EDIT: We did speak with the owner of the store who apologized on behalf of his mother for the misunderstanding. Although I do feel she handled the situation poorly I appreciated speaking with the owner and getting proper customer service. My boyfriend and I dropped off an item that needed to be tailored. Shortly after picking it up, we received a call from the woman working who was yelling & arguing over the phone because we didn’t pay. We had the receipt in our hand and after telling her multiple times we payed she yelled “well my son is looking into it” she informed us she will call us back after he looks into it and she never did, I’m assuming she found the transaction. Very unprofessional and will not be bringing our business to this establishment in the future.

Samad is awesome, we have come here many times for all sorts of alterations (grad, wedding, and all sorts of dresses). he has filled in our dresses (adding a nude coloured fabric behind lace), added sleeves to dresses, sewn up slits, and hemmed many layers of dress that have all turned out AMAZINGLY. We had many horror stories with other tailors and have brought them to Samad to fix each time, and he has never disappointed. Although it is more expensive than other tailors (that’s why it’s only 4 stars), he has always done a very professional job, and has fixed so many things for us. His timing is also very impressive, he usually has things done within a week. With my wedding dress, he had it done over the weekend so we could pick it up within 5 days. Very friendly and welcoming, always tries to have a clean little shop, and overall very professional.

The older woman was arguing with a customer ahead of me about pricing. Should have been my first red flag. Took my work pants in to get a small tear fixed, and while they did technically do the job I had to go back twice because they weren't ready by the time that was specified. Apparently they don't even do the tailoring in store, they had taken my pants and a bunch of other clothing from other people home to have their daughter(?) fix them there. Seems kind of weird, what if they have pets and people who bring their clothes in have pet allergies or something. Anyway, I drive to my usual tailor in St. Albert now and won't be back here.

Samad was amazing. I called to ask about a ballpark place for taking in a down filled winter jacket and he let me know the price right away. Of course I was expecting it to be a little more as it was more work then just taking in a winter jacket. When I arrived he was efficient, kind, and surprised me when he said it would be ready in two days - just in time for a cold front to hit. He assured me it would be done in time so I would be warm:) I picked it up and it was amazing! The coat looked like it was made that way! Not only did he tailor it to fit me but he made it possible to get it taken out (if I put on some weight) which was great because it was an expensive jacket! Thank you for great friendly service and making me look great in my warm winter coat! Highly recommend and I will be back!

I called and asked how much to hem a dress and he said 10$ over the phone. He told me to bring the shoes I wanted to wear with the dress and they can hem it like that. I went in person and all of a sudden it's 40$ to hem a dress. That's the same price I paid for the dress.. I asked him why he said 10$ over the phone and he said "oh no no I was talking about hemming pants" yeah that's why you told me to bring the shoes I was gonna wear with the DRESS.. lies. I'm just mad I used their service.

Poor service. The woman who works there is quite rude and has a temper. There is no emphasis on customer service. Please shop upstairs at the other tailor. Ps. I only suggested the tailor at the upper level because I did get better service from them. I stand by my review contrary to what Brian Schiller says in his post. You are entitled to your opinion but this is the experience I had with them and I would continue to strongly encourage not to go to them. The details of my experience with them was that I went to go get a button sewed back on to my dress shirt. I handed the loose button to the gentlewomen. What I didn't know was that there was a second button missing on my shirt on my cuff. So when I came back to get the shirt the gentlemen had sewed back the button on my dress shirt. The wife must have noticed that the button was missing on my cuff and sewed it back on but did not remember that I had originally came in for a button missing off the centre of my shirt. She used an extra button that was sewed on the inside on my shirt to complete the repair. So when I returned we were just having small talk at the register when I was told that that they had to use the button on the inside of the shirt to finish the repair. I replied I had returned the original loose button. She got offended that I said that I had given her a loose button. She said to say such was equivalent to saying that I was calling her a liar. But I returned the loose button so I repeated to her that I returned it to her. But she continued to get offended and escalated the conversation to yelling at me. Why? Over a silly little button?!?! But that what she did. Why would you yell at your customers over something so trivial? And why would I go back after being humiliated to that type of behavior? So know my poor post isn't suspicious and I have gone into detail to explain it since it was being called into question. And I am still upset about it because I don't deserve to be treated that way and no one else does either.

