Huge selection of jeans here. All the denim is premium here and there's a lot of cool vintage Japanese posters and ads throughout the store (at least when I was there in 2013). Owner and staff were super nice to me. 90% if my jeans are from Naked and Famous (Tate and Yoko is their brick and mortar store) and I love it all. They do unique stuff to their jeans. They also have the highest selection of premium Japanese denim in store as well.

Beautiful denim but the sizing was not as advertised so the jeans don’t fit right on me. Contacted Tate & Yoko for guidance on how to exchange for a different size or fit for me, but received template response on how to return a product by mail. I followed up to ask for help again, but received no response. As long as the online service makes it hard to find the right-fitting pair of jeans, it’s best to try jeans on whenever possible. But that’s not as feasible in a pandemic and for those who don’t live in or near MTL, and it’s too bad since online shopping is a thing. Difficult experience for me. Super nice looking jeans, but sizing and fit are a challenge and not a fun shopping experience.

I felt compelled to leave a review as this was both a Black Friday sale and the quickest shipping ever received from Canada. BF sale mentioned as various merchants I'd ordered from preemptively stated there would be processing delays while Tate + Yoko seemed unphased, working to ensure their customer service standards were upheld regardless of sale season or not. When it comes to clothes, it's never easy to find the right size. Especially when it's with a brand you've never owned before. With all of the options out there, having to pay for return shipping significantly lowers the appeal of shopping at your store. I ordered three pairs of jeans, all the same size and cut, two fit fine, one was too small. Either the brands QA is subpar, or sizing is not accurate. Either way, once I get this exchange hassle sorted I will most likely not shop with you again. Edit: I didn't realize this was a public review, so I'll adjust my star rating from 2 to 4 stars, but leave my review as is.

You get what you pay for! Fantastic selection of Naked and Famous Denim for men (and more for women coming soon I hope), made in Canada, with quality Japanese fabrics. I bought several pairs for my husband online and the experience was great—1 year on they're softer and not even that faded yet! I finally took the plunge myself recently and got myself some comfortable, great fitting pants. What I appreciate most is the thorough measurement charts. There was a jumpsuit I wanted to buy from them but knew from the thigh measurement it wouldn't fit me... On the other hand every pair of pants I've ordered from them has fit its wearer perfectly. We could buy with confidence thanks to those same charts! If you're looking to treat yourself and can afford to move more towards sustainable fashion, Tate+Yoko is a wonderful place to shop. I can't wait to visit them in person after the pandemic is over!

Tate + Yoko is a place I usually buy N&F products from as they are the official online retailer for those products in Canada and the USA. They often have additional fits and styles that you can't easily find at N&F stockists and they are very good in their service and quick turn around most of the time. You might have a small delay if you are ordering something to be hemmed during a major sale but that is the same with any retailer and Tate + Yoko typically does this a bit faster than most that I have ordered from. Great service on their end, my only recommendation is to double check all the size guides as it is easy to make a mistake and purchase the wrong size if you are not careful.

There are also lots of unique things that really take you out of the outside world into what seems like an odd collectors room. Ummm, Tate + Yoko asked me to post a review. I purchased 4 items from them in the past 3 months...three pair of Jeans and one long sleeve sweat shirt. The products are excellent quality in general. I found though, that the finishing , such as buttonholes is not always perfect. Price is high and they do raise expectations in their publicity so I was a bit disappointed in some of the finishing. This does not take away from the functionality of the garments and it is not visible when wearing the garment, but they could do a better job at finishing. The big issue is the fit. It took me a number of returns to get the fit correct even though I measured and ordered first time against the instructions in their charts, I still had to return all three pairs of jeans and upsize to get the correct fit. The sweat shirt does not fit me either but I use it as a work shirt so I kept it without returning. The jeans seem to be undersized and the shirt oversized compared to their charts. Their return policy is ok but they charge in USD so it is not easy to calculate the tax etc and each return was covered by a USD voucher and when I reordered, the voucher value did not jive with the price of the reorder garment so I always had to top up the payments for the exchanges. The USD is losing against the Canadian dollar so I think I should have had a credit in my account when all was said and done. They also charge shipping in USD which is strange if they ship from Montreal. Is it possible that their major market is in the USA and that they don't accommodate Canadian customers in CDN currency even though they ship from Canada?? Am I satisfied? Well when considering the alternatives, I suppose I am. Will I reorder more from them, well now that I know my size , I suppose I might. But if you are considering placing an order, be prepared for some to and fro on the fit and some higher prices because of the USD thingy.

