When I went in an employee told me to get buttons for a jacket alteration, I showed her the jacket and exactly what I wanted and it seemed like no issue, I just had to get buttons. When I took it back in, a different employee told me that they don’t do button holes there. The only reason I’m giving a second star is because they did fix a pair of pants I brought in, but I would have appreciated not being sent across London to get buttons for something they couldn’t do. The employees were very passive and not communicative at all.

Worst Stitch It I've ever been to, I just moved to Laval and tried this one for the first time but I'd rather drive the extra distance to Fairview Pointe-Claire where their Stitch It is actually professional and polite. Carrefour Stitch It is a lost cause.

Been there many times. At first, about a couple years ago, they were fine but for some reason got worse. Their prices are way to high, sew an inner pocket $20 ? lol and I had it done from another tailor for $7. even with their coupons they give out wasn't worth it. It's too bad cause it was convenient but they have in the past had to redo some alterations they did on simple hemming. Once they forgot to sew a button on a suit jacket and I was departing on a trip. I ended up losing that button.

Amazingly friendly staff! I took in a bridesmaid dress I needed the zipper taken in on within a weeks notice of the wedding, the staff were so friendly in helping me get the right fit and working with me to have it done on such short notice. She even worked with me to get a few spots of blood out of the bottom of the dress from a mosquito bite I had been scratching on my ankle (above and beyond!). While I was paying I also witnessed a man come in with a seam he needed fixing and she fixed it right on the spot. Amazing customer service.

Depends on who you deal with. The light brunette/blonder skinny manager loves to charge you lots. Small patch work is medium, medium is large, etc. This has happened twice. Chalk mark for a patch is the size of my hand and the actual work is only palm size. Not impressed. 2020/06/17. garbage store. paranoid and not helpful. i highly suggest you go elsewhere. same staff member was not helpful and she was wearing so much protective gear that I could not hear a thing she was saying.

Went in to get a couple of things done right before New Year Eve. The new manager was helpful, addressed my concerns and provided outstanding service. Only issue I had was that when I got there they had made a few mistakes when charging. The new manager (I do not remember her name) noticed that and corrected it. i need to let you know about an incident that happened at your store this afternoon. At about 5:15 pm, a friend and I came into your store, the man that was In front of us was so rude, he was yelling at the manager that handled herself so well, this man was putting her down, yelling that she better give him his money back and that his pants were not up to his liking. And when I ask for a discount the lady said NO DISCOUNT. She said she would give me discount if I come back next time, but do you think customer would come back if you treat them like shi***. Then she started to explain "the new girl is vitanmense and her English is not good so its not our fault. " I was like what? It is you fault to hire someone who cant do the job. She even said she had run this business for 25 years and she doesnt need me to teach her. I just can't believe people like this can still have thier business. I have a expensive winter jacket I've brought here to have fixed several times for the same repairs that the stitches keep coming out of. They will fix it at no cost but if the stitches don't hold then why bother?. The staff is nice but I don't plan on coming back. The two star's are for the friendly staff. Also they tend to hold your item for a week and they dont start working on it till the day you pick it up and I've had to wait for them to finish when they have had it for a week?

I purchased a bridesmaid's dress online & when it arrived, you could fit two of me in it comfortably. The ladies at Stitch It have saved every one of my formal gowns in the past so I rushed to the mall. They were able to cut my dress in half & managed to make it look even more beautiful than when it arrived. They are so friendly & professional & boy, do they make you feel like a goddess with all the compliments while they take your measurements (even after you've put on a little covid weight). Hesitating between 2 and 3 stars because we got my maid of honours dress back perfectly fine, but my wedding dress... there were yellow stains left on it where they marked it to hem, and they were arguing with me that they did not put those marks there... 5 min later and the guy says ok, I will bring it to my shop and remove them with a special product, they should not have used yellow on a white dress... and to top it off they offered to hem it and leave a train at the back, instead they cut it straight and did not call to let me know and did not tell me when I picked it up... just really bad service in my one experience, definitely not going back :(

Brought in a suit that no longer fit as snug as I wanted. The seamstress showed me where they would bring it in and costs. Just picked up the suit and it is like a whole new suit at a fraction of the cost. Everything fits perfectly, even better than it did when I first bought it. I will be bringing all of my future suits here for adjustment.

