The staff was horribly rude the lady told me to talk off my shoes I was the only one that was asked to do this. Not only that but after picking out multiple dresses and trying on a few she told me I couldn’t try on the dresses because they were “ prom dresses” and “ too old for you” does it matter? Yes it’s for my grade 8 grad but the dress is doubling for a very formal wedding. She told us not to waste her time with trying on different dresses she yelled at my aunt after my aunt complained to other staff member telling her it was “ her loss” when the lady was the only one being unreasonable.

First of all, I'm not one to just go put bad reviews online about stores, however I am appalled by how we were treated here! This was a horrible experience for myself as a bride, as well as my mother! I would NEVER recommend this store to another living soul! I didn't even want to give them 1 measly star! They were rude and unhelpful. I was being stared down for even putting my hands on the dresses to look through them. We were barked at to put our shoes at the front door before walking through. When my mother was trying on dresses, I was assisting her with the zipper when one of the owners asked if we needed help, I kindly replied "No thank you, we have it covered", she replied "We know how to do it up" as she barged in to the dressing room, with my mom half dressed and people standing outside the dressing room. I had to tell her to leave and asked if she treated all her customers like this? She replied "What? Be helpful?" I cannot believe this lady! It makes me cringe when I think of the fact we spent money in this establishment, but my mother actually ended up buying a bustier here, and it turns out they had lied to her about what size she needed. She was completely oblivious to the fact that it wasn't fitting properly until she went to her seamstress, who told her they had totally given her the wrong size and explained to her why it wasn't fitting properly. (The boning kept flipping up at the bottom) The store had told her this was totally normal, and easily fixable. Needless to say, she won't get a refund for the item which she paid well over $100 for! This matter aside, the way we were treated at this store was barbaric! My advice to everyone is STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHOP AS POSSIBLE!!! They don't even have a Facebook page anymore, Probably because it was riddled with bad reviews. Which they deserve!! If you would like to have a wonderful bridal experience, I recommend you go to any bridal shop other than this one! Enjoy your wedding ladies!! :)

A friend of mine went here last week and found a dress she loved but was deciding between 2 colours. She asked if the sales woman could wait to put in the order so she could take a couple days and think about which one she wanted. She was told she had 2 days until the next order was going out. In that 2 days she found a dress somewhere else that she liked even more and called to cancel the order completely. What she was told is that she would not be getting her $170 deposit back because it was too late - even thought the order was not sent and she never confirmed which dress she wanted! She was told she had a store credit and would have to find something else to spend that money on. This place is a rip off and everyone should be warned before shopping here!!!

Had a nice selection of dresses. I was in with a bridal party. Being a bridesmaid in my friends wedding so we tried some on. Too bad the dress the lady showed us had been discontinued and she didn't know that otherwise she wouldn't have showed the bride. Found out it had been discontinued from another bridal shop.

The ladies at Aliya Bridal Fashions were amazing to work with. They only had 15 minutes left until they were going to close up shop and they gave us their full attention to find a dress for me. Thank you Aliya Bridal! 10/10 do recommend ????

Bridesmaid Dress ordered way too small and they wanted $300 to alter. The dress didn’t even cost that. Rude staff lady there. Weddings can be stressful enough without extra bs added on to it. Please consider finding your dresses somewhere else. Even if you have to drive farther it would be worth it.

Went in to find a dress for my son's wedding. Older woman was VERY rude. Told me they do the have dresses to fit me (size18) and that their dresses were strapless and would be inappropriate to show my arms as I am "very broad in the shoulders" After leaving in tears I went to Silhouettes where the amazing sales staff found me the perfect dress

This was the most aweful experience I have ever had at a store. I brought my mother and to be mother in law to the store to look for mother of the bride and groom dresses. We started looking at the colourful dresses at the front of the store that I would say were probably more for bridesmaids but thats what we wanted vs the traditional dress. The lady asked what we were looking for and right away said "these are prom dresses, you have to go to the back of the store" I said yes but we want fun and colourful. She said "thats not how you pick a dress" Another lady asked when is the wedding? I said Aug 14th (its april 8th) she proceeded to inform us theres nothing here for us that would come in on time as the last shipping date is Aug 5th. Both women were very rude and had horrible attitudes. All negative from the moment we walked in. This place is aweful, wr also went to several other boutiques in the area and told hem of our aweful experience and they let us know its not the first time they have heard that. NEVER EVER GIVE THIS STORE YOUR BUSINESS!! I cant imagine the problems you would have if you actually ordered from Alias.