Poor Customer Service. Personally Attacked Customer. Blames Customer For Their Own Shortcomings. Several Mixups. Overview... Had 2 jacket zippers fixed. They fixed 1st without issue. 2nd jacket had to be returned as it broke again within the week. Lots of communication errors and when I went to pick up the jacket that needed the 2nd repair it wasnt ready 24 hours hours after the time they said it would be ready. Did not recieve a call to be notified. Staff were extremely rude and blameful and said many innapropriate things. See below for details. Lack of communication: Recieved several calls regarding the 2nd jacket. Stated they couldnt fix it... Then stating they could... The husband and wife both kept giving me conflicting information regarding the progress of the jacket. Unprofessionalism: When picking up my jackets the husband complained to me about all his bad google reviews and how people just complain about nothing. How stupid people are... Etc. Made for an akward conversation. Personal attacks: I will say they were kind enough to fix a rip in a seam that i had overlooked free of charge (I'm on maternity leave with my first child and thought to save a few dollars and just sew it myself afterwards.. I also explained that to them). The wife later used this as ammunition against me saying.., "yeah well you couldnt even afford it.. We did YOU a favor" when I asked for a partial refund for the fuss and lack of customer service. Felt very hurt by this comment. I never asked them to fix to tear! Her comment absolutely took me back and was completely innapropriate and felt like a very personal attack!!!! Dismissive: When returning the jacket to be repaired again I asked to confirm if the repair is free of charge as her husband had stated (he said 1 year free repairs if it breaks again)... She looked at my and said depends... Asked how she was going to fix this situation when I came in and the 2nd jacket wasnt ready... She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders several times in a very rude way. Blaming the customer for their errors: Tried to inadvertently blame me for their communication errors and reasons why the jacket wasnt ready. ... I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated with my experience if they had just called and told me in advance it wouldn't be ready on time, apologized for the inconvenience and took accountability in a professionaI manner. I can completely overlook a delay if staff are courteous and just communicate. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION.

5/5 Star - Correction: The owner promptly called me the same day and apologies for the misunderstanding and have refunded the difference. The owner was really professional and I'm happy we worked it out =) 1/5 Star - Not impressed. Took in 3 towels and curtains to get hemmed. The original receipt was $65 which is reasonable. Once I went to pick it up the woman said they didnt charge me correctly and my bill came out to $85. That's outrageous since there was no special hem trim. I won't be going back.

Came here for an alteration on my wedding dress. The owner is very professional and did a great job altering the length of my dress and adding more coverage to the front of the bodice. The seams were well maintained and overall I would definatly recommend his business. The prices are fair for work they are providing.

With the cold snap that was coming I knew I had to get my torn wi tee jacket repaired quickly. Having just moved to the neighbourhood it was the first place I went. They had it back to me the next day and you could t even tell it had been torn. This was no small tear either it was from pocket to armpit. This was my only winter jacket and because of their fast and friendly service I'm now able to not worry about being warm enough. I have been going to Best Fit Tailoring in Londonderry Mall for years to get my suits altered, even though I don't live in the area. The owner, Samad, used to work for a national suit company and was regarded as their best tailor. He can do stuff that other tailors simply butcher. It's worth driving across the City to find someone who knows what they are doing, especially for anyone who has special tailoring needs like me.

I have been customer at BFT over 4 years. You can't find quality work that you receive anywhere else, at the price that they are offering. This is my go to place for my expensive suits and leather jackets alterations although it is little bit further than other places from me. One time, I brought my old suit to get altered as I lost some weight, he told me honestly that he would make money by altering the suit, but it wouldn't be worth it for me as the suit was quite out of style. I really appreciate the such honesty and quality work they provide. :)

I took my vintage Priscilla of Boston (1950s) silk wedding dress to be altered by Samad. The dress was quite large when I recieved it and Samad made sure it fit me like a glove! They replaced a zipper for me, pictures show the old poor quality zipper and the new one they put on. I had realized I forgot to give them instructions but they did everything perfectly including providing a new zipper and sewing it on with very good quality. It looks better than from the store! The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Keep in mind they don't call you when it's done, just go in the store when your receipt says it'll be done.

I had a bumby wool sweater altered twice prior to best fit. Both places did a horrible job and the sweater was so uncomfortable that I couldn't wear it from of the work they had done. With the professional work done at best fit its a perfect fit now. I am a very happy customer from Start to finish with my experience going here. Often I am down to the wire with dry cleaning and need it done fast. Not to worry they will get it done in 24 hours or less and several times have made special trips for pick up.
