Vera will make you look GREAT! She has a keen eye, incredible knowledge of fabric and fit, and some would say a magical touch! When I called to inquire about alterations to two suits for my upcoming TEDx Kanata video shoot, Vera explained that the store was closing for holidays in two days. However, instead of declining to help me, she made time in her busy schedule to take measurements and make the adjustments. Vera even met with me the day before she was to leave to ensure that everything fit properly and looked good. The quality of her craftwomanship is exceptional. I would highly recommend her services to anyone, and look forward to returning in the future.

I have been a client of Vera for 19 years, since she opened her first store at Lincoln Heights. I had bought a pair of pants that that were a bit loose and asked her to take them in. She liked mine so much that she bought the same and after washing them noticed that they had shrunk. When I came around to pick up my new pants, she told me that she had not done the alterations because she felt that it would be a waste of my money and I should take them home and wash them. She could have done the alterations and charge me, but she is fundamentally honest. She would rather say no to a job rather than do unnecessary work. I also know from experience that if something cannot be done or not worth doing, she will tell you. She is an amazing seamstress, European trained, not one of those fly by night operation that would rather destroy a garment rather than tell you they don’t have to expertise to do it properly. Regrettably, there are less and less professional like Vera. She is a well-trained and competent seamstress with a great sense of humour. Totally worth the visit.

Originally visited this week for alterations of scrub pants. When I came to pick them up, I also brought a pair of ripped pants, thinking she could work on them at a later time. On chance I took one to Master Stitch Up and Vera had no hesitation, and did what was needed perfectly and reasonably.
