I brought in a Bridesmaids Dress for alterations and was very happy with how things were explained to me, letting me know what to expect with the various options for what I needed done. My dress was complete in a very timely manner and I was extremely pleased with the end result. The dress was perfect. I could not ask for better service. Now I know why everyone in Burlington directed me to Margarets Alterations. I will continue to use this service anytime I need alterations for my clothes.

Service is horrible, charged for work she didn't do, lost me permanently as a client. her alterations are more than questionable. if you want professional work avoid her at all cost. I won't recommend her to anyone!!

Margaret was a lifesaver in the moment my alterations person cancelled last minute on doing my wedding dress. I quickly called her and took a chance on her. I am so happy with the work she did and would recommend! Only suggestion I would make is to not have to pay up front for the work until you see what the work looks like (maybe a deposit? Make it easier than paying the full amount all at once since the work I had done I knew would be costly but at very reasonable price), although once seeing it I was not disappointed. *At first it was hard to write a review, it wouldn't work on my phone. Suggest to doing it on the computer. Thanks Margaret!

Went to Margaret with a prom dress that needed serious alterations 2 weeks before the big day and then discovered beads are missing! Margaret was more then willing to fix the beading NO EXTRA COST! went over and above and fixed everything! Thank you Margaret my dress is beautiful!

I gave Margaret my suit pants for alterations ( I gained a bit of weight ) and there were no problems at all. Fast turnaround, great price, and I have no complaints. It was a middle of the road suit ($600), and she did a great job. I will be using Margaret again!

I have been using Margaret's Alterations for 10 years and find her Customer Service to be 2nd to none, with very reasonable pricing and extremely quick turn-arounds on dry cleaning and repairs. She is very honest, hard working, and truly CARES about her Customers...perhaps the best seamstress in the area. She works to make things exactly right to ALWAYS please the Customer. BE VERY CAREFUL!! Guys has anyone had any alterations done at walkers line "margret's alterations" The service is horrible i sent her three brand new pants to be hemmed she messes them up completely, and when i take them back (three days later) to be done properly she simply says "sorry those were not done here!!!" although two of them were not even worn yet!!! She is far from being professional. Please be very careful dealing with that place ...Or better to have your alterations done somewhere else .. Coz she just screwed up three pants 130$ each!! And god does she have the nerves ...

Margaret is amazing! My best friend was getting married 7 days after my expected due date with my first child and I purchased a bridesmaid dress - hoping I would be able to make it to the wedding! I brought my dress to Margaret 3 weeks before the wedding and explained the situation. Margaret was professional and accommodating - easing my stress. She pinned the dress and scheduled an appointment for me 5 days before the wedding to double check the pinning before she started alterations. Of course, I went into labour the day I was supposed to come in for my appointment! My husband called Margaret and she was thrilled for us and super understanding. She rearranged her schedule to have me come in the day before the wedding for a fitting, and worked under crazy tight timelines to make sure the dress fit like a glove. I would recommend Margaret to everyone - and already have!

My husband and I have been using Margaret for a few years for very simple to very complex alterations. She is a true professional and has always delivered beyond our expectations. We have recommended (and will continue to recommend) her to all of our friends and family. Margaret has great attention to detail and has never missed a promised deadline. Finding a good seamstress can be hard. Finding a great seamstress is impossible. Margaret is a great seamstress!

My 92 year old/92 lb. Mother has been having great difficulty finding decent pants for someone her age and weight. Margaret tailored four pairs of pants to fit her perfectly, we purchased the fabricand Margaret took measurements from a pair of pants, which fit Mom, and she now has four lovely new pairs of pants. Keep in mind that she is very busy, which is a good thing, this means that she is good at what she does. Thank you Margaret.

My experience here and with Margaret herself has been exceptional! I needed a bridesmaid dress for my daughter altered (a lot of alterations really on an extremely formal floor length dress with different layers). The outcome (after just one fitting) was perfect! The alterations were done quickly (as promised) and the price was right (not expensive at all for the work done). On to needing my own dress altered for the same upcoming wedding and without a doubt I will be trusting Margaret to do those alterations as well. Highly recommend using Margaret Alterations for any of your needs.

Hi, my complaint is about Margaret's Alterations in Burlington, Ontario. I brought Margaret my wedding dress in March, 2015 to be altered for my destination wedding in May, 2015. It needed to be hemmed, taken in (at the sides) and to add a bustle. She charged me $170 up front to do the work. I picked up my wedding dress a few weeks later. She had me try it on in a small dim lit corner of her sewing room. when I did so, she kept pulling at the bottom front and then rushed me out. When I went home, I tried it on again and noticed that not only was the hem crooked, when i looked in the mirror, I noticed the front breast area had me very squished It looked like a rectangle because she pulled it in at the zipper on the back instead of the side seams. In addition, the bustle was sewn to the side seam instead of the back middle one, where it should have gone. I went back a few days later with a friend and tried on the dress again. I told Margaret my complaints and her response was that I needed to wear a bra under the built in one and to take it somewhere to have it steamed. I went home very discouraged and unsatisfied. I took the dress to another seamstress and she told me that indeed it was all done incorrectly. Today I called Margaret and asked her for a refund, and I was denied, in fact she asked me to bring it to her for a third time, but I now don't trust her after being sent home the last time without any help. I told Margaret I was going to report her to the Better Business Bureau. She then got very cocky and replied "oh well, you do what you have to, you can't hurt me honey, I 'v been doing this for 25 years.

Margaret! You are a gem Thank you thank you thank you for all your hard work on my wedding dress! It's beautiful! I will post a pic after my wedding so my beau doesn't see. Folks this woman, she cares. Davids bridal sold me a dress that was too small and Margaret fixed it! Added a bustle and made this dress look like it was made for ME. Through sickness and health she is married to this business! Works even through the roughest of days and the 40 plus years experience shows! She Gets the job done and is wonderful to speak to! The prices are SO fair! Davids bridal quoted me over 500 bucks to do what Margaret did for 140. I'm looking at some of these reviews and let me tell you....For anyone that says anything mean about this woman or her business, chances are: you were nasty to her !!! cuz she is just the sweetest heart! Thanks again Margaret, I will be back! :)
