I have been taking my alterations to Mariana for over 7 years now, and I trust no one else with my clothing. Mariana is always professional, efficient and upfront about costs and production time. Because my husband and I renew our wedding vows each year, I have taken several gowns (formal and informal) to her for tailoring. She has also assisted me with numerous alterations for my work dresses and slacks. Thanks to her creativity, I now have a custom shawl made out of my family’s tartan and faux fur. There really is no task too big for Mariana, and she always loves a good challenge. I highly recommend her for any and all alterations!

I took my wedding dress here to be altered. After she was finished I then proceeded to take it to another seamstress where they undid her work and altered it beautifully for less than what she charged. The difference was night and day. Adding in gigantic cups into the lining of the dress doesn't allow for the dress to sit appropriately. Severely disappointed with her work and telling me throughout my fitting that it was fine. It wasn't fine. Don't settle, I would of been so angry with myself if I accepted her work as is.

if i could rate her a negative star i would, she was way over priced, we payed 45 dollars for a pin job and at the end she went out of her way to remove it all. do not recommend. save your money and go somewhere else.

Ordered some small leather work... Quality is good. Timely - very quick. But quite expensive. I could order from Poland, a new one for 1/2 price... :)

I highly recommend Marianna! She has done an amazing job on all of my alterations. I had a couple pairs of pants that I feared might have to be thrown away after spending hundreds of dollars on each pair, but Marianna saved them. Marianna also helped me last minute by altering a Christmas party dress, which fit SO well. I highly recommend Marianna and I will continue to trust her with all of my alterations.

I absolutely loved my wedding dress once it was finished being altered and the staff were wonderful and kind. With this being said, however, I don't believe the alterations that were needed were worth $400... A bustle to be put in and a panel to be extended, with a minor veil repair. To top it all off, the loop for my bustle broke before my reception even started. I should have shopped around more but chose this shop based on recommendations.

Marianna's is the place to go for alterations in Calgary. Marianna is a perfectionist and extremely professional. She knows exactly what must be done with any garment and tailors it to perfection. If you have a bridal gown or bridesmaid dress, you must go to Marianna's as she is an expert in this area. What Marianna accomplished was an art. Thank you Marianna, you are so talented!

After having three other places tell me they couldn’t do my alterations on my evening dress I needed for the symphony on the weekend, I found Marianna online and gave her a call. I took my dress in on Tuesday afternoon and picked it up Friday afternoon. I’m about two sizes smaller in my torso compared to my hips, so I had to have the dress taken in and the straps/bust/back area raised. She did such a good job without it looking like it was altered and it fits perfectly. She even made the fitting and pinning part quick and not awkward. Her prices are very reasonable as well. She has an amazing skill with over 30 years of formal Ed and experience and deserves to be paid accordingly and has overhead costs to cover.

DO NOT GO TO THIS TAILOR!! I went for my wedding dress and ended up having to buy a new one. She charged nearly $400, was rude to us each time my mother and I went in, was condescending, and, didn't do what we asked. Her work was shotty, and like I said, I ended up having to buy a new wedding dress in the end (THREE WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING). I wish I could get that $400 back, but at the very least, I hope this review saves somebody else their money. HOT TIP! The specialty drycleaners in this same shopping centre, that are cleaning my new wedding dress, are making FREE alterations to it for me -- the same alterations we wanted Marianna to make to my original dress, but she didn't do. For FREE. Just saying.

I brought my Essense of Australia wedding gown to Marianna's based on very positive reviews online. She did an incredible job carefully hemming the three layers, as well as adding a French bustle. Everything was done on time, and she was so lovely to work with! Highly recommend!

DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS SHOP. I took in a backless wedding dress to have very minor alterations done to it as it was slightly loose in the bust. The Asian woman who measured and pinned me was very nice. I should have reconsidered when I was told it would be over $400 for what I thought would be a simple alteration, but I did want a quality job, so I thought paying more would ensure this. However when I tried the dress on after the alterations the sides of my breasts were visible, and should I lift my arms my nipples would likely come out of the dress as the bust area was still loose. I told my concerns to the owner of the store, who responded rudely that what did I expect "this is the style of the dress". When asked if there was anything she could do she said no but did offered to add a strap that would go across my back. When my mother in law asked if we would have to pay for the additional strap she rudely responded "what do you think?". We left the store as soon as possible as it was clear she had no desire to help us. As I have no experience with alterations I thought my dress was likely unwearable based on her "expert" opinion. However, I just returned from a dressmaker who told my that my dress was basically ruined by how the alterations were done, the fabric was taken from the wrong place and I probably lost 2 inches that should be there to cover the side of my chest. He will be able to fix it, but there still won't be as much coverage due to the previous alterations. He is also adding a bustle, adding a button to the zipper, and aforementioned alterations - for $220. In short - Don't take your wedding dress anywhere unless you have had a personal reference, and don't assume more money means a better job.

Stitched in a new liner in my old leather jacket and fixed all of the pockets inside and out. The liner looks better than it was when I first bought it brand new...it was more than i expected to pay for the repair but now that I have the finished product, it was worth it!

I called at noon to have some Jeans repaired and Marianna had them done by 4pm that same day. You could not tell they had ever been torn! I would definitely recommend her.

I took my high quality leather jacket here to get the sleeves altered, I have had leather jackets altered in the past at other tailors and received sub par work. So I was hesitant to leave my jacket at Marianna's but did anyway. I picked my jacket up today only one week later and WOW what an amazing job I can not believe the quality of work never before have I seen such craftsmanship absolutely superb. Marina's Alterations was a very lovely experience. I had an old rabbit coat that never got used, that I wanted made into a vest. Marina did an amazing job creating the transformation. I needed my wedding dress altered a week and a half before my wedding. My friend and I were trying on my dress when she told me I defiantly needed my dress bustled. I called a few places and felt people were rude and lacked confidence in being able to help me. When I called Marriannas I was greeted with kindness, understanding and confidence. I quickly got in my car because I was so happy to go a meet them right away. When I went in the store, again greated with such kindness and they helped me into my dress and showed me a few options, they gave me an amazing deal and more then willing to have it completed in a short time frame. Without making it a big deal, like others I contacted. When I picked up my dress, they again helped me into it and they did better the. What I had expected. I got so many complements and it made my experience one to remember. I don't normally do reviews but felt they truly needed the recognition for helping a bride make her day one to remember.