Had a great experience with Tate+Yoko! I see a lot of people complaining about the sizing and fit, and while the website has a very informative page on explaining how to get the correct size, it may be confusing for people who are new to selvedge denim. While an in-person visit would be the best to choose the perfect pair of jeans, this may not be possible with the current situation now. What could be better is a disclaimer on the sizing chart module that the measurements are all taken flat - not pertaining to true body measurements and/or a link to the size guide page (I know you have a video already, but some folks just don't like clicking on videos...).

Hello from London. Tate + Yoko and Naked & Famous have become my number one favourites. Amazing fabric innovation around standard sizes, takes the risk out of buying selvedge denim on-line. They continue to come up with new and exciting variations seemingly every month. N&F shirts are also fantastic. Excellent customer service that goes above and beyond to make sure you order the correct fit and when you occasionally get it wrong they make it right (even when it was my fault!). They bring so much fun into denim - which sometimes gets a bit too serious. The quality and the fades are awesome - and their great value for money has no peer in my mind.

Great products but horrible return policy. I was not offered a refund on my credit card but only a store credit. That's not good will. I spent over $500, and also bought a sale priced item and they would not allow that to be returned either, so I got stiffed on $100. Beware!!! Especially if you are buying sales items with such an onerous and draconian return policy! Caveat Emptor!

I’ve got great experiences with N&F and would highly recommend their products, truly amazing quality and made in Canada (big fan). Great online service; just under a year ago I bought a size that didn’t fit right and customer service was very helpful on exchanging the item (even in lockdown). If there is one tiny thing I could suggest to improve, would be the inside seams of the jeans. Not sure if this is the case with all the cuts, but so far I’ve noted that the inside inner leg seam is not sown down with double stitching but rather sticks out and looks unfinished. It’s a tiny detail, that would give the jeans a more solid look if one were to were to cuff the ends. Anyway, great stuff , looking forward to future products.

Be very careful ordering from this company. They do not allow returns except for store credit, and they charge $15 restocking fee to return anything. So now I HAVE to buy something else for the same value as before or else I lose another $15 dollars for no reason. And let's hope the next thing fits perfectly or else I have to try again after losing another $15 dollars on a return. For a company that has a few stores in the entire country so you can't try things on to not allow returns is ridiculous. I wish I had known before purchasing because once you try something, you HAVE to find something you want. These clothes are not worth it.

The staff is super helpful, I have had to make additional requests after a purchase and the staff response is always quick and satisfactory. Highly don't suggest buying online. I got two pairs of jeans in the jean size I have always been and they were too small but this wasn't the issue. The issue is the return policy, first they don't tell you what you can and can't be returned till after you receive your items, I found out only one of mine were returnable. Second you have to pay for the return label to be mailed to you ($35.00). There is a time limit to make the return which isn't feasible with the label being mailed to you. The jeans are nice and they do have a great product but only buy if you can go into a store and talk to them in person. And, money return isn't an option it has to be store credit which is understandable. Make sure not to take any tags off before trying on because they must be returned with everything on them.

Bro I did not get the guy's name who helped me out yesterday but I actually thought he was getting commission. He went above and beyond what I would expect. He explained the different type of denim jackets (Type 1, Type 2, Type 3) and even suggested I look into different fits that would fit my body type more while being extremely respectful with the feedback. I'm grateful that he offered his Type 1 custom-made jacket for me to try on as well. He definitely knows his stuff and passionate about his job. Completely honest and thorough on any questions asked such as: how the jacket would fade and if I did customization on it, how it would affect the overall jacket, etc. He went to the back several times to give me sizing and asked for additional information when he was not sure. He never complained at all. Friend who came in with me said she wanted to thank you and everyone in the store for recommending several places for brunch in Montreal. Recommend going in if you have any questions, customer service is top notch.

