At this moment the firm receives a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is practically the best one, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the rating is quite credible. If people have bothered to give their score when they are satisfied with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
We had a wonderful Christmas at this five star resort. The food at every meal was amazing. Our room was a luxurious King Suite with views of the bay and Saint Andrews. We have traveled extensively and without a doubt the staff we encountered here were the most attentive and professional of all. We will be returning.
Great resort great staff. Food at times mediocre. Small things like no toast with breakfast though it was ordered. Consistent with potatoes in morning. Always cold. Why even have your version of home fries. Not really needed with most items on your breakfast menu.
Can’t recommend the Algonquin enough! In-House Reservations helped us out big time when we had to make changes to our booking, when the Marriot call centre wouldn’t do anything for us. Our room was excellent, with a pack n play already set …
This is a beautiful historic hotel with modern upgrades, such as a pool with hit tub and slide. The rooms were clean and spacious. We ate at the praxton restaurant and the food was delicious. Staff was also so friendly and helpful. Totally would recommend this hotel for family vacation.
The Algonquin is a great place to stay on business or for pleasure while visiting St. Andrews by the Sea. …
An absolute gem with European charm and not a detail spared. The staff here are welcoming and more than accommodating, making it feel like a home away from home, with a resort feel. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere in a beautiful seaside village. A special place to visit at any season.
service / golf / food were all terrific / extremely comfortable beds and pillows fantastic atmosphere all around will come back
Great place for a business or leisure stay. No detail has been left out or missed. Two Tesla chargers which helped us out a lot. …
Very disappointed with our stay. No microwave and fridge to warm food after paying so much money. We won't be coming back. Not impressed, I would rather pick a regular hotel multiple times.
Wonderful staff,,great breakfast and absolutely amazing views!! Clean rooms and very sensibly priced. Truly a wonderful stay!!
We were delighted to spend 2 nights at the Algonquin resort to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Everything was wonderful and they even recognized our anniversary with a card and chocolates! We would highly recommend a visit, even in winter! Lovely!!
Excellent hotel & staff! Hotel was very clean & well maintained! If we are in area again we will visit
Beautiful Inn with great service, delicious food with a long and interesting history. Would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the the Algonquin Hotel. It has character and charm and you want to leave your room to relax on the outdoor porches, patios, and common areas for games, meal, or drinks. The food is upscale and delicious. It …
Beautiful hotel on well maintained grounds in charming St. Andrews. Excellent, polite staff. Well appointed suites, but surprised that no bath tub was provided, only shower. Disappointing buffet breakfast with powdered eggs and frozen …
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration at the Right Whale Pub. Thank you Bart for always welcoming us.
My parents stayed here to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were treated very special. They raved about the breakfast and special dessert! Thank you so much to everyone from the booking to the end of their stay! It was wonderful to hear them say it was like a dream!
Loved my stay! Highly recommend it. Staff are welcoming, friendly, professional and went above and beyond. Property is unique with history, stories, and of course close to the ocean. The room was great, beds comfortable, we had a little …
Service at the Resort was second to none! Our experience was seamless, convenient and entertaining. All the things you look for when you do a self serving runaway time, We really needed this moment after an exhausting year.
St Andrews is a special place, laid back, friendly, picturesque with wonderful shops and restaurants. Of course staying at The Algonquin Resort made it even more special. I will definitely be back.
We had an amazing time, food was great, loved the amenities, we will definitely be going back and recommending to friends and family.
Smiling faces of the past are now replaced with zombie like blank stares, going through the motions. Used to be a happy place, now it is a sterile environment from staff. …
Staying at this hotel is an experience . You feel the history in the banisters while walking upstairs, it is so tastefully renovated to include modern convenience but you can still feel its history. Luxury abound in the quality furnishings …
Luxury prices, average experience. We felt for what we paid we expected more. Our room was very small and had no privacy facing the parking lot on the first …
Was excellent, aside from issues with the ‘kitchenette’ in our room which had no utensils, plates, cups, towels, dish soap etc. Simply just fridge and microwave with small sink. When we called to ask for plates/cups/utensils to heat up some …
Another excellent weekend at your resort. The food was great, golfing was lots of fun, and your staff were top notch. Thanks again
Spent 2 nights in the one bedroom suite, while the room may be a little dated in terms of décor and mattress, the washroom was updated. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the hotels ample amenities and location made for an incredible stay at St. Andrews By-The-Sea
The pool and outdoor slide is incredible. The slide does not connect with the pool so you are not worried about kids flying into the pool and hurting those trying to enjoy a leisurely swim. The hotel's renovations are amazing. The rooms …
Our stay was beyond our expectations, the staff, the food and the drinks were incredible! The room was clean and a great size with a beautiful view of the water! Can't wait to return!
