Kimberly is amazing! She is a seamstress extraordinaire among a lot of other talents. We had just moved to the Issaquah area and our dog was a bit stressed with the household being new, different environment, new bed etc etc. Well, she happened to take her stress/anxiety out on our brand new Tibetan sheep wool throw pillow that we had purchased in anticipation of our new house. There was stuffing everywhere! We thought the pillow to be a total loss and quiet sad as we had saved up to purchase such a quality pillow. After gathering it up and stuffing the remnants in a bag jamming it into a dark hole in our closet for a couple of days- we decided to get a second opinion on the matter. Maybe it could be saved? Well, we ended up stumbling across Kimberly’s place and showed what we had. and happy that we did! She was very confident from the get go, which helped ease our discouragement of the loss. And POW! About a week later, she called us up and the thing was practically brand new! Thanks so much Kimberly! Really appreciate everything that you did, and sharing laughs over our silly nervous dog. I wish we had taken before pictures so everyone can see what she brought back from life.

Sometimes Kim is warm and friendly other times she’s a bit short/abrupt. However, she does the best quality work. She is the person you take something to when others say they can’t. Sometimes the price seems high, other times they same fair. It’s definitely not the least expensive. However, I could care less, b/c I leave knowing it’s going to be done right. I can see past the customer service level if the quality speaks for itself.

So I'm new to the area and was going off reviews to find someone who could do the alterations I needed on a bridesmaid dress. I found Kimberley and it seemed great, I took the dress into her, we talked about taking in the bust and the sides, bringing up the shoulders and the hem. $130 total for all of it, ok thats fine I can deal I was asking a lot to be done and she said she could have it done in a week. So I go pick up the dress today, put it on and the bust is way too big, as soon as I stop having perfect posture the shoulders fall right off (not ok for a catholic wedding). I bring this up and she just argues with me saying she'd have to cut new arm holes and it wouldn't look right. I leave, done arguing and call the bride on my way home. She says no, it should be fine she should have just taken in the bust at the sides which she was supposed to do anyway. I call her up and she starts yelling at me telling me that I'm wrong and that the dress shouldn't fit that way. Also that she never charged me to fix the bust (which we had discussed as it was too big from the beginning). I ask if she could fix it without charging me anymore because it was what I was originally told was going to happen. She says no, because she would need to re-do the arm holes it would be $50. Basically I'm very disappointed she didn't do as was asked of her and then tried to charge me again to do what should have been done in the first place. I'll never go back and never recommend her to anyone. Looks like I need to find a new tailor to fix this dress in the week that I have before the wedding... Also she's cash only which is way annoying, not many people carry that much cash on them at any point in time. Get with the times and get a credit card machine.

After doing some research on tailors I found Kimberely's and chose her based on her reviews. I have never had anything altered before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I needed a pair of pants taken in for an important event and called her New Years Eve telling her I needed them by the 2nd. She said it wouldn't be a problem. She was quick to fit them on me. And they were ready on the 2nd as promised and I paid what was quoted the day I brought them in. I will go back again when I need alterations and will recommend her to anyone who needs a good tailor in town.

Kimberley's experience is evident as she explains what needs to be done & how she'll do it. She altered a Tux and replaced and mended beading on the sheer part of a gown for me. Beautiful work, excellent fit for the tux and careful precise work on the dress. Quick turn around, both were ready when promised at very reasonable cost.

I absolutely adore Kim. I brought a wedding dress to her (7 years ago) with 2 months to spare. It was way too long (as I am rather short), and she altered it so that it wasn't rolled at the bottom (like the seamstresses at local bridal shops like to do). She also added a pull through piece, so I could latch my train to either my finger or the back of my dress to make a beautiful shower (of which I'm sure there's an actual name for). My mom brought me here, and I was so nervous because I'd just bought this beautiful dress, that was the most expensive thing I'd ever bought besides a car (and looking back, it wasn't that much). Kim has the magic touch, reasonable, and kind.

My husband and I needed some alterations to choir wardrobe for an upcoming concert. We received the items on a Friday and needed them hemmed and pressed by Monday. Kimberley took care of us quickly and did quality work. She let us know the best place to take the tuxedo jacket for pressing since she wasn't equipped for it. When I picked the items up on Monday everything was as promised for a reasonable price and high quality work. Kimberley was also delightful to work with, friendly and helpful.