Have been looking for bridesmaids dresses with my sister-in-law for my little sister’s wedding. The woman working there was the most terrible, rudest and borderline racist person I’ve ever heard. We asked questions if there was other dresses in burgundy or different sizes other than 4 and she didn’t even let us finish - she just said: “well I charge $20 or $25 to MEASURE (which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of in my life). She didn’t answer the original question for us to try on a different dress for the sizes that she “claims” my sister-in-law was. Lastly, when we spoke on the phone, she was so nice and said we could come and in look but when she saw us, it completely changed. Truly disappointed that there are people like her still and worst of all, working somewhere related to customer service.

They ordered the wrong colour for one of my bridesmaids dresses and wouldn't do anything about it once it came in. It was already paid for, and they wouldn't even discount it to make up for the fact that we were now stuck with it. The staff are incredibly rude. I told them I was going to be losing a half an inch in time for my next fitting, and that I wouldn't need alterations. She said she doubted that I could do it. Then when I came back, I had lost an inch (which I had) but before even trying it on she looked my body up and down and said that is didn't look like it. Crazy lady. Never order from them!!!!

My bridesmaids and maid of honours' dresses were designed by Alfred Angelo. This designer just claimed bankruptcy and unfortunately no one is able to let Ella know whether the dresses were going to be delivered or not. Ella not only found me similar dresses by a different designer but because they were more money than the ones we originally chose she went out of her way to pay the extra so that my bridesmaids and maid of honour didn't have to. I also didn't mention in the beginning that my wedding is coming in about a month away!! So with not much time to even order new dresses Ella has even paid for our rush order to get the dresses in to us before my wedding. That huge weight was lifted off my shoulders because of this business. Thank you Ella! - Ashley

The staff at Aliya Bridal are incredibly rude. The first time I visited this store I was with my dad and stepmom. I couldn't believe how horribly we were treated by the store owner. After trying on a few dresses and finding one I really loved, I actually said I felt sick just so that I had an excuse to leave. I had originally planned on ordering the dress I liked from a different dress store, but Aliya Bridal had a 50% off sale and I couldn't pass that up. I honestly wish I had. I went in to Aliya Bridal for wedding dress alterations one month ago and stood in their front room, holding my dress, for 10 minutes before FINALLY being acknowledged by one of their employees - I wasn't hiding, we made eye contact multiple times, but they couldn't be bothered to even say "hello". When my dress was ready for alterations I was quoted $150 to have my dress hemmed (the only alteration it needed). I also asked that they remove the sash that was attached to my dress. When I went back to try it on the hem was slightly longer on one side and the sash was still attached, also I was charged $327. I know I should have disputed this price but the owner is such a bully that I was actually scared to say anything. My mom went back in to Aliya to pick up my dress (she is keeping it at her house until the wedding) and asked about the unexpected price increase. There were a number of different charges that added up the $327 (checking seems, securing loose beads, etc...) but the most ridiculous one of all was the amount they charged us to ATTACH THE SASH, which was already attached! My mom explained that we wanted to sash removed, and that we bought the dress with it attached. The owner held on to the dress in order to make these further alterations. My mom went back last Wednesday to pick up my dress and GUESS WHAT? The sash is now sewn all the way across the front of my dress. Not only could they not follow directions after being told THREE TIMES what we wanted, but they actually did the exact opposite of what we had asked! I would never advise anyone to purchase anything from this business. I only visited this store in the first place because I thought it would be nice to support a family business near my hometown. I feel as though, even with the alteration difficulties, if the people who worked at Aliya Bridal were kind and helpful my experience would have been much more positive. My dress truly is beautiful, but I could have ordered it elsewhere and I surely wish I had.

