If you don't like what your tailor is wearing, don't ask them to make suit for you. This is a phrase I find really accurate, especially with this tailor shop. I tried this shop because of all the glamour presented, and the moment I stepped in the people I saw were in poorly cut shirts, not a good sign. I asked for some shirts, knowing this is a good way to test one's handicraft, and I got persuaded to choose their 'better' fabrics. They tried to assure me their quality by saying they have suited for a lot of star or football teams, which I am aware that some are suited by their counterpart in UK but NOT in HK, so how good those ppl look is not a guarantee for what you might get. After picking fabric and settled the price, I awaited for my fitting. The only fitting I had come up with a number of problems. First they had the shirt cut too close to my body, with virtually no room to manoeuvre, which signifies bad measurement, and taste, for recommending a 'ultra slim cut' for someone with a pretty noticeable belly. The cuff is also a problem because I have explicitly instructed them to leave some room on my left hand side so I can accommodate my bigger watches I used to wear, and I was left with a cuff that can hardly let me wear my dress watch. Third the embroidery of my initials were poorly done, and the lettering are of very bad taste. I instructed them to make adjustments, and when I receive the final products, no attempts were made to rectify the problems. The house still attempted to persuade me to make a full suit, but after the two poorly made shirts making me a very frustrated customer, I would not recommend anyone placing order with those sales with poor fashion sense. My order is not in a hurry at all, they have ample time to make them properly but still I received such low quality products, could not imagine what would end up for those ordered a suit made in 24 hours.

Bought a suit here for 7000HKD, quite expensive. Main problem here is they have NO price list and you are quoted a price out of the blue depending on where you are from etc. They make suits for 2000HKD as well, so 5000HKD cannot justify the extra fabric cost (for 2-3m of fabric) of the nicer fabric I choose compared to their cheapest option. Suit looks allright, but will not know for sure until the first dry cleaning.

They were able to pitch the level of detail to my experience and knowledge and guide me through the process towards a result I'm really happy with. Apsley made me a range of shirts from smart to casual and two jackets, including one with a Chinese collar, and I'm really happy with it all. First Rate Tailor - Better than Sam's I recently had a sport coat, three shirts, and a pair of pants made at Apsley Tailor. After this experience, I highly recommend Apsley Tailors to anyone based on the quality and cost of their garments, and their amazing customer service. I spent 6 hours in Hong Kong on my way to and from my destination. During that time, I had planned to have some clothes maid at Sam’s Tailor since I had been a customer previously. I visited Sam’s to view their selection of fabric and get some quotes. Before moving ahead with another Sam’s order, I went a couple of doors down to Apsley’s shop and am very pleased that I did. Apsley Tailors has a better selection of quality fabric, a higher level of craftsmanship, prices that are lower than Sam’s, and much better customer service. They took my measurements and had everything ready for when I returned to HK a few weeks later. Upon return, the jacket and shirts fit perfectly without having even being fitted! The pants also fit nicely but I asked them to make a minor change and inquired about how much it cost to have the item shipped after the change (I didn’t have an hour to wait for the change due to my flight out). To my surprise and delight, Khan at Apsley told me that the change would not be a problem and that he would cover the price for shipping. I received an email with the shipping information a day later and the pants arrived 3 days following. Apsley Tailors is a high-quality establishment and Khan is a highly reliable person. If you are in Hong Kong in the market for superior clothing, don’t look and farther than Apsley. They have my highest recommendation.

I come to Hong Kong every year, I have used a few other Tailors in Hong Kong and I can tell you without a doubt Apsley is THE BEST. Ask for my friend Sharry, he is honest and helpful. My first trip I bought two suits and a tuxedo. I was married in the tuxedo, it is charcoal with a black satin lapel. Literally I brought sharry a picture of the tux I wanted, straight off the red carpet and he made it for me. The fit is perfect and after two fittings, it was perfect in just four days. My most recent trip I purchased a blazer, the material was very difficult to find ( I have strange taste) Sharry and his team searched and searched through the finest Italian, British and French materials till they finally found my material. I am over joyed with my purchases and the experiences I have had. Honestly it could not be better, Price is superb(cheaper than renting a tux) service is perfect, and the tailoring is solid. - update: two years now in the two original suits, wearing evenly and slowly, with no rogue threads or weave issues, buttons still intact. SOLID SUITS!!!

By far the worst bespoke tailor with whom I have ever had a relationship and ordered suits and overcoats. I have never left anyone a 1 star review, but these guys deserve it - I was warned by other tailors (after being measured at Punjab/Apsley and making an order) and I wish I had listened and canceled. They pray on folks who aren't use to quality tailoring. I have used 8 various bespoke tailors, including 4 in Hong Kong. These guys are slick salesmen who lie about the products, the detailing that will be done, and quality. I paid more than I did for equivalent bespoke clothing at other tailors based on their false promises. Despite my requests, they refused to do a fitting before I left Hong Kong and assured me that their process of taking photos and using their own in house factory was far superior than the other tailors in Hong Kong. This is false. I ended up with a suit that was incredibly ill fitting and an overcoat that was not the design that I had chosen. Customer service asked that I drive several hours to Atlanta to meet their tailor so he could take the clothing back to Hong Kong for alterations - absurd! Customer service was useless and began ignoring me when I request a credit so that I could allow a US tailor to alter the suit so that it fit me and a credit for the difference in the level of overcoat delivered and that which I ordered. Go to Sam's, Milano, or any number of other tailors (including the random street ones) all of which delivered superior bespoke clothing for a lower price.

