I had an amazing experience at Lockhart's! My appointment was yesterday, it was my first time trying on wedding dresses and I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Going into the appointment I was nervous I may feel overwhelmed but that was definitely not the case! I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout the entire process. Edit: My name is Holly, I was in mid June. I wasn't overly thrilled with the service here. I found a beautiful dress, but I felt rushed and like the woman truly didn't care about making it a special experience for me, apart from a couple moments. I'd been following on ig for a couple months seeing lemonade outside advertised, and that there would be a champagne toast if I got the dress, but I didn't receive any of this. I was told there would be no champagne because of covid, even though it had been advertised in the ig story during covid only a month prior . I really didn't feel special at all until I saw myself in the dress I picked. I didn't have my family or friends with me, so it was rather sad that I had to feel this way. It was a very monotone experience with zero enthusiasm from the employee. You Claim you only started serving lemonade outside a month ago when it was shown in an ig story the week prior to my appointment in mid June. (2 months ago)

Oh my goodness! Where to start...... Sherry is amazingly easy to talk to, she listens and is very supportive in helping with details we may not think of. And now for Pete for Black Tie...... he outfitted my 3 sons from the shoes on their feet to the tie around their necks and let me tell you, as a mother and a new bride.... the most emotional moment was when I saw them all standing there waiting to walk me down the isle. I left them in your very capable hands Pete and you did not disappoint at all. They all commented on how great you were and how easy you made the process for them. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart.They stole the show and that was quite ok it’s me. Definitely worth 2 thumbs up from us.

I came to Lockharts with my wedding 2 months away, 4.5 months pregnant, needing a dress that was going to accommodate my growing bump (and other bits that come with it), that didn’t need to be ordered, or need extreme alterations due to obvious time constraints, and didn’t cost a fortune, considering the teeny tiny, simple nature of our wedding. Sherry was absolutely amazing! Very helpful and determined to get me my perfect dress. Although I did go slightly over budget, I am absolutely in love with my dress and cannot wait to walk her down the aisle!

Where to begin... From the moment we arrived at Lockhart's I knew I was in for a special experience. Everything was so personal - the setting, the house, how Sherry helped me in and out of each dress while providing me with a big fluffy white robe to wear in between... the list could go on. Sherry is so knowledgeable, encouraging and truly wants you to feel beautiful from the inside out. I felt like I knew right away when I found "the one" (and I think she did too) but I still wanted the rest of the day to think about it, which she was absolutely okay with and even offered to keep the shop open late for me if I wanted to come back. I called her back later that afternoon and she kept the shop open for us past the closing time. I tried on the dress again and the moment I put it on in the dressing room, we both knew it was truly the one. When I went out to look at the dress again with my guests, she got me to close my eyes. She carefully put the veil on me and when I opened, it was a pure YES as tears streamed down myself and my guests' faces! Sherry then came out with a bottle of champagne, we popped it and said YES to the DRESS as she poured us all a drink! I could not have asked for a more intimate and celebratory experience on a day I have always dreamed of. Thank you for making my dreams come true, Lockhart's!

I had a great experience when I went to buy my dress in December! But unfortunately I did not have the same experience when picking it up & trying it on when it arrived. The same woman helped me both times, the first time she was lovely & excited for me to go wedding dress shopping, it was wonderful! When I went to pick it up 8 months later, I had gained a little bit of weight (I wasn’t worried about it) & the dress didn’t zip (I still wasn’t worried).. but she treated me so poorly saying there wasn’t anything that could be done with the dress. Though I didn’t ask for a solution… I said it’s okay & I’ll fit into it when I need to. She then said there was no refunds … but I didn’t want to return it? She made me feel worse for the situation than necessary, I had already bought the dress so maybe because she wasn’t making money from my visit she wasn’t interested? I’m unsure. I love my dress!! But I didn’t love my experience.

