Ruffina worked WONDERS on my wedding dress, and in a pretty limited time-frame! I was floored with how perfect she tailored it to me. As someone with large breasts, the thought of not wearing a bra was so trrifying to me, but Ruffina's work on my dress made everything look so incredible and perfectly snug. She also did an awesome job on my bridesmaids dresses and was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

I was not told a price before my alterations were done, and then I was wildly overcharged, only to need further fittings. When I called and asked for another fitting as the dress remained loose in some places, I was told she was too busy and to just not move around too much. Terrible experience here.

Terrible service and rude owner. Rufina is not quite the artist she makes out to be. Her website states that she can do "major restorations" on dresses... She can't even add a panel to a dress! Instead of being honest about this, she can get very nasty and blame you for being too large. Take your business elsewhere to a more pleasant seamstress.

My only decent appointment was my first. I have to admit it went quite well getting the measurements down and you can tell Rufina knows what she’s doing. However, when I went to my second appointment (my MIL and SIL were there with me) there was a young lady ahead of me and I overheard Rufina explaining that she’s been sick and didn’t finish her dress yet for the wedding she was in for the coming weekend. When she got to me she told me the same thing - that she was sick and hadn’t hardly touched my dress, then pointed over to her machine and there my dress was, in the sewing machine still. I understand people fall ill, however there should have been a phone call made to let me know we needed to re-schedule. I live a half hour away and drove all the way there in a rain storm (four-ways on during the drive on the 401.. that kind of storm). Re-scheduled for the following week, showed up to the doors locked at the shop. We called and left voice messages and even emailed her while we waited outside the shop for my 5pm appointment. My bridesmaid received a text message at 11pm that evening from Rufina explaining that she didn’t realize she had an appointment booked! I NEVER heard from her after leaving voice messages, she only contacted my bridesmaid. My bridesmaid explained to Rufina that due to having now two inconveniences in the last week, we would expect a great discount and to re-schedule yet again. All she received back was, “come tomorrow at 5:30”. Thankfully, we were able to accommodate our schedules and go for that day and time and we were pleasantly happy that I got to try on my dress again, FINALLY. Rufina told me that she didn’t see an appointment for me in her book from the one that she missed, but there were three of us there that made a note for that specific appointment. For my final fitting, my MOH and SIL came along with me. We got ready to pay and approached Rufina about the mess the whole experience was. It started off that the total would be $480. With her “discount” she gave us for the trouble, $430 ($50 off). She started off telling us that the original total was actually $500 and then she came up with $620 later in the conversation so we were VERY confused. After some back-and-forth, she then said “just go and come back when you’re ready”. Furthering with “go ahead and write me up on the internet! I’m retiring soon anyway!” I ended up paying $480 after taxes because I just wanted to get the heck out of there WITH my dress. Bottom line - a terrible experience. I wanted to share my experience so other brides may avoid the headache, stress and utter disappointment that was my whole alteration experience.

Mike the bum says : my daughter has severe ADHD, so finding anything that she's willing to wear is hard, if not impossible ( 4 years to find new pants she'd wear )... So, when she asked to specifically to go back Rufina's to buy some new masks, I said yes right away... These mask fit over my goatee, and my daughter says they awesome for wearing glasses with... She bought one for me too... great masks

Rufina is incredible with what she does. I was SO happy with my experience this past week after I came in to see her. I was panicking as my wedding dress had finally just arrived from Australia and it was in the wrong size. I am just 50 days away from my wedding so I was in tears when it didn't fit. Rufina was super accommodating, confident in what she could do with it and was super efficient at fixing it. She really made me feel at ease with her level of confidence and I am so happy with her work. Thank you again Rufina :) :) :) I will post a picture after the wedding day!

My fianceé called and asked if they had any dresses in my size as I'm a bigger woman. She said Yes! I went in to see the dresses and she didn't have any in my size and was very rude by saying oh...you a very big girl! She was also very pushy when I asked about possibly making a couple changes to a dress and didn't like them at all! If you are looking for a dress as a bigger woman go else Where!

I recently went to Rufina’s to have my wedding dress altered. After the first fitting she told me to come back in two weeks. I expected I would need another fitting because there was so much work needed to the dress, but when I returned in two week, it fit perfectly and I left the store with it! She did such an amazing job and did exactly what I asked for, I love my dress even more now that it fits me like a glove. I will definitely be returning to Rufina’s for all my future alterations!

After calling to see if I need an appointment or not for some alterations.. I was left..confused. Rufina could not give me a straight answer on if I could just come in or if I needed to book an appointment. One second she was telling me to come in right away ( I was at work and couldn't) and the next second she's telling me to make an appointment during her very confusing and all over the place hours. I then told her I was confused and she just hung up on me. Very unprofessional and I can't even give it more than one start because I haven't seen her work.

Writing this review for my sister who unfortunately had a very poor experience with her dress. Complained about doing the bustle the bride wanted for her dress and proceeded to do a completely different one. Took in the dress too much and said she gained weight and not her fault. After quite a few very frustrating fittings where nothing had been completed we finally picked up the dress two days before the wedding, dress was full of safety pins that she had forgotten to take out and on closer inspection the night BEFORE the wedding we found a random button she sewed into the dress, a few large patches of stitching she wasnt bothered to take out from her previous bustle and on top it it, the dress wasn't even steamed like she claimed it was and it was full of wrinkles. We spent over two hours fixing the dress and steaming it. She didn't want to quote a price in the beginning and we were both very shocked with the end price. She felt totally overcharged and it seemed non negotiable and left in tears at the huge expense. We hate to leave these reviews for small businesses but we don't want any one to have the same upsetting experience as she did.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to move our wedding up 10 months. Rufina altered my off the rack dress that was too big perfectly in 1 months time. I had 2 fittings over the month. She is an amazing seamstress and knows what she is doing. I would highly recommend Rufina to any bride.

Untrustworthy, unprofessional, bad service. I had a very poor experience at Rufina's Bridal. During my first appointment to alter a wedding dress, Rufina confirmed that she was able to alter the dress the way that I wanted. She was so sure of that that she even cut the fabric that came underneath the dress to use its height as a reference for the alterations she confirmed she was going to do on the outside fabric. We booked another appointment for 2 weeks later. Around 9:30pm in the evening before the day of the appointment, she called me cancelling the appointment and saying that she had not started my dress yet, and that she would call me when my dress was ready. 3 weeks after that call, I still had not heard from her. So I called her, and again, she said she had not started my dress yet, and that she would call me when it was ready. I sent her an email asking for a date by when my dress would be ready, but she never replied. I knew that the alterations were not simple, so I decided to have a bit more patience and wait. However, 4 weeks after our last call I still had not heard from her. So I decided to stop by her shop to ask her about the dress and take a look at it. Guess what? She had not started working on the dress yet and told me that there was no way to do the alterations that she confirmed she was going to do when we had our first appointment. This was 2 MONTHS after our first appointment. She could have been honest with me when I first went there instead of waiting 2 months go by to say that. I could have exchanged the dress for a smaller size, but now that the underneath fabric has been cut, I can't do that. I picked up my dress and will take it to another seamstress. On our first appointment, I gave her a package with some extra beads that came with the dress in case she needed it, but of course, when I asked for the dress and beads back, she didn't know where the package with beads was and said she probably threw it in the garbage. I really expected a better service. The experience has been stressful and disappointing.
