I find the auto dept usually understaffed however the staff will do the best they can to their knowledge. They will still give you their attention eventhough they are super busy. That's good service.

We must have visited on an off day- it was a Saturday and very busy. Had to get a car part from the parts desk- only one poor associate working the desk and was busy for quite some time helping the gentleman in front of me find a specific part. Meanwhile, myself and several others stood in line waiting for assistance while two other associates in the auto service department sat and watched. It wasn't until about 10 minutes of standing around that the one associate from the other desk decided to walk over and help. Then went to sporting goods and had to wait around again for another associate to help me get bear spray. Once at the checkout line, we were assisted with one a young woman who obviously was not having a good day- was very short and didn't even give me a chance to scan my Triangle rewards card. Not sure if it's a management issue, a staffing issue, or what- but every Canadian Tire employee we dealt with was not pleasant that day. I get it- customer service is a tough gig- but to have that many people seemingly unhappy at their jobs means that something is going on at that particular store.

I started by trying to buy a sale item in our local Courtenay store. They didn't have 8item, so I asked if someone could contact a nearby store and inquire if the item was available. A call to the Campbell River store proved fruitful and they agreed to hold it for me. When I got to CR, the clerk knew about the hold, but, it took a wh6to find. In the end, this was one of the best experiences I have had with Canadian Tire.

A true testament of 'doing the best you can with what you're given'. I probably go here once a month? Maybe once per six weeks; I'm a huge fan of the Canadian Tire franchise. I constantly search for deals and they always scratch the itch. I sadly can't buy their gas anymore (I've moved away from the Brandon location) but visit the dauphin (from Ste Rose) as often as feasible. Even during the nonsense of Christmas, staff went out of their way to help me find things, deals were relevant, love the CT money thing, and the staff were all cheerful. Even though the banner out front says hiring FT and PT. I know what short staffed is like, I know what busy season is like; I was a cook for over a decade. To stay that dedicated and pleasant is a massive plus one to their management. The store itself is quite tight, but they don't have alot of sq/ft to show their goods, so I get it. My only negative thing to say, which is probably just an example of what short staffing does, is their hours. They're only open until 6. I live 35 mins away, and I'm off work at 5 at the earliest. I would love to see them open until 8, even just two days a week. Otherwise, hats off to you guys! Truly maximizing on what's available to them. Well done.

I've never been spoken down to in such a rude tone by employee in my life. I was in the As Seen on TV section and saw a strange looking item on the shelf and picked it up. The employee said something like 'Why are you touching my device?' I said 'I'm sorry I didn't know what it was...' It did not look like a tablet to me and was on the shelf. But my apology wasn't good enough for him, he continued to go on about touching other peoples things and shaming me. I had to walk away because it was abusive. This employee needs to learn some manners. I would never talk to another person like that, let alone a customer.

You have to admit Canadian Tire has a huge selection. Nothing to complain about other than the Overseas import smell of products. Their automotive section is great for selection. One thing they could do to improve service to have enough cashiers at the tills. Nothing is worse than being treated like sheep in a narrow line up and then they only open up 2 cashiers to make the lineup wait time very annoying. It's a sign they only care about money.

I like going there late in the day, and they're open until 8. Very few people are there around supper time and later. Less chance of being exposed to Covidiots. ( People that aren't cautious about exposure!) I dropped a brand new 1/2" drive ratchet in 30 feet deep water, while attempting to tighten my outboard motor mount. It is from a 33 piece set that sells for $129.oo! The ratchet alone, to replace is $89.99 ! Makes no logic to me. Just though I'd throw that in. So I'm going without it. You have to verify the identity, FAX, and DESTROY the EMIDIATEMNT paper. The lady took my paper and put it next to the other cash register with my re-bleeding card and allowed to be seen by all, not to fax it. When I got home the next day I applied the CT bank and told me that they had not received anything, and that it was supposed to immediately fax the paper and destroy it. I call the TC for tomorrow if she faxed the paper, and why she did not do as written on the paper, she replied that they keep the paper in a file and not destroy it, and that the only way to know if the paper is returned when I receive the card. That is the only way. So I called CT again but could speak to the manager and there the paper was sent and I received the confirmation they received. So be careful when you do the authentication, she didn't even send it and the others are telling you an irrelevant story. I apply Bank CT and Mont says they have no right to do as they please. This is written like that, that is what they are supposed to do. And even the bank asked me if it could give me a copy to confirm on the phone with the agent, which it did not do. Jai appler la Bank CT et mont dit que ils ont pas droite de faire comme il leur tente. Cé ecrit comme ca cé ca quils sont suposer faire. Et meme que la banque ma demander si elle ma donner une copy pour comfirmer au telephone avec lagent,ce que elle a pas fait. Une belle experience merci.

I bought my truck tires here. Without telling me they charged me a $20 "predisposal fee" for my old tires which I wanted to keep. The people in the automotive department are very unfriendly and unhelpful, they avoid eye contact and don't introduce themselves when you approach them. When I later got my tires changed there I had to tell them 4 times that I wanted to keep my old tires, and they still forgot. They also charged me 7dollars for "oiling the back hatch of my truck's topper" because they couldn't get it open apparently. The hatch squeaks just the same so I think very low of the employees at this particular Canadian tire. I will not be going there again.

My partner and I walk everywhere. We used to frequent Canadian tire until the other day when they made a new rule about men wearing backpacks. I say men, because my partner and I were both wearing backpacks and he was asked to leave his at the front and when I asked if I needed to as well they answered no. We both carry our personal belongings such as our keys, wallets, extra bags and inhalers in our packs and I felt very frustrated that a store would make only my boyfriend remove his, but have no issues with ladies extra large purses or my backpack. We both have stopped being Canadian Tire customers and will remain that way. We have buying power and choose to use it where it feels right.

Wish they would invest in either electric wheelchairs that have a basket on it or if they only use the manual wheelchairs then have ones where shopping baskets could be attached. When I was there last I had a difficult time pushing my mom in a wheelchair and pulling a shopping cart behind myself, that lasted until an employee took my shopping cart to the tills for us (sorry can not remember her name).

As a mother of twin toddlers, who is forced to carry a large amount of supplies around on a daily basis, in a backpack; this locations unwavering dedication to their asinine "no backpacks" rule is, in my opinion, discriminatory to those of us who choose to cary a backpack. Had the misfortune of having to interact with the manager/dealer of the Dauphin Canadian Tire. Ordered and prepaid for a small cost item 5 Aug 2019. Store never contacted me nor a secondary phone I provided. Finally in October the secondary person contacted Canadian tire about the order and was told it was in. Promptly picked it up in my behalf. On my return to the area in Dec circumstances had changed and the item was no longer required. Attempted to return it today, not a pleasant dealing to say the least. Fortunately for me I don’t live in the area therefore not subject to such arrogance for a service where “customer satisfaction “ is supposedly #1.

I placed an order to pick up in store over a month ago and was getting no updates. Sent an email about it weeks ago and got no response. It said they had zero in stock in store but every other store on the island has the item I wanted so I don’t get why it was taking so long. Went in store yesterday and they had so many on the shelf but my order was just still processing and no one had responded to my email still. Also the parking lot was an icy mess when other parking lots in the same complex were much better. You clearly sell salt and snow shovels - spread some of that stuff to make it a safer, less stressful experience for customers.
