Last summer I trusted him to fully outfit me for my blended Indian/Caucasian wedding. I have never in my life been known for my fashion as have never had the time. Empire has made that easy.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because one of the employees was really nice, honest and very professional. My biggest disapointment was when I asked the owner who was assisting me why my suit lapel was popping out. He said that there was nothing they could do because my chest were too strong. Just for the record, Serge Ibaka gets his suits made there and from what I know, he is not the skinniest guy. Enough said.

We're so exited about the custom-made suit we ordered via a Groupon deal. Byron assisted us through all the variety of choices in styles, textiles and custom tailoring. We were never rushed and we enjoyed the whole process of putting together a fine suit. Our choice? We went for The 'Executive.' I can't wait to see how great my man looks in this suit. These guys are knowledgeable, passionate about what they do. Anxiously awaiting our suit. So far, so good. Recommended.

Honestly I had a pretty horrible experience. We went to order a suit and the guy helping us who will remain nameless, was completely unprofessional, rash and literally measured the suit as quickly as possible. No attention to detail, no thought or care. He was clearly just trying to close and get us out as soon as possible, and seemed annoyed by the questions we asked because the suit needed to be shipped internationally. When the suit did arrive in Germany there was a stain on the "complimentary" pocket square that came with the suit, and of course the suit did NOT fit as well as it should have. They were good about providing new pocket squares to replace the stained one, but the service was again pretty horrible. If anything, I think it was a complete lost opportunity on their part for not recognizing the chance to be recommended and represented internationally. I would seriously think twice before getting your suit from here, or at the very least be VERY clear about the specifications of your suit, and don't let anyone tell you to not worry about it because this is what they do.

Found this place online and wanted to check out. When I came in I was told that this place operates by appointment only and I should go online and book an appointment and say what is the purpose of the visit. When I suggested to speak face to face as I already was there I was told to leave and book and appointment as they communicate via online only. Comical and disappointing story. Hostile customer service.

Explanation for the rating: Nice and courteous rep. Very knowledgeable. The fabrics I wanted to see were not at the store. I was told that they had been taken to another store by mistake. VBC and Drago are big names. I would expect each store to carry two sample booklets of each. Location was wrongly marked on Google maps. Quite a hassle running around figuring out the location. Tim Hortons is a poor landmark because there is one to the South of the wrongly marked location and one to the West. Both are at same distance adding to the confusion. Anyhow, rating is based on the overall consultation experience, relative to the experience of the same at other suit makers in downtown.

Being 6'5" it can be tough to find a suit that properly fits, and I have to say that Empire Customs nailed it - totally custom suit, and although I didn't go for all the bells and whistles I feel they knocked it out of the park. I wear my suit a couple times a week, and we're now at the 1 year mark and it's still like I just bought it. Going back for my second and third shortly - only thing I recommend is when you go, get more than 1 shirt. It's tough to find thick collared shirt that goes well with the suits.

Took 2 months to get my suits done. Apparently all made in Thailand so it's very difficult to adjust in case the suits doesn't fit, which is unfortunately my case. Fixed 2 times to end up with a shorter sleeves than expected. I gave up at this point and think of my $800 as a charity donation. If you get a suits from them you should hope nothing go wrong.

Great experience. The boys suited me up for a wedding last year, and I plan to go back to them for my cousins wedding next year. I know I could easily order a suit online or go to some pop up shop, but I like knowing that I can go to the Empire Shop and Dennis and the team will be there.

This was my first time purchasing a custom suit and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. I had originally booked an appointment for an introductory consultation, but after spending only a brief few minutes with the friendly and knowledgable Carlo discussing what Empire Customs is about, I was on board. With a plethora of customizable options for the suits, shirts, and ties, decisions are made with little difficulty by having the guidance of Carlo and staff at your disposal, not to mention an entire wall of completed orders to borrow inspiration from! I arrived at Empire Customs hesitant with my inexperience, on a budget, and on a tight timeline (for a friends wedding) but left confident in my choices, without breaking the bank, and with a guarantee to be ready before the wedding! I have never been compelled enough to write a review as I am today. I booked an appointment for a simple consultation and the person attending to us (Army) was extremely rude, sarcastic and condescending. Don't expect any customer service from him unless you're a TML or Raptor player. Its too bad because their price point was decent. Very disappointing.

