Completely desapointed. I stayed 1 year to finish a blazer and in the end it looks like a cheap blazer. I would never recomend to someone.

Guy Ilott (My Running Mind)

Outstanding service and very skilled staff. If it’s fine cloth, top tweeds and superb service you are after then you must pay the chaps a visit. Bloody brillant!

Bought a three piece suit a fair few years ago but forgot to review. better late than never. Great suit, I had a few specific things I wanted incorporated into the suit, they went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and gave me useful advice. brilliant service for a brilliant price.

I got a suit from these guys 9 years ago for my wedding. It was a gift from my parents. The fitting was a pleasant enough experience. When I first tried on the trousers they were approximately 1½ inches too short. It was a pretty shocking error. At the time I recall thinking how the measurement had been taken very casually. That was remedied. I can't recall how now. I think they let out every spare mm of hem, and the trousers ended up ever so slightly too short, but acceptable. The finished suit looked fantastic and I was very pleased. Unfortunately it transpired that the suit was poorly made. Certainly it has aged much worse than any other suit I have owned. Inside a year, the interlining in one lapel soon came unglued, or unstitched, and rucked up inside, creating a lump that was fairly unnoticeable but I suspect would be glaring to people who know suits. More fundamentally, the fabric (if I recall correctly one of their mid-range at the time) was defective - and within a couple of years started to accumulate holes. At first I thought these were moths - which was a shock as I take reasonable precautions: lots of cedar wood cubes and regular airing - and no other suit I own (all wool), on the same rail, has suffered any such problem before or after. Since then both trousers and jacket have developed more holes, and as I say, it seems it's a defect in the fabric. I stopped wearing the trousers after the first holes appeared in them, and have worn the jacket on its own a handful of times. Today I got the jacket back from the dry cleaners who explained that a large section of the interlining in the chest has come away and it needs taking to a tailors. The jacket is worn at many seam meeting points, and together with the small holes its faults combine to make this jacket no longer viable. I suspect I wore the suit 5 times at most, and the jacket on its own after that 2 or 3 times more. Overall its been a bitter disappointment, and an source of discomfort as my parents ask about it, why I don't wear it to family events etc and I haven't wanted to tell them we were duped. In my opinion, at that time they were relatively new, and I suspect their business model was to put a "Saville Row" front on top of a outsourcing business sourcing fabrics and tailoring from the Far East. I don't have a problem with that, but I had assumed a degree of additional quality control, on fabric and manufacture, that, in hindsight, I just don't think was there. Things may have changed in the interceding years, but I thought I'd post as a cautionary tale. EDIT - Response to Cad & the Dandy... Thanks for taking the time to reply so promptly. As I tried to suggest in my review, hopefully practices have improved since I purchased. In terms of why I didn't raise this previously, regrettably the experience I had at C&TD left me fairly certain I'd have an awkward and uncomfortable time of it were I to try and get any sort of resolution. I was younger and less sure of myself and the prospect of challenging a Saville Row tailor about their suit-making was a daunting one. I lacked the necessary time and will. I think that, because it was a present from my parents, and because I'd picked C&TD, and the suit was so much more than either I or my father had ever spent on a suit, all coupled with the fact it subsequently proved such a disappointment, made me feel guilty and shameful - like I'd somehow duped my parents, if that makes sense. As a result I buried my head in the sand and I was unwilling to spend more time facing the reality of the matter. In any event, I'm binning the suit, so I can happily send it to you instead if you promise to look into it and ensure any problems in your process get addressed. You will be able to see for yourself how little wear it's had.

I decided to edit my original review. Since posting it they really have gone beyond any expectation to correct the issue I had. Excellent after care and I'm left very happy.

Ordered a bespoke shirt gift voucher. On top of the price they ask for postage which seemed a but greedy but paid anyway. Got the package and gave it to the recipient today. Its a plain brown postcard which doesn't even say its a gift for a shirt, just puts a value on it - really disappointing and not something I would want to gift again. Lets hope the service is better when the recipient comes in to get the shirt.

