I’m in Edmonton for a week and I wanted to get my 2nd tattoo, I was looking for a tattoo shop with the best reviews and i made the right choice. From the moment I walked in I felt really comfortable and the entire staff was nice. The artist was Tony and he couldn’t have done a better job, I definitely recommend him. The cost of it was very reasonable, if I end up coming back I would definitely come here again.

I got my first tattoo done at Crimson Empire and right from the get go it was a wonderful experience. I had originally planned to go to three different tattoo shops that were well reviewed and decided where I wanted to go from there but after my first stop at Crimson I didn't feel the need to look any further. The girl working at the counter was friendly and upbeat the whole time I talked to her, she helped me out with everything and answered all of my questions, no problem. I was booked for my consultation with Ashley and I came back a week later to discuss what I wanted. As I only wanted font, the consultation was short and sweet, but none the less she made sure she had everything I wanted and even gave me her email to contact her for changes. I was booked a month later to come back for the actual tattoo and the third visit proved to be just as good as the first two. Ashley was great the whole time, she put up with me changing the stencil over and over and in the end did an excellent job. As the tattoo was only font it was done in no time, but since it did cover the length of my right rib cage Ashley made sure to check up on me throughout the process. Overall the people were great, they treated me with respect and answered all of my questions; the art, both on display and in the portfolios looked very impressive; and the shop was well managed and clean. My only negative was the fact I had to wait over a month to get the actual tattoo, though I see now why there is such a wait and I have to say it was well worth it. From my experience I plan on coming back for more, though I have the goal of getting an actual image done by someone there, not just font. Thanks Crimson!

I worked with Greg. I originally brought in a design I had put together and he was very frank with me. The design I brought in wouldn't age well, and spent a half hour chatting with me to come up with some ideas that would work better. I then went home with no pressure to decide that day if I wanted to work with him or not. I went back a few days later with a modified design with some elements drastically. That day after a quick chat I put down my deposit. When I went in for my actual appointment he was super professional and worked well with any suggestions made the day of and took lots of care to ensure everything was lined up and properly sized. He made sure I was comfortable and able to sit through the whole tattoo. Healing went well and the shop was super clean. Love these guys!

Had my second tatoo at this place with Wen, the tatoo line work was uneven and colour was unfinished, she was very rush to finishing up my tatoo, no patient at all :( …….. because all her bad works I have to spend more money to get fix it and covering up. I would never go back this place again.

I have been to Crimson Empire for all three of my tattoos. The first was a simple Latin phrase and though it was plain with no embellishment, Chad gave me exactly what I wanted: crisp, clean text. My second tattoo was a Celtic forever heart and Vanessa did a superb job; I smile every time I see the precise entwining curves. The third tattoo was just completed today, and I really appreciated the time Landon took to ensure the simple memento for my mother (her year of birth and death with a heart beat in between) was delicate, lovely, and exactly what I wanted. Each artist I have worked with has been professional and friendly. I feel fortunate to have such a reputable place for my skin art :)

I got my first (and only) tattoo at Crimson with Sheila this week. Its on my back, so not the most comfy of places, but my artist Sheila made the experience fun and the pain bearable. She drew a beautiful stencil with the design I liked and was an absolute pleasure to work with. She's funny to talk to and uses numbing foam (thank God!) to help with the pain. Highly recommended. The shop is cozy and clean and it's obvious the other artists have a relaxed vibe with each other. Everyone is friendly and professional and I promise you'll have a great experience if you are in a good headspace and come prepared. My husband got a shoulder tattoo with another artist at the same time and also had a good time. Great shop, talented artists and totally worth the money. Don't cheap out on something you'll wear forever. Crimson is one of the best shops in Edmonton and if you're thinking about going there - go there. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Sheila!

Trying to set up a custom tattoo over email is not easy but living 3 hours from the city, I didn't have much choice. Bella and Ian made the process run pretty smoothly emailing back and forth for weeks prior. They set me up with Greg and he was very knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Even on the day of my appointment, Greg spent an hour with me before starting, tweaking the design to make sure it looked good not just when I walked out but for years to come. He listened closely to what I wanted but also gave me his feedback as to what would or would not work well. This was my 4th tattoo and has healed the quickest by far. I would definitely come back to Crimson and definitely recommend Greg. Thank you guys! UPDATE: I did go back but this time Greg referred me to his colleague, Alan Coates. Alan did a raven piece on my back and I was equally pleased with his professionalism and the results.

