This Tailor belongs to the category of Tailor.
Needed pants hemmed on short notice for an event. They were ready on time and were the perfect length.
This is the absolute worst tailor shop I have ever been to. The alterations were supposed to be done on Wednesday and when we showed up they weren't done. So we returned on Sunday and once again the clothes were not ready. The tailor also lost the belt loops on the back of our pants and said we will have to take them back without belt loops. We argued with the tailor and said these pants are for a wedding and need a belt and she needs to fix the belt loops. The lady then made loops that were not the same and not centered to the pants. The stitching is awful and now my partner will need to wear the pants with his shirt not tucked in for the wedding. The lady was incredibly rude and rushed all her work. She made us sit there waiting for 3 hours and kept saying 15 more minutes. Several customers came in during our time waiting arguing with the tailor that their clothes weren't completed as well. I will never return to this tailor. Would rather travel a far distance for quality work in a timely manner with positive customer service. If you want good alterations avoid this shop.
Was not ready when it was promised and they tapered my jeans WAY too much. I asked to go from a 15 cm leg opening to a 13 cm opening and they brought it down to 11 cm. They pinned them on my legs and everything but then sewed them completely different. They basically ruined a pair of $300 pants. couldn't have been a worse experience. overall late on delivery and did terrible work.
Not sure why the reviews are so bad. My sister got her prom dress altered here (sides taken in) and it only took a week. I got my pants taken in as well. The owner is a bit blunt and straightforward but gets the job done and is overall a sweet lady.
Very good experiences here. They have done excellent work tapering my work shirts. Also have had pants hemmed here and were nicely done. All done in good time!
TERRIBLE! I wish I had read the reviews first!!!!! I dropped off my brides dress nearly 2 weeks ago, was given a date of the saturday before my departure date. I showed up, i'll be it, 2 days late, and the item was still NOT ready. She then had to run home to get it and would call When ready as I was heading out to airport, so I hung back to wait. I am currently on my way to the airport! And she had the gaul to say no to a discount as she "...figured I didn't need to finish it, as you didn't come on Saturday" and "it was a lot of work for me!" Ummmm what?!!! You finish a job on time regardless. Maybe get a proper filing system too while you're at it "Debbie Rae".
She does a great job and good prices
Good store. Good service.
Brought in a shirt to get stitched up (simple job) They said come back in 4 days. When I come to pick it up, they couldn't find my shirt, so they said come back 5 days. I come back in 5 days day they found it but still have not fixed the hole! After that I come back in a month to pick it up and guess what STILL NOT DONE! so I took it and left. Terrible costumer service would not recommend coming here at all!!!!
DO NOT take your clothes here for alterations. I took 2 golf skorts there towards end of July. I was told they would be ready in 5 days. Went back 4 more times. 7 weeks later they were done but she made a mess of one skort. And now I won't be able to wear them until next summer. I will never go back!!!
She's a Christian with good work ethics????
NEVER AGAIN the worst service ever! a month and a half to make a pillow case and in the end I just took the material back. I also had some shorts fixed here and it took forever. She tells you to come back over and over again and it's not ready. NEVER AGAIN
This place does not even deserve one star if I could give no stars I would. The worst service I have ever experienced. She did not have our stuff ready and originally said 8 days and it was over a month and it was not done. She does not care at all and has no customer service skills at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else.
Wow, From reading all these reviews I am a little shocked. I got my prom dress fixed at this place. I brought it in and told her to fix it for me by this date and she didn't. I went into the next day and she finally got it fixed. She even delivered it to my house which was definitely appreciated. I guess I am sort of a lucky customer since most of these reviews on here are all negative. I wish I read the reviews before I went into that store. Who knows what could of happened with my prom dress. Thanks for delivering it to my house.