We can’t say enough good things about Lockhart’s. Owner Sherry made this nerve wracking thought into the BEST experience! Seeing an ad on Facebook while passing through the area, I stopped in to check it out, hoping we could get in without an appointment. Before we were even on the walk-way, the door opened and we were greeted with such welcoming, friendliness; as if we were family arriving home. Sherry, made us feel like family, as well as her good friend that has worked with her for years (can’t remember his name). We laughed so much, and cried happy tears. Before I even looked, Sherry instantly turned around in the blink of an eye with 4 wedding dresses for me that she knew would suit me. Without even taking a peak, I tried them on with trust in her wisdom. She made it very comfortable and so simple with the fitting. Sure enough - each dress seemed meant for me. Even styled me up with jewelry and vails with such ease and simplicity so quickly before I even realized she had done so... each addition absolutely beautiful to match the different styles of dresses. Within about 10 minutes I said YES to the dress and they created an instant celebration with champagne, music and all. I left with the dress packed and in hand! SO easy! PERFECT atmosphere. EXCELLENT prices. GREAT quality. AMAZING service! THANK YOU! We will definitely see you again!

Wish I could give negative stars. Shouldn't recommend people to like you on social media or review you when you don't do your job sufficiently.

From the moment I walked into Lockhart’s Weddings, I was not made to feel welcome. Instead, it was made clear that I should not have scheduled a fitting until closer to the wedding date when I was ready to purchase. Upon booking the appointment, I knew that my wedding was approximately 12 months away and my measurements would likely change during that time so it would not be wise to purchase a dress until approximately 6-9 months prior to the date. My intention was to enjoy an evening of trying on dress styles to see what I liked and include my future mother-in-law to share in our joy. Instead, our first interaction left me feeling embarrassed for wasting everyone’s time. The owner initially asked me a number of questions, including the date of my wedding, approximate size, what styles I preferred, and my budget. However, almost 2 weeks prior I had spent considerable time completing a detailed online survey asking me all of these same questions in preparation for the appointment. It was evident that she knew none this information in advance and did not take the time to read my survey. If she had been aware of the details, perhaps she could have called me to recommend postponing my appointment. After the shock of our initial interaction where I was told “well, we could still try on a few dresses if you like”, I decided to make the most of our evening together. I was offered 3 dresses to try on based on my preferences. The fitting room experience was very controlled and restricted, but this may have been due to new pandemic requirements. Much to my dismay, one of the dresses placed in my dressing room was at least 3 sizes too small, so far off in size that I could not even try it on. I left feeling supersized, defeated, and very disappointed. Weddings are supposed to be exciting so why wouldn’t brides want to find their dream dress, or at least a style they like, well in advance? It is a uniquely special time and I would have expected the shop owner to share my joy or at least be understanding and supportive of this process. Five months ago, I had visited 3 other establishments where staff were attentive, complimentary, and I was so well cared for. At no time did I ever experience anything close to this. I will never return to Lockhart’s Weddings and I would not recommend this business to anyone.

My experience at Lockhart's was what every girl dreams of. I had all my loved ones come and witness the joy on my face as I picked the perfect dress for me. The journey to find "the dress" was so easy with the help of the girls working. I valued their choices and opinions when pulling dresses for me. After saying "yes" and celebrating with champagne, my bridesmaids then tried on dresses. It was like sister hood of the travelling pants, the dress look amazing on each one. I've never heard so many compliments on bridemaid dresses before at my wedding. The color was so beautiful on each girl. We also got out tuxes for all the groomsmen. A couple of the groomsmen needed different sizes once they came in, but their service was awesome and new sizes came in quickly. The men all looked so handsome. The colors matched perfectly with the bridesmaid dresses. Thank you to everyone at Lockhart's who made my wedding party look amazing!

