I bought an affordable suit for my wedding day and it didn't quite fit my frame perfectly. I took it to Stitch It at Metrotown and I was helped in a professional manner, I was asked for my opinion, and the woman (sorry, didn't get her name) also suggested I take the sleeves of the shirt and jacket up. My suit was ready for pickup sooner than expected, and the woman and James were there to greet me. James was wonderful, told me I looked like a whole new man, and packed my suit up for me. Wonderful service and outcome, and it was way more affordable than I had even imagined! I basically got a custom tailored suit for an amazing price, and experience. I've already referred a few friends to get their clothes altered there too

I purchased a bridesmaid's dress online & when it arrived, you could fit two of me in it comfortably. The ladies at Stitch It have saved every one of my formal gowns in the past so I rushed to the mall. They were able to cut my dress in half & managed to make it look even more beautiful than when it arrived. They are so friendly & professional & boy, do they make you feel like a goddess with all the compliments while they take your measurements (even after you've put on a little covid weight). I always have & will always continue to take all of my delicate alterations to Stitch it.

They ripped my jacket pocket during their tailoring process and wouldn't fix it because it wasn't related to the services I initially paid for. I asked them to repair it and was told that it would be a separate charge -- for damage resulting from their error! Despite my protests, they denied any wrongdoing and were unapologetic and confrontational in defending their faults, telling me it was my fault even though I haven't worn the jacket from the time they "fixed" it for me initially. Their services are mediocre at bested atrocious at worst and the convenience of their location does not outweigh the egregious customer service and expensive rates. "Disappointed" doesn't even begin to describe my attitude towards this business.

I brought jeans in to be hemmed and taper, they didn't taper them. When I brought them back to be fixed, I was told it would be another $20. I asked that they not charge me and was told a manager would have to decide. I let them know to call me if I was going to be charged. They never called and never tapered the jeans. They just held onto them for a week and now I'm left with jeans I still cannot wear.

Terrible, got oil on my satin Pj's that I brought it to be hemmed. The job was supposed to take one day and took three. And as far as I'm concerned they didn't get all the oil out upon inspection there was stains in the inside of Pj's at the hem they said it was not oil I was told it was the chalk they used to mark where to hem. Oh and they made me pay full price will never use them again and would not recommend them...

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A TAILOR EVER! DO NOT GET YOUR ALTERATIONS HERE. I had a Victoria Secret Bikini altered here on June 24, 2020 and when I got it home i realized the bikini had been cut in the wrong place and sewed back together backwards and twisted! I called the store to complain and the women was SO RUDE. Could have done a better job myself with kitchen scissors and a sewing needle. Save your money.

Craziest Experience! Hours before a wedding, a family member experienced a problem with her zipper on her dress and was desperate to find help. The three of us travelled and looked for places that were open, and fortunately found Stitch It. The woman there was wonderful and squeezed us in time for us to be able to make it to the wedding ceremony and fixed the zipper. My wife searched her wardrobe and found a beautiful shoulder-less evening gown, she thought she could update and it would be perfect. She brought it into Stitch-It Fairview (Pt. Claire, Qc), and the ladies turned it into exactly what she had in mind. Not only was end-result professionally finished, the turn-around quick, and the price very reasonable - but they went the extra mile !! Choi realized that with the excess material, they could make a matching shoulder cover thingie - PERFECT for an early Spring wedding !!! Brilliant !

The lady looked at them once and said she didn’t want to do it because it would be too much work … despite this being her job, she did not want to even try. Very unprofessional, didn’t offer any sort of compensation for what she could do to the jeans, just said “no I’m not doing that, it’s too much work” over and over and then walked away in to the back room. Expensive and I guess they’re always busy because they told me it would be one week til pick up, when I said I’ll go somewhere else they said I can pick up tomorrow. Over all I was dissatisfied with the service and I will not be taking back any clothing for alterations Came back an extra day after pick up was supposed to be, waited over 10 minutes for the lady to find my pants, she pulled them down and said they are not ready and I should come back in one hour. Pretty inconvenient since I only came to the mall to get my pants. Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. You’re better off finding a small alteration place that doesn’t take on more than they can handle

Wanted me to pay beforehand to alter my dress despite their policy which says you can pay at pick up (and others also paying at pick up) then chasing me down the mall after I picked it up because they forgot I already paid. On top of that my dress ripped from where they hemmed it. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.