I have purchased tailored clothing from Apsley when I visited Hong Kong in 2015. I was impressed with the service and the dedication to tailoring the suit expertly: 3 fittings over 2 days unlike other tailors with a 24 hour suits who are frequented by "celebrities" with only 1 fitting and a beer when you are deciding on your clothing. Apsley are the consummate professionals and I decided on them because they are used to tailoring for rugby players. I exercise with weights so have trouble with shirts not fitting my arms nor my shoulders with "off the rack" shirts and jackets without voluminous material around my waist. Since then I have purchased 44 shirts, 3 suits and 5 jackets. Apsley has not disappointed with the stylish sports jackets and suits attracting favourable comment. They give me confidence when I present at international conferences and are my professional wardrobe. I do especially like the French cuffs since I like to wear idiosyncratic cufflinks. Delivery is reliable and the selection of materials is excellent quality. I'll be getting more in future when they travel to Melbourne.

Cannot recommend these guys. I went to Hong Kong with the intent to buy a Bespoke few suites. I did some research and settled on Sam's. Unfortunately I didn't research their hours because I went on a Sunday, Sam's was closed and these scheisters lured me in. I had 10 days so I knew I'd have time to let them make a few bespoke shirts to test the waters before I fully committed a lot of money. Glad I did. The 2 shirts I got were made of very cheap fabric. Could be my fault because I picked it, but it's very difficult to tell what is what on a 4 inch sample. Additionally, in my view they shouldn't even have something that poor of quality in the shop. After asking for a few adjustments in the first fitting, my final product was just about like the first fitting! No changes! Of course they they tried to tell me they did everything I asked for, but I'm not that naiive. I went back online, did more research and found someone great! In the end I got 2 shirts for $120 USD that are of poor quality material and fit just OK.

I really tried giving this place the benefit of the doubt. I read all the good reviews thinking it would not cheat people 6800 HKD (870 USD )for a 3 piece basic black suit(shirt, pants and blazer) the price was not even for a TUX!!! Shirt material feels nothing cheaper than a stock shirt from Zara, not even any special material at all, feels rough on skin. Cutting is okay as with most tailors. Noting stood out at all. After final fitting it really is a joke I paid this amount for this that I could’ve gotten anywhere else for a quarter of the price. But it’s my fault for taking the leap of faith. I really thought maybe these tailors that’s been around for so long wouldn’t rip people off as those days are long gone. When given the quote , I’d imagine it be worth it. If you guys are reading this, I really hope you won’t do the same for future customers. This price is a joke. And expecting people to not say anything about it ??

I had two suits made last August. I was highly satisfied with the final product. This past April, Apsley was in NYC and I decided to have two pairs of additional pants made. The new slacks were less than satisfactory. They did not fit me at all. I'm extremely, extremely upset that my new custom pants were made with the wrong measurements. While mistakes are not uncommon, Apsley were in possession of one of my original, perfectly fitting pants when producing the new pairs. There is honestly no excuse for the discrepancy. The new pants should have been made with the exact same measurements as the old pants. I purposely provided Apsley with my business because of the top notch custom clothing that they are reputed to provide. I could have saved a lot of money by purchasing slacks off the rack. In addition to producing pants that were too big, the pants had a horrible odor that the dry cleaner was not able to get rid of. It is unacceptable that I was forced to bring my slacks to another tailor after they were shipped to New York. Apsley first offered a free shirt and then suggested that they would refund the cost of the tailor. It's now been almost two months and I have yet to receive a reimbursement. I have friends traveling to Hong Kong this summer and Apsley will not be receiving a recommendation. Stay away from Apsley if they are in NYC.

Checked out a few tailors on my recent visit to HK and glad I stuck with Apsley. Alex was really helpful in choosing suitable fabrics from a wide range of colors and patterns as well as matching shirts and ties and within less than a week and several fittings to make sure everything is perfect i had my suit! Reasonable price for the service and quality, very helpful personnel and easy to reach shop (search for Apsley Tailors and not for Punjab house to find the right place and just walk past all the dubious guys along the road trying to lure you into their stores). Hint: If you feel like you don't have enough time to wait for the suit, you can also do the final fitting and have the suit shipped to you! Took just about a week to Europe! Thanks for that, I'll return!

recommended by one of my close friends. have been going to Apsley for three years for suits and shirts. they are not selling the lowest price suits in town but the quality is really good. they provide a lot of choices of fabrics and they could always give the best advice. there was one time there's problem with my trousers. i brought it back and they offered me a new one which i think their after services are good. I have recommended my friends, cousins and colleagues to go to Apsley for their suits and shirts for work instead of going to high street ready-to-buy suits. So far, they like products from there.