Bought a pair in store at a separate retailer and really liked the quality. Was disappointed that the inner thighs wore so quickly... however, I wore them constantly and so I got a second pair. Their sizing is extremely small. And though they have different 'styles' of jeans, read/dissect the sizing guide carefully because even the high skinny jeans all have different sizing. Returns are tedious and they only give you store credit. So I'm now stuck with jeans that are too small and not nearly as comfortable as before (this is my third pair that I'm now trying). I won't be buying from here again.

Had my package stolen once when it was left at the door of my apartment unit. Tate + Yoko customer service asked for a police report to issue refund or reshipment. It just seems too much trouble, even though I understand why they would want "absolute proof" that I am not stiffing them for one free $40 T shirt. A more "human" and customized customer service experience would've been for Tate to look into my purchase data and discover that I like a certain type of product, in this case, the wonderful plain Tees, and decide fairly confidently that my package did get stolen - because I purchased the exact same Tee a week later -__-/// Yes, that's how much I enjoy the product. And yes, I understand customer service's reasoning. But no, the treatment wasn't as great as some other indie brands and it left a bad taste. I love the quality of jeans and I have no issues there. But since I am in the U.S. trying to guess what size and fit I am is so hard without trying them on. The measurements and guides help but I was over analyzing every little measurement and sure enough my pants were a little snug. No big deal, but had to pay $15 for the label to return and then received gift card. So to avoid this again I had to buy a similar pair from Nordstrom, wait for those to come in the mail, try those on and then return to Nordstrom. If they fit I will have to buy off you guys again with the gift card. The hours spent to get one pair of pants is more than I’m proud of.

While I love their jeans the customer service experience hasn’t been the greatest. I’ve had to return 2 pairs which ran me around $36 in shipping. $21 the first time then the second time they wouldn’t provide a free return even though there was a size discrepancy, but they did offer a prepaid $15 return label. That would have been nice to know about the first time. I’d just gotten a pair in the same size that fit perfectly but the new one, same size, was too tight. I was informed that different styles fit differently. Sure enough there was 2 inch difference. Not quite what I was expecting or hoping for. I unfortunately do not think I will be purchasing any more jeans from them even though I have been for over 13 yrs. Value & customer service are important to me. Ordered two pairs of jeans, and unfortunately one pair sold out, and was refunded. Now this normally wouldn’t be a issue and I just asked for a full refund and to cancel the order. They were quick with responding back to emails until I asked for the full order to be canceled, and I’ll just buy both pairs else where. Still have yet to hear back from them after sending multiple messages. So after asking for the order to be canceled, instead of receiving a response back, they just send me a tracking number saying my one pair of jeans were shipped. That’s annoying but hey, it’s the holidays. So the second pair of jeans come in and they are the wrong size, not even close to the measurements even with the variance given on their measurement guide. So you can understand how upset this situation has been. 1) They oversold the jeans I wanted and took about a week to tell me, so I couldn’t order off a different site. 2) Asked for my whole order to be canceled after they told me they oversold a pair, and didn’t say or do anything to make the error better. 3) Instead of asking how I wanted to proceed with my order, I mean if you refund half the order shouldn’t you ask if I wanted to continue with the purchases or cancel the full order? I mean that is what Customer Service is? 4) When I requested that my order just be canceled, they stopped responding to emails and shipped the order, along no effort to correct their error. 5) The jeans come in and are the wrong size and not even close to their tag size, or the measurements of their site. 6) I wish I could say this was a one time issue, but sadly it wasn’t and this has been a issue I have dealt with in the past as well. So unfortunately I will no longer be supporting the brand and will be contacting my credit card company for a refund since they have yet to respond back to my emails.
