I bought an affordable suit for my wedding day and it didn't quite fit my frame perfectly. I took it to Stitch It at Metrotown and I was helped in a professional manner, I was asked for my opinion, and the woman (sorry, didn't get her name) also suggested I take the sleeves of the shirt and jacket up. My suit was ready for pickup sooner than expected, and the woman and James were there to greet me. James was wonderful, told me I looked like a whole new man, and packed my suit up for me. Wonderful service and outcome, and it was way more affordable than I had even imagined! I basically got a custom tailored suit for an amazing price, and experience. I've already referred a few friends to get their clothes altered there too

Dropped off three pairs of pants to get hemmed. Was told pick up time 6-7pm the following day. 7pm were arrived.. was told they just started them -come back in 45-60 mins. Came back in 60-still not done.. please wait 15 more minutes. Looks like the last time we use this service. I understand a tailor in Pendale, across the street are better. Now I know. Too bad-we used to swear by them

Worst experience ever!!!!! Do NOT Go There unless you wanna pay for any mistake they make !!!! I send my Canada Goose to Pen Center's Stitch It to get a dry clean. When I get my coat back, I realized that my coat is ruined. My Canada Goose is a red one, however, when I get it back, the color of many part of the coat has turned to white !!! I was very upset, and talked to the manager. However, the manager, Dawn Lloyd, was very rude. She said that Stitch it just dropped my coat to another dry cleaner, Stitch it does't do any dry clean, so Stitch it does NOT have ANY RESPONSIBILITY ! " I paid dry clean fee to Stitch it, and get receipt from Stitch it. But now Dawn Lloyd doesn't wanna help me solve this problem ! There is a sentence on Stitch it's receipt:" Quality Guarantee: If we cannot fix it, we will buy it back. Dry cleaning- If we cannot fix it, 10X cost of cleaning." They have customer service guarantee on their website and receipt, but now the manager,Dawn Lloyd, is very rude and doesn't wanna do anything !!!!

I had my zipper change on my coat and I couldn't be more happy. She gave me a lot of choice and provided suggestion for the best quality. I definitely recommend them to anyone who need work done. My coat also smelled fresh and was so soft. I think they might have dry cleaned it as well.

The staff at this location are truly wonderful. I've taken a few garments to them in the past few months and they were able to repair all of them with ease. Do not go to this place ! Literally turned dress pants into capris ! took them in over a week prior to us needing them , go to pick them up which was already a hassle since they blew up my phone yesterday telling us "oh can you pick up later in the afternoon" when we needed them for this morning as we have a wedding out of town , bring them home and boom we get f****** capris. They're so unorganized ! Completely unprofessional! And now we are most likely going to be late for the wedding since we have to rush around looking for new pants!????

Had to sew patches on my uniform and needed it for the next day. The person said it won't be ready until the next day that I specified (which was Thursday). So I took a day off from work because they had my uniform. They called me around 4pm saying that it wasn't ready, when the receipt they gave me and they said that it would be available for pick up for today at 8pm. So they said it would be ready for 1pm tomorrow. I told them I am unable to pick it up as I have school. So now I have to pick it up on Saturday. They specifically said it would be ready today at 8pm. They should either get more people to work there so they can finish on the time they said it would be ready or stop being lazy and do the ones that are supposed to be finished early. Never going here to sew things on my clothes ever again.

I am absolutely unimpressed. This has more to do with their customer service. I only called to inquire an estimated cost to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed. She informed me it would be $25 and up. She asked what kind of dress and I told her it was a bridesmaid dress. She kept on repeating "bride dress" and I corrected her that it was a bridesmaid dress that only had two layers. I could hear her asking another co-worker about the price and she continued to say "that's what I told her" and hung up. Absolutely unimpressed with the phone call and will not be using their services. UPDATE: I decided to go in and use their services giving them the benefit of a doubt... And it was definitely not a pleasant experience. To hem a dress was absolutely too expensive and they do not really communicate with you. I asked for a suggestion and I got nothing from her. In the end I took my dress elsewhere. Not impressed. Definitely need work on customer relations.

OMG! Can’t believe how unknowledgeable the reception person I met today! All I asked was to stitch my Lycra cycling bib shorts near the chamois/seating area; the reply was I can’t because that kind of fabric stitching would break the sewing machine needle! What? I’m not asking you to stitch the Chamois (2 layers of soft fabric) to the Lycra ? She didn’t even to listen to me instead she referred me to a shoe maker shop to do that stitching. I Don’t whether that person was even a tailor in the first place? I feel sorry for the owner who employs such staff ...

