Got a bridesmaid dress hemmed here. Everyone at this location that I interacted with were nice, and they had my dress completed on the day they said they would. They gave me a courtesy call to let me know they were short staffed and to come a little later to pick up, which was fine. The only negative thing was that once I tried on the hemmed dress, you could see the liner peeking out the bottom. The girl working there fixed it while I waited, which only took a couple of minutes. Overall a good experience.

Sam did a FANTASTIC job on my prom dress. When i brought it to him i needed the dress fitted and there was damage on the zipper and bottom hem. A week after I dropped it off i came back to find a dress the fit me perfectly (and sits long enough which is impressive cause i didn't know how tall my shoes would be) and he had repaired all of the damage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

NEVER will we go back to this place. They TRIED to charge us 75.00 for almost destroying a weight vest that we spent on over 400 dollars on to help our rescue dog with some issues. We ended up taking it somewhere else to get fixed and they were able to save the vest FOR A 1/4 OF THE COST. WE HAD TO RE-PURCHASE THE MATERIAL FOR THE VEST BECAUSE THEY THREW OUT THE REST OF IT!! (WHICH THEY DIDN'T EVEN REIMBURSE US FOR) When we went back to get a refund they were rude and said they really didn't care!!!! WHO DOES THAT?? DO NOT go to this place they WILL wreck your things!! Overall they are VERY RUDE and have absolute no care for the customer!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!! OUTRAGEOUS PRICES!!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. BAD SEWING JOB. Craziest Experience! Hours before a wedding, a family member experienced a problem with her zipper on her dress and was desperate to find help. The three of us travelled and looked for places that were open, and fortunately found Stitch It. The woman there was wonderful and squeezed us in time for us to be able to make it to the wedding ceremony and fixed the zipper. Because of Stitch It's great efforts, we will definitely be coming again!

The owners (alterationist) is the sweetie most patient lady ever. So respectful and clean a shop that they keep. Horrible service! The lady yelled at me for changing an alternation when paying as it was expensive and she didn't tell us how much each alternation is. She got upset about it as she didn't know how to work the computer; she blamed that there isn't a cashier, that's my problem becuse? There was no need to yell at a customer for her not being able to use a computer. Terrible!

Terrible place. I needed a speedy alteration and had two young kids come look at my dress, barely look at it and say they couldn’t do it. I tried to explain that the dress was made with extra fabric in case letting out needed to be done, and I got eye rolls and told they couldn’t do it. Horrible customer service.. brought my sons uniforum pants in to be hemmed... the lady at the front was trying to get me to ge else where... she was trying to convince me that they were to busy for my business... recieved the pants back and in about 2 weeks the hemms were out and pants were trashed. Went last week to get a trench coat hemmed, and spaghetti strap adjustments on a dress. total price came to $100. guy working wanted to charge $50 just to hem off 2 inches on the bottom of the coat, and $25 for the sleeves. didn't get the coat done. small adjustment of the dress straps was going to cost $35, but i just couldn't let this robbery happen before me. i don't remember the prices of stitch it EVER being like this. a couple years ago i had pants hemmed and it only cost $7 a pair!!! outright ridiculous how the store thinks they can charge with no posted prices, only the price given by whoever is working. i know i'll never come back here. if a company wants to charge $75 to hem a coat, i'll learn how to sew myself.

I went here to get a new zipper for my winter coat. The lady who worked there was happy to accommodate (I didn't get her name, but she sounded European) and made suggestions that I was really happy with. The price was about $35 (cheaper than a new coat) and my coat was done in about 2 days. I was very happy! The lady was very nice on drop off and pick up and was happy to do what I asked. I would use them again! I don't know why the reviews are bad on here for this place. Maybe they changed Management or associates, because I was quite satisfied.

I just got a winter Jacket dry cleaned and it's got chemical stains now. The staff was rude and said, different chemicals react in a certain way on a type of material. I am going to speak to the owner after they return from the Honeymoon. Never going there again even if it's a five minute walk. I have photos and the receipt with the special instructions for the material written on it when I handed it over...Luckily....never trust a business no matter how long someone's being going there. This have never happened at Newtex cleaners on Ottawa st. It's worth the drive....and the staff is really polite and charge half the price☺

I came here to get velcro for a uniform jacket sewn on. I was concerned about it staying on, since the jacket sees rough use. I let them know of my concern and asked about stitching to help keep it in place. The stitching they provided exceeded my expectations. Nicely secure, and nicely done. Since it was a small job, it was done same day and really reasonable in price. I will continue to come here.

My friend and I had two bridesmaids dresses altered. One only required hemming for too much length; turned out acceptable. Second dress.. we had a sash removed along with hemming. The first time we returned to grab the dresses.. there was a stain & the sash removal wasn't done very well.. The lines didn't match up & there were still strings sticking out. The bottom "frill" was sewn into the dress. Understandable the first time. Benefit of the doubt. Pandemic has everyone off their game. The second time we went to pick up the "fixed" dress.... there was still a frill or layer (will attach picture) sewn into the dress. Stain was removed though.. (She made sure to make that very clear.) The same mistake twice, or it wasn't fixed the first time? Took 30 minutes for the 3rd attempt & it's now passable. As a brand new mom with a tiny baby.... the multiple trips weren't easy, even with the two of us. We were offered 10 percent off our next alteration for our troubles & a very passive "sorry." I'm so glad that it seems most people have had a good experience here.. just wasn't the case for us sadly.