I came to Hong Kong with the goal of getting some suits made relatively quickly as I start my job in Finance in a few weeks. I had an appointment booked with Raja Tailors, but some of the reviews had me worried. I found Apsley online and decided to stop by before my meeting Raja. Alex meet me and addressed all of my needs. He diligently showed me all of the different suit, shirt and liner color options with some excellent suggestions. In doing my due diligence I still went to the appointment at Raja. Don't get me wrong Raja has a nice set up, but the personal touch wasn't there for me. As Alex carefully took me through the options, Raja just gave me the books and said pick away. This was quite overwhelming. Long story short I purchased my three suits and six shirts from Apsley for a great value. After one fitting and 36 hours later everything was ready and fitting great. It looks like Apsley has definitely gained a customer for life. Thank you again Alex and team!

I can't tell you how much I like my custom clothes from Apsley, I was in Hong Kong in 12/18 and visited on a recommendation and purchased 7 shirts for myself and my daughters, and a sport jacket. When I tell you how great they fit, for the 1st time in many years my shirts fit perfect and they were made on time an top quality. I then bought more shirts in NYC when they were there and they were same quality and fit but because of a miscommunication the collars were not exactly what I wanted. Brought them to them the next time they were in NYC and they fixed them no problem. If you want custom clothes with great service this is the place! UPDATE November, December 2021 When to see Khan on his trip to New York,Ordered a Sports Jacket, Shirts and was measured for pants(which I hadn't ordered before) They came and they fit perfectly and the the tailoring was top notched. I found Apsley Tailors through the good reviews on Google and TripAdvisor and have out them to the test. I happened to be Hong Kong for only 6 days scattered over a period of two weeks. When I first came in the shop I was greeted by Sharry and he took me through the process of ordering my first bespoke tuxedo. After the measurements in the morning, I was able to have my first fitting in the afternoon already. Perfectly accommodating my schedule. The first fitting went well, with really helpful guidance of Sharry and the tailor. Upon my return to Hong Kong, I tried on my finished tuxedo and it fits like a glove. Well pleased with the quick turn around time and more important the right fit and quality of the tuxedo. One other thing with mentioned is that they did not try to up sale me in buying multiple shirts etc but even recommendated me to just order the bare minimum to establish a good foundation before moving into more transactions. I've been to many Tailors in Hong Kong in the past years and with Aspley I truly feel that you will be in safe hands. After all we pay for it.

I was only in Hong Kong for a few days and Andrew gave amazing service. He was friendly, gave me a tour and introduced me to his tailor (and son) who have worked with him for a very long time. The suit is absolutely first class and fits really well. I upgraded to a better fabric which was worth every penny. I will certainly be back and would recommend them. You may get a suit elsewhere for less, but it will not match the quality of Apsley. Really easy to get to on the MTR from our hotel. Thanks again!

Apsley Bespoke Tailors provided superior service and quality suits during my trip to Hong Kong. Their expert team of tailors and salesmen showed fabrics and cuts exactly to what I was looking for and within the budget requested. I highly recommend leaving time for at least two fittings your first time working with them but once your measurements are in the system it's just a matter of making the suits which is very fast and perfectly done. Another perk is that their tailors travel to many major cities across the globe multiple times a year. I'll definitely be ordering again!

Personally, approaching the suit market in Hong Kong was new to me. I was worried someone would talk me into purchasing cheap material or I would over pay. This was one of the few tailors I found very friendly and they offered first class service throughout the process. I hope to be a long term client as I saw many recurring customers for different parts of the world stop in. Along the walls you can see some high profile clients they have worked with. Some that stood out to me were formula one driver Lewis Hamilton, Michael Jordan, and several professional futbol teams. I worked with Sharey and he helped me select two beautiful colors in navy blue & gray. I selected several tailored shirts as well. Like other reviews have mentioned, they are able to pitch the level of detail to your experience and knowledge and guide you through the process towards a result. Every summer my university sends students to Shanghai and Hong Kong for finance and marketing internships and I will definitely share my experience with my university and have them recommend Apsley as a trusted and excellent service in the large suit market of Hong Kong.

It had been about seven years since I had last visited Apsley/Punjab Tailors, and within minutes they had my customer account information available, including samples of the material used in my prior suit/shirt purchases. Their quality is the worst with the price they charged. First of all, I paid HKD6900 for the fabric they said super 110. After a year, I visited two other tailors, for another fitting, and they both assured me the fabric is not 110. Secondly, after three months of normal wear and tear, linings on the edge of the pocket started to break. Thirdly, the quality of the fabric does not last. After half a year, there are visible deterioration of it. I have had much better experience with the tailor making services elsewhere.