My experience was amazing with stitch it at the Fairview mall. They were able to tailor my corduroy pants that were way too big. A lot of tailors told me that it was impossible to fix my pants because they were corduroy, but stitch it found a way to fix them. NEVER RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS BUSINESS. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO STITCH A NOTCH. I dropped 3 shirts for simple alterations. It was still brand new and imported. I paid for purchase and for import tax. Two of them were long and just needed to get them shorter at two different levels for front and back. I explained what I need and the lady put pins and I made sure that they knew what I wanted. When picked them I found that they have cut them at same level then get a piece of that part and stitch it back. Why would you cut it like that at the first place??? One of shirts were not even at front and is already cut shorter than I requested. That can’t be fixed it is already shorter than the other side. So poorly done! Never recommend!

My best experiences are with the owner of the Stitch It in St Catharines Pen Center. She is accommodating and friendly. All my alterations have been in a timely fashion and usually ready for pick up when set. I have had some of the staff not be as people friendly but they are professional and they work hard. They have always done excellent work for me and when I needed something extremely fast due to circumstances beyond my control they have always come through. A+++

I had been going to the Stitch It at Southgate for many years- but now the owners and staff have all changed. They have ruined my 250.00 Burberry raincoat, they also ruined my Work jacket. The Service is atrocious, rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER go back! When I showed them the horrible job they did the only answer they gave was " the machine is old, so it's the machines fault" the manager said " I won't give you your money back!" Save time and money- DONT GO HERE! Unless you want sleeves that are different lengths.

Thank you!!! I called ahead on Saturday to repair a zipper on my Parka. Turns out there is more than one "Stitch It" in Metrotown (I mistakenly went to the location near Old Navy). Not only did they match the quote I was given, they also matched the timeframe (1 hr). Quite a feat when there was a line up and the were obviously slammed. I dont live on the mainland and didn't know a good tailor but needed my winter jacket fixed before heading back to the island. Not only were they kind and honest (price/time matching) they did an absolutely beautiful job, not a single stitch out of place! Thank you so very much!!!

I went here to get a new zipper for my winter coat. The lady who worked there was happy to accommodate (I didn't get her name, but she sounded European) and made suggestions that I was really happy with. The price was about $35 (cheaper than a new coat) and my coat was done in about 2 days. I was very happy! The lady was very nice on drop off and pick up and was happy to do what I asked. I would use them again! I don't know why the reviews are bad on here for this place. Maybe they changed Management or associates, because I was quite satisfied.

A couple years ago, I took in a leather jacket to get the sleeves shortened. The fitting was straightforward - a lady marked where the sleeve should be shortened to with clamps. However, when I picked up my jacket, the tailor proudly informed me that he decided to shorten my sleeves a different way. He shortened the sleeves at the shoulder, instead of at the bottom of the sleeve as I had discussed with the original lady. This meant that he opened up multiple major seams in the leather itself, not just the lining. Had he informed me beforehand that he wanted to use this method, I would have flatly refused. The once neat-and-tidy original factory shoulder seams were now bumpy, and the zipper at the bottom of the sleeve was now too far up my arm. He also mis-aligned some of the sleeves' seams, so that some original stitch holes are visible. The first photo shows an original seam; the second photo shows a seam that was opened and then restitched. I let him know that I was not satisfied with this alteration which was not discussed with me, and he acknowledged that he should have asked me first. I was absolutely upset. He offered to alter it again to "fix it", but I had no faith in his ability. Avoid this place at all costs. Yes, I am still mad after two years.

I went in to add a simple 2.5 inch round patch on a jacket .first thing is ,the delay was absolutely ridiculous 3 days for a 10 min job and when I got it back , it was dirty, flighty full of small threads all over . It wouldn’t have bothered me if it was dirty in the first place but I wanted it to be présentable so I got it cleaned before hand. The delay could have been overlooked but the cleanliness of this local business is unacceptable.The greeting wasn’t kind nor was there was my exit . Do not recommend at all , run for your life.