Paid and dropped off a jacket at 11:28am today. Was promised the sleeves would be shortened before 3:30pm. Went there at 3:25pm and they had only changed where the buttons were from one side. They had not finished the shortening of the jacket at all. They only moved the buttons to a different location. Unfortunately, the jacket was for a wedding and the only person at the store was busy with other clients and didn’t care to do anything right. Her name is Fathema and she was unprofessional and did not provide us with the service we paid for nor the suit was ready at all at the time agreed.

I took a winter jacket that had come apart at the seam in the armpit area. It was done in time and looked like new. You would never be able to tell it was repaired and for a very reasonable price. Sam helped us quickly and knew exactly what he was doing when pinning all the areas to create a man extreme slim look. 1 week later when we arrived for pickup it was completed perfectly and right on time. This review is a little overdue but better late then never! I had a suit jacket altered a month or so ago and they did an amazing job. I also found out that they started dry cleaning as well so I had them dry clean a dress shirt at the same time. (I was one of their first dry cleaning customers). The lovely lady at the front was friendly, approachable and very easy to deal with! She most certainly deserves a raise as good help like that is very hard to find! Bilen was very pleasant, patient, friendly, very understanding, and very detailed...I was very pleased with the quality of work done. This is the WORST customer service experience I have ever received (Pickering mall, bottom floor). On November 19th around 6 pm, my mom and I went in to get a few pants and dresses altered (about 25 clothing items). Having been here multiple times, the manger always gave us a small discount simply for the fact we are regular customers. The manager wasn’t here today and someone else was helping us. This woman refused to disclose her name when we asked. We informed the women that when ever we come were always given a discount, and that if the manger was here we would surely get it. We then asked her politely if she could give us one, and that she could even see in our past transactions as it was applied then. The women not only refused to provide us with a discount, but also refused to review her computer. I understand that being in customer service isn’t easy, sometimes you get those customers that nag and are extremely rude to the employees. But during our conversation it was the employee who demonstrated a lack of understanding and basic manners. I would like to elaborate on “basic manners” as this was the root cause of this terrible experience. Upon the end of the conversation as we were about to leave the employee starts to repeatedly say we always ask for discounts (5 times) and even raised her voice at my mother. At this point we were leaving the store and the employee went out of her way to make these comments. We aren’t upset about the discount, it is simply the FACT the approach the employee took in communicating the message. First, refusing to cooperate with the customer as they are trying to provide you with addition information to make a better decision is very arrogant. Second, refusing to provide your name so we can make a formal compliant is extremely unprofessional. Lastly, making passive aggressive comments to a customer as the conversation has ended is evident that this employee should not be customer facing.

I've been using this place off and on for years, so I brought in a winter coat that needed one of its zippers sewed onto the coat because part of it was falling off. They wrote my name and phone number on a piece of paper and said they'd try to fix it, but they weren't sure they could. That was fine by me. They said they'd call me. That was Oct 20, 2018. On Oct 29, I decided to call them after not hearing anything. They didn't have my name or phone number in their "system". When I told the girl on the phone that the girl who took my coat when I dropped it off -had only put my name/number on a small handwritten pad of paper, suddenly the girl could see it. She went to my coat (after me having to describe it to her) and assessed whether or not they could fix it. She told me that they can't. So, NINE DAYS to tell me that they can't do it!!!?? ---- who knows how long I would've waited if I hadn't called? Dear Mr/Mrs Stitch It review-responder person: Don't bother with the usual, we'll look into it, or we'll notify the store... because I see reviews from months ago where you apologized for someone being inconvenienced... and apparently this company's methods for rectifying these problems isn't working one bit! If I had've read the reviews first, I never would've brought my coat there in the first place! 9 days wasted because of this store's incompetence! I won't be going back. I've found another tailor much more reasonably priced and closer to home -who told me on the spot that he could fix this. If it were an option, I'd give Stitch It ZERO stars for this rating!

Very friendly staff, both Sam, and also a female worker too. I have used Stitch it several times in the past. The work is always done quickly and the end result is always perfect. This time, I was originally given a later day to pick it up. I called a couple of days before it was to be ready and asked if there was any way it could be sooner. Sam moved up one day, and then when I called to confirm that date, he had already finished the work and told me that I could pick it up already - two days before the scheduled day. I was very happy. Great work, Stitch it! I'll be back!

Horrible! I brought my son's Karate Uniforms in to have to badges sewn on and they accidentally sewed the draw strings to the badge! Now I'm required to purchase a new uniform because the draw strings are too short to tie. Uniforms were worn once, not happy! Still waiting for a call back from the store Manager.
