I wanted to love this place, as I like supporting small, family-run businesses, but unfortunately I did not have the best experience. When I went to pick-up my garment (a costume for a show) the seamstress was still finishing the alteration. As such, I did not have time to closely inspect the dress before leaving. When I got home, I found a pin still attached to the garment, a snag in the fabric (that was not there before, this was a brand new costume) and most importantly, a ~6" unfinished section where the beading had not been reattached (see photos). When I called, the owner said that I must have damaged the dress myself (perhaps magically while carrying it home in a bag??) and she would never leave a garment unfinished. When I went back to the shop, she still would not accept responsibility despite the fact that the missing pailettes (circular embellishments) were found sitting on her workbench. In the end, she did offer to finish the work the next day, because she "felt badly" (the only reason I am giving this review two stars), but I needed the dress for a rehearsal that night. In the end, I took the pailettes and fixed the dress myself. The gold beads I had to replace myself because the seamstress lost them. I was never offered a refund for the incomplete work, nor offered payment for the beads or a discount for future work. There are so many alteration shops in Vancouver, I would not waste time on this one. Better to go somewhere that treats your garments with care and that accepts responsibility when mistakes are made.

My first experience wasn't very impressive. I was told that my jeans would be hemmed in 2 days but when I went back to pick them up, the person working there could not find my jeans. After 10 minutes of looking, I noticed the bag I brought the jeans in was on the floor in a corner of the store. I picked up the bag & noticed that my jeans were still in there & were not hemmed as promised. The person working there looked very embarrassed and told me to come back in an hour so she could hem my jeans before they closed. I returned an hour later and the hemming on my jeans looked rushed & sloppy.

PLEASE READ PREVIOUS REVIEWS AS THEY ARE NOT REAL BASED ON THE FAKE NAMES. The owners are very nice but DO NOT get any alterations done at this place. I was really excited to find a place nearby home with great reviews to get my jeans hemmed but the results were absolutely horrible. They used cheap thread that the thread is already coming loose after one wash and the sew is not even straight. I did mention before leaving that the colour was not accurate or was it any where similar to the original thread. They did not seem like they really would do anything after. Overall, lesson learned. Don't take their kindness as good work. Nice people but they sadly do a horrible job. Pay a couple more bucks and go elsewhere. Save your clothes!

I love coming here to have my alterations done! They do a wonderful job! Last week she was able to transform a blouse I had bought from Zara with big puff sleeves into a beautiful tank top that I will be wearing all summer! She even gave me adjustable straps. They are always willing to get my clothes done quick when I come in on a Wednesday and say I need to wear it Friday .... or in some cases the same day! 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a Tailor in the Kits area :)

1 star is too much. Absolutely ruined a $200 jacket, and didn't take responsibility for it, and proceeded to argue about refunding me the alteration charge let alone the price of the jacket. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I take all my alterations to Satin Stitch. They do an excellent job on all the items i take in, such as skirts, dresses, pants and even waterproof pants that had detail on the ankle section. They are super friendly and always have the alterations ready when they say they will. I would definitely recommend.

HORRIBLE! Poor quality thread, very messy store. Was so disappointed in a jean hem my girlfriend got done by them. I took it upon myself (an amateur) to attempt to re sew it as the thread was completely falling apart. After taking it apart I realized even their fold in the jean hem was not straight. Absolutely nothing was done right. DISAPPOINTED. COME HERE IF YOU WANT A PERFECTLY BRAND NEW PAIR OF JEANS RUINED.

Awfully unskilled, stitches were not aligned and new stitches were crossing over the old stitches scar. Stitches beside elastics on waist was unbalanced. One side was gathered, the other side was not gathered. It was not done evenly.

Mitra and Mahdi are super people that do excellent work at a fair price... The RIGHT price! The are always friendly and helpful with experienced suggestions. I have used them many times for repairs and alterations.

I tore my patterned knit sweater and couldn't fix it on my own. Saw the negative reviews but decided to try this place anyways. Happy to report my sweater is fixed better than I thought it could be and for a really solid price. Really happy! So it sounds like this place is a bit of a hit or miss, perhaps best to go with smaller projects.

Needed a jacket stitched up asap. I bought it new as a birthday gift and noticed a small tear in the back shoulder/arm. I took it in and she fixed it very quickly , free of charge, and did excellent work. I’ve returned, and recruited others and everyone is happy❣️????

Lovely owners, very easy to work with and reasonably priced. I had two bridesmaid dresses done (one of which needed extensive alterations) and both came out beautifully. She was very fast and let me try the dress on again halfway through alterations to accommodate new shoes I bought for the dress.

Brought in a bridesmaids dress that was too big and frumpy on me. She advised me of what alterations she recommends, then did a fantastic job, it fits perfectly now. She was right on schedule, and the price was quite reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Dropped off two pieces on July 24, asked if they could be done by the 28th. Was told not possible till August 4, which I agreed to. Came in on the 4th, and the work was not done. Then the owner argued with me and told me we’d arranged for a later date. She insisted I was wrong and claimed I dropped the pieces off a week later than I had. (The drop-off date was even marked in my calendar.) She was rude and argumentative, and didn’t even check her records. Don’t come here if you want reliable or courteous service.
