I purchased a sweet tommy hilfiger suit when there was a sale on. The woman who helped me pick out the suit was fantastic. She gave me her honest opinion and helped me get measured for a perfect fit. I had told her it was my first time buying a suit so she was great at helping me purchase what actually suited me. My co-workers were blown away. One actually thought I got promoted to General Manager which made me laugh. There's also an older gentlemen who works there who is super cool. He helped me buy shoes once and also took measurements once. Wish I would have asked both their names so I could show them appreciation on this review. I see some previous posters claim to have issues with rude staff. To that all I can say is those staff must have been off every time i have shopped there because I have never had a bad experience with staff there. Thanks Moores, and Moores staff....you are my go to place for all my suits and business attire needs. Oh, by the way. They often have a clearance rack. I got some amazing dress shirts from $19.99-$29.99 that normally sell for $69-$109. So don't forget to check this rack when you are there or you may overlook a real gem of a deal.

Really hard to review this place. My boyfriend went in there to get a suit for his mothers funeral...However he didn't get great service from Mark. Seems someone else came in, and Mark moved on to a bigger sale! So another girl helped him. Wish I had her name, because she sold him a very ill fitted suit. The pants were 2 sizes too big for him. We went to pick them up after they were hemmed and I was shocked at what they sold him....(he's not a suit wearer) Anyways, finally Malyssa Pye helped us. She was wonderful!!! She saw him in the suit and immediately sprung into action! Sold him two separates that fit (and no extra charge). Anyways, overall if it wasn't for Malyssa (she gets 5 stars BTW) I would of filed a complaint at head office. Shame on you other two sales people!!!!

Very judgy, condescending staff. They try to sniff out wealth on the people walking in, and if you don't smell right then you're frankly beneath them. What, just because I walk in wearing shorts and a T-shirt, I can't know what a European vent is? But if I walk in wearing a suit, they literally won't leave me alone -- but once I tell them all I want is a tie, I can't get anyone to so much as look at me again. Hard pass. I'd rather buy a suit from the thrift store down the street than from these guys.

I was willing to give this location a couple of tries, but every time they fall short of expectations and most of the staff come across as rude and disinterested. Selection is either dramatically limited or staff just plain don't give a damn, it's difficult to tell. I've never seen a men's clothing store that only had a handful of dress shirts in a size to choose from. Everything here has an upcharge and the upsell should be expected. This location takes a lot of liberty with the use of a franchise name to keep bringing them customers, because without it...they get beat on service, selection and often price as well.

Moores service has definitely deteriorated over the years. I have bought 3 suites and several pants and shirts over the years from there. This had been my store of choice for dress ware until today as I will definitely not be going back if I can help it. Went there today with my wife to pick out a pair of pants , and/or a suit and it started off well, as one older skinnier gentleman asked if we needed a hand. At that point we didn't so we said no. Later when we needed a hand we got one of the sales lady to give us hand. Then it turned into a gong show as this older, bigger gentleman (wife says it is the manager but I am not sure) joined and tried to also help out. His attitude and demeanour, unfortunately, was less than helpful and I wish he hadn't tried to help out. Long story short we left frustrated and feeling quite defeated and unwelcome in the store because of that gentleman's attitude. So we went to TipTop tailors in Midtown where we bought the suite and then picked up a pair of dress shoes at the Bay to go with it.

i went to this store today without knowing what to get, but marc explained to me the differences of tuxedo and a suit then helped me out on measurements and all the things that i needed to get, simple and no rush. now im just waiting to get the suit pants to get it trimmed. all thanks to marc and his co-worker ( i did not get his name ) for this awesome shopping experience and there is a discount too, will be back in the future for sure!

Went to get a custom suit for my fiancé for our wedding and weren’t told the vest we purchased was not included with the suit. So paying $495 for a jacket and pants. First issue we had was when we went to pay the money came out of the account but didn’t show as accepted on their machine. Today we go back to see about removing the $150 vest and getting a refund and says they can’t do it. Something about having to phone customer service and it taking a week. Then can’t get a receipt or any sort of refund for a $700 suit. Will not be returning to this Moore’s.

