Asked for a patch in a certain spot and the guy argued it and put it in the wrong spot. Sent back and than they put the patch off centered and when I asked about it, the lady just said no its fine and walked away. This place is awful!

PROs: Potentially the location (I honestly have nothing else). CONs: not interest in helping people; I took a dress to be altered & was told to come back when tailor is in, filthy change rooms, and quite possibly the most apathetic customer service rep I’ve ever had. I’m taking my stuff elsewhere and if I were you, I’d consider going straight to an alternative and bypassing the headache that is Altered Image.

I had at least 10 pairs of pants hemmed and tailored. The quality of work is great and I have never had any issues with timing.

Paid $35 in total to have two pairs of trousers hemmed. One of the trousers was straight-cut, but the man measuring the length for me insisted that it needed to be "taken in" at the hem as well. I declined. He asked for the full payment upfront, and when I asked if I can pay when I pick up the pants in case I am not happy with the work, he was extremely rude and told me that "we are professionals here" and "you will definitely be happy with the results". He then added that "the length we agreed on is what you'll get, we won't make any changes if you aren't happy with the length". When the pants were done 4 days later (you have to pay extra for same day pickup), the work was extremely shoddy and unprofessional. The hem was not even folded in evenly and all the seams were still loose. I went home and secured the seams by hand myself. I knew for sure that had I put the trousers in the wash as is, the hem would have come undone after the first wash. I just don't understand how a "professional" tailor can't even hem a pair of pants properly. The "customer is never right" attitude of the man working at the front doesn't help either.

Left a bridesmaid's dress to get a few minor alterations done. Came back 2 weeks later to pick it up and the had shortened the straps so much that it was cutting painfully into my armpit and the dress wouldn't do up proper because it was so high up. (End of zipper supposed to sit low/center of my back now between my shoulder blades) The guy who works there argued with me and said that he didn't mess up but that's how the dress was really supposed to be and then said "you've just gained a lot of weight". (I hadn't I had actually lost weight in those 2 weeks) Meanwhile he's in a dress shirt that the buttons are holding on for dear life. I've never been so embarrassed and felt so put down before. Ended up just leaving and was forced to pay or they wouldn't give me my dress back. When I got home I let out the straps myself and I guess I must be magic because the dress ended up fitting fine when the straps weren't inches too short.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The guy who works there (Jamshed I believe) pushes unnecessary work on you without even asking if you want it. He tried to get me to pay $60 for alterations on two pairs of pants that cost $30 each, claiming they would make them “$180 pair of pants”. They offer a 10% “student discount” which really just means you have to wait way longer for your order. When I went to pick up two pairs of pants being altered, the guy didn’t have my name or phone number entered correctly in the system... brought me into the back to sift through piles of clothes to look for my pants and then told me to go home and get my receipt. I went home and found the receipt (which he never said you needed for pickup - they take your name and number) and he completely misspelled my name and phone number even after spelling it out for him. I get back an hour or so later and he found my order and then refused to give any sort of discount claiming it was my fault. He said he could give me 10% off next time I come but there will definitely be no next time. Horrible customer service and a horribly run business.

Best place for any alteration and dry cleaning service. I would highly suggest to visit this place.

This place amazing place for tailoring and make you look great the man works great

I brought a dress in to get hemmed that had 1 sheer layer that needed to be shortened by about an inch. They clearly saw that I was a student and likely didn't know the cost of these things and charged me $80. When I went to pick up the dress they did not allow me to try it on in store to ensure it had been done to my satisfaction. They did not care if the work had been done right.

Paid about $20 per shirt for hemming on the bottom only. The turnaround time for my three shirts was one week. I collected my shirts, and then found they had done a poor job of the hemming, especially for the amount that I paid! There are 4-6 places on each shirt that have 4-6 inches of thread trailing off of them. The long hanging threads got caught on my nails and started to unravel the hemming. Not only did they leave large pieces of thread hanging off my shirt, they didn't even finish the stitching with any sort of knot, which allowed the unraveling to happen. The stitching and thread that they used don't allow the fabric to stretch, so I'm lucky that widthwise they aren't tight on me. Or else, I would have to struggle to get them on. On the inside, the hemming isn't professional-looking at all. There are bits of the hem that are folded over instead of one flat seam. All the inner thread colours are black regardless of the colour of the shirt. When I brought the shirts in, the thread matched the fabric on both sides. At least this can't be seen from the outside, but definitely not worth the $20 that I paid. Overall, the hems look straight from someone else's point of view, so it meets that bare minimum, but the work is not professional and you get charged way too much.

Very easy and friendly service. They did a great job altering my dress in a timely manner!

It costs $90 to get a skirt and a pair of leggings hemmed! $90! That’s more than the items of clothing cost and it took a week to hem. They weren't even well done - still too long, even though they pinned the articles of clothing at the length that I wanted. And I'm not impressed with the service - Both times I had to stand at the desk for about 15 minutes while they walked by or stared at me from the back. No one even greeted me or told me someone would be with me shortly. They just ignored me.