I went to have my suit altered (sleeves extension and pants hemming). I have been received politely and the man explained to me what was possible. I asked to have it ready within 4 days. One day later I receive a notification that it is ready for pickup! I tried it once back home and I am delighted. They did a great job and even did extra work on the garments to make it look neat. I brought my expensive pant to be fixed they ddidn' do a good job. So I brought it back and the lady a Chinese lady said that she would fixed it and she did when she gave it back to me she said "NEXT TIME DONT COME AND COMPLAINT LIKE RHAT TO GET A FREE JOB DONE " I WAS SO UPSET IM STILL UPSET I told her that I have the money to pay her that I don't need to complaint to get something for free . She said that the job done before costed 5 bucks when I actually paid $11 . After getting upset and telling her if she liked it I would pay it she stayed quiet . You have a store because of us the customers . If you tratt your custstcus like that what can we expect from the service . I would never come back here . I wish I would have never been. I would have preferred to pay those 11 dollars to someone to treat their customers better . Be careful people don't even bother to go there .

I have gone to many tailors and alteration shops over the years, and I would definitely have to say that most experiences were lacklustre, at best. The first time that I tried out Stitch-it, inside of Metrotown, I had just picked up a few jackets and pants from around the mall, all of which required a number of alterations. Blindly trusting tailors that I have never worked with before was a stretch for me, but the convenience was too good to pass up. A week later, I arrived to pick up the lot of garments left in their care, and I was extremely satisfied with their workmanship. Having this positive experience in hand, I developed a very good relationship with the gentleman, James Nguyen, and worked with him on a number of the wardrobe additions that followed. The atmosphere that James and his coworkers create, is one of positivity, filled with bubbliness from start to finish. This vibe, in addition to the staff's exceptional work and effort put in to making me feel and look my best, compels me to very easily recommend James & Stitch-It. I look forward to working with them again soon!

Very poor service. Suit was brought in on Saturday and wasn’t ready on time on Wednesday. It was supposed to be ready by 4pm and at 7pm she was still working on them. Pants were slightly longer than expected. Seam was very visible on the pants. The lady told me they had an issue with their machine and to come back the next day but I unfortunately couldn’t as I needed the suit for Friday and had something preventing me from coming on Thursday. I still wonder why they waited for the last minute to work on this since they had 4 full days. Will definitely not come back. My first experience did not impress me at all.

I was greeted by an extremely friendly person, I believe his name is Will, and we discussed what I wanted along with the woman who would do the work. I was randomly in the mall one day and decided to stop by and get an estimation on a repair on my jacket, they quoted me $60 plus tax and to buy fabric for the jacket. when i officially brought it a week later the price went from $60 to $115, took them 3 weeks to repair. when i went to pick up my jacket, the jacket wasnt even in a bag, the buttons werent attached properly, the jacket just looked dirty and its a white jacket. dry cleaning wasnt done and when i asked about it they told me would take another 10 days like WHAT!!! Never again!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! TERRIBLE WORK, THE ONLY REDEEMING FACTOR IS THAT THEY DIDNT RUIN THEM SO BADLY THAT THEY COULDNT BE FIXED! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! Where to begin... I baught a pair of dress pants to go with a blazer I baught but they didn't have my size so I baught a bigger pair to be altered to my size. I called to get a quote for the alterations that needed to be done and the price seemed reasonable so a few days later I went thinking I knew the cost. I tried the pants on, the woman pinned them and then took me to the cash and the price was almost double what I was quoted on the phone! However I was already there so I decided to go through with it anyways. No call to let me know when they were done so I go back 2 weeks later assuming they had forgotten to call back and they handed me my pants and move on to the next person, no checking the fit to make sure the work was good. BIG MISTAKE! I took my pants home and tried them on and the fit was TERRIBLE!!! They were still too big in the waist and they were doing a wired wrinkly saggy thing in the butt. Now I need to take them to another seamstress and pay more money just to fix their mistake! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