Not impressed with customer service. My son and a friend went in today and were left for 25 minutes without service -by manager. When they did request help in choosing a suit for prom and Grad were informed all the shirts were in plastic and were not to try them on. ???? Terrible experience. Went on as a student looking for a sport coat to wear out on the town, immediately the man brought me a $1200 JACKET ONLY. All he brought me were the most expensive ones he could find. Finally I told him I would be just looking around and I found a nice $220 one that was exactly in my budget. He then came around to check on me and I told him I would be taking this one and he instantly got pissed off at me, making rude comments on how poor quality it is and how I will be needing it repaired the next day. He then led me to the till and continued to try and sell me on the most expensive ones again!! I finally said I wanted someone else to ring me up so he marched away in a very angry fashion as I went to the next till which a woman was working at. I was very happy with the woman that ringed me up, she was very polite and told me it was a nice jacket for the price and so on. When she asked me who helped me today I told her to put her name down for the commission. I looked over my shoulder and the man who was with me before was glaring at me from across then store. Overall I am very unhappy with the service that I was provided. Never going back or recommending anyone to this store

The staff were extremely helpful and helped me pick out a sport coat that fit great and looked good. The coat was also on sale which was a nice bonus. A large selection of dress clothing hindered by inexperienced staff and careless management that undoubtedly is due to a high turnover rate. My own wedding and two others I attended all had multiple issues with the clothing we had rented. Wouldn't recommend unless you wanted to buy a pair of socks or a tie.

I walked out after ten minutes. I wanted a suit vest that went with shoes, pants and tie I brought in for reference, "which I bought at Moors in Surrey" I get that they are commission based sales, but my salesman was impatient with me and kept quickly talking to me, then scanning the store, maybe for other customers he thought he would have a faster sale with? I said I'd like a suit vest three or four times, each time he came back with me getting a sport jacket, and then said, well if you still want a suit vest we can do that.... seriously! High pressure rushed sales tactics had them loose about 250$ And I feel the store manager is going to counter my low review on Google, but hopefully take some responsibility for how they sell stuff. I have to start this review off by explaining that I HATE shopping for clothes, and I prefer to shop for baseball hats and hiking boots rather than formal wear, but there comes a time every few years when you need to refresh your formal wardrobe and get some new suits. I should also mention that I have about 10 years of retail management experience and about as many years in sales experience, this may make me a little more critical than the average retail shopper. Dreading this day, I went into Moores to inquire about custom suits. I'm a big barrel chested (beer belly) guy that rocks skinny jeans so it's never easy to find an off-the-rack suit that fits me the way I want. I was greeted with a warm "welcome to Moores" as I walked in and was told that the guy to see what on the phone and he's be just a few minutes. As soon as this gentleman was done on the phone he walked over and introduced himself (Khyler) and started asking me the usual questions. I explained that I wasn't really into shopping for clothes and he really seemed to take that into consideration for the rest of the process which I appreciate more than any long winded review could convey. Khyler went through all of my options with me, making me feel confident in my decisions along the way. He had me try on jackets and pants from the store to get an understanding of my style, etc. Once we decided on a brand, he went to work taking measurements, followed by helping me through the dizzying amount of options available. Before I knew it, I was done! All I had to do was bring my partner back to okay the fabric (she's the real boss here). I explained this to Khyler and he told me his schedule and I left excited. A few days later I returned with the boss and was greeted by Khyler, I introduced my partner and Khyler had made a point to remember details about her that I had mentioned in my first visit (a very nice touch). We changed one of the suits from blue to grey and five minutes later Khyler was typing up the paperwork. Another 10 minutes and I was swiping my card and shaking his hand. I have to say that as a person who was DREADING this experience Khyler made this it not only bearable but actually a pleasure! Thanks Moores for employing a guy like Khyler as even though it may seem like a regular day for most people, formal wear shopping can be a real chore for some. I can't comment on the quality of the suit as it wont be delivered for a few weeks but I was so impressed with the level of service I received that I felt compelled to review right away. I will update when my suit comes in. Big thanks to Khyler again for making me feel confident in my purchase and making what could have been a terrible experience an absolute pleasure!