Kimberley is amazing!! I recently went to Kimberley seeking alterations for a complex evening gown. She was patient with my situation and the oddities resulting from manufacturer error in the design. Kimberley attempted multiple corrections and stayed past hours to try to find a solution. In the end she provided honest feedback and did not charge me for her time and attempts at correcting my evening gown. The customers she saw while I was in the store were extremely pleased with the results of their alterations, as well. I will return to Kimberley for future alterations!!! Thanks a million!

Quoted it would take about an hour/$69 to make a wrap skirt with provided material and then charged double. I told her I wouldn’t have had it made for that price! Make sure to get quotes in writing. Lost customer.

I'm a business man who lives here in the Seattle technology sector. Since my weight has shifted between sizes, Kim has done a masterful job tailoring my suits, pants and blazers, even my jeans - and has kept me looking like a million bucks. If she seems busy, that is because she is high in demand and is the Gold standard. She takes no shortcuts and does high quality work. If you need an over night express job, you can do that at your local cleaners - you get what you pay for. However, if you mandate the best; Kimberly's Tailoring is where you want to be.

Kimberly does great work. She really knows what she is talking about and I suspect a slight language barrier is misunderstood for rudeness by some of the other reviewers. Been there a few times now and never had a problem. The clothing that she has tailored for me fits perfect. The only problem is that now I want to tailor all my clothes. I highly recommend her.

Many reviews have said Kim is rude. I'll be transparent, that was my first impression of Kim. I walked in and asked her some questions and thought her attitude and demeanor is someone who evidently didn't need any more customers. Later for some reason, I had questions about pricing and against my better judgement I called. During the call Kim was sweet and kind. And against my better judgement my wife (fiance at the time) decided to have her wedding dress, my suit, and numerous other items altered. Kim's prices are a bit more expensive, yet I will admit the end result is worth ever penny. If you need something simple such as a hem or something I'd suggest an alterations cleaners. If your need is altering a suit, wedding dress, restructuring a dress, or turning a standard fit shirt into athletic fit or slim fit, then this is the place for you. When you are a customer you'll realize she isn't rude. That's my honest opinion.

Kimberly was incredible! I had my wedding dress altered herE and she did such a great job and fast turn around since we were on a time crunch! She even gave free face masks to us, that I have found to be the best face masks to wear all day. I highly recommend her for your alteration needs!

I brought my granddaughter's dress for a cheerleading event to Kimberley on a Tuesday morning around 10:00. The dress was two sizes too large, shapeless, and too long. Kimberley literally disassembled the entire dress and remade it to perfectly custom fit my granddaughter. Suffice it to say, when you can make a 13 year old completely happy, you are obviously an expert at your craft. Oh, and it was ready the same day at 4:30. I could not be more pleased to highly recommend Kimberley for any type of alteration work.

Needed a button sewed on a pair of shorts three hours before I needed to leave for the airport. She was willing and able to help me last minute but was not happy about it and became annoyed and unfriendly. If not in such a time crunch I would've just declined and called elsewhere. I came back when she told me to come back and it was completed satisfactorily. Went to pay her the $6 and she said she didn't take card. I was never told she was cash only until this moment. I opened my wallet and showed her I had only $5 in cash and she didn't care. So I went across the street to an ATM and now had to pay an ATM fee. Not good customer service. First, I never forced or begged or pleaded her to please help me last minute, I had several other businesses that I was going to call, she just happened to be the first one that I did call and I went with her because she said she'd do it but again, if not on a time crunch I would have declined and just called the other tailoring businesses because of how annoyed she got with me that I needed same day service. Second, she should've just taken my $5 and called it good rather than having me pay a $2.50 ATM fee when I was short just a dollar. If she was cash only she should have a posted sign or have forewarned me when I dropped my shorts off to her and I would've made sure I had the $6 in cash. Although I'm thankful she was willing to help last minute I will not return for my future tailoring needs because instead of feeling like a customer I felt more like a burden.

