I've brought clothes here for alterations for a long time. The staff (and particularly Penny) are very warm & friendly, the service is prompt & very reasonably priced and the quality of work is absolutely excellent. Worth every penny. You'd be crazy to go anywhere else in the neighbourhood.

I had my father's seersucker suit tailored to fit me for my sister's wedding. He's no longer with us, so it's a special garment to say the least! What a wonderful experience from start to finish. The suit went from being baggy to fitting me like a glove. The ladies in the shop are extremely pleasant and knowledgable. This is a great place to get anything tailored. Penny is wonderful and she/her staff very talented and deliver excellent quality of work. I've had all sorts of things fixed up here - coats, suits, trousers, and not just simple tailoring, even more fundamental rebuilds. Be prepared for an overdose of British-themed decor...

Great service in general, but prices seem a bit absurd... I went in for a hem & taper, expecting around $30 (give or take). The lady at cash didn't give me price up front and I forgot to ask, but it's a pretty standard job I thought, so it'll probably end up fine. Lo and behold, I get them back for $48! Needless to say, not your place if you just need simple alterations.

The staff made me feel at home the moment I walked in the door, and Penny herself was an absolute treat. I'd had a bit of an oddball job that needed doing; I'll admit, parts of it I was not convinced could be done, given the garment's design. When I mentioned it, however, Penny smiled, and said, "you just leave that to me." She accepted the work without a second thought, despite the fact that it wasn't your usual suit jacket or dress. When I picked it up, it was as good as gold and better. Perfect fit, and precisely what I wanted. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs quality work done.

Caught them in a really bad mood as they lost another customer's dress. As a result they were horribly rude to me. I was shocked at how unprofessional they were. They're certainly not interested in taking new business.

I went to Stychin Tyme to have a bridesmaid dress hemmed because I read all the wonderful reviews about it online. I was extremely disappointed with the results. I ended up paying $65 (which in my opinion is too much for even a good hem) for the worst hem job I've ever seen. I'm not much accustomed to the sewing world so when I picked it up I thought the funny look of the hem was just a unique stitch that was used. When I got it home and took a better look it was apparent that I had just overpaid for someone to merely trim the bottom of my dress - no sewing had actually been done! It was too late at that point to do anything, my dress had been with Stychin Tyme for over a month, the wedding was a week later, and the store was closed the entire next week for vacation. So I wore what I had and by the end of the night the frayed bottom was getting caught on the buckles on my sandals and unraveling more and more. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because Penny is a genuinely kind person and seems to do her best to run a good business, but my personal experience ended in an overpriced and awful result. Can't say I'd ever go back there.
