I'm busy getting a full canvas bespoke wedding suit made with a configuration just under £2k. My initial fitting was in mid-June, skeleton baste July and collection in September. During the collection fitting the waistcoat was around 4inches too big, the jacket shoulder fit well but the sleeves were different length, the sides needed to get tapered by about 3inches and the exterior stiching was the wrong colour. What really annoyed me was that the fitter was trying to convince me that everything was fine and would be very happy to take my stuff and walk out. She also mentioned that a change in stitching will need the entire jacket to be redone and the mistake is "not that bad". Now they are remaking the jacket (with the specified amendments I hope) and the waist coat but unfortunately as the jacket is being remade this will further extend the time taken.. There is no date of the next appointment and we have run out of time to accommodate for any other mistakes as my wedding is abroad (and considering its a new jacket based on the old jacket I'd be surprised if there are no alterations required). All this has been raised to King and allen, but only to receive a standard response that the next appointment will be in time and no reference to if alterations are required.
Overall I'm disappointed with the service, the fact that the fitters don't give good advice and will try convince you that everything fits even if it obviously doesn't and that they were not open to discuss any compensation to accept the incorrect stiching and get the jacket back earlier. I really appreciate well fitting, good quality suits and was looking for a tailor that I could use constantly but will not be coming to k&a again. And at this moment, I'm just hoping I get my suit back on time without any significant mistakes.