I have used these folks many times to alter clothing used for work. They have done an excellent job tailoring uniforms, pants, Kevlar vests and other garments. Highly recommended!

They ripped my jacket pocket during their tailoring process and wouldn't fix it because it wasn't related to the services I initially paid for. I asked them to repair it and was told that it would be a separate charge -- for damage resulting from their error! Despite my protests, they denied any wrongdoing and were unapologetic and confrontational in defending their faults, telling me it was my fault even though I haven't worn the jacket from the time they "fixed" it for me initially. Their services are mediocre at bested atrocious at worst and the convenience of their location does not outweigh the egregious customer service and expensive rates. "Disappointed" doesn't even begin to describe my attitude towards this business.

We had a wedding this summer, it was less than a week away and Dawn said to bring it in and they'd get it done. My dress had a lot of detailed sequence, but her team was able to get it done on time and they did an awesome job. They also fixed my daughters maid of honour dress, she had used the woman at Stitch It at the Fairview mall for her alterations. I would not recommend her at all, she was rude and grumpy and needless to say did a half done job since Dawn's team had to stitch, tuck and gather. Plus when I decided to pick up my dress because I didn't trust Stitch at the Fairview Mall with it after seeing my daughters dress, she wasn't going to give me my money back and she hadn't even started on it yet. Dawn did it for a better price and her team were so nice, I would highly recommend them.

Brought in a suit that no longer fit as snug as I wanted. The seamstress showed me where they would bring it in and costs. Just picked up the suit and it is like a whole new suit at a fraction of the cost. Everything fits perfectly, even better than it did when I first bought it. I brought jeans in to be hemmed and taper, they didn't taper them. When I brought them back to be fixed, I was told it would be another $20. I asked that they not charge me and was told a manager would have to decide. I let them know to call me if I was going to be charged. They never called and never tapered the jeans. They just held onto them for a week and now I'm left with jeans I still cannot wear.

BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I came here to drop off his shirt for dry cleaning and 2 dresses to be altered. The lady who initially helped us was wonderful, she took my measurements and made helpful suggestions on how to best alter an old dress to be more modern. However when it came time to pick everything up 1 of the dresses was unaltered with the pins still in. The same initial lady was there and offered to quickly fix it and have it back to us within 15 minutes and sincerely applogized. My husband's shirt and the other dress were fine and we took those home with no issue. We didn't need the other dress right away so my husband returned a few days later to pick it up and when it was brought out there was a coupon attached for a complimentary service. My husband checked over the dress to be sure it was completed and while the alterations were done this time, the dress now had black marks on it and what looks like coffee stain spills! He pointed this out to the woman behind the desk, who was a different person this time, and she took the dress back, looked it over and told him the stains must have been there before. My husband tried to reason with her but she flat out refused to acknowledge the problem with the stains and told him he must now pay extra to get the stains removed. My husband took the dress and left and explained to me when he got home everything that had happened, only for us to also discover the woman behind the counter had also stolen the coupon! I now have to pay extra to get the dress dry cleaned at another location on top of everything else we paid for. Don't bother wasting your money , time and beautiful clothing at this location, you will only get ripped off!

These women just made my night!!! I had been scrambling to get ready for a friend's wedding in Michigan and I had gave them a dress I purchased online to be altered. One thing after the other kept happening ALL WEEK and when I finally came to pick up dress flustered because my mani/pedi appointment in the mall fell through (go figure!), they had noticed some work that I hadn't originally ask for when I tried the dress back on. I told them not to worry and to hang on to the dress while I tried to find another nail appointment in the mall but that fell through as well (Haha just my luck!). I must have been all of 10 minutes and when I came back they had cinched up the side for no extra charge. WHAT A LOVELY SURPRISE! The dress fits perfectly and not to mention that it was complicated due to so many sequins! I will definitely return and recommend anyone to go there. Amazing work. Thank you Stitch It!

