel very comfortable during the experience and encouraged me despite me being a wimpy baby. Her line work, shading, and stippling was all perfect and when I saw the tattoo in the mirror I could not help giving her a Covid elbow bump and telling her she killed it! I would highly recommend Naia and Gypsy Rose and I think Naia is on her way to being the next ink master! The place was clean professional and the equipment was excellent and comfortable and the price very reasonable and fair.

Worst place ever. went there couple weeks ago and booked an appointment for June 7th. The lady took the deposit gave me the receipt and asked me to come on 31st may for a meet up with my artist. A few days later when I called them to change the timing for my first meet up with the artist, I found out that the lady who served me didn’t put me in the system and they doubled booked my time slot with a different customer. Instead of fixing her error, she asked me to change my appointment time to later in the evening or some other day. Horrible people not even sorry for their mistake at all

I went to this place to have a nose ring put in, about two days ago. One of the nice gentelemen who’s name I’m not aware of, gave me really good advise regarding the bump I had on the nose peircing site. He told me what to do and how to take care of it. He then suggested that I should get rid of the current jewelry I had on which was actually irritating the bump that’s on the nose, according to him. So he did not even charge me with the new jewelry which was so sweet/nice of him and honestly no one would ever do that ! I wish I had gotten his name so at least he gets the credit, but I really liked the service he provided and would definitely recommend this place! It was a job well done and quick! I started spraying my bump site with bactine and honestly the bump is getting smaller and smaller . Thank you so much for your help! :D