We stayed in Algonquin resort around Christmas time, love the historic building , Christmas decorations simple and classy, Staffs was friendly. We got the room #339 Queen bed with Bayview the room is cozy but very tiny especially washroom! Sometime very noise, don’t know where it came from, the breakfast it ok, dinner it delicious we had seafoods risotto and salad ???????? over all we had good time! The best in St Andrew it easy to meet deer on the road they are very cute !
Quick weekend getaway with family. The service was excellent. Our daughter had an allergic reaction at dinner and the staff were just great about taking care of us afterwards. Will definitely go back with friends and family.
Coming from all mountains we were so pleased with the location to the ocean. It was an easy, beautiful walk to the town , with many amazing stores, souvenirs and quality products . The residents are so friendly and welcoming. The Resort had …
Best experience I have EVER had at a hotel !! Would never have to leave on site, comfortable room, with a view, but the staff is what really made our stay. They are amazing , every single one of them !! Very pet friendly hotel too!! I can not say enough about this beautiful home away from home.
Wonderful stay with my little family and dog! Food at the restaurant was AMAZING! Awesome staff all around the resort.
Stayed for one night in a king room. Enjoyed every minute; beautiful resort and grounds. The pool and slide was fun! The food and drinks are a little over priced. No room at the restaurant but the bar downstairs was open from 5-12 so could …
Room was not as advertised on the app, no mini fridge, when the room was cleaned they left garbage in the toilet.. we purchased breakfast in our room price and were charged on the bill when checking out… staff were pleasant, however; our room did not reflect the cost paid
We regularly stay at the resort but due to Covid we missed 2020 season, it was great to return this year with NO RESTRICTIONS!, the facilities are fantastic on the resort and we enjoyed the pool and activities that St.Andrews area uniquely …
We found the ice trays small and when we asked the front desk if they had bigger ones they said to ask the kitchen, the kitchen then got one for us but the attitude about the situation could’ve been better. We also noticed that nobody was enforcing the adult swim times which was disappointing
Very nostalgic but is used up. Needs a makeover. I would eat in town as the food quality was just average. I expected a lot more.
We were very pleased with our stay returning to the Algonquin. It brought back many happy memories from our wedding day and was great to finally return to St. Andrews. Special thanks to Colby (I think, the gentlemen attending the front …
We had one of the best 2 night stays ever at a Marriott property. From the complimentary room upgrade to the welcome plate of goodies that awaited us when we entered the room. We were allowed to check in earlier than we had expected which …
Very elegant hotel in excellent location and stunning grounds. Food was good and service attentive and prompt. The beds comfortable but only major issue was absurdly small bathroom that forces one to "dance" with the door to get in. Inexcusable for a hotel of this pedigree. There is also no small fridge in the rooms and the maintenance of the corridors is lacking. Overall, not worth the $300+ per night. Hope these issues can addressed soon.