I brought in an expensive ball gown that was not tailored properly by the person I went to before. It started ripping and there was issues with how it was fitting. I was so stressed and annoyed. Horrible. Don't waste your time or money. I called ahead of time to ask how long a dress hem usually took. The gentleman on the phone said it could be done the next day no problem. When I arrived I waited in line for about 20 minutes before I was assisted, as they had one person on staff measuring and helping customers. When I was finished being measured I mentioned that i would need my dress back the next day, and I wanted to confirm that was still fee sable. The woman rolled her eyes and looked frustrated. I explained that's what I had been told on the phone and she didn't look impressed. She asked I pay up front so I did- I thought she said "15 dollars". It wasn't until I had left, I realized my receipt said $50. I couldn't believe it- this had to be a mistake. The last time I had something hemmed it cost $9. Furthermore, my receipt said the dress was chiffon material. This dress was as cheap and polyester as they come. I paid $25 for it. I checked out the stitch it website where I read that hemming ranges from $15-$25. Ok, I thought, she simply made an error. When I went back to pick up my dress, I presented my receipt and ask it be reviewed because clearly I was over charged. The woman's demeanor instantly changed, she became snappy and defensive. She started by saying they do not have a price list on their website- yes, you do. She then said my dress was wide, and that is why it was more expensive. I can assure you, this dress is not "wide". She then said the dress was probably double lined. I said it is not- you can get it from the back and see for yourself. She finally went to get my dress and said "well they had to do a double stitch and that is more expensive." Yet I was charged before the hemming was even done? I said despite all this, it was rung into the system as chiffon, which is a more complicated and delicate material than polyester. She insisted the double stitching and "wideness" of my dress caused a $50 bill. That evening I attended a wedding and got on the topic of hemming. Every other woman that had a dress hemmed had paid in the ballpark of $9-$16 for hem job much more complicated than mine. Buyer beware- I am disgusted and would never return.

I've been to this location for a couple of years now and this is the only place I trust with my clothes for alterations and cleaning. The ladies are lovely, professional and accommodating. I've been in situations where I needed my clothes the next day and they delivered with the same quality as always and I really appreciate that. Their work is clean and they are quick. Absolutely Terrible. First they tell me to come back a few days later after 6pm. I come the day after the day it was supposed to be ready and they haven't even done the work yet. Then I come a couple days later to pick up my $350.00 down hoodie that needed a new zipper and when I get it home I realized that all the stitching around the zipper area is loose and hanging off. I paid $65.00 for that? A five year old could do better. I normally go to best stitches upstairs in the Burlington mall but they were closed at the time. Best stitches is way way better. I will never go back to these idiots. BUYER BEWARE

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A TAILOR EVER! DO NOT GET YOUR ALTERATIONS HERE. I had a Victoria Secret Bikini altered here on June 24, 2020 and when I got it home i realized the bikini had been cut in the wrong place and sewed back together backwards and twisted! I called the store to complain and the women was SO RUDE. Could have done a better job myself with kitchen scissors and a sewing needle. Save your money.

I think this place is great! I come here all the time and have been a customer for 3+ years as I usually do most of my shopping at Fairview Mall. I know there are probably a lot of other alteration places around, but the friendly staff that work here are experts that produce quality work -- I know exactly what to expect every time. I know the price point isn't the best in all of GTA, but the convenience of it being located at the mall right off the highway and me not having to drive to another place just to get things altered definitely plays a factor for me. Last Thursday, I went in during the afternoon to get two pairs of pants hemmed. I asked if I could get it done on the same day and they were able to turn it around within 2 hours. This was amazing because it was Black Friday week and they were more busy than usual. It was kind of a lifesaver as well for that last minute outfit purchase. I would recommend this place to my friends because I know they won't be disappointed, but agree that the price point could be better. However, for the little extra money you're paying, you get quality work and materials plus the convenience.

Honestly.. I dont give very many reviews about specific people within establishments, more so about the overall but Matthew is a true artist. I had a blazer and four pants dropped off, two of which were under a time crunch. He tailored the blazer perfectly, when I wore it to the wedding it was so heavily complimented and noticed by everyone. The pictures were heavily watched on the social media platforms I posted them on. I was definitely feeling my oats in the look. I searched high and low for someone to fix the other pants and have them look great as i was told they couldn't be fixed. I would HIGHLY recommend him. I will be seeing him again.

