Excellent customer service, they even work after hours to make sure you have a wonderful experience! A local bridal shop ordered my bridesmaid dress two sizes too small and I received the dress less than a week before the wedding. I took my dress into Glenwood South Tailors and from the start they helped decrease my stress from a 10 to a 0. Brian drove to two bridal shops in Raleigh and Durham and spoke with management in order to help advocate for getting my dress in the proper size in order to make for a beautiful bridesmaid dress. The picture I shared is from my best friend's wedding, which I nicknamed "the potato sack from Hell," that Brian so skillfully transformed into an extremely flattering garment. I also want to acknowledge Natalie, who was instrumental in reducing my bridal gown two sizes to make it the perfect fit for me! As a bride, I understand the love a woman has for her gown, and Natalie's talent and perfectionist nature came through for the win. Final shout out to Amy because I just love her! Brian's business is the best, and I'm going to tell you exactly why.. :) They accommodate me with complete respect to my schedule, and they meet my needs in a timely fashion. I get texts and emails confirming appointments, which I super appreciate. With each series of appointments, I meet with the same team member(s) so my experience is always consistent, and the work is carried out with the utmost quality. The services are priced very fairly. Custom suits are their specialty, so for some garments, such as my bridal gown, the services are priced a bit under market. Make no mistake, the work is not cheap. I've entrusted them with about $2500 worth of garments since meeting them in July, and they've done outstanding work. The atmosphere is fun-loving, good energy, and the people treat you like family. I highly recommend Glenwood South Tailors and Alterations!

Glenwood South Tailors + Alterations are THE place to go for your work! They did an excellent job on a bridesmaid dress I needed shortened and altered but their work really shined through on my own wedding dress that they altered to be a flirty summer dress and added POCKETS to! They have also done an excellent job on my husband's suits and are always so friendly and agreeable- their shop is a place I enjoy visiting to see the staff. Can't recommend this place enough! I downloaded their mobile app, which made it easy to setup an appointment for measurements. They gave me a great price on custom tailoring for two suits, and didn't flinch on my two-day turnaround request. I was surprised and a little anxious about that.... They contacted me directly on my pickup day to let me know I was on schedule. The owner was in the store when I arrived, greeted me by name, and made sure I was happy with the alterations - which were expertly done and fit wonderfully. Not only did he take all of the wedding details (venue, colors, bridesmaid dress color and fabric coordination, etc) into account when designing what Ryan wanted for his suit - but he delivered an above and beyond, perfectly tailored suit that had ALL of the bespoke details - pocket options, belt loops, buttons and stitching - he helped us design the perfect three piece suit, and had recommendations for shoes and everything else to complete the look as well. The customer service at Glenwood South Tailors is next-level, and I loved that Brian kept the focus on what Ryan wanted while still making sure to hear out my input during the process. Excellent service and lovely attitude!!! I WILL be returning the next time I need an alteration. I had an all-sequin dress with tank shoulder straps that were too long. Every other tailor had said it couldn't be fixed without damaging the dress... but not the man at Glenwood! He looked at it and said "oh that's an easy fix", and he even promised to have it finished early! I picked it up 3 days before my banquet and it fits perfectly :) NO damage to the dress fabric or shape!! I highly recommend this place.

Brian, Maria and Co. went above and beyond for me to get a suit rush tailored for an out of town wedding, and I couldn't be happier with their work. In a pinch, one of the tailoring team even came in on her day off when I needed a last second fix to my waistband. I am incredibly grateful for this level of service. I must also commend Brian not only on his knowledge of tailoring and achieving a great fit for suit coats and pants, but also for his practicality. In addition to working with me, I've witnessed him often encouraging his clients to avoid costly, but ultimately unnecessary, alterations to their garments. I've been to several other highly-regarded tailors in town and the customer service experience and finished product are best in class at Glenwood South Tailors + Alterations. Highly recommended. Update: Had to send suit in for repairs at manufacturer due to pulling wool around hemline of trouser. Manufacturer explained that pulls were caused by high gauge thread used by tailor. Disappointed with prognosis, but can't uncrack the egg. Still appreciated the fact that the turn around time for the suit was excellent, but can't "undo" the somewhat puzzling use of thread that caused damage to my suit. Also, noticed that one leg is considerably longer than the other. My fault for not noticing before leaving the shop, but given the aforementioned issue, will be having the length fixed elsewhere.