This stay was a mixed bag. The place overall is still beautiful, although some pieces are a bit dated(need maintenance). The food was the biggest let down, mostly because the new staff had a bit of a struggle to get the orders right, but …
My husband and I stayed at the Algonquin for our 23rd Anniversary. It was a truly magical experience, and we loved every minute. The grounds were impeccable, we were greeted at the entrance with friendly staff. The room was beautiful. …
Resort: gorgeous Rooms: decent and comfy. Warm in arrival and hard to get cooled down, but we managed. Property and amenities: great. So why only 2 stars? The food; our first morning my husband and I got breakfast. $8 for 2 small coffee. Food was ok. Husband ordered pancakes with his poutine, they were good but small. Total for breakfast was $54 plus tip for the two of us. Skipped lunch, since breakfast wasn't all we hoped for. Mid-afternoon pizza ordered from a local spot was amazing. Ghost tour Saturday night was good. Then qe had supper with our group. 8 of us sitting together and arrived at 830. The 2 salads, kettle chips and onion rings came first, about a half hour after we arrived. Another half hour til the fish n chips, 2 chicken clubs, 1 smash burger and 1 order of small fries came. After making 3 complaints finally at 10pm the last burger came. An hour and a half for our entire group to be served. When it finally came the entire plate was rolm temperature. The cheese was melted on the burger so clearly it was hot at some point before thwy allowed it to cool down and then brought it to mt husband. We get that the resort was full and they were busy, but this time of the evening there were not many, if any other tables being served food. Most tables were at the bar drinking the $14 cocktails. At a resort of this size you expect good, hot, fast food not to sit and wait an hour and a half for a room temperature burger and fries. The rest of pur table were done eating, including dessert, by the time my husband got his food and that is not ok. We heard other complaints from other people about the service and food as well. Didn't meet our expectations.
Since St. Andrews, NB is a bustling little town with shops and a beach you can walk for miles in the summer, that is when everyone thinks to go. Sometimes the brutal New Brunswick winter can take its toll and you just need a little getaway …
We have always wanted to stay at the Algonquin so it was on our bucket list. We were rather disappointed. We have stayed at many resorts and 5 star hotels and really expected this to be one of the most interesting. The hotel is nice enough …
Fun and relaxing family time with our almost 3 year old granddaughter and her parents. We had their puppy along as well and appreciated the adjoining suites. We used all the amenities available for March Break and enjoyed comfortable …
EXCELLENT, we walked and a small issue , and Julia the front desk manager just solved it so well, and then onwards we loved it..
Evrn though my stay at the Algoncquin was amazing, this hotel needs major upgrade. In 2021 there is no reason for carpets in rooms and throughout the hotel. Mini fridge should be standard in all rooms and better lighting as well. This hotel is beautiful but could use some love!
I was there, as a woman, by myself for work. I was locked in my room for a few days, ordering room service, getting take out from Braxton's to take back to my room when room service wasn't available. …
How fortunate are we to have a Marriott Autograph Collection Resort in the province of New Brunswick especially in this time of Covid-19! This wonderful resort is always a treat to the senses and the perfect place to relax in the seaside …
I booked a Jr. Suite on the hotel website's recommendation ("Perfect for families, the guestroom features one plush queen bed with luxurious linens and a spacious living room with sofa bed and mini-fridge.") Well let me tell you just how unsuitable this room is for that very purpose. It could be that the layouts are different in other Jr suites, but ours (Room 359) consisted of a queen bed and sofa bed divided by a partial wall. Imagine yourself spending the night somewhere with your spouse, an infant, and a preschooler, and trying to coordinate naps and sleep without some kind of door. I'll save you the trouble... it doesn't work. As for cleanliness, you'd figure that during COVID-19 this would be a hotel's time to shine. Well, guess what, they didn't: there were beer bottle caps on the floor; a used package of coffee creamer was slotted in with a new one next to the coffee machine; food was stuck to the underside of the sofa cushions; and the hotel's crib netting had brown streaks on the side walls. I also woke up with a rash on my forehead, which, if I had to make an educated guess, came from the hotel's black "makeup remover" face cloth. Just.. so gross. I'd add that a bathtub would be more appropriate for a family-friendly suite than a standing glass shower, but that's just nit-picking. Bottom line is that we had a horrible stay, which we cut short at 6am, resigned to pass up on the breakfast and indoor pool. We obviously won't be returning to this joke of a luxury resort.
We fell in love with this resort! we had two rooms that easily accommodated our family of four plus three family/friends and 2 dogs. This is a really great family-friendly and dog-friendly place to come and get away as a family, it has a …
Julia is one of the friendliest customer service reps I have had the pleasure of dealing with. The check in process was seamless , the staff were all very friendly and the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in.
