Expert Alterations is the bomb. I have gotten countless pants and jackets altered there over the years. Never had an issue. Even helped making shirt for my bowling team. I am moving out of the neighborhood, but will still travel to Expert Alterations.

Took my bridesmaid's dress in to be altered a few months ago. They got the work done really quickly! However, compared to what other bridesmaids paid to have their dresses altered, I think the cost was too much. I paid almost as much as I paid for the dress to have it hemmed and the neck taken up a half inch. This is double and in some cases, triple, what the other bridesmaids paid to have similar work done. They all visited tailors/seamstresses in the Kansas City area. I also could have used the zipper being fixed and the dress taken in, but with the work that was already being done costing what it did, I could not afford to have those things done as well. All in all, I think the work was completely fine, I just don't think I'll be returning.

Have taken several pieces of clothing to be tailored and they did a good job. Unfortunately, some time ago i paid about $320 to have 12 white sheer gauze panels (for 2 sets of sliding glass doors) hemmed to 108”. They were ALL uneven; kinda embarrassing since i have dark wood floors so it’s obvious. I called and they told me to bring them back in but i never did. Took longer thank what i was originally quoted, had to keep calling to check, then having to take them down (replace with plastic for privacy) and wait again was not convenient. Felt ripped off.

I disagree with the practice of towing vehicles from the shop's lot if the vehicle was parked there WELL AFTER THE STORE'S BUSINESS HOURS. Luckily I did not get towed and I will be a loyal customer of the tow company as a result. But I used to work for a parking and transportation department and the usual protocol is to allow vehicles to stay if they parked in the building lot after the regular business hours and thus are not impeding the income of the office/business or filling staff allotted spaces. The store hours listed online say this store closes at 6pm on weekdays. I parked there at 6:55pm. That is almost an hour after the official close of the business and because it is a small street with hardly any space for parking, it was literally the only place available at the time I got there for a popular vaccination clinic at a neighboring business that ended at 7pm. The noise of the tow truck's diesel engine further distressed the two cats I was carrying and I firmly believe the situation never had to happen. Don't worry, I'll never park there again even if I have all four of my pets with me and have to walk a whole block to get their medical care; but I believe the owner of this sewing store must have unfair expectations regarding lot space and I personally will not support any business that is so stringent on their parking policy that they want them empty at all times of the day even outside their business hours. So I will never go to this shop and will recommend my friends avoid it too. Too bad. I'm going to be a bridesmaid and the wedding party was shopping around for possible places to help. I guarantee won't be looking into this place.

I know am late but I want to say thank you for fixing my wedding dress. It was 1 month before my wedding and where I bought the dress they don’t do alterations they suggested a place that charged me half the price of the dress to fix it I googled and found this place I was very scared but didn’t have time but the result was great and the price reasonable I recommend this place.

Once again, these expert ladies have saved my life in time for a wedding. I highly recommend them, particularly if you are completely the wrong size and shape for a bridesmaid's dress. They did major alterations on mine in less than four days.

Convenient location and friendly staff, got an up front quote and they seem to be pricey. $25 to get suit pants cuffed, $40 to shorten sleeves on a suit jacket. I have 17 suits to get alterations but ill probably seek out another tailor or seamstress. I left 10 pairs, we will see how happy I am with the work for the price in about 10 days when they say the job will be complete. Update to come... starting to think I'd have been better off with a sewing machine and a youtube tutorial

If I could give NEGATIVE ONE MILLION BAZILLION stars, I WOULD. I have been here twice now, both times they have made my garments WORSE than they were before. They not only took forever to finish them, but when I got them back they were LITERALLY RUINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I specifically told them not to take my dress in in the waistline, and they took it in there and now it won't zip. I am now just chilling in my bedroom CRYING because my occasion is TOMORROW and my dress doesn't fit me. I can't return it now because they already sewed it, and I can't take it back out because they cut off the excess fabric. I WOULDNT WISH THIS ON MY GREATEST ENEMY!

Overpriced and not transparent about pricing. They stated one price and charged me for several other things that were “separate alterations.” Just would have been nice if they would have actually explained that up-front. Definitely not worth their high prices compared to other places that do amazing work, too.

I have to have custom suits and clothes (except for a few items). As a result, I've used every alteration and/or tailor shop in town (particularly those on either side of State Line(Plaza to Leawood). Expert Alterations is unequivocally THE best. The crew there excels in not only more typical alterations, but also in expert work, such as re-designing suits (e.g., altering older style suits -- pleated pants and padded shoulders -- to the more modern no-pleat, tighter fit style suits).
