Just from the response of the owners towards customers with complaints I would not want to even go near this place. Telling people that write bad reviews that "we don't want customers like you" and "customers like you don't appreciate others hard work" tells me all I need to know about this place.

Went there to get our wedding clothes altered, which were originally made in India. The tailor back in India did a horrible job. Rita's alterations did a miraculous job. It got a bit pricey but no complaints because they had to redo the measurements all over again, which takes time and hard work, not to mention they finished it in 5 days! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone ????

Amazing customer service!! I called on Tuesday with a costume emergency that needed to be ready to wear Friday morning. I ordered a costume for my daughter from overseas and it was way too small. The first place I called said it was "impossible ". Then I called Rita's and was told that "anything is possible...just bring it in and we'll see what we can do". Well, by Thursday, it was finished and fit perfectly! Thank you so much for saving my daughters Halloween and school party!!

The guy does really good work but gets upset if you call him on a mistake .He is mostly never there. His wife doesn't do any sewing and she just sits in the shop while he is out. Rita use to own the place but she sold it to the guy, Rita i believe still works there.

This Tailoring Shop is one of the best in all of surrey probable the best in all of the lower mainland reasonable prices I came into Rita's with a deadline that no other tailoring shop could take in every tailoring shop that I had gone to turned me away said the deadline was impossible with the wedding season approaching and order like mine would not get done till three weeks I went to 5 places and they were quite rude as well , I had only three days till the wedding and I had to get a top made and petticoat for my sari I saw they were quite busy as well and thought I would be getting the same answer as all the other shops but rita and her husband heard me out and said that they could do it and they wanted to make me happy so sweet they made me feel so comfortable like family they sized me and said no problem they will do it so professional they got it done a day earlier then expected and even thought they were so busy with other dresses suits you name it they had it they took the time to finish my shirt and petticoat in awesome time I will be using them from now on the top is beautifully tailored and the petticoat is so well structured highly suggest this place to all my family and friends super amazing people and so professional. Thank You Rita's Family Alterations you guys are the best <3 .

Really efficient little lady who operates this small business. Basically can do almost any alteration that you need for a reasonable price. Has done some pretty funky alterations for me and has done her best not to complain about the ridiculous things I've requested :) I'm a big supporter of small local business and this is a good little shop for getting your clothes to fit just right

I would give 0 stars to this place. A guy name Steven was not just a cheating lying low class taylor if he is that at all but he took 60 $ from me for taking in the shoulder of a letter jacket and he didnt do anything only removed the stuffing. We mesured and I explained to him what i exactly wanted. A week later He told me it was a very difficult job and took them a long time. When i got home and looked it the lining it was a very disgusting job so I decided to fix it. I opened it up and I find out he did not touch the shoulder. I called in telling him how he can live with himself to take my money and doing nothing for it. He was still lying even in the phone. I thretened him to write a bad review everywhere and after some real bad yelling he finally offered to give my money back. I drove out to surrey 3 times for this jacket. This man should not let be work there. I never met Rita but I strongly recomend not to take your stuff there. Its dirty and bad service. Very disapointing that we cant trust people.

I had brought a dress in to have it shortened and add a slit for a wedding. The dress was a 2 layer, box/accordion pleated maxi dress and so it required more thought on how to add the slit. They worked with me so that it was exactly what I wanted. It was the best pricing around and they were fast. It turned out amazing and they were so accommodating. I will definitely be coming back!

I went there for my pants alterations and prices are way too high and my pants still doesn't fit me then i went to her again and i asked her to set it then she asked for more money. I'll never recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointed.

We went to Rita's Family Alterations to have my wedding dress and my husbands suit altered. My husbands jacket needed to be up-sized and my dress down-sized. Our experience was everything any customer could want. Their prices are unbeatable (literally, I received several quotes and none were as good as what we paid at Rita's), their customer service impeccable (they were friendly, personable, honest), and they finished the alterations at a speed I would never have anticipated/expected (both the gown and jacket were done in less than a week each). I'm also a seamstress and so I critically evaluated the work done after and it was of a great quality. I can't say enough good things about Rita's Family Alterations, they've made lifetime customers and advocates out of my husband and I. Special thanks to Steven for his wonderful work and service, more Engineers should do alterations!

I had a maxi dress I needed altered for a wedding I was attending. I visited 3 tailors prior to coming to Rita's & was told it wasn't possible to alter the dress in the way I needed. Rita's was able to alter it exactly how I wanted and did it within half an hour of my visit. Would highly recommend them.

Just a heads up, Rita has retired, and the business is now in someone else's hands. The prices have tripled, and you can't get receipts anymore, and it's still an all cash business. If you want something super simple, I'd suggest going elsewhere. Especially if you like to show up to pick something up mid afternoon during open hours, chances are there will be a sign saying they're gone for a few hours which is pretty frustrating. At least Rita would call you and tell you it was ready and give you a heads up on when she'd be out picking up fabric, etc.
