Went to this laundromat-alterations combo and had a problem with the washing machine and the service was horrible.
I had trouble closing the washing machines to begin with as it seemed they required a great deal of force to get the latch into the right position to lock - even when I made sure that my clothes were not in the way. I finally got the door to close, put my money in the machine and got it to start when it stalled and I realized the door had popped open again. There was no one around and I was ready to try to get my money back from the machine and leave when a man came out from a door and slowly walked up while muttering "kicking...slamming..." he chastised me for kicking the machine - which I did not do, I just used my knee to press it in enough to close - and he lifted the top of the washer, tinkered with the parts within before closing it, fiddling with the door and washer started. He argued with me as I walked out.
I came back around 40minutes later and the washing machine still wasnt done. I sat and waited, and when my clothes had been in there almost an hour, the machine said it was done, I tried to open the door but I couldn't get the door open. I asked the woman who was at the alterations counter if she could help me and she came over and told me to use the latch to open the washing machine door. I told her I had tried that. She fiddled with the latch and told me the door was open so I tried to open it and it wouldnt open. She stood back and just kept telling me to use the latch, that I had to do it because someone wouldnt always be there to help md and after a very frustrating exchange I finally got the door open.I told her if she didnt want to help me she could have just said no and left me alone and that I'm not coming back here. She said "Good! If you don't like it here go somewhere else!" She continued to argue with me while I put my clothes in the dryer and I kept asking her to stop talking to me. She finally started to walk away but I could hear her talking to another customer and saying the word stupid repeatedly. I went outside to smoke while I waited for my clothes to dry. When I came back the door that I had previously used was locked and I had to enter where the alterations counter was. Hardly a distance to the laundry machines but a petty obstacle for her to have put up. When I walked up to the dryer I saw this sign had been propped up among the clutter.
Never returning here ever again.
