I passed by Rochefort Tailors in the St James Trust Building and was immediately intrigued by the shopfront of their old-school bespoke tailoring workshop. I wandered in to have a chat with them with a view of potentially having a three-piece suit bespoke tailored for my wedding. Shortly after meeting Shane and Jack I knew I had stumbled into the right place at the right time and met the guys who I felt confident I could trust with making a suit for the most important day of my life. From our first consult, their attention to detail and professionalism was impeccable. Their knowledge and experience of tailoring is nothing I have ever experienced before. The result was a three-piece suit, shirt, tie and braces which all fits and looks like no other suit I have ever owned. It fits like a glove and suits my body style. Their knowledge of cuts, fabrics, material and fittings is second to none. We even had a consultation to ensure the suit and tie matched the colour of my bride-to-be’s dress. They noticed a couple of issues with her dress which they fixed on the spot, without notice, no fuss…no problem. Their service, quality and of course the final product are amazing. Nothing was ever a problem for Shane and Jack they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I can’t recommend them highly enough. My next suit will definitely be another Rochefort suit.

Perhaps it’s our similar sense of humor or nostalgic tugs of the heart strings for menswear of the past. However, dealing with Shane is always comfortable, I always give him enough time for nothing to be rushed and what ensues is some of the best craftsmanship, attention to detail one can get as a customer in Sydney. Most importantly he’s honest and fair, and that’s how I like to conduct business.

Yes, Shane does an amazing job, the quality of workmanship is second-to-none and the service impeccable but it is the whole experience that will leave you speechless. You see from the very start Shane makes you feel like the most important person in the world, he genuinely loves his work and his clients and it shows from the moment you book in for an appointment. He rates are incredibly reasonable (in fact you will be pleasantly surprised). Do yourself a favour...book an appointment either to have an existing suit properly fitted or start one from scratch.......either way I promise you that people will stop you and say, you look fantastic. I couldn't recommend Shane more highly.

I went to Rochefort because I was looking for something special for my wedding. I got a 3 piece suit, shirt and tie. I have never invested in a bespoke suit before so was pretty excited about it. I wasn’t disappointed. The whole experience of getting a bespoke suit is completely different than just buying one off the shelf. You can see the amount of work that goes into each suit. Shane and his team are craftsman of the highest order. Perfectionists in fact. It really struck me how rare it is in today’s world of the mass produced. Come the wedding day I felt a million dollars. If you’re wanting to spend less than $4,000 for a good quality bespoke style suit there’s probably no better place to go in Australia than Rochefort. They’re tucked away in a stylish shop in the Bambini Trust building which runs between Elizabeth and Castlereagh Streets. Wooden panelling, Fox Umbrellas and Chesterfield armchairs make Rochefort feel very Savile Row. I have commissioned many items from Shane and team over the past couple of years. They offer great value in terms of the product they offer and if you’re after a suit or a blazer that fits well and is cut from cloth from the worlds best mills I recommend them. If you’re considering a MTM suit from one of the standard MTM companies, don’t - go to Shane and Roachefort as I believe they’ll deliver a superior product and fit delivered with a bespoke style process. I know people who have commissioned items from P Johnson, Insititchu and other M2M companies who have been far happier with the result from Roachefort.

Bespoke suiting was a new concept to me, and something I knew very little about before meeting Shane. I walked into a few stores, before stumbling into Rochefort, slightly disillusioned with the whole idea. From the first moment I sat down with Shane, my perspective began to change. I never saw myself getting intrigued by the concept of fabrics and buttons, but I found myself hooked. What I never realised is that, as cliche as it is, clothes do make the man. A good suit will make you feel confident, calm, and help you in a job interview. A Rochefort suit will do all this and more. It will speak to your sense of style, your personality, it becomes part of who you are, and that's a great thing. I cannot recommend Rochefort Bespoke highly enough. If it's something you have been considering, or if you're not quite there, all I suggest is that you just go for it. I've been a client of Rochefort over a number of years, after some bitter sweet experiences (many delays) I had promised not to come back. However I decided to give Shane and Co a last chance. Three weeks ago I ordered 4 shirts and they committed to deliver within 3 weeks. I am happy to say that the shirts took 2.5 weeks to arrive and everything went very smooth. Truly excellent quality, service. What Rochefort has produced for me over the years has always been outstanding. The Boutique's emphasis is on quality of fabric, fit and, what I like about it - something old school that has something hidden somewhere that's just a little bit jazzy. From the prospect of a colourful lining (my first is in the photo board that has been posted and was an electric paisley silk, designed in-house; it was loved to death), or a slightly different pocket arrangement, the suits are first class. I've bought sportscoats, dinner suits and (most recently) full academic dress for university in England. And I can tell you, thanks to Shane, I've looked on every occasion as well dressed (if not better) than the chaps who've been tailored by Royal Warrant holders on Savile Row. The Rochefort service with shirts and ties wins the same accolades; viz their ties, I really like the fact that the Rochefort silks are unique to the Boutique. I must have bought 50 shirts over the years - and there will be many more; the range of fabrics is outstanding. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years now - and, as I say (and having tried a few others, both in Sydney and in London), I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I can't recommend Shane highly enough. I just had three bespoke outfits tailored for my upcoming wedding - a tuxedo, a formal Jodhpur suit, and finally a more casual Nehru collar vest, each with shirts and other accessories. I really valued Shane's fine taste and genuine interest in designing the outfits. I went with full canvas and rolled lapels on all of the jackets with a classic British cut, adding a bit of pop with the linings and a tuxedo waistcoat with peak lapels. In total I had 5 or so consultation and fitting sessions. The clothes fit perfectly across the waist, chest, back etc. Shane has a wide range of fabrics from the best mills, such as Dormeuil, Holland and Sherry, Carnet, Drago, Loro Piana, and Dugdale Bros. Moreover, everything is tailored here in Sydney, from the suits to the ties and shirts.