The service here is TERRIBLE. I came here a year ago and asked for a hem on a pair of jeans and also taking in a dress shirt. This old short lady was SO RUDE! She gave me attitude and walked away... one year later which was a week ago I came back hoping they had changed their employees and focused on better customer service. Unfortunately the same old lady was working, I approached her and asked her to hem my sleeves on my dress. I asked her if she could have it ready within 7 days, she rudely said it will take four weeks... WHAT KIND OF TAILOR SHOP IS THIS, A HEM ON A SLEEVE DOES NOT TAKE FOUR WEEKS. After they pinned my pants, I asked them what will happen if it’s not satisfactory, the man there said don’t come here again if you don’t trust us and then I left. Hahahaha the store ruined my day. By the way the guy who works there needs to learn that it is important to work with people and talk to them as human beings. So much attitude , poor manners both face to face and over the phone and a sense of unhappiness for a borderline mediocre alterations. My friend and I had two bridesmaids dresses altered. One only required hemming for too much length; turned out acceptable. Second dress.. we had a sash removed along with hemming. The first time we returned to grab the dresses.. there was a stain & the sash removal wasn't done very well.. The lines didn't match up & there were still strings sticking out. The bottom "frill" was sewn into the dress. Understandable the first time. Benefit of the doubt. Pandemic has everyone off their game. The second time we went to pick up the "fixed" dress.... there was still a frill or layer (will attach picture) sewn into the dress. Stain was removed though.. (She made sure to make that very clear.) The same mistake twice, or it wasn't fixed the first time? Took 30 minutes for the 3rd attempt & it's now passable. As a brand new mom with a tiny baby.... the multiple trips weren't easy, even with the two of us. We were offered 10 percent off our next alteration for our troubles & a very passive "sorry." I'm so glad that it seems most people have had a good experience here.. just wasn't the case for us sadly.

And it was registered under somebody else name and phone number !! Got charged 10$ extra for my jacket pocket and back...and it wasn't done. If you like being stared at while you try on your dress and receive glaring eyes and uncomfortable remarks than this place is perfect for you. I do not know if the lady wearing a hijab is the owner or an employee but she was very unprofessional. My girlfriend was trying her dress on for New Year's Eve and this woman was so uncomfortable measuring her that it made us even more uncomfortable. The dress was classy and not at all what one might call "inappropriate". She ended being someone that knew my family so she went as far as to wait until we left the premises and then call my mother and complain that the dress was inappropriate!! Talk about personalised customer service! We will never return to this location and I hope this review will guide others accordingly. If you're the owner lady then I suggest you change your attitude and service if you want to succeed in a diverse society as the one we live in. If you're just an employee then I hope your boss sees this review and acts accordingly.

I've been a customer since 2017 and even though that I admit to be picky, I've never been more satisfied with the quality of alterations since I start having my clothes altered at Stitchit. I actually live in downtown and I go to Metrotown specially to get my alterations done there as I trust their quality of work and honestly don't want to risk ruining expensive clothing on a botched alteration somewhere else. James Nguyen was really nice and honest about what could be done about the vest. To my surprise, the vest turned out better than I had thought. James definitely went above and beyond. I went in to get a stitch repaired on a seat cover for a vehicle I was working on. When I called originally the manager Rediat Kiros was very friendly, and got me in same day to fix the cover. When I got there I was met with a smile and good conversation. She dropped her work that she had booked in and fixed the seat cover on the spot and in a fast time. You couldn’t even tell that the stitch had come loose. The job was perfect. I would highly recommend anybody that needs any alterations done to go see Rediat and her staff. Walked in and the girl working barely acknowledged me from 10+ feet away. I asked if they replaced broken zippers. Still standing 10+ feet away blurted a price, when she hadn't even seen what type of clothing I had that required fixing. Finally came over when I pulled out the item and mumbled something that meant she couldn't fit it because she didn't have a black zipper. Well how are you so sure that I wanted a black zipper as I could have settled for any other type. So a year ago I moved from BC to Toronto. I was worried that I wouldn’t find a seamstress that would do proper work for me because I have special needs. (Wheelchair user) My last guy back home was very patient and took the time to make everything perfect for me. I met Donald at StitchIt (Yonge and Bloor) and he has been absolutely amazing! He not only takes care of my alterations but he will help me fix odd stuff on the spot when it’s an emergency. He is someone that I highly recommend and will be going to him for as long as I live in Toronto.