I have gone here on two different occasions: first time was for fixing a blown out elbow on a sports coat, and the second was for some basic hemming on suit. Both experiences were great. Couldn't even tell where the repair was made on the sports coat, and they even took in the sleeves so they weren't so baggy. The lengths on the suit were perfect as well. Brian even gave my shoes a quick buff. Definitely where I'll be going in the future for all my sartorial needs, as the service has been amazing.

I have been to several tailors, but none as talented, helpful, and responsive as Glenwood Tailors. Today I brought a sportcoat in with a tear. Natalie sewed it up perfectly, and had it ready before I left! In the past, Brian has turned ill-fitting jackets and pants into custom-fit, modern attire with exactly the right give. I brought my wedding dress here for alterations and they did a really amazing job and went above-and-beyond. Throughout the process Brian and Ellen were great at explaining what needed to be done and explaining different options (such as bustle options). Alteration appointments were enjoyable--they have a great rapport with customers. My wedding was unfortunately cancelled/posponed due to COVID. As NC entered phase 2, some last-minute elopement plans materialized. Although Glenwood South Tailors had just reopened a the Friday before my Sunday elopement, they worked extra hours and rushed some alterations so that I could wear my actual dress on the day. I knew this was a bit of a long shot, but everyone there was so accommodating and understanding for a pretty out-there request. On day-of dress looked perfect. I couldn't believe how much they worked with me to accommodate my actual wedding dress for a mostly last-minute elopement. I had a weird experience due to COVID, but I would totally recommend Glenwood South to anyone getting wedding dress alterations!

I hired Glenwood South Tailors to make me a custom tailored tuxedo for my wedding that was last week. I live in Charlotte and it was definitely worth the trip. The customer service as well as the personalized touch on every single piece of my tuxedo was definitely the best I’ve experience in a long time. My first few visits was in Raleigh, NC to begin the process but the best thing was my final tuxedo was hand delivered directly to my house in Charlotte. The staff during the entire processs was very nice and was available to talk and answer all of my questions. They even gave me recommendations on what would mesh well with the type of tuxedo I wanted. The final product was amazing to say the least and I was extremely satisfied and everyone wanted to know where I got my tuxedo at my wedding. Ellen is AMAZING! She worked on my wedding dress. I highly recommend her! My dress fits like a glove and is so beautiful. The customer service has room for improvement, as the assistants never returned my calls, but usually the owner would return my e-mails. It is very pricey, I was told to expect around 20% of the cost of my wedding dress to be the cost of basic alterations (hemming, bustle, and get taken in). The total cost of alterations totaled 75% of the cost of my dress. The owner did attend 2/3 of my appointments to ensure I was pleased with the alterations, I appreciated that very much. It showed me that he cared about his business and clients. I would highly recommend other brides to visit Ellen for bridal alterations (as I've already recommended someone), but I do recommend to ask about pricing at the consultation, so they don't get shocked at each appointment like I did.

They involve you in the whole process and are just as excited to see you in your suit as you are! They pour their hearts into the fabric and it shows in all the subtle details and perfect fit. They worked with us to make a Pinterest board and provided recommendations for shoes and cuff links that my fiancé could pair for our wedding, a job interview, a business meeting, etc. The whole staff is supportive and encouraging and make you feel like VIP, whether you’re getting jeans hemmed or a custom suit or your dream wedding dress altered. My jacket was deemed good as-is, but my pants were essentially chopped up and made anew. For a reasonable price my old cheap suit looks fit for 2016. He knows what he is doing, and fit me for the best pair of pants I’ve ever owned. I mean, dang, they look good! And I don’t know how, but they feel awesome, and just different (better) than anything I’ve ever bought myself. This was the first bespoke pair of pants I’ve ever bought, but it won’t be my last. I highly recommend Glenwood South if you want to dress to impress. If he can make me look good, he can make you look great!