This place help save me!!! I had been dress hunting for my sons wedding and had no luck until we walked in to this place!! They knew my size and immediately set 5 or 6 dresses aside for me to try on!! They talked with us and and had great conversations!! They knew so much about the fabrics and styles and accessories! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for that perfect dress! I will definitely go back if I ever need another dress!! Thank you so much Aliya Bridal Fashions!! I cannot rave enough about Aliya's!!! I went in 15 days before my wedding as my dress that I originally had gotten from somewhere else was ruined by a seamstress. I went in and told them my story and the whole staff was amazing! They treated me like a princess and I found the most beautiful dress that I loved even more then my original one! I even had a faint moment where I thought I was going to pass out due to some health issues I'm having. They sat me down got me a water, and even brought me a homemade cookie! My whole experience there was amazing and I cannot say enough good things! Thank you so much! You saved my wedding day!

HORRIBLE costumer service.... Aliya is EXTREMELY rude.... and very unprofessional. NUMEROUS times i've went in with friends, and I can't count how many times, shes insulted my friends by either saying they're to fat to fit into a dress, or to poor to afford her dresses. When my best friend got married, they screwed up my dress, my dress was supposed to be different then the rest of the girls... longer in the back and shorter in the front... way shorter... the day of the wedding I was constantly tripping over my dress, my shoulder straps kept falling down, and the bottom of my dress is tore up. I would NEVER recommend her company.

it started out good...i paid for the dress left it came back to get alterations...all of a sudden my paid in full dress still had a balance and the older woman took forever to try and figure out why i still had a balance...she messed up....she needs to retire...i won't go there again

Thank you Aliya! You helped make my wedding day perfect!!! I really wanted to shop local but thought i'd never be able to find what I wanted without having to go to Toronto or London. Not only did I end up with a dress I LOVED! (not what I originally was looking for, but the owner picked it for me and I tried it on just for fun!) - but even though it was a bit over my budget, she gave me a great deal so I could afford this dream dress!!! The fit was great, the seamstress did everything I wanted! If you want a "big box store" experience, go over to pt.huron or london, but if you want people who actually care about you and your dress, Aliya Fashions is the place to go!

I had a terrible experience! I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding, Aliya ordered all the bridesmaids dresses in the wrong size, currently i have only paid a deposit. The owner asked my to come in and pay the remaining balance, I told her i did not want to spend over $200 on a dress that is almost double my size and that i wanted a refund. She refused the refund and is saying that I still have to pay my remaining balance. She was very rude about it as well.

I bought a dress from this shop last year and because i moved out west it got a little dingy. I went into the shop to see what they could do for me and she told me it wasn't fixable and I needed to buy a whole new dress so I did off of the SALE rack which came out to $600. I told her(Ella) I cant afford alterations and if it was going to be too much Id take my dress and go else were, she assured me in front of my friends that it would be no one than $160. I go to pick up my dress which is paid in full she tells me I owe $360 plus tax and started a fight with me she also took my daughters dress that I bought online and put a belt on that we didn't agree on and tried to make me pay for it she said "well i thought this one looked better", I got my daughters dress back with holes and black pen all over it. NEVER EVER go to this shop. Ella is an evil woman. I recorded my interaction with her and she called the police on me. I have the seamstresses face on camera admitting that the work wasn't done and ella charged me $405.80 so she basically robbed me. The staff here are absolutely AMAZING!!! Michelle and Anastasia were incredibly helpful (among the others, too) and made me feel special and a like a valued customer. I highly recommend checking out the boutique and trying on a wedding gown. Support Sarnia and purchase locally!

Horrible experience for myself and bridesmaid. Staff refused to allow my bridesmaid to try on a dress in the store and when asked why the answer was that the chances of my bridesmaid buying the dress at that store were low so they were not going to let her try it on. When trying to coordinate a bridal party from multiple cities it is helpful for them to try and order dresses from a local establishment; however, this experience will have us NEVER going back. Additionally, when I wrote this review on their Facebook page, their review section was promptly removed. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

Michelle is just a pleasure to work with and well exceeded my expectations when she went out on a limb for me at the last minute and was able to secure the colour dress that I wanted for my girls.