Unfortunately the second associate who ordered a replacement tie for my son ordered the wrong one, so he'll be attending a once-in-a-lifetime event with the wrong tie. It's extremely disappointing. (Apparently they don't get any weekend deliveries so 43 hours notice wasn't enough to order in the correct tie before Saturday afternoon.) Noah helped arrange 2 children’s suit rentals for my sons to attend my sister’s wedding. It’s not easy dealing with children at the end of a rainy Friday but Noah was personable and professional from start to finish. Thank you.

Staff are not helpful and are quick to dismiss. After getting a blatant lie when I called them to ask a question, I went into the store a few days later, where I was quickly dismissed. The staff didn’t know their product and instead of offering any form customer service, walked away. I found exactly what I was looking for there (without any help from the sales people), but will purchase somewhere that puts effort into their customer interactions.

Very unprofessional service. My fiance went in with his groomsmen to pick out shirts. The guy helping them was very rude and continued to comment on the size and weight of my fiancé and his groomsmen. One of the groomsmen wanted a 19 inch neck but the guy told him it would never fit and gave him a 22 inch neck.... the shirt was way too big.... ended up getting the 19 inch neck and it fit perfect. We will never use Moores again. Not happy with the rude sales men that was working today.

Went in with my husband and immediately told them our budget after the one guy tried talking us into a $800 suit. Even after telling him our budget, he kept pushing the $800 suit again. Explained that my husband wears suits all the time and we know what we are looking for. But he kept talking down to us like we have never gone suit shopping before. We went in for the sale and he was talking to us like we were cheap. Never again. Went to Tip Top instead, got a suit in our price range with minimal alterations and not one mention of having to take anything in the CROTCH, like the guy at Moore's pointed out. First time I have ever heard that while suit shopping. Same gentleman that ekarreman posted about in his review.

Went here to setup suit rentals for my wedding party. They took down all the names of best man, grooms men on a registration paper. My best man went to a store after this day to get fitted and none of the names were in the system, that store told him they couldn't do anything until the original store entered all the information. I called the store I went to and a female sales associate was very helpful (not sure her name) and apologized many times and said she would enter the information into the system right away. This is the jacket I tried on, they ordered a longer length size to achieve proper fit. Rental comes with shirt, tie, pants, jacket, and shoes.

Came in to buy a dress shirt and tie for my mother's upcoming wedding. Now I'm not much for fancy clothes, so I let my mother decide what colors she wanted (so I kept with her color theme). That being said, the sales associate who was "helping" us was easily the most uninspired and dry employee I've seen in a long time. It looked like everything we asked physically pained him if it caused him to move. Lackluster effort with suggestions and he seemed as though he could not wait for us to leave. Was looking for him to try to find my suit I ordered a few months prior so I could match it, but he said for us to take a look anywhere on a selection of wall - which had about 100 suits. Again, uninspired. The choices of product are not bad in terms of selection, but I personally found some of the prices to be a bit high. Overall, likely to head to a different location next time.

We called 3 hours ahead to confirm we could get a fitting for a suite for a friends wedding. ( he picked this location) this store is an hour away from us. We were told to come in by 5:30 and they could do the sizing. We arrived at 4:30pm and they closed at 6. We waited for 30 minutes. The sales lady then told us, she had not eaten all day, she was too busy and needed to take a 30 minute break and to come back the next day. We explained that we drove an hour to get to the store and called ahead to ensure we could be seen. There was still an hour until the store closed. She said " I have not had a break, there are only 2 of us here and I wasn't the one that took your call' you need to leave and come another day" She was so rude to us , snapped our heads off. I really do not want to have to go to this store again! I wish I could give less than 1 star.

Excellent service from Carol tonight in our consultation, but a little disappointed with the lack of options for my personal wedding. The colour swatches we got from David's Bridal who say they coordinate with Moores, well one isn't available for anything yet, since they're owned by a US company the swatching is 6 months behind. So I cant get colours to match for my maids dresses, and some are only matching in a textured print, not flat. Kind of disappointed on that front.

The staff was able to help me right away and knew their product. Unfortunately, I thought everything was going great until I picked up my suit. My arm length was not measured when I was fitted for the suit. I did not know this as I do not buy suits often. I was very disappoiinted when I picked up my suit and had no option but to wear a suit that did not fit properly for my special occasion.

