I got a dress shirt fitted by Manuel and my experience was excellent. Friendly service and extremely conscientious. The final product was a beautiful, custom shirt that fits perfectly. I decided to order another one in a different fabric and Manuel re-measured me to a looser fit so that the coarser fabric wouldn't irritate my skin. Throughout the whole thing, he made helpful suggestions for things like the style of the collar or the color of the buttons and he always respected my decisions. It was good to have someone with great fashion sense gently guide me to my own style.

I made an appt at Surmesur after some extensive research on custom suiting places in the city. I had an important suit to buy (my wedding suit!) and so I took my best man with me and a buddy. The store, and options for customization were all remarkable but the icing on the cake was truly the service. I was assigned to Bilal and it was his incredible service and attention to detail that made me commit to buying not only my wedding suit, but a couple of shirts and a sports jacket at Surmesur. He was patient through the multi-hour process of selecting material, defining the style/cut and taking measurements. At no point did I feel rushed or pushed to make a decision. I get all my shirts done at Surmesur. Being a tall lanky guy, haven't a quality dress shirt is very important to me. I always get good service when I walk in. I usually get one on one assistance, although recently it's been getting busier and I'm forced to wait, which I don't mind. The shirt's that I have bought have been very nice quality and I am very happy with the value I get. My only complaint would be the wait time for my shirts. One shirt, I waited almost 3 months to get because the fabric I wanted was out of stock. They did not tell me this when I placed the order, and then I was forced to wait while they replaced it with a different fabric. A shirt for March I got in May. Not a rush service, but still a nice quality shirt when it comes down to it.

I've had suits made to meaure from 5 different places and my experience at Surmesur was by far the best. I got mine in May 2019 (busiest period of the year). The staff was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. While waiting for my turn, I noticed how the staff were customizing their service based on the preferences of each customer. For example, someone wanted to wear a large watch with his wedding suit and they made recommendations on how it should be worn with the suit and how the shirt and suit jacket should be adjusted. Raymond helped me customize my suit and provided advice where I needed. I was super impressed when they altered my dress pants on the spot (within 10 mins) a week before my wedding after I had lost weight. This is a fantastic place and I will definitely come back when I need to tailor a new suit.

Since regular suites never fit me due to my height, I decided to go for a tailor made one. I'm not a regular suit wearer, so I had no real idea what I really wanted. The whole consulting went really well. Tom was nice and professional, took a lot of time and had really good advices, especially for a novice like me. He helped me to pick the right colour and made sure that all the details of the suite just fit perfectly to my body and my personality. The whole tailoring process took a few week, before I went back in to made the last adjustments. In the end I had a gorgeous suite for that I received a lot of compliments. I will come back whenever I need a new one.

Less than 4 weeks latter the suit was ready for a fitting (the estimate was 4-6 weeks). The first fitting was excellent, with only a few minor shirt modifications required while the suit itself was ready to take home. All told the time investment was < 2 hrs total and the end product is excellent. I both recommend them, and the store manager Kelvin Lopes, and also plan to use their services again.

I can't emphasize that enough, no commission means they are never incentivised to upsell you things you don't need. I felt entirely comfortable in my shopping experience. Ricardo and his team truly understand style and fashion. He has been honest in his opinions and told me about important details that didn't even occur to me that helped make my suit better. I am an extremely picky person and when given full customization of a suit, will take multiple visits of 2-3 hrs each and Ricardo has been there every step of the way. Many of their staff go to fashion shows to understand the trends and can offer advice that would fully tailor You, your body, skin, height, weight, personality, hair and eye colour. This is as close to bespoke you can get without the high price. I have been to many tailor/custom suits in Toronto and this is the by far the best price and service you can get. This is a 100% custom tailoring, some tailor shops out there (Looking at you Soren) will force you to get their brand/signature displayed on your clothing. Definitely recommended this to my friends and am definitely returning for more!

This was my first experience ordering a custom-made suit, and I really appreciated the way that the clerks gave me space to take in the options and made me feel comfortable in their store. Since I can't afford to just go suit shopping, I felt out of place and pressured in a couple of the other places that I went before ordering, and I'm much happier with my suit now because I had the time to be educated about the options -- I'm confident that I got what I wanted. Where I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted, they gave good advice in such a way that I could accept it for its own value rather than on their say-so. The fit is much better than anything I've ever got before (obviously), but for the price I expected it to look fantastic and I wasn't disappointed. I didn't leave much extra time between ordering it and the event I needed it for, but the suit was ready when they said it would be and alterations were done on time. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if and when I need another suit, or even a custom shirt.

Suit quality is pretty mediocre compared to other off the rack and m2m options in the same price. Half canvassed, super 110, cost over 700 after taxes, even with a group discount. The wool was coarse and thin. At this price, you're better off buying OTR and altering for $100~. Can only imagine the high ratings are from people that haven't cross-shoped at other places, or don't know the difference in materials/options. Also does not help that they can only fit one party at a time.