I had five weeks to get a tux for wedding. I considered all options: rent, off the rack, made to measure, and bespoke. As a middle-aged man with 4 kids and many nieces and nephews, I decided to invest in owning one. I wanted fit, comfort, quality, and a reasonable price - all in a highly compressed timeline. High-end off-the-rack options like Tom Ford and Brioni cost $6K+, but fit would be an issue. I could save money with mid-tier brands like Hugo Boss and Zegna, but quality wouldn’t be as good and fit would still not be perfect. As for made to measure, there are a dizzying number of options, but 8 weeks is the minimum lead time, it’s a hard to know which are good, the fit is still standardized to a degree, and the cost is significant ($2K+ for Alton Lane, for example). After reading online reviews of Glenwood South Tailors, I decided to leave a message via the website to get bespoke pricing and turn-around time. Brian Burnett, the owner, called me that same day (a Sunday). For roughly $4,500, he said I could get a bespoke tux and shirt comparable in quality to a Brioni and delivered within my short timeline. Done. Brian fitted me the next day. He has an impeccable sense of style, so I just deferred to him on the myriad of details for a bespoke tux. From the jacket collar to the slant of the button holes, Brian selected what was appropriate for me. The suit fabric (super 130 wool) is made in Italy, but the cut and sew is done in Hong Kong by European-trained tailors. Brian’s in-house tailors do the final fit and finishing in his Raleigh studio. About a week before the wedding, Brian told me the tux had been held up at US customs in Cincinnati airport for over a week and may not arrive in time. Bummer. But, Brian drove to DC (during the recent gas crisis no less) to procure an alternate for me to wear for the wedding. Few suiting suppliers would do this. Brian fitted me for the alternate tux (a decent off the rack one) and told me I could keep it for the trouble. When I returned for the final fitting, two days before the wedding, Brian surprised me with the bespoke tux. Somehow he got it from US customs. Even without the final alternations, the tux and shirt felt incredibly comfortable, like soft pajamas. No suit I’ve ever owned felt this way. The tux also features many personal details that Brian selected based on our conversations. To name a few: my first initial embroidered on the collar, year I met my wife embroidered on the shirt cuff, Duke blue trouser buttons and button-hole lining to signify my alma mater. Brian and his team worked into the early morning hours to finish the tux. Then, Brian himself drove the tux 6 hours to the wedding venue and personally delivered it to me as my wife and I were checking into the hotel. I couldn’t be more pleased with the fit, quality, and style of the tux that Brian designed. But equally important is the level of service I experienced. It surpassed my expectations.

I'd recommend this tailor shop for minor alterations only. Some concerns: They require payment in full, upfront (I'll never agree to these terms again with any service provider, period!). The sewing quality is inconsistent. Major work will deliver an unpredictable result. The final check of the finished product is rushed: they're not looking for anything that might require additional adjustments. Also, I chose this place based on the online reviews: so, so many perfect reviews in contrast to other area tailors. My experience didn't reflect the experience of all these other people; makes me wonder a bit in retrospect. They communicate well: in person and by text. Their personal service is excellent. Brian, I know you'll respond to this as you had to another recent, less-than-perfect review. In my humble opinion, an honest review is helpful not only to the potential customer, but to the business owner as well.

