Excellent and fast service! We had an extremely urgent requirement for embroidery work, and Victoria knows how to respond fast to our company's requests. She was professional, communicated with me promptly, worked late to get the job done..and as a result, the quality of the embroidery done on our shirts was topnotch. Natalie and all the other staff I met at the Lougheed store were courteous and efficient. If I can give 6 stars for this shop, I will!
Didn't do what I asked and then told me I was wrong. I went in to get the zipper on my peacoat fixed. I showed them the issue with the zipper and then said that also the buttons had fallen off too. They said no problem, and then told me it would be $16 to fix. I thought that was really affordable so I paid and left the jacket with them for a few days. Turns out that it was too affordable. They didn't fix the zipper and when I mentioned it, the lady first told me that I didn't ask for the zipper to be fixed, only the buttons and was really argumentative. Then she said that she originally told me the zipper was too expensive to fix and that was why they only fixed the buttons. She didn't say any of that however, because if she had, I would have said no problem, I'll fix the buttons myself because they're dead simple to fix. Takes about 40 seconds per button. Regardless, the fact that she immediately went into argumentative mode with me and made me feel like it was my fault means that I will never go back to this tailor.

I’ve been a client of this place for many years. Everything is done to perfection and preciseness. I’ve had so many clothes done here. Quick turnaround time and super fair prices. I’m really glad that I found this place. They are absolutely amazing!
Super expensive!!! Don't go to this place I found another place that charge less than half of what they want me to charge. Also they are very rude!!
Great girls great place highly reccomend
Amzing service. Best embroidery store ever
best alteration store in town. Staff is of great help and kind and gives you best suggestions about alterations. Their turnaround time is really good. i will highly recommend it for all your alteration purposes. give them a try, you'll never go anywhere.
This was a ridiculous experience. My girlfriend got 2 dresses hemmed that were casual cotton dresses. They charged her $75 which equaled more than the dresses itself. Will never use this company again, getting your dress hemmed shouldn’t cost more than the actual dress. Never again.
Well, it cost me nearly the same amount to get alterations done here as it did for what I purchase the garment for, and they apparently do not call you when it's ready. I don't think they are very upfront with their costs at all, to be honest. But that being said, they did a tremendous job and were quite friendly. So, great workmanship, but at a price.
Amazing people took me in and did one amazing job i recommend them to everyone i know
I've been coming for here years. They have done everything for me from hemmed jeans, taken in the waist, fixed a bridesmaid dress, and shortened straps on dresses. Their work is awesome, staff is kind. Also, their prices are fair.
Horrible service, got charged $35 for a simple alteration and hem. They didn't even stitch up the hem and left it undone
Every time I come here, the women are so rude, which is whatever, I don't care that much, but this recent visit was the last straw. I stood there for 10 minutes behind another customer and was never acknowledged which again, whatever, but another customer came in with a ticket and the woman working behind the counter helped her first! When I protested she said "I just gave it to the woman in the back, I'm busy" well how about asking the woman in the back to help me when I arrived, 10 minutes before that?
Always good quick service.
Overpriced. And their policy of pre-paying before the work is done, is just wrong.
My clothes were perfectly altered to what I wanted, the prices were great for simple Hema, and understandable for hemming an evening gown, and the women who served me were lovely. I appreciated the convenience of pre paying for services as well, it made pick up much faster
My first & last time ever going to this place!! I had some shorts shortened. First of all, I was rushed at drop off. So I didn't clearly get to explain what I needed done. Upon pick up I discovered that only half an inch was taken off. So I told the lady that I wanted more off. I explained to her that I was not satisfied & I wanted them shorter. She was very dismissive & rude!! She said I need to pay again. So I asked her if they stand behind their "Satisfaction Guarateed" policy? She said sometimes. And then brushed me off! Not only I don't agree with their "Pay before service" policy. Their rates are alot for the service. I normally try to support small businesses. But ***AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST*** TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE***SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!***
Very expensive! They need to work on their customer service.
They do and incredible job adjusting length of my black Levi's jeans. The finish looks like the original Levi's narrow hem. Will be dropping off a couple of pair this week. Great skill and well worth the money.
Very happy, been using Make it fit since 2011. The prices are great, it's fast, & the embroidery on my company uniform was awesome. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Very friendly and very good work done. I ripped a down jacket and now you can’t even tell. Thanks!
Waited half an hour because the worker was “stuck in traffic” and then was told she didn’t have time to embroider our items. Even when we said we could wait and pick them up another day we were still told no, too much to do. Left to get our 6 items embroidered elsewhere. Cannot rate their actual work but their customer service is nonexistent.
They fixed the zipper on my jacket quickly and affordably
Very friendly and polite staff. I waited until the last minute to get my uniform hemmed for my new job, they had it done the same day. No problem. Quality work. I was very happy with their service ????