This place is fantastic. Jonathan has helped me customize a number of suits and shirts. I gave him "Artistic control" and the suits are amazing. They have various price points, but I went with a higher end cloth (read more expensive) and don't regret it for a moment. The first suit they tweaked, then they tweaked again until it sat perfectly. After that every pair of pants or jacket has fit perfectly. I have received complements on my suits from total strangers. I don't know if it is the fit or the cloth, but I really can't say enough good things about Surmesur. I have become a big fan.

I cannot express in words how helpful and responsible, the people in this store are, towards their customers. I was looking to get a custom suit for my wedding which was 7 weeks from the day I ordered the suit. Like many things, COVID decided to ruin my plans for a custom suit. I reached out to a couple of stores and none of them were willing to take the risk, cause of the tight deadline (yes 7 weeks isn't enough because of shipment delays). A friend of mine referred me here and these people are amazing. Right from giving the measurements, selecting the fabric, the whole experience was fantastic. Sougata, was really, really helpful with all that. The store promised me my suit a week before I had to fly to India. I got my tracking number and was keeping track of the shipment, it got delivered to the store on a Monday. The store is closed on Mondays and the delivery service left a bunch of merch outside the store. Unfortunately someone stole all that merch and my suit was one of those items. Now I have only two weeks left to fly, and I don't have my suit. I got a call from Will from the store and I was told that my suit was stolen. I was in shock. But Will and his team were so supportive, they even ordered another suit with same specs for me. And also bought a ready made suit and were willing to alter it for me for free of cost, just in case if the new suit doesn't arrive on time. So, I went to the store again and did the measurements on the ready-made suit. Idk, what kinda express shipping they have used, my new suit is shipped and delivered in 5 days (from china). I was so relaxed and happy. I will give the total credit to Will and his team. Never seen someone dealing with a chaotic situation this efficiently. And btw, even though they rushed the shipment, the quality of the suit or the fit was not compromised at all. I would totally recommend Surmesur to all my friends and family.

Being a man who rarely shies away from the opportunity to dress up or wear a costume, I had to get my act together when came to formal wear. Until now, I've settled with off the rack clothing, but as my figure continues to stray from the norm with training, I made a point to ask one of my classier friends what tailor they recommend. In comes Surmesur. Surmesur is a custom menswear store along Queen St. E, Toronto. This being my first tailored clothing experience, I can't compare Surmesur to other tailors, but I can say that I was overall happy with the experience. The first, and pretty much only initial detail that I told the associate was that I wanted a couple new dress shirts, and that I wanted to keep the designs simple. From there, she walked me through the various customizations that they offer, the most important of which being the fabric. They offer three different dress shirt fabrics which determine the price of the shirt. The first level starts somewhere around $70/shirt, then increases from there. The key differences are cleaning options, durability, feel, and breathability. The first level can only be cold water washed, while the third one can be dry cleaned as well. Durability apparently increases from the first level to the last. As for breathability, you can probably guess that the third level breathes better. Working in the software industry, I plan on only wearing these for special occasions, so I opted for the first level. After you select your fabric, you proceed to choose a whole bunch of details like colour/pattern, collars, cuffs, buttons, threads, embroidery, pockets, etc. What I really liked is that throughout the entire process they'll patiently guide you through the choices until you're happy and confident with your choice. You won't find yourself rushed in the slightest. That being said, if you already know what you fancy, you can apparently place your order online. Once you've picked all your details, they'll take your measurements in the back, then in about 4 weeks your order will come in. I've yet to receive mine, so I'll reserve further judgement, but for the time being I'll say that Surmesur provides you with a quality fitting experience that implies the distinguished look that their clothes hopefully provide.

Every man needs a suit, and if you're going to get a suit, get one that fits you perfectly. I needed a suit for formal and work events to help me appear more presentable, however 99% of the time suits off the rack just dont cut it and in some way, shape or form never meet the standards of a good suit, and ruin the overall image of the person wearing it. I went to Surmesur looking for a good suit and left with so much more than that. The suit I received fit my shoulders perfectly, had a great V-taper giving my body more shape, and hugged my body in all the right places. The staff were by far some of the most interactive and passionate individuals I've ever met and you can tell they care so much about their job when all they want is to make you look good as well. I personally was helped by Sougata, who I've known since high school, and he gave me all the information I needed to make my purchase, as well as helping me select fabrics and design my suit from start to finish. All of this may sound a bit expensive but they have a wide variety of suits and price ranges to match, so dont hesitate to go there and see for yourself just how affordable something of this quality can be. At the end of the day a good suit is an investment, one that if done properly will keep you looking clean and sharp year after year, and this is the place to go. I had fantasic service at Surmesur. I had been shopping for a new suit through all the usual stores in the Rideau Centre, and couldn't find anything that fit properly. A google search brought me to this store, and Tom helped me look at some options. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, and Tom patiently provided plenty of fantastic advice! Everyone in the store is exceptionally helpful. I ended up ordering two shirts and a two piece suit. I am very happy with the finished product, and very little tailoring was needed to fine tune the fit. It was SO nice to put on a shirt and have it fit properly! No annoying tight or baggy parts. They feel great to wear, and I have received many unsolicited compliments! I have since ordered two more casual shirts, and I'm sure I'll be just as pleased with those. The price for a made-to-measure suit is fantastic. The shirts are a little more expensive, and I'd love to see some 100% cotton options at or under the $100 mark, rather than cotton/polyester blend.

