I took a chance at Royal Custom Tailor for a few pant alterations and have had no regrets. The owner, Soltani, is an artist and a gentleman. Also, it used to be that he was the head tailor for Harry Rosen Canada in a previous life and his expertise prove this. Moreover, he is very down-to-earth and a pleasure to do business with. Two birds with one stone, if you ask me.

I recently was looking for a trusted tailor who does buttonholes for suits and read the reviews on Royal Custom Tailors. Got my suit back in less than a week and the job was flawless. When I put my suit on, Soltani noticed that my suit sleeves were a tad longer (showing no shirt cuff. Thise who are sartorially aware know that suit sleeves should show some shirt cuff). I didn’t know this initially and should have tried the suit on before asking him to make the surgeons cuffs. I realized also that ALL my suits also had sleeves longer by a tad (all with surgeons cuffs). Shortening the sleeves can now only be done through the shoulder - a very difficult and tricky job that can only be done well by an expert tailor. I brought in my first batch of 4 suits and got them back today and I can’t say how impressed and happy I am with the workmanship. My suit looks exactly the same as it was when I bought it off the rack - shoulders look great and the lining inside looks clean, with the seams just as they were when I first bought it - AND now the suit sleeves are the correct length. I’ll be bringing the rest of my suits into him - highly recommended for those who are attentive to sartorial details. Highly recommended!

I have an old cashmere coat that was probably 3-4 times my size that I needed altered. This was not an easy job, as every single part of the coat needed to be fitted. Soltani was absolutely incredible! He did an amazing job and his attention to detail is excellent, it feels like a brand new coat. I will absolutely be returning.

When I picked them up, I was so impressed that I ran home to get a few more pairs for him to fix up! I don’t know why everybody on here is praising sultani. I came in with 3 jerseys but he only pinned 1 on me. I let that slide hoping he can eyeball the other two well. I called on Tuesday for pick up when he asked me to and he wasn’t done. He then told me to come back tomorrow but I was already in Toronto. He then rushed my garments to be finished that day for my arrival. I know he rushed because my jerseys are a ridiculous shape now. I’m going to another tailer and not back to this guy!

RCT was the only tailor I could find in Canada that could shorten the sleeves on a turtle neck sweater. I don’t even bother taking my clothes to anyone else, as their skill set and customer service would only pale in comparison. If you want a sweater altered in Canada, RCT is the only place that can help you.

I first became a client of Soltani's not long after he originally opened the doors of Royal Custom Tailor on Scollard Avenue. Considering I continue to exclusively use him for his premium tailoring services despite the overwhelming amount of choice when it comes to alterations and tailor shops in Yorkville, let alone Toronto, speaks volumes for his refined skillset and efficient business practices. Despite not living as close to the shop as I once did, I am still happy to travel across the city to visit him in his shop and hire him for his seamless tailoring services. There's nobody I would trust more to alter or create my garments than Soltani, and I will continue to work with him for as long as Royal Custom Tailor's doors are open.