EDIT 26/11/2019: CATD has since gone above and beyond to rectify the problems below. I cannot fault them for this services. I will keep the post below for reference - but make no mistake, they did right by their customers. Original review: These are just the conclusions from a larger review I posted on StyleForum. I can concede that I may be more particular than most regarding the fit of my suits - though that is my prerogative and why I chose to go for a custom made suit for my wedding. However, my requests were not ones of style, but of fit and were not out of the ordinary alterations that any tailor worth their salt should have picked up without having to be pointed out by the customer. To be honest, I am not disappointed that the suit required multiple alterations. It happens, it's a bit of a trial and error - I understand that. However, what I cannot forgive is when staff and one of the owners pushed me out the door of the shop with my suit in hand insisting that a problem of tailoring would "press-out", and then tried to do it again a second time. I should have not been let out of the shop with a suit they knew full well had an alteration mistake. This is quite unprofessional and not of a standard I would ever expect from any tailor, let alone one on Savile Row. Also, CATD knew very well that the suit would be worn on my wedding day - therefore it was imperative that it was to the most ideal standard. Returning a month after the suit breaks in was not an option - or rather, it was no longer an option because the suit was not ready in time to do so. Not only that, but a tailoring service is only as good as how happy the customer is walking out the door. Had I not been steadfast in pursuing the problems with my suit, I would've had the most expensive off the peg suit I ever bought. And still, even with my suit in hand - my experience has left me deflated as I mentioned above. Furthermore, I am hesitant to recommend CATD to anyone who a) doesn't have a mastery of how a suit should fit or b) doesn't have a tailor in the family who can adequately point out the flaws at fittings - because it is obvious that staff and even the owners can't or won't do so. If CATD doesn't get your suit right on the first go (as it did for my friend) it will be an uphill struggle trying to set it right. I would give CATD 2-stars, rather than none because I am indeed happy with the final product, but the process has left a very bad taste in my mouth and would make me think twice about giving them repeat business. Like a barber or a doctor, you should have the utmost trust in the service your tailor delivers. Whether by ignorance or malice - through dealing with these repetitive mistakes and trying to pass off faults as just creases, that trust was broken several times by CATD. By the end, I could not trust anyone in the shop, neither the staff nor the tailor, not even the owners. If you do choose them, you WILL eventually get a good suit - but you MUST be on your toes and fight them if something does not look right - they surely will not do it themselves. It's unfortunate that CATD takes such an adversarial attitude towards customer service. If it doesn't intend it to be adversarial, it should reevaluate how it interacts with customers getting frustrated at returning over and over again to find very basic problems unresolved.

I had my wedding suit done in December last year with Alex. Just all around fantastic service by Alex and the team. I loved my suit and it was something I continued to wear regularly after the wedding. Highly recommend.

Superb, superb quality. I have collected a custom-made trouser from the house a while ago. It is an excellent work from tailor Atkins. He has been very kind, attentive and gracious throughout each fitting, although, I did prove trouble by having tremendous weights loss during the process. Not only created, the tailor went on helping me to have my own suits altered under his expertise. I have never been so satisfied with any sartorial experience like this. I am looking forward to coming back soon. Many thanks to Cad and the Dandy team. P/s: To Atkins, you are a star, sir.

From the outset, Cad & The Dandy, specifically Nicholas, made it clear that their only agenda was ensuring that I got the right suit for my wedding and that I was happy. Every detail was worked through, and the advice and guidance received was outstanding. My many, many emails and questions were always promptly replied too which kept the stress levels down! The final product is outstanding and I couldn't be happier with what the guys have done. I would not hesitate whatsoever to recommend Cad & The Dandy.

Everyone needs at least one perfectly tailored, bespoke suit. And if you've never had one before, there is probably no more accessible way to get one on Savile Row than from this shop. They truly care about their customers and will go to any lengths to make sure you have the best fitting suit - and will do it in a very un-pretentious / relaxed way. I had an issue the fit of my jacket and the owner himself took the time to have a look and make suggestions on what could be done to make it look better - even though I probably sounded pedantic he couldn't have been nicer about making the changes. If you're looking to get a bespoke suit, would very much recommend giving these guys a try.

Friendly, professional and highly competent staff walked us through the process and gave good design guidance. There are some eye catching new pieces on display too.