My suit came a month after I ordered, had to spend another month and two further tailorings to 'fix it'. Within a couple of weeks, the buttons on the suit because loose and the ones on the trousers fell down. The spare buttons did not match the original Colors. Overall, I am disappointed and I will not go back since I do not see the value for the extra money that is spent.

Surmesur has really broken the made-to-measure mould - the options for customization are endless, and mostly standard. It is difficult to justify purchasing off-the-rack when these guys can get you into world class fabrics, middle of the line, or entry level fabrics, all for less than the cost of an equivalent OTR. Ray and Riccardo provide excellent service and offer their unhindered support from inception to receiving the final product. I will be certain to make another trip to see Ray the next time I am looking to purchase a suit or other formalwear.

*Strictly a customer service review. "Due to staffing issues", my appointment was cancelled 2 hours before the scheduled time. No apology was offered. As the appointment was in the middle of the day, I had planned my entire day around it and was having lunch nearby at the time. Not a good business model, as customers typically spend upwards of $1,500/visit. I took my business to a place that valued my time (Senator Bespoke). The owner of Senator opened his store 90 mins early to accommodate my schedule. Surmesur changed their store hours on their website just before calling me.

Bilal had the measurements from a previous purchase and was able to get a stunning custom suit to our door step without a sweat. He went above and beyond to ensure the suit was modern and even got a custom engraving added to the inside of the suit. The suit did not require any alterations and fit like a glove. My husband was ecstatic! Highly recommend Bilal as a style consultant and look forward to working with him again! He goes the extra mile for his clients and definitely has an eye for fashion! Ps. For that Savile Row experience and product, without the heavy price tag, you will not find a better partner. Surmesur is not Indochino, they are in a higher league at a truly negligible extra cost. Their suits are an investments that everyone can afford. Barring a specific exclusive fabric, I will find it very hard to justify buying an Armani or Brioni suit now.

Very cool and hip store plus the concept is absolutely awesome. Apart from the store style and how reasonably price the custom made attires are. My experience with the design consultant "Malcolm" is the soul reason behind ordering from surmesur. Malcolm made a day and night difference in my whole experience. From his prompt communication including contacting his head office to make sure I get my suit and shirt in 2 weeks (half their regular time table) to 3 times of tailoring/alteration accommodation in three days after each other because of my tight deadline. He simply went above and beyond. It worth mentioning that the Queen street branch staff weren't helpful and even at times ignorant towards my inquiry but Malcolm's personality and perfect customer relation skills made me travel five(5) times for over 40 minutes each time to get a suit from mississauga branch compare to toronto branch that is way closer to my house(about 20min).

I have been a Sur Mesur customer since their openings in Montreal in 2012. And for one, I have never been more happy to get my shirts and suits here ever since. Nothing fits the same after having a custom made shirt at this store. Recently I visited the Ottawa store for my wedding and groomsmen, and of all the stores, Ottawa has by far made the experience even better than I could have thought. When I was there I dealt with Tom, and his customer service and knowledge was impeccable. He was always available by phone or email to discuss timing, design, and any required changes. My groomsmen live all over East canada and was able to coordinate delivery of the suits accordingly and in a timely fashion. The rest of the SurMesur team were just as amazing, and all had great sense of fashion. When the final product is not good enough and the customer service does nothing to deliver on their promise it's disappointing! A true test of a company or a person's worth is when there are issues and how the company or person deals with it ! My suit pants were lousy and sloppy ! I felt it should have been dealt appropriately by staff but the manager felt that it was fine and he wants to remedy it by saying that if you like when the function is over u can come back and get another repair of pants ... doesn't that really defeat the purpose of getting a suit proper for a very important function and being happy with it when u leave the store? ONLY SAVING GRACE ...CHRIS WAS VERY GOOD BUT ... when I needed his expertise he wasn't working and my experience was ruined. I will never go back and it is there loss as I had plans for multiple suits ...One star Chris only !