I've had two really good experiences here within a month. Suit jacket sleeves shortened, two pairs of pants shortened - all looked so much better after the alterations. Brian worked with me and took the time to get things right - lots of attention to detail - sleeve linings sewed back meticulously, buttons moved undetectably. I’ve been going to Brian for a while for simple alterations but this was my first foray into having bespoke clothing made. I wanted to have an outfit made for a wedding rehearsal dinner and told Brian that I wanted to be the best dressed person at the event. I got that and so much more. Working with Brian to construct the outfit wasn’t just placing an order, it was an experience. Brian was deeply interested in making a jacket that fit my personality and would be a staple of my future wardrobe. He went over the top to make sure that it was all made on a very short turnaround and even surprised me with some very nice personal touches that referenced our conversation about our shared passion for timepieces. I had just purchased a personal grail watch, a Rolex Explorer, and told Brian about how much the history behind the watch connected with me, and Brian had the name of the watch, Explorer, embroidered under the back collar of the jacket in my favorite color orange. That blew me away that he remembered all the small things. It shows how much effort he puts into the work he does and into the relationships he makes with his clients. Would give 6 stars if possible. This is a great business. The service is impeccable, and the quality of their work is not found at any other alteration place I've been to, and I've been to a number. I think of Brian as more of my style consultant, and he's revamped a number of my suits which turned them from "back of closet" to "top of the rotation" options. Such amazing service!! I have gone in here twice , one for my measurements and one to get my wedding dress taken in. Both times they gave me amazing customer service. They really helped me out by taking in my dress for me last minute, which was a week before I was flying back home for my wedding. I am a muscular person and buying a comfortable elegant suit that fits me and doesn't look boxy is a huge challenge, which is why I decided to seek out a bespoke suit. To that end, my wife and I met with Brian (the owner) to discuss my suit requirements and preferences, we were promised flexible tailoring in terms of size and excellent, top-notch customer service. Their service starting out great which is why we decided to purchase a three-piece suit that costs $2000+. We started with a couple of iterations for size measurements, all looked good in the shop but when I actually wore the suit, the pants weren't as comfortable or accommodating as desired. I reach out to Brian to tell him about the suit and along with other issues that came up with other purchases from their business. It has been more than two weeks now, and all I got was a reply from his assistant saying he'll contact me back and never got back to me. Their service is unacceptable and not professional given the high-premium prices that they charge. My $2000+ "bespoke" suit is unwearable because I can't comfortably fit in it. This edit is in response to the owners comment: Brian, I reached out on Instagram before writing this review. I have been ignored for more than two weeks and that is not how clients should be treated. I am not trying to damage your business I am simply laying out what transpired. We have been very patient. I wanted a shirt for my wedding that I was guaranteed that I would get before my wedding day but ended up not having. You offered a complimentary shirt as an apology which I accepted in good faith but it seems that the pattern of not addressing my needs is repeating. I told you that I was not comfortable with my suit after I got to actually try it out outside of your shop (which I did convey in the review). I told you I do not have any mobility where I brought up the discomfort I experience putting on my socks and tying my shoes, sitting in the car, and getting up steps as examples of common actions performed while in a suit. I was VERY clear in our initial meeting that I wanted something comfortable that looked elegant and that I am currently less muscular due to COVID (Fall time) and that I am expecting an increase in size once everything opens back up. You responded by saying that's why you need a bespoke suit and we can make that easily happen and that all of my fits would be accommodated. Now that I want to have the adjustments done you are saying it's not possible without suggesting any other options or alternatives. We have put a significant amount of money into your business and you should know by now that we do not want to "damage your business during the pandemic" or "hurt your company" since all of our alterations and purchases have taken place during the pandemic, which amounts to more than $2750. What is damaging and hurting your business is not responding to clients, making promises that can't be met, and missing deadlines. I do want to talk it out since I do not want a $2250 suit sitting in my closet unused and please address all of your correspondence to me and not my wife. If you feel that my requests and fits are beyond the capabilities of you or your shop (which, again, when we first started said could be easily accommodated), I will return the suit and ask for a full refund. Brian was able to see what needed adjusting right away, and even answered some of my questions before I asked them! Amy did a superb job with measurements.