Edit with update: Problem below was partially solved, however after returning yet again to pick up the shirts I've found that one of the shirts have the cuff buttons on the wrong side... Extremely sloppy mistake, overall can't recommend going again for shirts So far not been impressed, experience has been unorganised on Cad and the Dandy's end. Ordered shirts with a consultation with Sachi, which was initially very good overall and thorough. Returning for the fitting of the first of the shirts to measure was a mess however, was told that the initial person I consulted with was on holiday. Another staff member instead went through the fitting but said very little at all, seemed new/inexperienced and couldn't answer my questions about the fit - regardless asked for some alterations and they said they would be done. Received an email confirming alterations complete the same day and called to confirm, the woman on the other end confirmed and booked me to come back the following week and that Sachi was still on holiday so it couldn't be with him. Returned today and found it hadn't actually been done, with the pins still in the shirt when I was given it to try on again. On top of this the staff member who went through this time flagged up some other fit problems which really should have been noticed the previous time. In addition I am told now that Sachi no longer works for the company whereas previously told he was on holiday. Overall not been impressed with the confusion, wasted journey and much longer wait.

The Savile Row experience, delivered by a young and modern company that really gives you all the choices and walks you step by step through the process. Only one visit there already convinced me that I wanted my bespoke suit to come from them. The attention from Harry was superb, he took the time and explained every single little thing, offering both choice and advice. So excited to see the final result!

Unbelievable experience here. My first made to measure Savile Row jacket. The whole process from meeting with the sales men and General Manager to discussing my self image and what sort of jacket I was after, to selecting fabric and lining and customisation was pure delight. The space is warm and welcoming and not at all stuffy. Large sofas and chairs welcome you to sit and browse the myriad of cloths and linings to create the perfect item. The most amazing thing is the entry price points for such quality. Even though Cad and the Dandy pride themselves at a lower price point than some of their more "traditional" neighbours on Savile Row I did not feel at all undervalued or as though I was ordering a "poor relation". After a fitting and some adjustments I was handed the most spectacular jacket that makes me feel wonderful and is remarked upon whenever I wear it. When you are next in the market for a high-end off-the-peg jacket or suit, stop and think twice for a little more you could have something made to fit you perfectly, customised to meet all your expectations and design dreams. Be sure to say hello to Nic the General Manager he and his wonderful team will take great care of you. I cannot recommend Cad & The Dandy highly enough.

Update: Soon after I posted the below review (and contacted them by email) I was contacted by The Cad And the Dandy with an apology and generous compensation for their mistake. This is greatly appreciated and therefore I have updated my rating. In summary I haven’t been very pleased with the service offered from The Cad And The Dandy - inconsistent communication and incomplete alterations. I would not recommend their services for the prices charged. To explain, it took 11 days to complete some small alterations to two suits. After calling to check I was told I would receive an email for collection that day, as my suits were in store completed. I did not and so called the next day. Same thing happened and I was told to just come into store to collect. I came into store and it turns out only one of my suits was complete. The next day my second suit was collected. To my surprise when I arrived home not all alterations had been complete. Another point is that my suit carry bags have been replaced and I presume disregarded (one being replaced with a brand that has nothing to do with TCATD - a very odd approach, especially as they did not ask). I then emailed to complain and explain my situation. It has now been nearly 3 days and no response to my email (clearly they will have seen my email, and without even a holding response, they are probably ignoring me). Therefore I am still stuck with a suit I cannot wear. For the alterations completed, I can’t fault the work done. However, the customer service and inconsistent communication on top of the incomplete alterations has really soured the experience.

C&D has by far the best style on Saville Row, especially for young to middle aged men. High armholes, strong shoulder, high waistline - this is the look you want! Suit took a while with multiple fittings but worth the wait.

Having visited several places in my pursuit of a wedding suit, me and my fiancee walked into Cad & The Dandy following the advice from a different store. Though we were initially only interested to check the various clothes, the service James and the rest of the team gave us was excellent. It became apparent to me very quickly that we were dealing with people that genuinely loved their craft and were very knowledgeable. After picking the fabric for my suit, the turnaround was in good time (6 weeks give or take). Not having seen a material as a full suit, you always run the risk of getting something that’s not quite what you had in mind. The result was even better than what we expected. The quality was outstanding. I would honestly recommend James and Cad & The Dandy to anyone looking for a suit for any special occasion. Overall, an outstanding team producing outstanding pieces of work.

Great modern tailor, good value made to measure and bespoke suits, with a large choice of styles and fabrics. You'll most likely need an appointment, but the staff there are very welcoming and helpful, they're trying to get away from the image of the stuffy, intimidating Savile Row tailor of old.