She has a lovely variety of dresses and provided me with gorgeous options within my price range. When I found THE dress, Sherry made sure to make the moment so special by setting the mood with the perfect love songs, giving us a glass of bubbly, and making it all real by providing veil and accessory options. She truly did a FABULOUS job. I would 100% recommend Lockhart’s to anyone and I hope to return to look for bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses! Even with the Covid-19 restrictions, it was still a fabulous experience having my family there in the shop and my out-of-province girlfriends there over video chat. This was such a lovely experience saying “yes” to the dress at Lockhart’s! The shop is so adorably decorated and Sherry puts thought into the smallest of details that make a great impact— from the cold pink lemonade on the front porch upon arrival and the little boxes of candy, to the comfortable slippers to slide into upon walking in to explore the dresses. After I was certain I found my dress, Sherry put a veil and some jewelry on me and surprised me by playing the song that my fiancé had proposed to. Such a special day & great memory!

Lockharts Bridal met all those expectations and much more. I had the opportunity to go to bridal shops in Toronto, Vancouver, Moncton, and Los Angeles California. Lockhart's is my favourite out of all the bridal shops I have been to. My experience at Lockharts was magical. I have never felt so important as a bride and was treated like I was very important. The owner Sherry is the sweetest and truly will go out of her way for a bride!! I had never met Sherry but she treated me like I have known her my entire life. All other staff at Lockharts are so friendly and caring. I had the opportunity to try on many dresses at Lockharts and all of them were beautiful!! I ended up falling in love with the dress that I thought I would fall in love with. Sherry and the designer made this all happen and I am so grateful to them! Lockharts has this feel that is so welcoming, and I love how each changing room is so private. Trying on dresses can be nerve racking so having an actual room is such a great feature. My mother and my bridesmaids also loved the experience we had! I cannot say enough, I highly recommend Lockharts! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful while purchasing my wedding dress and accessories. The only comment I would like to make is, brides should be asked to sit down in their dress to ensure it's comfortable while they're trying on dresses. I never would have thought of that trying it on, but my seamstress asked me once my dress came in, and I barely could!! So I am hoping her alterations will allow me to be comfortable during dinner.

I had a modest budget and didn't think I would find many options, but was surprised to find there was plenty of choices. I came in with an idea of the dress I wanted, and ended up leaving with something completely opposite of what I envisioned. Sherry knew me better than I knew myself and found my dream gown :) A fun, laid-back experience and able to accommodate a wide range of budgets. Would highly recommend.

Sherry and Jayne! Power duo. I had the best experience at Lockharts this past Friday, Aug 24th/18. I had a large party of ladies with me, and they accommodated us with comfortable seating, A/C and champagne! ???????? Sherry has an exceptional eye for detail and really listens and offers great advice when picking out your wedding dress! I can’t thank Sherry enough for helping me in and out of the beautiful gowns! Jayne, thank-you for finding my bridesmaids the perfect dress as well! We all had so much fun. Can’t wait to return and watch my friends pick out their wedding dresses. We will be back!

Where to start!! I had such an amazing experience at Lockhart's! Sherry is amazing and really listens to what you want. She is respectful of your budget, but also provides you options without overstepping. The shop itself is so sweet. Very clean and inviting! I loved the music and the personalities of everyone involved! I had a pretty big group with me (seven) and they were very accommodating. Everyone felt included and welcomed. I had such a great time at Lockhart’s. I was super nervous to go dress shopping at first, but the staff are so kind and welcoming. Once I was actually there, the nerves were totally gone. I really felt listened to about what I wanted and didn’t feel pressured or rushed at all. They were so good at helping find dresses for me that I ended up buying the first dress I tried on. All the dresses I tried on after that were absolutely beautiful too, but it was definitely love at first sight with that one. It just felt right. I couldn’t stop smiling and staring at the dress once I was back in it to finally say “yes”. Lockhart’s helped make me feel so special. When we left, everyone that came with me was raving about how nice the place was, the beautiful dresses, and the amazing staff. It was 100% worth the drive to Sussex, and I would highly recommend coming here to find your dress!