Very poor customer service! They don’t do the job properly and then try to get you to pay more! Completely unacceptable and taking advantage of customers! My sheers were not hemmed correctly despite providing a sample and had other colour threads all over! Beware and go elsewhere especially since you have to go through a mall during COVID 19! In picture sample on right vs what they did! I paid $30 for a terrible job hemming one curtain panel, the length nor the sticking was done correctly. The managers solution, pay more and we will do it correctly instead of owning up to their error.

My Carhartt winter jacket zipper blew up. I already have my logo on the jacket, really don’t want to replace(probably $270 to replace with logo). Went in to see if it was even worth trying to fix it Or put a new zipper on. Ellada (the manager) greeted me with an amazing cheeriness and instantly assured me she can help. 10 minutes and under $14 had the zipper working way better then even before it broke. I am in the parking lot giving this review, because I am so impressed. I am going to spend some time tomorrow looking at what else I can bring down that needs fixing.

BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I came here to drop off his shirt for dry cleaning and 2 dresses to be altered. The lady who initially helped us was wonderful, she took my measurements and made helpful suggestions on how to best alter an old dress to be more modern. However when it came time to pick everything up 1 of the dresses was unaltered with the pins still in. The same initial lady was there and offered to quickly fix it and have it back to us within 15 minutes and sincerely applogized. My husband's shirt and the other dress were fine and we took those home with no issue. We didn't need the other dress right away so my husband returned a few days later to pick it up and when it was brought out there was a coupon attached for a complimentary service. My husband checked over the dress to be sure it was completed and while the alterations were done this time, the dress now had black marks on it and what looks like coffee stain spills! He pointed this out to the woman behind the desk, who was a different person this time, and she took the dress back, looked it over and told him the stains must have been there before. My husband tried to reason with her but she flat out refused to acknowledge the problem with the stains and told him he must now pay extra to get the stains removed. My husband took the dress and left and explained to me when he got home everything that had happened, only for us to also discover the woman behind the counter had also stolen the coupon! I now have to pay extra to get the dress dry cleaned at another location on top of everything else we paid for. Don't bother wasting your money , time and beautiful clothing at this location, you will only get ripped off!

These women just made my night!!! I had been scrambling to get ready for a friend's wedding in Michigan and I had gave them a dress I purchased online to be altered. One thing after the other kept happening ALL WEEK and when I finally came to pick up dress flustered because my mani/pedi appointment in the mall fell through (go figure!), they had noticed some work that I hadn't originally ask for when I tried the dress back on. I told them not to worry and to hang on to the dress while I tried to find another nail appointment in the mall but that fell through as well (Haha just my luck!). I must have been all of 10 minutes and when I came back they had cinched up the side for no extra charge. WHAT A LOVELY SURPRISE! The dress fits perfectly and not to mention that it was complicated due to so many sequins! I will definitely return and recommend anyone to go there. Amazing work. Thank you Stitch It!

We had a wedding this summer, it was less than a week away and Dawn said to bring it in and they'd get it done. My dress had a lot of detailed sequence, but her team was able to get it done on time and they did an awesome job. They also fixed my daughters maid of honour dress, she had used the woman at Stitch It at the Fairview mall for her alterations. I would not recommend her at all, she was rude and grumpy and needless to say did a half done job since Dawn's team had to stitch, tuck and gather. Plus when I decided to pick up my dress because I didn't trust Stitch at the Fairview Mall with it after seeing my daughters dress, she wasn't going to give me my money back and she hadn't even started on it yet. Dawn did it for a better price and her team were so nice, I would highly recommend them.

Pretty disappointed, I came to Stitch It at Chinook Centre to get an end of a karate belt stitched closed (as it was cut off a longer belt and was not finished on one end ) so that it would have a finished end. It has a 2” width to be stitched. I was told it would be $15 plus tax. I Chose not to get it done at that cost. I have used their services for other work but it seems that their prices fluctuate by whichever clerk takes your garment in.

