The bright side of this challenging year has been discovering and supporting more local businesses in my neighborhood. I'm so thrilled to have found Shopboy and am disappointed in myself that I hadn't found them sooner. The shop is chic and clean (booking online is seamless), the owners are so welcoming and the tailoring is impeccable. I tasked them with altering a complicated silk dress and it turned out exactly as I had pictured and truly fit my body like a glove. The dress has since received several compliments and when asked where I got it, it feels very special to know that it's the only one of its kind thanks to working with Shopboy. *Blown away* by the quality. I brought in 1 pair of leather pants: split at the crotch step, knee lining blown out, and unfinished at the hem -- basically NOT wearable anymore. 1 pair of drawstring leisure pants I was gifted in size M (I'm an XS): also unfinished and because they were so long, one of the heels had a rip. 1 dress I bought in a size S: it might as well have been a size L. Results: Leather pants are wearable again. Leisure pants not only got fixed at the hem but the tailor also took in the the entire waistline and crotch step so they fit me perfectly (didn't ask for that, super impressed he pulled it off without measuring me.) And the dress? All I can say is WOW. No simple dart-and-stitch situation. They basically had to reconstruct the entire thing given what I needed (detach the bodice from the skirt, shrink the bodice, reattach to skirt w/o shrinking the skirt.) It was done superbly well. Will be back! I'm not a review-leaver, but this place deserves all the praise it can get.