I took a dress in couple weeks ago to get the arms shortens and the sides of the waist taken in. The lady's name is Julie (emp#334899). She told me the cost is $60 so I paid and left. When I came to pick up the dress (silky material), there were damages (nits and scrapes) all over the dress (front, back, arms, everywhere). Not only that, the alterations were so poorly executed. The arms weren't straight. They were all wonky. The seams don't line up. I honestly can't believe how horrible it is. I told her i was not happy with it and there were damages all over the dress. This dress was over $300. Her response was, "you said this was a cheap dress, so I gave you cheap discount." Firstly, I never said those words. She was making stuff up to cover up her mistakes. She told me to come in on Tuesday to talk to her manager. Overall, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EXPENSIVE GARMENTS. The lady that helped me was not professional. She raised her voice, she was defensive, she denied the damages and was absolute ZERO help at all. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

I have been their customer for number of years & I was satisfied with the work esp. one lady who did my alterations. Couple months ago I brought a blouse to be fixed, simple and quick work but it took me five trips to have it finally done properly. Each time I came it was either not done yet, or it was not properly altered. Once they even misplaced it, couldn't find it. I wasted my energy, money on travelling and it caused me a lot of stress. Service over the phone was disgustingly rude , I decided to go there in person because it was close and maybe I just caught the lady in an off mood , however when I walked in she snapped at me and told me that I was am idiot for not bringning the shoes that I am wearing ( when I had already asked her over the phone if I needed them , having never had anything hemmed ) then continued to tell me that it's going to be $200 to take an inch off my dress and that I couldn't afford it anyways . I had a dress that was too long and the bust was way to big, when I tried it on so they could pin it for alterations he kept pulling it down so the waist would sit on my hips and telling me that the bust was not too big (because of the way he was pulling it down) Was only willing alter the length but wouldn't let me sit the waist of the dress on my actual waist so I couldn't see what the actual length would be, so I couldn't even get an accurate length alteration.

LOWEST QUALITY OF STITCHING YOU CAN EVER SEE! I paid $42 to get dress cut shorter! The dress length was the same but the worst part of it is that the stitching was ripping off! DO NOT GIVE THIS STORE YOUR BUSINESS FOR ANY REASON. I took a brand new $250 pair of jeans, never worn with tags still on here for a hem as my regular tailor is across town and it was a busy week. I thought it would be fine as a hem is an easy alternation and wow was I wrong. I dropped the jeans off on Tuesday November 24th 2020 and picked up Friday November 27th. When I went to pick up the lady handed them to me and immediately walked into the back which should have been my first clue. After getting home later that day I went to try them on - I noticed right away the stitching was crooked on the hem and one leg was shorter than the other which kind of seems like one of the things you should probably get right on an alteration. Rather than take them back and risk having them messed up further, it now being the weekend I had time and took them to my real regular tailor to see if she could fix them. My regular tailor sent me the attached picture after taking apart the seams to try and fix the hem. Absolute and utter garbage quality of work - one leg is nearly half an inch shorter than the other and they were not cut evenly across. If you look closely you can see where the stitching was as well and exactly how crooked it was. This place has no business performing any type of alterations, let alone charging money for them. Because one leg was cut so much shorter than the other and crooked they cannot be fixed without the inseam becoming too short and are unwearable. Thank Stitch It for ruining a brand new pair of jeans and for being completely incompetent when it comes to alterations.

I have been going to this Stitch It for years, since they were in the Manulife Centre. They have always been accommodating and professional, and very, very reliable. I recently took in a pair of $300 Italian grey flannels to be taken in following a weight loss this year. I was frankly prepared for these alterations to be a challenge for them, since my new size is dramatically different than it was a year ago. I was attended by the lovely Farah, who always does such magnificent work. I just tried the trousers on this evening, and they look like they were custom made for me. I cannot recommend this Stitch It highly enough. They are nothing if not one of Toronto's hidden gems. A+++ in ever way.

Pretty great. I needed to get my sleeves shortened an inch on my work polo, and it was measured and done in time ready for the next day. I came an hour early and it was ready. Great service! But also, it is a little pricey i got charged 30$ just to reduce size of polo sleeve by an inch or so. So I guess that’s the only downside, I usually can get it done somewhere for less than 15$. Cashier person was awesome Otherwise, will definitely visit them again to adjust work uniforms to fit better.