I just been for my first consultation at Cad & The Dandy for my first ever bespoke suit. Savile Row and bespoke trailering could have been a daunting experience but James and the team are so welcoming it made my initial visit exciting! The advice, insight and history was a pleasure to hear and experience. Anyone anxious about taking the leap down into Mayfair should not fret, take the journey, you won't regret it. I can't wait for my next appointment.

We went for a consultation for a Bespoke wedding suit. Absolutely, brilliant experience. Fantastic staff, very knowledgeable and clearly extremely passionate about their craft. They were polite, helpful with their suggestions (as we had very limited knowledge when it came to suits), they were naturally talkative and sociable which made conversation incredibly easy and they were very welcoming. We felt very comfortable from the moment we entered the room. If we ever want a suit made for a special occasion again, we will return here. If you want an experience that you'll remember for years to come, book in with Cad & The Dandy.

I recently attended Cad and the Dandy for a shirt consultation. Having had a rather poor experience with my first consultation, I was contacted by Nicholas who went above and beyond to ensure that I had a fantastic shirt. Having just collected the shirt I am delighted with the quality and fit. I will definitely be back for more shirts in the future.

Welcoming, stylish tailoring house with a fantastic selection of fabrics available, truly something for every occasion. A particular mention and thank you to Olli, who completely understood the type of cut & look I wanted to achieve with my recent suit purchase. Ordered bespoke suit 3 months before my wedding. My consultant was Sachchi who in my opinion was excellent, he helped me to choose right fabrics for waistcoat, trouser and jacket. Everything was going as planned until week before collection date when I found out that Sachchi is not with Cad & Dandy anymore. There was a problem with my trousers which couldn't be fixed anymore. After contacting management few days before collection, Nicholas the store manager went above and beyond to sort it out asap so I could collect it before my flight to destination where I had my wedding. I would like to thank Sachchi for his professional advice, even though he is not with company anymore and Nicholas who helped to sort out problem asap to keep me happy. I will post some pictures of my suit once I got them from my photographer :)

I had a shirt measured for and ordered on the 23/4/2016 at a cost of £150 this was the first time of using this service and was truly disappointed from the offset. The Shirt when I arrived on 30/7/16 to collect when I went to try it on was extremely tight and clearly never fit me. I was told that it was normal if you never had a shirt made for you before that it will be closer to the body with less excess material- the cuffs were also ridiculous. I had a Cartier dress watch on and was told that the cuffs are ordinarily this tight- I told the person that this is stupid that I could not wear a sports watch like a Rolex or similar with this shirt. I returned on several occasions for adjustments but as I do not work close by or live that centrally in London. I took the shirt on the first and only occasion of wearing the shirt buttons fell off and I needed to go home to remove the shirt, changing to a more comfortable fitting shirt At the time I complained but never heard anything back. I would suggest any of the fine tailors on Saville Row will do a better job. I would avoid this establishment at all costs

LJ Langdon

Excellent tailor on Savile Row. Good value relative to other options on the famous street

Johnny T

Fantastic tailor. Was relatively new to having a suit tailored and these guys were brilliant. Very friendly and always happy to explain when needed. Their style of suits is, in my opinion, spot on, touches of timeless style but still contemporary. Safe to say I could not be happier with my first suit from here and will definitely be back.

Fantastic - finally a bespoke tailor I trust. Service from Freddie is impeccable - he very quickly grasped my style and I'm now the proud owner of two stunning suits and will return, when restrictions ease, to expand my bespoke wardrobe further. If you are considering a first foray into bespoke, or looking for a better service, I wholeheartedly recommend the Cad & The Dandy!

R P (Richard)

Was hesitant a first as the price is very cheap compared to other Savile suit makers. My wedding was in 3 months, had 3/4 fittings and everyone at my wedding said the suit looked brilliant. John was very helpful and knowledgeable - if you have any issues, it can be escalated to the owner who is in fact a kind helpful chap. I will go back

Krijn Bakker

Very good first impressions are offered at the cad and the dandy. I ordered 4 tailored shirts for which I was able to decide on many different designs and textures. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is due to lacking quality in leadtimes. I had chase on two occasions to get the shirts delivered in time for the events for which they were required. I will be coming back here as aside from the above issue, car and the dandy offers exceptional quality at acceptable pricing.