I had a horrible experience here and will NEVER go back! I dropped a dress off for alterations for my wedding and had to go back 4 times and she still didn't have it done. On the fourth time she tried to lie and say that she took it home to work on it and she would deliver it to me at home. When I told them I was NOT leaving that store without my dress they got all flustered and hid in the back room for 5 minutes. She then came out of the back pretending that she just found it and saying she would have it done in "five minutes", to which I replied give me my #&(^%$&** dress! She handed it to me and laughed. No apology, no attempt to make it right. I am thoroughly disgusted with this store, will never go back and I am advising everyone else to never go there! Any chance I can, I am telling people to never go there! Please use other, more reliable and friendly tailors that are capable of doing the job and know and understand the importance of giving good customer service!
If you have a wedding to go to, and you want to use Debbie's services (tailoring), because no-one else in this town is very professional either, plan very well in advance: 5 - 6 months, so you don't take a stroke. If she says it will be ready in two weeks, add 6 weeks to that. Then call before you go in to collect your tailored goods. She'll tell you the new (fake) deadline. "Is our children learning?". You'll get a product eventually. Plan ahead and you'll be okay.
Debbie was pleasant to do business with and did a great job adding a zipper to my favourite bag. Thank you Debbie!
The best place to go in Chilliwack for alteration and next door is the Cleaner with most reasenable price!!!????
I got some pants hemmed there today. The staff was friendly, the work was done on time, and it was under ten bucks.
Great friendly service. Used this shop many times and the work was always done on time.
Absolutely horrible! I took in some pillow covers to have some trim sewn on on Thursday. She looked closely at both the covers and the trim and told me $14 for both. I was told they would be ready Tuesday. Went in Tuesday, they're not done. Told to come in Wednesday because she would take them home. Went back Wednesday, still not done. Told to come back Thursday (today). Went in today and still not done. Now she's telling me she tried but it would have to be by hand which is total BS. She never even tried. The pillow covers were still folded in half with the plastic tag going through both side so it can't be unfolded with out cutting it and removing it. I pointed that out and now all of a sudden the material is to slippery to do. Again BS. Not only will I NEVER go there again. But I will tell people exactly what type of business she's running.
Absolute horrible business. I went in there on a Wednesday to buy a skirt. She offered to make one, said it would be done on Friday. I show up on Friday and she forgot about it. I return on Saturday, no product. Go back on Monday and it’s not done. I go back on Tuesday for TWO visits and it’s not done. I told her I needed it done by Tuesday evening and now I needed to go find something for that evening. I return on Wednesday because I still wanted my product that I ordered and she said she didn’t complete it because I went to find something else. I really enjoyed the skirts but this is very unprofessional to keep me waiting and make 5 trips to the store and not receive my skirt
Satisfied and will return..
Don’t bring your items here. I was told a week and it wasn’t done when I came in. Told to wait another two days and again when I came in wasn’t done. This happened a total of 4 times being told it wasn’t done by the fourth time it had been 3 weeks and still wasn’t completed. When I asked for the dress back it hadn’t even been started! It was a total waste of time to go in and be told it wasn’t done time after time. I will never be bringing any clothing to be altered here again.
It was either Debbie Rae's at the Chilliwack Mall or it was Sedreh's at Cottonwood. Both had their share of bad reviews... Debbie Rae's was great. I needed a small alteration. Jacket was ready on time and the price was very reasonable.
Business is good at the job they do however they aren’t very good with time management as the store was suppose to open at noon and I’m still standing outside a store that still isn’t open waiting to pick up my already paid for item… not impressed
Great place
She is super slow. She will keep changing dates when something is ready. Charged way to much to let dress out and the corset the looks like something I would do. When my now husband went to pick up rented suit she decided she now couldn't pin it. I could go on and on.