My wife searched her wardrobe and found a beautiful shoulder-less evening gown, she thought she could update and it would be perfect. She brought it into Stitch-It Fairview (Pt. Claire, Qc), and the ladies turned it into exactly what she had in mind. Not only was end-result professionally finished, the turn-around quick, and the price very reasonable - but they went the extra mile !! Very unprofessional, didn’t offer any sort of compensation for what she could do to the jeans, just said “no I’m not doing that, it’s too much work” over and over and then walked away in to the back room. I have always gone to the same tailor for years, she is a small mom pop shop that i can depend on, and over the years I have sent many people to her, long story short i always felt mall shops did not have that personal touch needed.... boy was i wrong. While i was traveling to Calgary for a wedding, i required some alterations to my suit, upon consulting with a local fashion consultant i was advised to visit Stitch It in chinook mall, I had my hesitation but i knew the work was easy and I did not question their competence. Pick up time for my suit was half a week out which was typical, however the timing of the pick up coincided with wedding dates and i was too busy to actually pick it up when it was ready (pick up date was friday, and event i needed for was on sunday) i squeezed in some time on saturday to get to the mall and pick up my suit where i was bombarded with disturbing news that they were in fact closed, and would remain closed until the following tuesday. At this point i would have been walking into this wedding in my boxers, and although it was a pleasant fall in calgary, it was still calgary. I called the store a few times with no answer (i even watched the phone ring through the glass door but still stayed on the line in some hope that a lonely shop keeper would turn on the lights and yell sike!) At this point i pulled a hail mary while driving to the wedding rehearsal - I emailed the Stitch it head office pleading for some help, and the unimaginable happened - i got an email back! it must have been 9pm on a Saturday, making it about 11pm EST where some one at corporate was smart enough to have emails forwarded to her phone. She emailed me back saying, she will contact the district manager, who will find me the right person and make some magic happen for this wedding. Thirty minutes later i got a call from a confused lady, to whom i explained the situation and she advised me she will come meet me first thing sunday morning (thanksgiving weekend) and open the store up for me so and assures me that this wedding will go on. Longgg story short... the fine folks at Stitch it CARE!

I bring all of my pants here to be hemmed. They are always very accommodating when I ask for custom lengths so they don’t ride up when wearing work boots. The ladies working there are very friendly, I’ve never once had a stitch they’ve put in let go and the turn around time is always quite fast. I’ve never had to wait past the time they quote. If they say 3pm, and I show up at 3, the items are already done, folded and bagged.

Worst experience ever. Brought 3 pairs of trousers for hem fixing (shortening), as well as a pair as a sample for length. Came back as attached picture. One pair was almost an inch longer! Went back to get it re-done, and the manager I spoke to was unreal. She didn’t even offer a sincere apology, but continued “Everybody makes mistakes, right? Don’t you, too?”. I expressed displease because that’s not how you talk to your customer who is wasting the time going back there. Then she called me the one with attitude, then told me to “Back off”. She refused to give my money back, and told me that I wasn’t welcome at “her store” any longer. So I left there feeling like I was the one who was at fault. Haha. Don’t use them, guys. They’ll mess with your valuable clothes, and won’t claim any responsibility. Bring your business elsewhere.

Craziest Experience! Hours before a wedding, a family member experienced a problem with her zipper on her dress and was desperate to find help. The three of us travelled and looked for places that were open, and fortunately found Stitch It. The woman there was wonderful and squeezed us in time for us to be able to make it to the wedding ceremony and fixed the zipper. Because of Stitch It's great efforts, we will definitely be coming again!

I think this place is great! I come here all the time and have been a customer for 3+ years as I usually do most of my shopping at Fairview Mall. I know there are probably a lot of other alteration places around, but the friendly staff that work here are experts that produce quality work -- I know exactly what to expect every time. I know the price point isn't the best in all of GTA, but the convenience of it being located at the mall right off the highway and me not having to drive to another place just to get things altered definitely plays a factor for me. Last Thursday, I went in during the afternoon to get two pairs of pants hemmed. I asked if I could get it done on the same day and they were able to turn it around within 2 hours. This was amazing because it was Black Friday week and they were more busy than usual. It was kind of a lifesaver as well for that last minute outfit purchase. I would recommend this place to my friends because I know they won't be disappointed, but agree that the price point could be better. However, for the little extra money you're paying, you get quality work and materials plus the convenience.

