Gene is amazing. I had a huge issue with a bridal boutique in Courtice and had to get all of my girls dresses and mine redone. Gene was soo accomidating. She had my mom's dress all my girls and my bridal gown done in fantasting time. And did a beautiful job. And didn't charge too much at all she saved my wedding that's for sure. You will not be disappointed that's for sure I guarantee it. Thank you sooo much.

Gene altered my wedding dress. I ended up approaching her with a months notice to alter my dress because my previous seamstress dropped out last minute. Gene took my dress and made it fit me better than any article of clothing I've ever owned. She also altered my bra to fit better with the dress. I truly can't thank her enough.

I bought my wedding dress at an incredible bridal consignment shop and it had been altered to fit the bride before me. Needless to say some of the alterations were messy and I was not happy with how it fit me since it wasn't fitted to my body yet. I reached out to Gene -- nervous of horror stories of insanely expensive alterations and dresses not being done on time. And was greeted with a smiling face who clearly loves what she does. She was always prompt with her email responses -- bringing my mind to ease whenever I was nervous about a detail. She also was able to add boning and support to my dress that made me look and feel perfect in the gown. She was very kind and got my wedding dress done for me in less than a month -- with no needed adjustments. She was very reasonable. Highly recommend her and her business, you won’t be disappointed.

She did a beautiful job with my wedding dress. She didn't have a long time but she made a really pretty bustle. She also did a great job when I wanted to change the neckline even adding her own beads so it would blend in nicely with the rest of the dress. Highly recommend !!

I had difficulty finding a seamstress available and I was fit in right away. This experience was a pleasure! Besides being so polite, I was given realistic expectations. I'm super tall and needed all of my jeans taken in because it would be a fortune to replace. I was shown a sample pair of what my jeans would look like and we went through each jean to make sure the different styles were fitted. The best part of the experience was the price. I was shocked at how cost effective it was. It wasn't even the cost of two of the jeans to get seven or eight altered. Before I left, I was given a quote so there were no surprises and she gave me the date and time for the pick up. The jeans were ready right on time. A+ experience and I will definitely be referring Shimmer.

Gene at Shimmer Alterations was a saving grace for a bridesmaid dress I had. My dress was many sizes too big where I had people wanting to charge me insane prices saying it was too hard to size down, Gene took me in made it work with my schedule and my dress now fits perfectly!