All staff very knowledgeable and able to provide good recommendations until you are comfortable knowing exactly what you want. I had provided him with some inspiration photos prior to our consult and when we met I could tell he had put effort and consideration into my vision. Within 15min I had selected my fabrics, style, colour and customizations. The fitting was premium quality and Ray knew exactly where to trim, tuck, pin, chalk, and fold so that I could have the perfect tailored look. He is extremely professional with an ability to speak your language and make you feel extremely comfortable. My groomsmen and I were able to hang out in the lounge and enjoy the social dynamics of a memory that’ll resonate with us forever. We were given the freedom to order pizzas and just hang out while the wedding party was fitted. I returned in a matter of weeks after my custom suit was built and it looked and felt incredible. Ray was able to spot the most minor corrections from the manufacturer and once again insisted that it was tailored it to perfection. I feel like most times at other suit shops I’d be rushed out the door because they already had my money, however Ray took the time to get that perfect fit and absolutely nailed it because he knows how important the look is. Really pushy sales and no indication of price until its time to pay. They're also not too fond of replying to emails which is worrisome, when I haven't received a receipt for my $1400 suit. I've seen ads for wedding party discounts on social media and their own website but they conveniently forgot to mention them when in their showroom. The service while you're in store, however, is quite nice.

Horrible customer service. Initial meeting before my purchase was good and staff were overall friendly. However after purchase service was horrible. My order was ready two and a half weeks after when they promised it would be done, with NO follow up contact to me if I have never initiated calling them myself. I went to the store the day it was supposed to arrive just to be told that the order never came and I should come back another time, even when I called the day before to make sure of the arrival. I had to call the store everyday (for a total of two weeks) to check for updates and they always said the same thing "it will come tomorrow". I asked for a refund for my purchase because I was in a desperate rush to find an outfit for my own wedding (which at that time was 4 days away), and they were starting to sound like the boy who cried wolf. Went to the store/called multiple times for this matter and nobody took us seriously and treated us rudely without any respect; a disrespectful employee (I only remember one name, Darren) were freely talking back to me and making negative remarks when we were complaining to the store manager of the whole situation. However, the store manager, Jonathan, who in the end said "if I were you I would be happy and grateful that the tux came on time" made me realize that the store management for customer service were never present at Surmesur. All and all, I succeeded to push for the refund and it was processed. But the experience overall got very negative and I honestly do not quite understand how their google reviews are so stellar. I do not recommend anyone to get their suits tailored here.

My experience with Surmesur started summer of 2020 when I went in for a pair of suits and it worked out very well.A very lengthy collection of fabrics which is great. Measurements were done properly and the final product after going through few alterations looks sharp and gets tons of compliments everywhere . Happy with my first order, I ordered more shirts (some casual, some formal) and more pants: the quality, experience and final finish has been consistently good. For the price point you will be getting a well made product. Sougata has been my adviser there and he’s very helpful and patient throughout the process helping and advising on everything from fabric selection, customizing all the details and ensuring alterations are completed thoroughly to deliver a garment that suits my taste. Highly recommend Surmesur and Will definitely go there again for more suits, shirts, pants and overcoats. Keep up the good work!

Very pleased with the suit + shirt + tie student combo I got from Surmesur. In total the package costed me about $770, and while I haven't worn it extensively, the suit is amazing. Walking into the store is a pleasant experience that's rare to find these days, where you're treated as an actual human and not just a means to make the company more revenue. Every employee was professional and courteous, and makes sure you're happy with your product before you leave with it. Measurements and fabric selection took about an hour in total and the final product had to be altered just once to adjust sleeve length, but was very minor. I had the suit in my own closet 5 weeks after ordering, including alterations. All in all, fantastic experience, was initially looking at Indochino and Peter Parvez which offered made-to-measure suits at like 40% of the cost, but I think this suit is an investment and should be treated as such.

I worked primarily with Kayla but also Todd, Jared and Walid to craft the perfect shirt for my wedding. The french cuffs didn’t fit with my suit (bought elsewhere, to my chagrin), but no problems, they replaced the cuffs with convertible ones. I had some serious issues with my suit (see above chagrin) but they worked with me to tailor everything in time for the wedding. I would totally recommend the folks at Queen St, Ottawa for their attention to detail, knowledge, friendliness and for caring about the customer. The shirt was a hit, especially the black buttons... should have bought my suit there as well.

I came to Surmesur for my first made-to-measure suit from a friend’s recommendation. Kelvin was my style consultant and made the process easy from beginning to end. It was clear he was experienced and knew what he was talking about. I was amazed by how much customization you can make to your suit - from the patterns, buttons, suit lining, etc. It took just over a month to receive my garments. The quality of the suit was great. Kelvin made a few adjustments here and there and then the fit was perfect. I wore mine to a wedding the following week. Everyone seems to be talking about Indochino recently, but in my opinion, they’re overrated and the quality and customer service isn’t even comparable to Surmesur.