Worst experience ever!!!!! Do NOT Go There unless you wanna pay for any mistake they make !!!! I send my Canada Goose to Pen Center's Stitch It to get a dry clean. When I get my coat back, I realized that my coat is ruined. My Canada Goose is a red one, however, when I get it back, the color of many part of the coat has turned to white !!! I was very upset, and talked to the manager. However, the manager, Dawn Lloyd, was very rude. She said that Stitch it just dropped my coat to another dry cleaner, Stitch it does't do any dry clean, so Stitch it does NOT have ANY RESPONSIBILITY ! " I paid dry clean fee to Stitch it, and get receipt from Stitch it. But now Dawn Lloyd doesn't wanna help me solve this problem ! There is a sentence on Stitch it's receipt:" Quality Guarantee: If we cannot fix it, we will buy it back. Dry cleaning- If we cannot fix it, 10X cost of cleaning." They have customer service guarantee on their website and receipt, but now the manager,Dawn Lloyd, is very rude and doesn't wanna do anything !!!!

Honestly.. I dont give very many reviews about specific people within establishments, more so about the overall but Matthew is a true artist. I had a blazer and four pants dropped off, two of which were under a time crunch. He tailored the blazer perfectly, when I wore it to the wedding it was so heavily complimented and noticed by everyone. The pictures were heavily watched on the social media platforms I posted them on. I was definitely feeling my oats in the look. I searched high and low for someone to fix the other pants and have them look great as i was told they couldn't be fixed. I would HIGHLY recommend him. I will be seeing him again.

I really wish I wasn't in such a rush and had time to find a better place. For one, I was basically fought with over what I WANT the length of my dress to be. Knowing I would only be wearing heels for a short while I requested getting a bit more of my dress hemmed but I was told "No. No. This is good." I dont think my point of not wearing my shoes for long was getting across. The price for what I got cut off was ridiculous. 67$ for not even getting what I wanted cut off was just dumb. Considering I personally know someone with the exact same style of dress only paid 45$. But of course, I was dumb and left my options to a minimum and didn't have time to look around. I will never come back to stich it and I will never recommend it to anyone.

Overpriced and not what I asked. I was charged $45 to shorten my suit jacket sleeves by less than an inch. When I went to pick up the jacket, it was not enough as I’d asked. If I could give no stars I would. When I came to get my clothes there was no one there. I looked in the back and some guy was ironing with one hand and talking on the phone. When he finally came out he said he was on his break and handed me off to someone else.. She went in the back for ten minutes and came out and told me she couldn't find them. She told me to wander around the mall and she'd look for them. She called me back 20 minutes later and told me she found them but the hadn't been done yet. I'm sitting in the mall waiting for them to hem my clothes still.

My favourite dress' seams were torn in the drier and me trying to save a buck, used fabric glue to re-hem it. I screwed up big time and I needed this dress ASAP! They took my dress in. Not only did they finish early, they did a heavy duty stitch (they said it'd show but I was completely okay with it!), AND they tried to remove the clumps of glue residue. I'm so, so happy they went above and beyond!!!

Stay away from this Place, if you think you deserve to be treated respectfully!!! I had given a pair of Suit Pants for Hemming and Size Alteration on December 1st, 2015 evening at this store. While turning in the pants to the person at the Cash Register, I had informed her that the waist button just fell off and it needed to be sewed back. The person entering the order asked me to leave the button in the pants pocket and that she will have it sewed for no extra charge. As I was telling her that my total for alteration of over $30 was more than what I had paid for the pants themselves. When I went back to collect the pant on December 2nd evening, the older lady present in the store (who I was informed is probably also the manager there) was getting ready to go on a break. I told her I was there to collect my Pants and she let me in. I tried the pants on and felt like the person that worked on it did a pretty good job. I also noticed that the waist button was still missing. I informed it to the lady and she replied that it was not done because it was not mentioned in the order. The Lady that took my order was also not around at that time. When I tried to explain what happened last evening and requested her to check with her colleague, she responded very rudely. She told that sewing the button is extra $7 which was not charged, and very reluctantly said that she would sew "a" button. I told her that I needed the original button which I had left in the pockets, when she was trying to sew in some other button (which looked really awkward). She behaved in a very uncivilized manner saying "No one will peep inside your pants to look for what kind of button it is", and tried to touch the pants I was wearing to prove her point that the button for the waist of the pants is not similar to what is sewed over the back pockets. I told her it looks exactly like those buttons as I had seen it, and had put it myself in the pocket of the pants. Fortunately, I noticed the original button I had put in the pants pocket on a sewing machine in the shop and told her that this was the button. In the end she sewed it, but it was a very unpleasant experience for me. I wanted to bring this matter to the attention of the store owner or manager, so that any corrective measures would be taken and other customers wouldn't have to go through a similar experience. I ran into the lady that took my order later in teh week and explained her what had happened. She seems to be a nice and decent woman who informed me that the lady who behaved rudely with me could be the manager itself, and that the owner of the brand lives in Toronto. I thought it would be moot point if the person I was going to talk to was the person that caused the problem. The (nicer) lady informed me that the company values customer feedback and suggested that I could email everything to an e-mail address. I e-mailed the business explaining what had happened, but they never responded or even acknowledged the receipt of my e-mail. Reading some recent reviews, it looks like the rude lady is still around and the situations hasn't changed. Although I like the way the work was done, I would neither return to the store in future nor recommend it to others.