I am completely unimpressed with the customer service. The sizes in kids shirts were confusing as the "small" appear larger than the "medium". I asked for help from a man who really did not seem that interested in helping me figure it out. Then at cash, I noticed that there was a thread pulled affecting the seam. The cashier called someone over (I think it was the same man?) who said to have the tailor "touch it up". When that person was not available he said to do an RTV and then left. I asked the cashier what this meant. She said it meant "return to vendor" and she was sorry but I could not purchase it (and there were no others). How inconsiderate of that decision-making man to leave it to the poor cashier to explain to me that I just wasted my time in there. And then how inconsiderate of the man to not offer to have the tailor "touch it up" at another time and I could pick it up later. I hope that shirt does not end up in a landfill somewhere or back on the rack unfixed. I generally got the impression that for some reason, the man did not like me.

My partner and I rushed to Moores in Guelph a few weeks ago to purchase an emergency dress shirt after realizing his current one didn't fit. We were running very late (since we didn't think we needed to leave time to buy a new one) and the staff at Moores were AMAZING. Sensing we were in a hurry, the gentleman there was very quick and efficient to measure him, pick out the exact shirt we needed, and even flat pressed it for us all within about 5 minutes. the employees (tami and new girl) were extremely useful. they took my measurements, got me in fitting wear, and then arranged six or seven other same-fitting pant and shirt combinations for me to choose from (after asking what it was for and confirming my need for 4 to 5 more combos). in their work, the staff eliminated everything that I hate about shopping and simplified the process for me down to choosing (from a visible layout) what arrangements I personally liked and what I didn't (no thinking about sizing, no picking from shelves). if you've ever done the customization of creating a character in a video game where you enter a menu and choose between different haircuts and moustaches and eye colours and clothing styles (making a bitmoji), that is essentially the experience you will have here. the staff provided me with a much easier, quicker, and enjoyable experience buying clothes than I have ever had.

But then again, I should have remembered what most of us know already: what you read on the Internet is often not true. I had a great experience. The woman that assisted me was courteous, professional and very helpful. I brought my own suit in and she was happy to help me pick out a shirt, tie and socks that matched and finished it off with a nice pocket square to make the outfit really stand out. Misty, who I assume is the manager and if she isn't then for God's sake give her a promotion, personally helped us every step of the way, and we cannot say enough good things about her. Misty chose the perfect fabric on the first guess, understood our vision perfectly, and made the fittings smooth and enjoyable. She has a great sense of humour and sense of romance and excitement about the occasion; she really 'got' my husband's unique personality and he ended up with the perfect suit. There was a mixup at another Moores store in Toronto when our groomsmen tried to buy their attire, and Misty got on the phone and fixed it like it was nothing. Highly, highly recommend. This is a great way to get a custom suit you will love, for a great price. Ask for Misty!

I came into the Upper James location yesterday and needed help with the last minute purchase of a suit for an unexpected family funeral. I explained my situation to Brooklyn and she and her manager were more then helpful. They assured me that the suit would be tailored to my needs and be ready for pick up today by 12pm. I walked into the store today at 11am and the suit was bagged and ready to go with no issues. The on duty tailor (I just can't recall her name) was also great to deal with. Great experience in the store but not so great once we got home. Jasmin was excellent helping us pick out a sport jacket, shirt and tie for a funeral. Made it so easy and quick. So fast that our 4 year old didn’t even have time to complain. Excellent service. Unfortunately the shirt was way to big and will need to be exchanged. We asked if my husband should try it on and we were told it wasn’t necessary because she fitted him based on his measurements.

Stephen @ Moores Langley is by far the most professional & skilled gentleman I have even had the pleasure of encountering at any mens clothing store, and I have been in many of them on three continents. He truly is a master of his craft. You can walk in to see him in your work clothes and before he's done you can have a complete, matching outfit from shoes, suit and tie to a matching watch, shirt and cologne. All picked with impeccable taste. He literally saved me from a total disaster @ my last company Christmas party. I have just purchased my 3rd suit from him and will continue to do so. i believe he works on weekends. Do yourself a favor and call ahead to make an appointment with him before you show up.

