This wonderful woman altered a dress for me that was too big and sleeveless. She made it into the most perfectly fitting dress with long sleeves. She has also helped me update a vintage winter jacket so it looks contemporary. It is one of my favourite pieces now. It very reasonably priced for the high level of quality and care she puts into her work.

It is stunning that such a place is still in business. I should have paid close attention to the mixed yelp reviews of this place and not taken a chance.I brought my dress to Studio Kim for a simple dry cleaning and zipper change a week before an event. The owner calls me on the DAY of the pick up, FIVE BUSINESS DAYS after I had dropped it off, to tell me that no work has been done on the dress and that it won't be done in time for pick up. She offered no explanation as to why this dress hadn't been touched. I didn't understand why they advertise these services when they clearly cannot honor their commitments to their clients. Save your money and your headache and take your clothes elsewhere. I ended up washing the dress myself and it ended up looking brand new. Don't know why I even bothered bringing it to Studio Kim in the first place, as I would have avoided a huge headache and last minute scramble. To top it off, when I showed up in person to pick up the dress, the owner started to communicate with me in her mother tongue and pretended that she didn't speak English, when just a few hours ago, the same person was communicating fluently with me in English; I assumed this was to avoid explaining herself . Shady practices. Shady business. Avoid.

I brought a BCBG jumper that I wanted to wear to a wedding, I was in the bridal party. After several months, the jumper didn't fit anymore! In a panic, I brought it to Studio Kim, she was apprehensive that she could make it work but said she would do her best. She did it! It was done a week later and it fit! Cost was reasonable, much cheaper than a new frock. It fits and looks spiffy.

I recently went to Studio Kim to have a dress tailored for an up coming wedding. (I bought it online - Lulus). I needed to have the dress shortened, as I am 5'2 (fairly standard for someone my height), and for the straps to be tightened (the dress was made for someone with a longer torso). I was very nervous to have this dressed tailored because it cost quite a bit of money (and duties) since it came from the states. I am really happy I went to Studio Kim for this. The owner, Kim, is very friendly and she asked for me to try the dress on with the shoes I would be wearing with the dress (smart). She then chalked where she would need to cut and said I could come pick up a dress in a week. When I went to pick up the dress, Kim asked if I wanted to try it on and I said yes. I tried the dress back on and I was super pleased with the alterations! She even offered to steam the dress for me (free of charge!). Everything cost me $55+ tax, which may be a lot but it was the first item I had tailored in the Toronto area (I'm from a smaller town where things are definitely cheaper). Either way, I would definitely recommend coming to Studio Kim!

I have found this place online and looked at reviews. So, I am posting this as I had a very bad experience. I have paid 35$ (+tax) for repair of my pants. As you can see on the picture they did an awful job and destroyed my pants. I can not believe I even paid for this service as this quality is not adequate. Probably my first review I ever posted, but hopefully that will help someone to avoid the mistake that I have made coming there. Very disappointed, I have been waiting for a week and when my husband picked them up I was so upset to see this.

This is my first time ever as a young adult that I own a suit. I searched for almost a week straight, reading all comments. There's even a BlogTO article about tailors in Toronto/GTA. Out of all them, Studio Kim stood out. So I called, booked an appointment, got two blazers and a pant altered. Picked my things up about a week after and I am sooooo happy with how everything turned out. Studio Kim will forever be my tailor. I definitely recommend.

I am incredibly disappointed in Studio Kim. I took a bridesmaid dress to get it hemmed and a slit put in ($65). When I picked it up and tried it on the outer layer of fabric had a slit and still needed the under piece done. She did it on site but was told I didn't need to try on again (my mistake here). When I tried it on the next day, noticed how off the under slit was to the point the dress was unwearable. Studio Kim was closed and didn't open in time to fix so I had to take it elsewhere to get an emergency fix. When I called back Kim to tell her about my experience, she did not own up to this and said "it is not my fault". I asked for some money back and she refused saying "maybe next time a discount", however there will NOT be a next time.

I have been going to Kim for nearly 10 years as of 2015 - she's amazing, and she'll fix issues other tailors have botched. I used to get my things altered at Holt's and Harry Rosen, but she is very reasonable and she charges a fraction of what you'd pay for elsewhere. I highly recommend her for everything from suiting to jeans, and I've even had a few sets of cushion covers made.

It was my first time visiting Kim and I’m impressed at everything. First of all, kim is so sweet and easy to talk to. I was very comforted by her kindness. Second of all, she managed to fit me into her schedule the next day and it only took her two hours to finish hemming my pants. Lastly I was surprised at the price as it was super affordable ($19). The area is also very enjoyable because there’s so much to do while you’re waiting for her to finish. I will be coming back and I recommend her to anybody.

I take absolutely everything I own to Kim, and I wouldn't trust anyone else as much as I trust her. Her attention to detail is amazing, the smallest fixes (shortening, lengthening, repairing zippers, adding fasteners) are always perfect and really quality. But even more than that, she has completely reconstructed old dresses and shirts to make them more to my style. Now when I go shopping, if I love something but it isn't quite right, I know Kim will make it perfect. She can literally do anything with a piece of clothing, it is incredible. And the prices are always SO reasonable for what you end up with.
