I have taken clothes to be altered at Daniel's for a few years now and have always gotten great customer service but Richard and his mother recently helped me out above and beyond regular customer service. I flew into Halifax to have my wedding dress fitted at the wedding shop across the street only to find out that the tailor was actually on vacation. I called Daniel's Tailor in a panic (not even knowing if they did wedding dresses) and was told to bring my dress and they'd fit me right in. Not only did they give me suggestions and make me feel comfortable, they made sure that the dress was altered enough that I could try it on for size the Very Next Day. I was able to fly home knowing that my dress was going to be safe with them and also that it fits perfectly. I highly recommend Daniel's- It's obvious that they really care about their customers!!

This is my favourite tailor in the city. He always does a great job and is upfront about cost and timing. They're also offering custom masks now with a pocket for filters. The elastics wrap around your head, so no ear aches! And there is a plastic piece on the elastic to size it perfectly to your head. Highly recommend.

I have gone here a few times and 2 out of the 3 times I have been here, Richard didn't have my items ready. One time he literally could not find my items, so he told me to walk around the mall for an hour. He called me 20 minutes later to tell me he found them and when I went to pick them up, the woman working there told me that they couldn't find it because it was in a shopping bag. Seconds later, Richard comes to the till to tell me they couldn't find it because it was on the sewing machine being worked on.... Clearly they didn't discuss which story they wanted to tell. The other time I dropped a few items on May 16 and he said it wouldn't take any longer than 2 weeks. Came back on June 2 to find out that he hadn't worked on any of the items, so he told me to come on June 12!! He needs a month to work on 3 items. This man is SO disorganized and completely forgetful. I will NEVER go back here.

Incredible service! I have been going to Richard for a couple years now and he never ceases to impress me with his work! Yes it takes a little longer than normal and his prices are on the higher side for alterations but it’s worth every penny. So far he has altered over 10 suits for me and a couple shirts and the work is amazing. He is very good at what he does.

I highly recommend Daniels Tailors. Due to tight timelines, I had to buy my wedding dress off the rack. It was a size ten, but I needed a size two. With just weeks to go before my wedding, I arrived at Daniels Tailors with an ill-fitting dress that had been butchered by another so-called ‘wedding dress specialist’ tailor recommended by the boutique where I purchased the gown. Richard told me not to worry and assured me he could ‘make the dress perfect’, and boy did he deliver! He fixed all the previous tailor’s shoddy/incomplete work, and I left with a beautiful dress that fit like a glove and made me feel fabulous the day of my wedding! Many thanks Richard!

the owner himself was so rude and not professional to me when i consulted the detailed questions with the pants alteration. he had no patience to provide a good customer experience at all, actually was terrible. his attitude was like he thought himself as a High card Chanel fashion designer but obviously not. After the owner response, I decided to write down the details. In the Saturday afternoon of 9/11, my friend and me went to Daniels Tailors and looked for pants alteration. He asked me to change my pants, so he can observe to measure for the alteration. He then asked me what type of shoes I would wear usually. I said it depends on the situations. I would like the length of my pants touched the floor. He rolled up my pants afterwards. The first time I moved, he already showed no patience and said stop moving. After the second time measurement. Our conversation: (not exactly the same, but quite close) Owner: Check if that is ok. There is no other way to confirm whether the length of the pants rolled up by the owner would fit my expectation without turning my body around and look at the mirror. Me: I would like it to be longer. Owner: oh you moved! I told you don't move. Moreover, he turned around to my friend, and said: tell your friend(me) it is to the floor and let her don't move. Even he was rude, but I still tried to be polite at that time. Me: I know it touched the floor, but I prefer longer. The owner ignored my request, and kept talking to my friend: Tell her it is right to the floor! My friend: ok I will take a picture from the back for her and let her see more clearly. The owner even disregarded my friend's offer and started to be yelling in an arrogance way: Tell your friend to change the pants now.... At that moment, I cannot bear him anymore and said: I can understand what you are talking about. Then I went to change my pants. After I came out of the fitting room. The owner was gone without any explanation. I put his pin on the table and said: Thank you! I feel like there are other tailors store in Halifax have better customers services and being more professional than this one.

Mr. Daniel is a master of his craft. He knows what he is doing and works meticulously to nail the fit every time. He recently altered several of my suits, and my clothing has never fit so well. He also takes great pride in his work, with white glove service from start to finish. Hands down, he's the best tailor in town. Believe me when I say, you will not be disappointed.

Extremely rude. Very poor attitude. I brought a dress in to get it tailored. Completely ignored what I requested to get done to the dress instead said his idea is better. I brought my dress to a close by tailor and was quoted at 3 times less than what he quoted me for to get the dress tailored.

I went in to have a zipper replaced and the owner told me I just needed a new runner. Said it would cost 12 or 13 dollars. He told me to come back in 15 mins. When I came back he was just finishing and the zipper was better than new and it cost exactly what he said. Very happy! I went here because he has such a great reputation and I was not disappointed. Very passionate and knowledgeable about his profession. 5*+