Brought in a pair of work pants to get a high visibility strip put on a month ago, told them exactly what was needed and they put the stripes vertically down the side instead of around the leg. They couldn't understand the instructions when I was there so I had to show them multiple times. They also couldn't figure out how to charge this to the account so I had to help them with their till! I went to use the pants for the first time since I picked them up (after they fixed their mistake) and discovered they unsewed the bottom of the cargo pockets to put fix their mistake and never sewed the pockets back! My father passed away this September from cancer and for Christmas I wanted to turn one of his old shirts into a stuffed animal for my mom. Even though they hadn’t done stuffed animals before a lady named Julie tried and it turned out beautifully!!! Instead of making just a small flat bear shape she went above and beyond and made an adorable bear and a pillow out of the left over t shirt material. Everyone was so extremely kind and it was a wonderful experience I will definitely go back and I recommend you go as well!! ❤️

I don't even want to give my experience a star. I was told to come back the next day when the semestress was working, which I had no issue with. I came back the next day (today) and the semestress was on her way out the door even though I was told she would be there until 5:00. She passed me off to an employee who aimlessly just stuck a pin in the dress not taking into consideration what it would look like. This did obviously not work so the employee proceeded to tell me that the dress just didn't fit me and I could wait for the semestress tomorrow and she could add material but that it would cost me a lot of money. LOVE this place! Lucy and Kathy are gems! Professionals at what they do! I sent a couple ladies here because they hemmed my evening gown for a wedding I was going to! My experience was amazing with stitch it at the Fairview mall. They were able to tailor my corduroy pants that were way too big. A lot of tailors told me that it was impossible to fix my pants because they were corduroy, but stitch it found a way to fix them. The tailoring was perfect and I was really happy with the end product. If you have any tailoring needs, I strongly recommend you going to stitch it at the Fairview mall. Very Disappointed. It's not worth the price! I have seen good review of Stitch It! online so I brought three of my pants to get the hemline shortened. I paid roughly 50 bucks for a poorly done alteration. The first pants was to shorten with plain serged hem. The hemline was crooked and there was an overlap on the stich. I personally think that it is ok to overlap the stiches as long as they come across and form a single line. But no, the stitch formed a second line which was very obvious because they are 2 mm apart. The second pants was jeans with Euro hem, the loose stiches was noticeable. Having paid 18.50 for the second pants, it is only fair that the loose stiches be cut and cleaned up as well. But that was not the case. For the third pants, they charged me 6 bucks just for a single stich repair just below the zipper. The hemline of the third jean was crooked as well. I was looking forward for a professionaly done alteration but this alterstation didn't reach my expectation. I threw away 50 bucks for a repair that my mother could have done herself.

Stitch it is great for really routine things like pant hems, taking in waists and jacket sleeves. I’ve not had luck with more complex things. Also timing can be an issue. If you need it fast, it is hit and miss. Sometimes they just don’t have capacity to turn it around quickly. Ask first.