Expensive and I guess they’re always busy because they told me it would be one week til pick up, when I said I’ll go somewhere else they said I can pick up tomorrow. Over all I was dissatisfied with the service and I will not be taking back any clothing for alterations Came back an extra day after pick up was supposed to be, waited over 10 minutes for the lady to find my pants, she pulled them down and said they are not ready and I should come back in one hour. Pretty inconvenient since I only came to the mall to get my pants. Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. You’re better off finding a small alteration place that doesn’t take on more than they can handle

Wanted me to pay beforehand to alter my dress despite their policy which says you can pay at pick up (and others also paying at pick up) then chasing me down the mall after I picked it up because they forgot I already paid. I really wish I wasn't in such a rush and had time to find a better place. For one, I was basically fought with over what I WANT the length of my dress to be. Knowing I would only be wearing heels for a short while I requested getting a bit more of my dress hemmed but I was told "No. No. This is good." I dont think my point of not wearing my shoes for long was getting across. The price for what I got cut off was ridiculous. 67$ for not even getting what I wanted cut off was just dumb. Considering I personally know someone with the exact same style of dress only paid 45$. But of course, I was dumb and left my options to a minimum and didn't have time to look around. I will never come back to stich it and I will never recommend it to anyone.

Overpriced and not what I asked. I was charged $45 to shorten my suit jacket sleeves by less than an inch. When I went to pick up the jacket, it was not enough as I’d asked. When asked if more could be taken off to my original needs, I was told it could not be done because where they pinned it is all they are able to do, which I was told would be enough. NEVER RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS BUSINESS. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO STITCH A NOTCH. I dropped 3 shirts for simple alterations. It was still brand new and imported. I paid for purchase and for import tax. Two of them were long and just needed to get them shorter at two different levels for front and back. I explained what I need and the lady put pins and I made sure that they knew what I wanted. When picked them I found that they have cut them at same level then get a piece of that part and stitch it back. Why would you cut it like that at the first place??? One of shirts were not even at front and is already cut shorter than I requested. That can’t be fixed it is already shorter than the other side. So poorly done! Never recommend!

I don't even want to give my experience a star. I was told to come back the next day when the semestress was working, which I had no issue with. I came back the next day (today) and the semestress was on her way out the door even though I was told she would be there until 5:00. She passed me off to an employee who aimlessly just stuck a pin in the dress not taking into consideration what it would look like. This did obviously not work so the employee proceeded to tell me that the dress just didn't fit me and I could wait for the semestress tomorrow and she could add material but that it would cost me a lot of money. It sum it all up I would never recommend Stitch It as the employees are rude and do not have the time of day for paying customers. I took my business elsewhere and got the amazing results that I wanted.

When I picked it up I decided that I didn’t like that experience very much, so I brought the rest to this location. The service I received here was professional, courteous, and quick. The Service is atrocious, rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER go back! When I showed them the horrible job they did the only answer they gave was " the machine is old, so it's the machines fault" the manager said " I won't give you your money back!" Save time and money- DONT GO HERE! Unless you want sleeves that are different lengths.

Thank you!!! I called ahead on Saturday to repair a zipper on my Parka. Turns out there is more than one "Stitch It" in Metrotown (I mistakenly went to the location near Old Navy). Not only did they match the quote I was given, they also matched the timeframe (1 hr). Quite a feat when there was a line up and the were obviously slammed. I dont live on the mainland and didn't know a good tailor but needed my winter jacket fixed before heading back to the island. Not only were they kind and honest (price/time matching) they did an absolutely beautiful job, not a single stitch out of place! Thank you so very much!!!

I have been using the Stitch It location at The Pen Centre for a couple of years now and they do exceptional work. Not once have I had to return an item to be redone, as it is perfect the first time, every time. The prices are fair and the service is very efficient. Turnaround time on a job is almost always met, and the one time it wasn't they had it ready within minutes of my arrival. Most times I am served and measured by Dawn, who is always pleasant and informed about what needs to be done. I rely on her judgement always, which is unerring. I was nervous having my $600.00 dress altered because I needed the dress taken in and fitted for the the bottom half of the dress, hemmed shorter and the zipper at the back which was difficult to get a perfect fix because it stuck out at the bottom and wouldnt lay flat. Absolutely awful service. I came to this place to fix a small dent on my jacket sleeve. Lady took it first time and made a stitch near the dent, she didn’t cover it. She took the jacket second time and made a huge stitch on the half of the sleeve. It’s not even straight. I would better keep the dent then have this kind of ‘repair’. I brought my expensive pant to be fixed they ddidn' do a good job. So I brought it back and the lady a Chinese lady said that she would fixed it and she did when she gave it back to me she said "NEXT TIME DONT COME AND COMPLAINT LIKE RHAT TO GET A FREE JOB DONE " I WAS SO UPSET IM STILL UPSET I told her that I have the money to pay her that I don't need to complaint to get something for free . She said that the job done before costed 5 bucks when I actually paid $11 . After getting upset and telling her if she liked it I would pay it she stayed quiet . You have a store because of us the customers . If you tratt your custstcus like that what can we expect from the service . I would never come back here . I wish I would have never been. I would have preferred to pay those 11 dollars to someone to treat their customers better . Be careful people don't even bother to go there .