I first took Kimberley a t-shirt (from 1996!), a pair of high-end shorts (to tailor to fit me better than the mannikin), and a pair of low-end shorts (to replace the zipper). She impressed me with her personability and skills. Recently I took in a rainjacket (from 2005!) to replace the two-way zipper. Kimberley makes sure to match as close as possible to the original, and her work looks amazing. I highly recommend her.

I've lost weight and needed a pair of beloved cargo shorts altered at the waist. The seems were better than when I dropped them off! They even removed the label and perfectly re-sewed it back on. I never even thought of that detail but was impressed. I will definitely use them again. Do remember to bring cash. (And there is great sushi next door before/after you stop by.

As far as turn around time, she altered my prom dress the day of prom, no questions asked, and gave me a less expensive price then I found anywhere else. I HIGHLY recommend her.

This is the first time I give stars and a review but I thought others should be warned. If I could give negative starts I would definitely do it. This woman doesn’t know anything about Costumer Service. She gets angry and annoyed so fast. She is so rude. If you are in Issaquah just go to Kwon’s Custom Desing, polite and helpful owners in there, this rude woman should learn from them or stop working.

To whom it may concern, I fail to understand how anyone could find the lady at Kimberley's helpful. Based on previous reviews, I asked her to sew on a pocket to a life jacket. The life jacket new is $50. The lady at Kimberley's wanted a minimum of 2 hours at $65 to sew on the pocket and I provided the material. She said the life jacket was made in China where things are cheap. Yes I would agree about Chinese things, however this jacket was made in Canada. $130 + is complete nonsense. I never usually write reviews but this lady was so rude I thought others should be warned.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Kim is fantastic, not only an amazing tailor but a wonderful individual. Had a prom gown tailored/fitted at a different tailor unfortunately, tried it on at the other tailors shop once ready and it did not fit correctly - actually much worse than before we took it there (turned out it had not been tailored properly). The other tailor said any changes would just make it worse and that was the best fit the dress could have. Needless to say, my teenager was horrified and ready to cancel prom. Called Kimberly from outside the other tailor shop and explained the situation (at this point it was after 6pm). She offered to stay even though it was after closing time to help so we headed over right away. Even though the previous tailor had caused some pretty significant problems with the dress fit (sewed the top in where it should not have been rather than the sides like had been paid for, sewed padding in too high, etc, etc), she was creative, wonderful and patient in coming up with solutions & cutting out the improper stuff where possible so the prom would still be a success. She took the time (even though it was well over an hour past closing by the time we arrived) to try numerous solutions until the dress fit perfectly. She showed us what had been done wrong with the dress (from the other place) that made it fit so awkwardly and said she would stay until the dress fit right and was SOOOO patient with a very shy slightly freaked out teenager. Don't make the mistake we did, just go to Kimberly from the start. She was also about 1/3 of the price as where we went previously and was wonderful to work with. She would be worth every penny at 10 times the cost. Not just an amazing seamstress, but a fantastic person.

I had recently gone here after having a bad experience at another tailor and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to go here. I called and asked if I needed an appointment and she said no and said she could take me right away. It was super fast and easy. I had the hem of my dress shortened and she was able to have it done in less than a week and it looks amazing!!!! I highly recommend her for her amazing customer service and services!

Kimberly did an excellent job on my alterations for my wedding dress! She was timely and I felt very comfortable with her working on my dress because I could tell she definitely knows what she is doing and does amazing work. I had her hem, take in the straps, and insert padded cups on my dress. I was cutting it close on time, and 10 days before my wedding I was hoping to take my dress in a bit on the waist and hips and she got it done with no problem!

If I could give negative stars I would. This woman is a scam artist and terribly rude!! She will quote you a price. But, when you go to pick up your item, be prepared to be mad! She only takes cash and the total due will be way more than she quoted. She takes advantage of people she knows are in difficult binds. A fried just had a bad experience and posted about it on FB. Was amazing how many people had experienced similar horrific things!! Please do NOT give this woman your business.

I've had pants, shirts, and dresses altered and hemmed here and everything has turned out perfect! She also now does 'original hems' on jeans where she can match the type of stitch, thickness, etc AMAZING WORK and she is super friendly!!