Very good place for tailoring great service people

Zoe Scheuring

Awful service. The people there have no respect and should not be trusted around you or your clothing.

Would not recommend. Shortened my suit sleeves too much, then told me to pay to add length to it again. Didn't even fix it properly, my sleeves are on an angle now, longer on side and shorter on the other. It looks ridiculous and now I have to get it fixed elsewhere.

Matt Polkiewicz

Had pants hemmed here and the hems fell out after wearing them twice. The guy also tried to upsell me into getting the entire suit altered and was really pushy.

RBM Binnendyk

I would never go back here. I had my pants hemmed in Sept and the hem fell out a few weeks later. I took them back and then re-hemmed them. A few weeks later, the hem fell out for a second time. This is frustrating because each time the hem fell out I was at work. Then, when I asked for a refund they told me that it's "normal" for the hem to fall out. My mom lives far away, but she's a seamstress and this is not true. None of the pants she hemmed for me fell apart. They wouldn't even refund me since they said this happens frequently. Their sign should say, "Pants Hemmed While You Wait, But Will Only Last One Month." I'd rather pay more $$ and have the job done right and deal with reasonable people than every go here again. This was a waste of time!

The employee provided excellent customer service and provided a quote very quickly. Even though the completion time was a week, they were able to finish the altercation in half the time. I enjoyed the interaction with the employee and I plan on coming back for more services.

Tried to Ruin my Job Interview on Purpose... I am a really mellow guy but man was this place frustrating. The blunt lies and rude customer service were ridiculous. I arrived on Friday with 1.5 hr till closing to get my pants hemmed (they advertise on the spot hemming). They flat out refused, saying everyone in the back was busy and come again it won't be a problem. Being an understanding person I decided to come back Sunday, letting her know my interview was on Monday and I needed to get the pants hemmed. She told me to come before 5 when the place closed and I assumed everything will be ok. Fast forward to Sunday and I arrive an hour into opening. The old woman at the counter immediately shunned me, saying "the tailor is not in I told you to come at 3." Not sure why she picked 3 pm that was never mentioned. Respectfully I reminded her she told me to come before 5 pm, never any mention of 3 pm. She tried to make it sound like it was my fault. She claimed the tailor drives in from Toronto and she thinks they will only be here for 2 hours. Questioning further I asked her why would someone have an hour commute for a two hour shift? How does that make any sense, especially when your sign advertises Hem while you wait not Hem while you wait only within a 2 hr window each day. Caught in her lies she proceeded to change her story immediately after saying that she doesn't know when the tailor comes in she never knows when it just happens randomly. I am very displeased with this company it needs new management and new front staff that doesn't automatically treat everyone like trash. The disrespect, attitude and lies to try to screw over my Interview is pretty disgusting to see and I hope it doesn't happen to other students.

3 of 4 pants ruined. The customer service is horrendous. When I asked for the tapering to be corrected I was told it was the pants fault. Very aggressive and argumentative. Too expensive and the quality is terrible will not be ever going back

Edda Schmid

Easy interaction and friendly customer service with Jimmy. Made sure the clothing flattered my body. Convenient location.

Had 3 pants hemmed in the last year. Fast turnaround and the hems haven't fallen out or come undone. It's a little more expensive than others I've used but I like the work.

A little pushy, a lot expensive, but the owner dude did stay extra late after the mall closed to get my suit done, and did a better than okay job.

Julie Immink

My son bought a suit at the mall for his upcoming prom. The store gave us a coupon to get the pants hemmed at Altered Image and told us they would hem the pants while we finished shopping. The man told us he wouldn't be able to hem the pants that day but they would be ready in a few days. Being we were out of town we decided that it would be fine to come back later in the week. While he was pinning the pants he proceeded to recommend to us to fix the jacket sleeve etc etc. to make the suit look more tailored. We agreed. We went back on Thursday when it was promised to be finished. When we got there he had taken the sleeves apart and the pants but it was not complete. My sons prom was the very next day!!!! The lady tried to tell us to come back the next day maybe it would be done.... We didn't take any chances we had to demand for our money back and we were lucky enough to find someone to do a temporary fix to get him to the prom the next day! BEWARE of this place!!!!

Ryan Cohen

Used the service out of convenience as I had just purchased a suit in the mall. The tailor proposed a lot of alterations and I ended up only accepting the ones I agreed with (having worked with a number of tailors I felt he was up selling). About a month after receiving the suit back I realized he had not taken in the waistline on the pants despite having charged me for it. I could still see the chalk lines he had marked on the waist during the fitting. 6 months later the hemming on the pants came loose and I had only worn the suit twice since picking it up from the tailor. Abysmal quality and pushy sales approach overall. Convenient location cannot offset the failings of this business.