I have been doing business with Stitch it for several years. I had some shirt sleeves shortened and turned out they were measured slightly too short. Brought shirts back and no problem, details and receipts copied and full refund of cost of shirt was received. Imported from UK, with duty and taxes and covered. We are talking expensive shirts. And on other shirts I have had altered, ( Eton and Stenstrom labels ) a perfect job and great care to ensure satisfaction. Employees are friendly and they can handle fine tailoring no problem. I have never been spoken to more rudely in my life. I simply asked if my order was ready and customer service went in on me right away about not picking them up on time and obviously I missed the phone call and it was my fault for not following up. I was simply calling to check as I was off work and I got snapped at instantly then got lectured for speaking rudely when I was as professional as could be since I'm representing my company account. I went here to get a new zipper for my winter coat. The lady who worked there was happy to accommodate (I didn't get her name, but she sounded European) and made suggestions that I was really happy with. The price was about $35 (cheaper than a new coat) and my coat was done in about 2 days. I was very happy! The lady was very nice on drop off and pick up and was happy to do what I asked. I would use them again! I don't know why the reviews are bad on here for this place. Maybe they changed Management or associates, because I was quite satisfied.

Repaired a small hole in a pair of new-ish athletic leggings. You cannot even tell the hole was ever there, it is almost brand new again. Repair was done quickly, and it was very reasonable price. Pretty great. I needed to get my sleeves shortened an inch on my work polo, and it was measured and done in time ready for the next day. I came an hour early and it was ready. Great service! But also, it is a little pricey i got charged 30$ just to reduce size of polo sleeve by an inch or so. So I guess that’s the only downside, I usually can get it done somewhere for less than 15$. Cashier person was awesome Otherwise, will definitely visit them again to adjust work uniforms to fit better.

I've been coming to this location for a while now. I decided to create a custom-made hoodie with crests and patches from my karate school. Lada did all the work and it was fantastically done at a reasonable price. She was very accommodating on the timeline and got it back to me in no time. A short while later, I brought in two jackets to have the zippers replaced. One had visible damage and the other was simply difficult to close up. Lada could have simply charged me and replaced them both, but she took time to examine both zippers and was able to confirm that the second, undamaged zipper didn't require replacement. Lada makes this location the only place I bring my clothing for repairs, alterations and customization, despite the fact I live on the other side of town. She is a credit to her art. Good value, professional repairs and quick service time. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Brutal experience. Paid for a quick stitch on a pocket and was told it would take 5 minutes. Came back over an hour later and waited in line for 15 minutes without any service only to be told that the girl was on lunch and we would have to wait another half an hour. Then when we said we couldn't wait she told us she would do it right away. Got the coat back and after walking out the door realizes they hadnt even done the repair. I have never experienced something like this. Along the way they customer service was terrible as the rep made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. I would not recommend going there. Find somewhere where they actually appreciate your business and will do the repair you paid for!

Somewhat difficult to understand at times but not a bad store. Accidentally missing the pick up date was not an issue for me, we just came a couple days later and all was good. They do in-person sizing so be prepared to change unless you already have your clothes marked.

Being a short person who's lost and gained weight, I've used this Stitches location since I moved in across the street from the mall over 3 years ago. Everything has come back well hemmed or stitched or fixed properly. But it's the little things, like today, I took in a pair of good leggings in as there was a small hole (not even a quarter inch) in the seam at the back. Not know how to sew with stretchable thread, I didn't want to fix this on my own, so bit the bullet to pay to have it done. Well what a surprise, it was such a small repair, they said, just wait a few minutes and we do it for free. So thank you, it's the little repairs that they do for free that count in addition to their existing services.

I bought two pairs of scrub pants to be hemmed. Upon arriving, the staff was accommodating and directed me to the fitting room. The female staff then approached me and pinned the length of my scrub pants , and I was told to come back before 7 pm today. I am very satisfied of the result of the alteration. This is exactly the length of the pants that I was expecting for. I am very satisfied with there service.

Lady was really nice, I told her about my bad experience at my last tailor so she took care of me. Both pairs of pants were hemmed and done at the time promised. My last tailor did a horrible job and it all fell apart in a matter of months. Definitely going back to Stitch It again!

Asked the woman in the store to remove a patch and put it onto a jacket. She refused to do so and asked my partner to take it off himself and bring it back then she'd stitch it onto the jacket. Terrible.

Marilyn the manager is amazing She is very knowledgeable in repairs. I brought her a pair of my husband's pants that he wears for work which are quite expensive and we didn't want to pay for a new one.