I initially went to this place because I got a deal at wagjag or groupon. I called the store, arranged a fitting and when I arrived the employees were very professional, friendly and personable. The store is a bit small but it has a classy atmosphere. They made colour and matching recommendations for me and fit me for the suit. The visit did not take long at all. A short time later I received a call from the store saying it was ready to be picked up. I arranged to pick up the suit at 7pm on a Friday (the store closes at 7pm) but I got stuck in traffic and my GPS led me astray (I was driving from Hamilton). I finally arrived at the store at about 7:30pm. Luckily I called ahead and asked them to please wait until I arrived so I could get the suit. I spoke with Ann (sp) and Carlos (sp) and they agreed to wait at the store until I arrived. When I arrived I tried on the suit and it was a great fit and is now one of the nicest suits I have. I cannot thank them enough for going the extra mile to stick around on a Friday night to do this for a customer even after the store was closed. I am very happy with both the suit and the services of Ann and Carlos at Empire Customs and would highly recommend the company. Thanks again!

Well that's unfortunate because we had a mix up with some suits for a business event he had and we were willing to spend any amount to get a suit ASAP, whatever they had that would fit him. They didn't even acknowledge us. Lost business for them I guess. Went elsewhere and got exactly what we wanted within an hour and paid around $700 happily. Not happy with Empire

Don't ever get suit here if you want it to be ready for your fiance's wedding day! We ordered a suit months ago and still don't have it! My now husband had to go elsewhere! ALL lies, false promises, and do not deliver. Do not go here. Unreliable and always makes excuses.

Both are names were spelled incorrect and they promised it would be fixed in time...it wasn't. 14 months later and I have reached out multiple times and have heard nothing in return. The moment I paid it was like I didn't exist, I guess that's my fault for paying! Suit was made well, fit well and material was what expected.

I used Empire Customs for my wedding and could not have been happier. Myself, my groomsmen, my dad and my father-in-law all had custom suits and shirts made. There are hundreds of patterns and fabrics available to choose from, which can become overwhelming at times, but Carlo was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. The suits and shirts are great quality, very reasonably priced and arrived in a few weeks time. Once the suits arrived, any necessary alterations were complimentary, which was a nice added touch that my groomsmen were happy with.

They have always fit great and looked good. My customer experience has always been above and beyond here. I even got my wedding suit done at this store. Overall a great experience!

UPDATE: I went in today to pick up my complimentary tailored sport jacket and to my surprise, not only did they make me a jacket, they also made me the pants as well. So I was pretty chuffed with that. While the initial experience was disappointing, the owner Dennis did step up and make things right. Byron who helped me with choosing the fabric and taking measurements for the second jacket was very helpful, patient and professional. The complimentary suit is much appreciated. Thanks. UPDATE: The owner has reimbursed the $93 i spent on fixing the pants and has offered me a complimentary sport jacket to compensate I picked up my suit yesterday and overall was not pleased. The experience from beginning to end I was dissatisfied and nervous. The measurements taken were rushed and no questions were asked as to what I wanted as in jacket length, little custom details etc. But I left it in the hands of the "professionals" thinking they knew what they were doing. I requested to have the suit around a week before leaving for a wedding. The suit arrived a week late and luckily my plans to go abroad for a wedding changed and I was leaving 3 days after than originally planned. I went in for my first fitting and not 100% happy with the suit and was rushed again but I thought after the tweaking and adjustments the suit will be better. Picked up the suit yesterday and the pants were a disaster. They reassured me they looked good but believe me, they looked odd. Extremely narrow and the bottom half was not in proportion to the top half. The jacket was ok but could have been 1/2-1 inch longer as I'm 6'2" tall. I gave the pants to the guy that does my alterations and paid a bit extra to get a rush on it. Cost me $90 to fix. Shows you how much they screwed up the pants. He was extremely disappointed with who ever worked on it and said it must have been an amateur. I wouldn't recommend this place. It looks like they take care of the guys who order half a dozen suits in one shot and the basketball players that come in. The rest of us they want out ASAP. I strongly suggest not to pay in advance. Pay at the end when picking up the suit!

We just came for our second fitting - Dennis, his brother and thier team have excellent attention to detail (which I am quite the stickler for!) There are so many fabrics and liners to choose from - staff are not pushy and give you plenty of space to make your own decision. Considering hubby is tall, it's so great to find the right fit - especially with the length of dress shirt and neck size. You just can't compare to a suit from Empire! I am so excited for how AMAZING my hubby will look on our special day, photos to last a lifetime. The whole experience was top notch.