Horrible experience! Be prepared for your item not to be done on time. I dropped my item off for a simple repair and came back after 2.5 weeks, explaining that I would be out of town until then. Debbie accepted the item and said it would be done at that time. I went in to pick it up with my child and it was not done and she said she would have it done the following day. I went back the following day with my child and yet again it was not done!! There was another gentlemen in line who was having the exact same issue as I was, as his item was not completed properly. Debbie told me for now the third time that she would have it done for later that day and call me. She never called me and it wasn’t done for the third time when I went in again and she never even had the decency of calling. I stated that out of fairness and good customer service practice that the item (which was only $3) should not come with a cost. Well, Debbie Rae became angry and insisted the money! I was shocked by this considering the struggles I had with a child in tow and my driving back and forth I had to make for a simple repair. Also her lack of professionalism by not making contact to whether the item was completed and having me come there several times. Horrible horrible professionalism and customer service. The item was sloppily sewn together and you can tell it was rushed. She disorganized and very unethical! It’s all about money for her and not good customer service!!!!
This little shop has always been very fairly priced, quick and accurate with all my trailoring. It's my go to place.
Poor service. Was told to pick up on Saturday giving the store four days to hem and slight alteration dress for my sons wedding. Returned on Saturday, first couldn't find my dress then told to come back at three. I couldn't come back but promised it would be done for Noon on Sunday. Arrived to find the store open but no seamstress. The dress wasn't there so clerk tried calling to find out finally owner arrived. Dress not done and after a loud discussion I was told I was a bad customer and given the dress back because I wanted to pay only half for all the time I had wasted on returning to the store. I will never go back there.
Worst experience ever!! Quoted me a price of $12 per item (I had thirteen items) then they didn't fit then. I brought them back for the fix then was charged another $8 per item. When I said that's not fair, she literally started yelling at me in front of everyone at the mall. So embarrassing! And it took two months. I highly do not recommend this lady.
I needed my zipper repaired as it had fallen off the rail. When I dropped it off, the owner said that she can fix and it would take a few days. I got a call later that night that it was fixed and good to go. Now, when I picked it up it turns out she cut out the previous zipper and did a Frankenstein job and botched the new zipper with new seems and a different shade of fabric. I didn't authorize any of this and now my pants are ruined. I'm so disappointed and I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Top notch personal service. The owner is always very pleasant and helpful to deal with.
Horrible experience with this little shop and was not reliable. The general service was crap, was told my dress would be completed by a Saturday, and so I come in and she goes and tells me it's not done and she forgot to order the piece to fix and to come back Monday. I didn't want to waste gas driving back and forth so I called to see how it was going and if it was done on the Monday. It was not and she asked me to come in for Tuesday saying it would be for sure complete. So I go in and she tells me she still doesn't have the right piece, so she said by 3pm that day it'd be done. I came before I had to start working and was angry to see she didn't have it done. After having been sent to wait 3 times, without meeting her deadline, I wasn't waiting so I took my dress back and went to another tailor shop. Will never come by here again, wouldn't recommend this place for others.
Excellent service....fast repairs
I agree with most. I had used her for years. During the past 2 years it just went down hill. Excuses, excuses for items not being ready. I hope this was just a rough patch she was going through.
We’ve been going to Debbie Rae’s for over 25 years and always had excellent service, we recommended Debbie Rae’s to many people over the course of many years and never received any negative comments, we will keep going there for any kind of alterations and repairs. We like the jobs and services.
Purchased a new suit. The owner found the jacket and pants that fit perfectly and hemmed the pants all within 30 minutes of me walking into the shop. She’s amazing!
I've been taking alterations here for a couple years now, the owner even knows me by name. Always pleased with the work that's completed, but if I bring in something other than a hem on my jeans, I usually have to call in and check if it's done. They seem really busy and can get backed up sometimes. Well priced in my opinion, typically $10 to hem my dress pants. Other than not getting a few things done by the day it's booked for, they get the jobs done that I can't do myself.
Read the reviews before taking my tonneu cover there to have it repaired so wasnt surprised when it wasnt done by the promised date. Told to come back in 30 minutes but said I will come back next day. Waited an extra day and returned. Still not done. lol. So Debbie got on it and had it sewn in 5 minutes. Cost was 10% what another leather repair place wanted. So great price but dont expect things to get done when told. Only go there if you're not in a rush to get things fixed.
great service and very good work