This place is very, very, very expensive. I realize that they keep responding with "you pay for what you get" to the numerous other reviews with the same complaint, however, there is a thing called having competitive pricing; which, they are not even close. You can go to another tailor or even a dry cleaner that offers tailoring and save yourself a lot of money for the same quality that this place uses to justify their high cost. They quoted me $20 to shorten a t-shirt and $18 to trim a pair of pants. You can get the same work completed for half the price elsewhere which is exactly what I ended up doing. If you want to go here out of convenience then pay the outrageous prices, but if you value your money and don't mind shopping around you can save upwards of 50% on the cost compared to this overpriced establishment. I'd give them zero stars if I could. Response to "owner", "I think your 1-star review rating is not fair just because we could not meet your expectations based on the price alone" - actually, my review is extremely fair due to the fact that price is a major component when providing any type of goods and services; especially when the services that your establishment provides in regards to quality of work is no more greater or lesser than its competitors. "We quote the market prices upfront for a skilled professional job with personalized service and warranty included" - this, is in fact not true as I was able to obtain the services that you provide from several other providers for much less than what you quoted me, thus, the "market prices" that you speak of dictated that your establishment was severely overpriced. "If you are not happy with the price, please, feel free to choose any other service provider, but you may get what you pay for - you may like their price, but not the results. Tha law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot" - yes, I did exactly that, thank you for the advice. Luckily for me, since Make It Fit Alterations does not have the monopoly in the tailoring industry, I was able to obtain the same quality of service that your company provides for a more competitive "market price." "We have been in business for over 15 years with thousands of returning retail and business customers who understand and value our service. Our seamstresses work very hard every day 7 days a week including statutory holidays to put bread on the table for their families" - what you fail to understand is that your business credentials along with your seamstresses work ethic and quality of work have never been questioned. The several reviews that complain about the price are the customers telling you that the hard earned money that we make in order to "put bread on the table" for our families isn't something we want to just give away because you want to maximize your profits; furthemore, when the tailoring industry/market is indicating that the services you provide are extremely overpriced. "It is simply not fair to compare the price we ask to pay for the professional tailoring skill acquired during 20+ years lifetime to a piece of clothing that may have low market value" - please reread the comments I have attached above. Kindest regards, A customer of another tailoring company.
Called twice and left a message and nobody bothered to get back to me.
People here are Professionals! Awesome customer service! - people attentive, customer oriented, listen to requests, and suggest very reasonable solutions. Oh, and everything fits!!
They do all the work quickly and efficiently. The quality of their work is way too nice. Staff is really helpful and friendly. Everything is done professionally. They also do embroidery and the quality is best. If you want last minute alteration done, then this is the place. best for everything.
I had brought in a large number of items here for alternations and they have done a tremendous job in re-sizing shirts, dresses, taking jeans, and hem work. I have saved a large amount of clothing waste by alterations with this business. I feel they charge fair and reasonable pricing taking into consideration the business need to pay FAIR wages for the labour work, earn a living and pay overhead costs. Generally, if you need alterations, you should consider if the cost of the alterations out weigh the price of the clothing. The ladies here have always been friendly ,courteous and always communicated what needed to be done so there will be no surprises at pick up. I am very happy with the quality of work they have done for me. Their point of sale system is fantastic because it provides printed receipt that shows clearly the work needed to be done, pricing and pickup.
Very professional, good quality, on time. Very polite personal. Thank you!
The woman doing this was rude and the prices were really high
This was my first experience and I LOVED it!!! My child (for safety reasons) needed his name and a name of the medication on a backpack. This place has exceeded my expectations: it was fast, super professional (they were able to copy the exact font of the medication) and it looked great! We liked it so much and brought another backpack! I would really recommend this place! Well done! Thank you guys!
Avoid coming here if you’re having pants hemmed as they hem them too short. Now they’re useless to me and I’ve wasted well over $100 on them. EDIT: I was personally contacted regarding my concern and was informed of warranty on their work. I brought the pants in question back and they’re working on fixing the issue.
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! All their negative feedbacks are accurate and warranted. I found out first hand. Had some pant suit hemmed. Not only it was too short. Stitches became undone. I phoned and briefed them on the issue. The woman I spoke to was very irritated and rude. She had the nerve to ask me if I was sure I had it done there. I went there because it was close and convenient. Never will I go back there again. Sloppy sloppy job! Terrible phone etiquette and customer service. If they were rude on the phone why would I bother arguing face to face. I have no patience nor time. Don't support this business. Plenty of other places you can go to.
They are the absolute worst, they made my pants and jacket a lot shorter than I had originally asked them. I also find them too overpriced for the quality, all three of my pants unraveled after 4 days of wear, one grey one charcoal grey and the black one I wore twice. This company should go out of business.
Excellent customer service, highly recommend this place. For alteration and prom dresses.
I've been going to Make It Fit for years now and they alwsys do a fantastic job on all my clothing, including dresses, and my husbund's suits. I also love that they are open late and they will work with you on the turnaround time if you need your item back fast. This is the only place I trust and recommend to all of my friends.
The team here was speedy and kind. They made sure my dress fit correctly for a wedding and did it in under a week! It is a bit pricey, but worth it for the convenient location to SkyTrain.