Made an appointment for a consultation. The artist to perform the consult called in sick that day, I was not informed and a fairly friendly lady took notes of what I would like to get done. I was told to hear from the artist in about 48h. I inquired after one week of not hearing anything and was told I would be contacted soon. Played this game three more times and never even received a quote at this point, 3 months later. Looks like they don't need any business.

Came in for walk in Saturday, I came early and was greeted by friendly staff members who dealt well with the chaos of everyone that showed up for walk ins that day. They were organized and worked quickly to attend to all the clients that showed up that morning. Clean modern shop. Was tattooed by Vanessa. She was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She worked with my ideas and reference material to create a piece that suited me perfectly. She provided suggestions for colours (which I don't have an eye for), and gave me an accurate quote for the work. Good shop, good artist, would ride the Crimson wave again.

The overall atmosphere of this tattoo parlor is incredible. You walk in and instantly feel welcomed and comfortable. I emailed and got an almost instant reply from Magick, she answered all of the questions I could possibly have had and got me booked in that same day. I was squeezed in for a last minute appointment with Alan who designed a tattoo based on the a picture of the general idea of what I wanted, which turned out to be better than the one I had in mind. He was very friendly throughout the entire experience and was super The line work is awesome and the tattoo itself healed way faster than I'd expected. 5 stars all around. I got tattooed by artist Tony today and my tattoo looks amazing. From the very beginning when I gave Tony my idea sketch to the art viewing I did down to today when it was time to get it - Tony and the other staff were so amazing. Friendly, professional, the best. Tony specifically is awesome, as he is the first tattoo artist that was confident in his ability to tattoo dark skin, knew what would make the tattoo pop and not just blend in worn my skin. This makes a world of a difference as 6 tattooes later, I have finally found an artist who is extremely skilled in their work. I wouldn’t dream of going to any other tattoo shop, or be inked by any other tattoo artist, than Crimson Empire and Tony.

Sydney Dyer did a great job on mine and my wife's tattoos. Although she didn't design them, she made sure the artistic script of the Chinese characters were preserved from the original design. She was very meticulous and took much pride in her work. Crimson Empire staff was very friendly and it's an inviting tattoo parlour to go to and relax before getting inked. Great experience for my first time. Yes I'll go back for more.

She recommended Allan and I couldn't be happier! My tattoo looks so amazing (I could cry!). Allan was so professional and nice and you can tell he has a lot of talent. Artists are all really nice and welcoming. Great at answering all of my questions. The shop has large windows facing a pond so you can watch cute duckies while getting tattooed. Also they were really cool and played Florence + the Machine over the speakers almost the whole time I was here.

Was here today for a walk-in Saturday session. If you’re thinking of coming for a walk-in, show up early! At 10:43, there were people already lined up waiting. It’s a very clean shop and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Vanessa was my artist and she did a damn good job with the design I wanted. Got it all done the same day and the price was phenomenally cheap. Was a great experience overall. Recommended for further ink therapy sessions. ☝️????

I stumbled across Crimson Empire while googling the best tattoo shops in Edmonton because the artist who tattooed me in the past, I can't find. Which, I am thankful for really :) Right from my consult with Vanessa (she and the staff are so friendly, greeted with a smile) to getting my tattoo, I felt welcome at this shop. I went in with a picture my daughter had drawn up for me in memory of my Grandmother. Vanessa was enthusiastic to tattoo it but in her expertise and where I wanted it placed, she suggested we change it up a bit. Once her vision was sent to me, my daughter and I approved as it was beautiful. I recently got said tattoo from Vanessa and her attention to detail is spot on. I went to Crimson Empire this past weekend, with one of my friends, for us to both get our first tattoos. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful suggesting artists that would be good for what I had in mind, and I got almost immediate responses to all of my emails. My tattoo artist was Jess Doyle and I can't recommend her enough! She is not only an amazing artist, who took my design and turned it into something more beautiful than I could imagine, but she also had such a lovely personality - it made the day just fly by! (Not to mention she was super tolerant of my ever twitching calf, and looking at my tattoo you would never know I twitched the whole time!!!!) I have nothing but amazing things to say about this shop and my experience!!!!