Pricey, but maybe this is average. $55 to take in a dress, $45 to change a zipper. There was a huge line and sadly there was only one person working. Long wait. When I showed up a week later for my scheduled pick up time, the seamstress was still sewing. I had to wait another 30 minutes. Great job on the dress. The zipper looked great ... but it was thin and cheap. Didn’t zip easily, and it split down the middle and broke. She had to cut it out. Thankfully, she replaced it with a thicker zipper without charging me additionally, and it was ready the next day. Final product was great.

I have gone to many tailors and alteration shops over the years, and I would definitely have to say that most experiences were lacklustre, at best. The first time that I tried out Stitch-it, inside of Metrotown, I had just picked up a few jackets and pants from around the mall, all of which required a number of alterations. Blindly trusting tailors that I have never worked with before was a stretch for me, but the convenience was too good to pass up. A week later, I arrived to pick up the lot of garments left in their care, and I was extremely satisfied with their workmanship. Having this positive experience in hand, I developed a very good relationship with the gentleman, James Nguyen, and worked with him on a number of the wardrobe additions that followed. The atmosphere that James and his coworkers create, is one of positivity, filled with bubbliness from start to finish. This vibe, in addition to the staff's exceptional work and effort put in to making me feel and look my best, compels me to very easily recommend James & Stitch-It. I look forward to working with them again soon!

I was greeted by an extremely friendly person, I believe his name is Will, and we discussed what I wanted along with the woman who would do the work. AVOID THIS PLACE.Terrible. Brought in 2 pairs of pants that each just needed 1 leg re-hemmed, got charged for 2 legs on both pants - they said that they needed to do that for inventory reasons. Their employees have to keep certain numbers when it comes to their processing so they cut corners and overcharge their costumers in order to keep them. Being a short person who's lost and gained weight, I've used this Stitches location since I moved in across the street from the mall over 3 years ago. Everything has come back well hemmed or stitched or fixed properly. But it's the little things, like today, I took in a pair of good leggings in as there was a small hole (not even a quarter inch) in the seam at the back. Not know how to sew with stretchable thread, I didn't want to fix this on my own, so bit the bullet to pay to have it done. Well what a surprise, it was such a small repair, they said, just wait a few minutes and we do it for free. So thank you, it's the little repairs that they do for free that count in addition to their existing services.

Another place charged me only $15 fo the same work you wanted to charge $75. Originally I chose stitch it purely because of the quick turnaround time in comparison to other seamstresses - but in the end I couldn't have been happier with every aspect of service. Not only did they do an amazing job, they also noticed and repaired one of the dresses that had a default. The owner Dawn - I can't say enough about. She made the entire process stress-free and easy - which is what I needed with my upcoming wedding. Dawn was there up until the very last minute (literally) when I needed her for a last minute fix. I was extremely unimpressed with my first and last experience at Stitch it. On Monday, August 21, 2017, I patiently waited for approximately 15 minutes in the store, before the woman working even acknowledged my existence. Then, once I am able to tell her what I need done, she immediately says that she cannot do what I need done and to take it to a professional. No explanation as to why she can't do it, recommendations, etc. Is she not a professional? I take something to a seamstress to get altered and I am rejected and told to take it to a professional. This woman clearly lacks both customer service and alteration skills.

Terrible place. I visited to get my clothes alterated, when i first entered the store, they didn't t even bother to greet customer, they were just busy what they were doing. It was very awkward standing until i get their attention from even one of them to ask a question. I went in the fitting room by myself. The white lady in a short hair(light ash brown), she came up to me and i explained her in which way i want my clothes to be alterated and asked if they could do it for me. She doesn't want to hear about it. She just want to do it the way she wants. I think to do this job, sometimes you need to listen and negotiate with the customer for the best result, not just saying NO. Talking to each other, looking at me like i'm dumb and know nothing about alteration. And now i have visited other alteration store and they could do it for me with excellent customer service and professional skills. Stitch it is a big company but with all those bad reviews. I didn't know that i would write a review until i visited the store, but now i understood why. I think herself and her coworkers on that day who gave attitude, should need to think about their attitude for future customers.