We had a great experience. The rooms and hotel were immaculate. Loved the comedy entertainment and playing games in the lobby. The experience was great overall. The quality of the food in the restaurant was average, but that could have been the time of day. It was late in the evening. The buffet breakfast was amazing.
Great Christmas stay. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food. Cute little stocking hanging on our door Christmas morning and Christmas crackers at dinner
Was a really nice weekend. Staff was absolutely accommodating and very kind. With Covid restrictions, everything was very well done.
This is our favourite hotel to visit. The hotel is located a short walk from the town of St Andrews and we always love …
It was our first time staying at the Algonquin but it won’t be our last! Staff was helpful and friendly, accommodations were comfortable and clean and my children felt like they were staying in a castle! The food was a bit pricey, but it was delicious. Overall, I have zero complaints with our stay.
Hi, I go to the Resort in St. Andrews quite a bit in the summer & fall as much a I can with my daughter. Its relaxing, the parking lot has been full & it was again on Monday, but no one around in the lounge, everyone keeping their distance, which is good in these times....on a nice Sunny cool day,it's nice to be in St.Andrews & the Resort!!!
We went down for a bit of a covid getaway. Although it was off season, it was still a wonderful relaxing trip. Staff was more than helpful and their attention to detail helped us feel safe. Highly recommended!
Don't let "The Autograph Collection" symbol fool you. Today's Algonquin Resort is not the resort of yesteryear, which was rich in history, sophisticated, charming, and hosted luminaries from both sides of the border. Those days are gone. …
Atmosphere was excellent room was great. Food was lack lustre. Morning breakfast was extremely slow snd very shaky when it came to gluten free options. My daughter and I both got sick from breakfast. Braxtons on night was very good for …
it was our first trip to Algonquin resort, we were travelling with our 9 lb bichon frise Summer. The hotel is lovely! I wonderful combination of old and new luxury. The front desk staff were very nice. We were in room 1107 and even our dog …
We went for a wine and food pairing by the executive chef. The food and wine and service was amazing. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and as always amazing views.
I have been a guest at the Algonquin in the past. I truly enjoy the atmosphere in and around the resort. My only complaint, for lack of a better word, is that there is not shuttle service offered for guests from the St. John airport.
My family spends numerous nights a year at the Algonquin Resort because it is an incredible place for families to unwind and have fun! It's close to downtown St. Andrews which is also a wonderful area to visit with lots to do!
I liked it a lot! Though the people who I was with didn’t that much, I did and I respect their opinion because they have good reasoning. The food was really good, and I really liked the pool/slide! Tho olny issue was it was very busy, though that’s not their fault.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful and unlike any other place you have probably stayed. The amenities such as the indoor and outdoor pools are very nice as well. Service by the staff was great. I thought the food was average for the prices …
A very enjoyable one night getaway for my wife and me. We enjoyed St. Andrews, the hotel, the food, the service. We'll be back.
This was a perfect family getaway! The pool with the slide is awesome for the little kids! The rooms were spotless and very spacious! The staff accommodated our request to have rooms close together with our friends. We will return for sure!
We booked and stayed for the valentines package. The dinning experience was very poor. The food was served cold and very low quality. The dining room was not staffed properly as it took 3 hours for our complete meal. I never write reviews …
The Algonquin is one of the most magical places I have ever stayed at. The hotel staff are amazing and make you feel like you are at home as soon as you walk in. The ghost walk is an amazing way to find out the history of the hotel. The …
This is a great historic hotel! A wonderful place to stay. We were able to easily walk to the Kingsbrae Gardens and the Waterfront. Rooms are nicely decorated and the public spaces are unique and beautiful. The ladies in our group especially liked the kilted Bellmen! Lunch in the lounge was delicious and reasonably priced, as was the breakfast buffet. The only disappointment was the "fine dining" restaurant. The food was good but nothing special, and the atmosphere was hectic, with servers rushing around feverishly all evening. Our party agreed that the experience was not fine, and the price was high for what was delivered. Next time we will have dinner at a restaurant on the Waterfront. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay and we plan to visit again.
Amazing location to visit the area with easy access to so many activities: whale watching, strolling the village, Minister’s island, golf, tennis and swimming.