This was my first tatoo with crimson and let me say it was an exceptional experience. I couldn't get over the talent of the artist samantha story. I gave her some pictures to give her an idea of what I wanted and she not only nailed the idea but also drew it free hand on my side! As im pretty un-artistic, that's nothing short of amazing in my mind. In terms, of the staff there, I cannot emphasize my appreciation. Not only did they manage to fit me in on extremely short notice, but the manager eathen and other staff members also took it upon themselves to periodically come in and distract me, as it was an extremely painfull area to get a tatoo. This is somthing that will not be forgotten.

Not sure you could leave a place feeling more disappointed than you can leaving here. Artists with the biggest egos. And no concept of time management or customer service. Rather have unfinished pieces than walk back thru their doors. The artists paycheck is this places top priority. Nothing else matters. Seems like they are ok with no repeat customers other than buddies. City is big enough they can just keep a revolving door of customers. Then simply switch out a few artists and expect a pat on the back.... when nothing actually changes!!! I have multiple unfinished pieces from a few of their artists.. same results each time....

I have several tattoos and this is by far the best place I've ever been. I got an entire arm sleeve done by curt and it turned out fantastic, I get compliments on it everywhere I go. The staff are very friendly and easygoing and the artists are extremely skilled and personable. It is a very clean shop with a nice man made lake view to top it off. This place is worth every penny and I reccomend it to anyone looking for ink.

Was a walk in today. Told we will call you and come back. There were ten people ahead of us plus some booked appointments called back at 3:00 they didn’t know if we would get a call. Tree people ahead of us. Poorly organized. No stating how long the appointment would be, very pricey , they don’t tell you how many on staff make you wait around all day without knowing even if you can get it done. Can’t rate the artists because was unable to see anyone ! Don’t waste your time with Saturday drop ins. PS there were at least seven people behind us ! I’ve booked to get done one hour drive out of town. Better rates and can get in sooner. Sorry no business from me or anyone who asks hue my experience was.

Love Vanessa! She does amazing watercolour tattoos. Is super fun and easy to talk to and to figure out what works best for you. She’s a kind and puts everything she has into every tattoo! She is also very clean both technique wise and very clean station! She has awesome techniques! This is one of the tattoos she did for me. It’s 1/2 of a matching mother daughter tattoo.

I had an overall bad experience at Crimsom Empire. I know it might not apply to all tattoo artists there, however, my tattoo is not ''bad'' but its not quality. Some of my lines are jacked up. And went back to the shop to talk with the ''artist'' but i was dealt with much attitude. Bottom line i went to this shop expecting to receive a quality service and tattoo and walk out with and ''OK'' tattoo and very bad service.

Was booked in for over 2 months and was in contact with the artist which told me to book the tattoo appointment which I did then a couple weeks was called by the rude receptionist telling me I had to come back in ..I emailed the artist a few times when finally the artist calls me after knowing and agreeing on what I wanted and says I had to come in to discuss it again and move my appointment. .like if there was something that he needed me for he couldn't even let me know months before. .horrible customer service and disrespectful. ...would not recommend do not go to crimson empire to get tattooed. ..there's tons of better shops in edmonton with artists that care about there customers

Came for a walk in today saturday june 9th and was told there were still 8 people out of 10 to go and that they probably wouldn't get to them all today. Not sure if people line up early to get in and get a 3 to 4 hour piece of work done and capitalize on 1 artist time leaving no time for anyone else. With my line of work I can't make appt thru the week to get in and my only day off work is a Sunday (sometimes). If I can get in to get a small piece done my review will change but as of now I would recommend looking for a different studio.

Very well deserved 5 stars not only to a beautiful welcoming shop but for my amazing artist, Tony! This piece is one of many originals that he’s drawn and it is killer. Super chill vibe, very professional but relaxed and was a blast to chat with! By far my most enjoyable time being tattooed I’ve ever had. 1000% getting more work done by him!