My partner wears specialty sizes, so we have to order his dress shirts to be custom made. Walked in and asked to place a custom order and they argued over who was going to help me.. nobody seemed to want to do it. They kept their customer service smiles, but it was clear they didn't want to do it. It wasn't until I had picked my colours and such and we went to input his sizes into the order form that the lady said "Oh, I get it now, he's a specialty size!" and then she was happy and very helpful after that. It ended up being a good experience and he loved his new shirts and ties, very friendly staff AFTER they realized why I was placing a custom order... I just wish I didn't have to have a reason or feel like a burden before that. Other wise great service, taught me how to tie a full windsor (I only knew how to tie a half windsor, and it just doesn't look as good) And very happy with the items.

There was a mistake made with the cuff links being gold but they gave us silver ones instead no problem. Excellent service, friendly staff at the Guelph Ontario location. Rented a tux for a wedding in the area. I live in the US and had to call Moores customer service with my measurements. I was expecting alterations would need to be done from my past experiences of renting a tux. This time was no different. The jacket sleeves, and pant legs had to be lengthened, and the shirt exchanged for a smaller size the day before the wedding. I came into the store at about 10 am and was back out the door with my altered tux by 1 pm. Everything fit GREAT! Thank you for all the last minute help.

My fiancé and I purchased a custom made suit from Moores earlier this year. Right after receiving the notification the suit was in, Moores closed all of their locations due to Covid-19. Our custom made suit that is fully paid for is currently sitting in the Langley location, and our wedding is in two weeks. The only way to reach them is via one email, and it doesn't even go to the Langley location. It goes to head office and the reply is "We do not plan to open any of our locations any time soon". We have sent multiple emails and only gotten one reply. We want the suit that we have fully paid for and is sitting in the Langley location. It does not break any Covid restrictions or guidelines to "curbside pickup" suits/ mens wear that has already been ordered.I understand not wanting to offer alterations or the ordering of new suits, or their rental program. Other bridal shops are currently honouring previous transactions. We have spent ALOT of money here on a custom suit, and we were excited to have it for our big day (that has already had to drastically change in regards to covid).The least we would like to have is both of us looking our best. Do not shop here. They do not care about their customers or their customers needs. We are completely unimpressed, and clearly it is not just a one location issue but an issue that stems all the way to head office and upper management. Sorry for the length. I hope this helps you in choosing a mens clothing store in the future. I normally am not one to write a negative review- but in this case, I think it needs to be known. Thank-you. UPDATE: They responded to this review, so I decided to email that exact email that I have emailed already over 10 times. Their "Moores Listens" does not listen, they respond with a script with no helpful or useful information. There has literally been 0% help of any kind.

They talk the talk but do not follow through. I purchased 2 pairs of pants, 3 shirts and socks. The pants require hemming so they advised to wash them first and then get them hemmed. I did so and returned three days later to pick them up, I tried them on to see they were too short. They had no more in stock so brought them in from Quebec. I once again do had them marked for hemming and was advised they would be completed on Thursday, when I returned on Friday to pick them up. They only then noticed that they were no hemmed. Unbelievable to have such poor service! It has been two weeks and I still do not have the pants that I paid for!!

Never in my life have I had such horrendous after-sale service. I bought 2 suits from them, had them tailored and was supposed to pick them up a week later. I got one a week later, the other had an issue and they had to order a new one (which they never called to tell me). They told me it would be another week, fine....4 &1/2 still without my other suit. I had to call THEM 5 times because they never kept in touch with me; every time I called, there was some weird excuse to give me. Finally they get the suit, I go to pick it up, but they lost my measurements, so I have to wait again while they tailor the suit. On top of it, they wanted to charge me again for the adjustments (which I had already paid), and when I explained my point to the clerk, he turned around and walked away while I was in mid-sentence. I have never paid over $600 for something and gotten such terrible service. I am a soon-to-be university graduate, my job will require me to dress professionally (for the next 30-40 years) and I can assure you that I will never set foot in the store ever again. AVOID AT ALL COST!
